thought provoking

I love how Eric just always brings it back to the central location from which all our love relationship with Jesus should flow from.. the heart. This I believe is missing in emphasis in the church yet this is the premise from which Jesus built his ministry upon. The beatitudes being one of the most significant sayings enlightening our need for a ripened heart being central to governing our whole life. We must truly awaken to the importance of having a soft and tender heart before the Lord .

If we are insensitive to what we let out of our mouths we not only hurt others and create unnecessary situations but we reveal the condition of our heart. (40)

Fathers and mothers, husbands, wives, or children, or the company of earthly friends, are but shadows; but God is the substance. These are but scattered beams, but God is the sun. These are but streams. But God is the ocean (Jonathan Edwards)

It is hard to tell the condition of our hearts without pressure. (35)

If our service is not from Him, to Him, for Him, through Him and by Him, it will not be accepted at the judgment seat of Christ. The soul that is intimate with Christ is the soul that is accepted in its service. Dependency breeds intimacy, and intimacy breeds works performed by the Holy Spirit. (37)

really loved all of the works Gilmore included in this one. each page had quotes or passages from other authors on the topic of rooting your heart in the Lord and it was soooo much good truth. def keeping this in my pocket for seasons of needing direction and remembrance to watch my watch heart!!

This book may be just 45 pages, but every page is packed with profound wisdom, offering deep insights into the essence of a soft heart. A hard copy of this book was gifted to me and I will also pass it forward as the world needs more softened hearts.

Na rozdíl od knihy "Love Him", jsem tuto knihu četla déle a musela jsem se jí více prokousávat. Neříkám, že nebyla zajímavá, ale čekala jsem od ní více.

Didn’t love this as much as the first I read because it seemed a bit like a string of consciousness, but it did open my eyes to view certain Scriptures differently.
