First of all I want to thank the author and publicist for letting me read this story in exchange for an honest review.
The Life is a beautiful and hard story about a choice you have to make when you wake up in the In-Between.
We follow Eva in this book. She is a hard working free lance journalist. She is on her way home, returning to her son who will turn 5 in a few days, when her airplane crashes. She survives but is in a coma.
She wakes up in the In-Between and Thomas is there to guide her and explain where and why she woke up there. The In-Between is the place between earth and your spiritual journey. When you are there you have to decide if you want to stay on your spiritual journey and go to the next level. Or if you want to get back to earth and continue that life.
In the beginning Eva is convinced she wants to go back to her son. She is able to go to a room full of screens where she can watch her unconscious body, her son, ex husband and her mother.
In the beginning of the book there are a few chapters through the eyes of Andreas (ex-husband) and Luke (her son). I really liked those scenes. And I missed them towards the end of the book.
Eva is slowly finding her place in the In-Between. She learns a lot from Thomas. She also falls in love with Annabel. And she sees an old friend. Her friend, Lucy, befriended Frank. A man who claims he can send souls back before the 42 days have passed. She doesn't trust Frank one bit.
This book balances between Eva as a mother. She has to go back to her son right? And between Eva expanding, exploring and learning about her spiritual journey. Throughout the story we pick up clues that she has a very important role within the In-Between. Will she choose her son? Or will she choose the spiritual journey that will help all of mankind?

In the end I did and didn't understand her choice. She is choosing to stay in the end. I am not judging her choice in any way.
But I would have chosen to return to earth. I think I am quite selfish when it comes to choices like that. But I could never ever leave my children alone.
I even played a game once. Life is Strange. In that game you have to make the choice in the end. Save the entire city, or save your best friend? I sacrificed the village to save my best friend. My brother on the other end chose to save the village.
Throughout the book I kinda hoped she would return to her son. But I felt it in my bones that she would stay early on.
I truly enjoyed this book. And I am definitely gonna read the sequel!

This is the most unique book I have ever read! I was grabbed from the beginning and just couldn't put it down. I felt the theme is two-fold. One theme is that the main character Eva trying to rush home from a free-lance journalism project to get back to her son for his fifth birthday, presently be cared for by her ex when she is the victim of a plane crash. Left in a coma on earth, her spirit is caught in the in-between where she has to decide if she wants to wake from the coma and be with her son, or continue on an awakening journey and not go home by calmly breaking her down to build her up psychologically so she find who she really is and what is her actual destiny. The second theme I found was actually how it affected me in reading all the psychological personality explanations! I just couldn't put it down. And the other characters were so well written and Eva kind of has a thing for her great looking, kind, mentor, Thomas, the annoying Frank, the sweet calming Annabelle, the Ring and the Master. But will her deep motherly feelings push her to go back to her son? What would any mother do? But isn't wanting to continue your development something you want too? And what about The Ring? I was blown away with this book and can't wait to see what will happen next for Eva. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

I loved this book. It caught my interest as soon as I started reading. Although this isn’t usually the kind of book that I pick up to read, it was fascinating and I couldn’t put it down. Where do you go when you are in a coma or when you die? You go to a place called In-Between where you evaluate your life and decide if you are going back or leaving everything you know on earth.

In the meantime, her soul has traveled to a place called the In-Between. While her body lies unresponsive in a hospital bed, her spirit has 45 days to decide whether to return to her life on Earth, or continue with her spiritual development.
I wasn't sure if I would like this type of story, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I was very engaged by Eva's story and the difficulty of the decision she had to make. It's not as simple as one would think and waiting to find out what she decided definitely had me turning the pages.

Eva is a freelance journalist hoping her latest story is the one to get her the coveted Pulitzer Prize, she is rushing home after weeks away from her young son. Unfortunately, when Eva wakes in a strange place, she is told that the plane she was on crashed, and her body is lying in a hospital bed, and she's in a coma. She quickly learns that the In-Between is a place that will challenge everything she always thought she knew about herself, and she will be given a very difficult choice.
Well written and compelling characters. I thought this was a very interesting book that explored the psychological impact inflicted on the people involved in the aftermath of tragedy.

