Twentieth-century science now has startling new evidence to challenge our most basic beliefs about our world! Peter Kolosimo, internationally acclaimed author of Not of This World, analyzes a wealth of new information about primitive societies, transoceanic voyages in primeval times, links between ancient cultures, lost civilizations and prehistoric technologies. His conclusions are staggering, but supported by scientists around the world.
Creatures from outer space have not only walked among us--They have shaped the path of our history!
Peter Kolosimo, pseudonym of Pier Domenico Colosimo, was an Italian journalist and writer. He is ranked amongst the founders of pseudoarchaeology (in Italian: fantarcheologia), a controversial topic which aims to study the origins of ancient civilizations using theories and methods not accepted by the scientific community. He also popularised ancient astronaut theories of contact between extraterrestrial beings and ancient human civilizations.
I read this when I was a kid and it greatly impressed me. Kolosimo puts a lot of different places, times and "events" in every chapter, even paragraph, jumping effortlessly from one to the other. That fascinated and taught me about a great deal that school didn't talk about, and which ended in my since then ever growing bucket list.
While I don't believe much of what Kolosimo asserts, or, better, suggests, in this book, I like it as a fascinating and fictional tale about the old civilizations on this Earth.
Kirja on ”mukatieteellistä” hörönsösöä. Väitteitä esitetään ilman perustelua tai ainakaan kenenkään testattavia todisteita.
Timeless earth is a great title for this book, as the author proposes that the earth is far older than modern science allows, and that great empires and advanced technologies have come and gone in various cycles through the millennia. This volume was originally written in Italian and then translated into English, but the prose flows well enough for the reader to understand. The author Kolosimo quotes from various sources including modern scientists, ancient Greek historians and the Spanish chroniclers who wrote about the Inca, Mayan and Aztec cultures they discovered. Although I have been reading about similar source material from different authors, I still found new information unique to Timeless Earth that I haven't come across anywhere else. Kolosimo has written a comprehensive, worldwide collection of myth and data that is an excellent addition to anyone's ancient astronaut library.
On hell of a book, talking about all this Graham Hancock stuff, much before him, and trying to define the concept of an ancient civilization much before everybody else. It interrogates all the right suspects, Peru, Egypt, Mexico, and other not-so-hyped regions, and all the interesting stories that go by in this study. If you like the vintage writers of this subject, then this book is for you, bear in mind it is a bit outdated, but still fun to read, and to get acquainted with this field. But if you want to be introduced straight to the juice, then skip this one and go directly to "Fingerprint of the Gods" by G. Hancock. Fully enjoyed the book though.