This has been on my Kindle for a very long time. I think I added it after seeing an advert on Facebook. it is a very different story to what I normally read, about 'The In-Between' where people go to after they die suddenly or as in our protagonists case, in a coma. I felt a little as though I was going through the motions of reading initially but I became fully invested in the story and now I have to read Book 2 and no doubt Book 3 as well.

I love the book. It is thought provoking and makes you think about your life. It’s also page turner and touching story. I love the idea of In-Between and the way it is decribed makes you think it is real. I can highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story where you also gets words of wisdom.

Very inspirational and well thought out book that not only fits well with Christian beliefs but quite well with a number of other religions. The entire premise of the book centers around one young divorcee journalist with a four year old son who is watched over by either her elderly mother or her ex-husband when she travels on assignment internationally. While flying back from an international assignment after being delayed for several weeks, the plane is struck by lightening and suffers a catastrophic crash which only roughly ten percent of the passengers survive... Our main character is left in a deep coma and "awakens" only to find herself in the In-Between, roughly a celestial holding area for those taken before their time whether by accident or suicide... and the journey has only begun. This book and those that follow in the series will have you reading well into your usual sleeping time... Though not my usual genre, this was an excellent and thought provoking as well as enjoyable read!

An intriguing journey into the in-between. Definitely not a typical kind of story for me but it immediately caught my interest. A woman’s quest of self awareness and insight into her life. Choices to be made through much reflection. Thought provoking and surprising.

Eva's journey made me do a lot of thinking and wondering about what "the in between" is like.
In 1999 I had my oldest son taken off of life support after being on it for 5 days. I always wondered if he knew or felt anything even though the doctors said that he was brain dead.

Wildly imaginative! Great, multi-faceted characters. Very unique plot. Vivid descriptions. This was a fast-paced, interesting read, that I found I did not want to put down! Kept me glued to the pages from the first page to the last.

This is a great story of choice. Life as you know it, or following your soul's growth and destiny. THE LIFE is the first installment in the In-Between trilogy by Sagar Constantin. As the main character moves through her soul's awakening there is a lot of beautiful prose about this strange place and self-introspection.
This story will grab your attention immediately. Eva survives a plane crash but is left in a coma with her spirit caught in a place called the In-Between: a place where people decide whether to return to their lives on Earth or move on to the next stage in their soul's development and destiny.
When Eva wakes up in the In-Between, she knows that she only wants to wake from the coma and be with her son. She is told she has a choice. A choice a mother would never want to make - her current life and son, or her true destiny. The catch, she must wait 45 days to decide. The longer she is in the In-Between, the more she learns about who she truly is and what her true destiny is, and the harder her choice gets.
I've never read a book quite like this one and I really liked it. To me it was a slow, but steady read and fairly easy to put aside for other obligations, maybe due to self introspection. Fortunately I kept getting drawn back.
I feel this book can be read from young adult through adult readers. It opens your mind to new thoughts, challenging your mind about what might exist beyond Earth and your current life. While it isn't religious, it does reflect upon the soul of the individual.

What if? What if your life was suddenly suspended in a place called the In Between ? What if you held the key to deciding if you stayed in a coma or returned to life as you once knew it? This book is quite the ride and was a pretty amazing read from start to finish.
Thought provoking and inspiring at times, The Life: A Journey of Self Discovery by sager Constatin took me by surprise. I don't normally read this type of genre but once I started it I found that I was drawn in and especially appreciated the writing style of this author.
I imagine every human has pondered the question of what happens to the body and soul when a tragic accident happens and they are in a comatose state and this book, through magnificent story telling, detailed a scenario that seemed to be quite plausible.
The main character in the story, Eva, was likable and had just the right amount of humanness to make this ready identify with her. Each character that was introduced appeared in a logical order and the whole story just kind of made sense. I found myself anxiously waiting to see who would appear next in the storyline and how they would be woven into the plot.
Without giving away any spoilers, I can say that I was not surprised at Eva's decision and the many details of the In Between had me entertained and waiting for the next chapter to reveal even. more about this "waiting room" type of scenario.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am grateful to the author, publisher and publicist for allowing me the chance to have a free copy for review.

I must admit that this book is not my usual genre, it is very well written and although it is not my kind of story I am sure that there are many readers who will find it mesmerising.
Eva Monroe is a busy freelance journalist who is separated from her husband Andreas, Eva is rushing home to celebrate her son Luke's birthday when the plane that she is in crashes leaving her in a coma, she is in between life and death and finds herself being welcomed into In-between by a beautiful man named Thomas. In-between is the place where some people go to learn about themselves and make decisions whether to continue on their journey, stay at In-between or go back to their life on earth.
In-between is full of advanced technology unknown on earth, Eva is able to see what is happening, she sees Luke by her hospital bedside chatting to her, she sees her mother looking sad and she sees Andrew with another woman.
Should she stay at In-between and work with Thomas, should she continue on her journey and see what awaits her or should she return to Luke and her mother.
This is a long book and I was disappointed to find that it doesn't really have an ending, there are another two books to follow, I must admit that this is one of my pet hates. I have given the book four stars because it is a good concept and well written but I won't be reading the following books.

Interesting concept of what happens with the soul or spirit of persons in comas or on the brink of death. Eva had to make a decision that turned out to be harder than she expected as she had thought she knew what she wanted to do. This first book in series deals with Eva coming to terms with what was happening to her and having to make this decision.
Some people would say that the book ends in a cliff hanger but in my opinion the true ending was Eva making her decision. The actual end of the book is one a lot of people would view as the ending is the setup for the next series. So I believe a person could be quite satisfied with the end of the book and only need to read next in series if they want to know more of Eva's story.
Sagar Constantin uses plenty of very good description of the in between and the happenings in this book. I found it to be a satisfying read.

I cant remember how I came across this book, but I am glad I did. I am interested in spirit/spirituality, so the idea of this book appealed to me, though being honest I was slightly skeptical of it being a kind of spiritual novel. This book is very unique. It is written very well, in the sense that it is readable, emotive,imaginative and although a novel theres sense spirituality and even self help themes underlying it. I found the main characters, Eva and Thomas in particular, likeable. There are/were many points through the book which were emotional, but for me personally, the ending of the book was very emotional, I still struggle to understand Eva's decision fully as a parent myself. Besides from this, although the ending was somewhat predictable, the twist at the end wasnt, which has led me to want to read the rest of the series. A really enjoyable, thought provoking read and a book which is hard to put down. Worth read in my opinion.

Amazing book! I love the book, the characters are very well written, the idea and scenery of the In-Between is fantastic. The way the characters develop in the story is also really enlightening and it makes them feel like real people. Everything in the book is so well described and you can almost imagine it as reality. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great fantasy-like story, where you can also learn a thing or two about yourself.

The Life was awe inspiring. Leaving you really thinking about your life. Wondering if this is what the In-between After life is like.

💫Fascinating take on life and what's next....
An interesting introduction to a new series. I enjoyed this take on the questions most people ponder at one point in their lives. What happens after death, or worse...when one is stuck in between while in a coma? This story takes the reader on a rich tale explaining just that. The world building has just begun, and I have a feeling book two has a lot more for us 😉. I loved the multi layers within the story and all of the imagery. I can't wait to see where these characters go next in this fascinating journey, as book one leaves us intrigued and definitely wanting more!

The world building has just begun, and I have a feeling book two has a lot more for us 😉. I loved the multi layers within the story and all of the imagery. I can't wait to see where these characters go next in this fascinating journey, as book one leaves us intrigued and definitely wanting more!

I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited thinking it was going to be a paranormal type of book, but it was so much more! Part spiritualism, part womens fiction, part mystery, and all amazing. Eva is the main character in this book and is a career-oriented go getter and a single mom who shares her son with her ex husband. After a plane crash she finds herself in a strange place called the In-Between. I won’t spoil it but her experience is truly one of the best written books I’ve read all year, and I don’t say that lightly. I loved the Happy-For-Now ending, and immediately borrowed book 2.
Give this book a read, you won’t be disappointed.

Not alive, but not dead… in between. When Eva is in a plane crash, she finds herself “in between”. At the In Between she confronts her life, her choices,, and her values. Should she go back or move on? An excellent take on an “It’s a Wonderful Life”-type story. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.

A beautiful story of Eva, who has a terrible accident. Unfortunately she ends up in a coma. Here we see if she decides to live or not. We get involved with her life. First time author for me but not the last time. Can’t wait to read more.

It had its moments
I really wanted to love this book, I did at the beginning. In the middle I found it hard to concentrate and didn’t read much each day. I became interested again in the last 100 pages. Now I am torn, do I read the next book?
