Snowbound with the Rancher is written by Kit Hawthorne. This book is part of the Truly Texas series. I have not read the other books in the series, and had no issues following along. This is part of the Harlequin Heartwarming series - where you know you will have clean, wholesome romance to read.

Dirk Hager has had ranching in his blood for a long time. He is not thrilled when a developer builds a bunch of houses close to his land. He is not a fan of the city slickers. Macy Reinalda has moved into one of these houses and is looking for a fresh start. One day she is sitting outside her home watching the bonfire and burning the last memories of her failed relationship when Dirk shows up and puts the fire out. He is worried about the possibility of a wildfire.

Macy is shocked when he comes over and squelches her fire. She starts to dig a little deeper about what Dirk had told her and realizes he is right. However, she is frustrated that he was so rude about it. Then a huge snowstorm rolls into Texas and traps the two together. Can they survive without killing each other?

I believe this is the first book that I have read by this author. She writes her stories well. The characters are well developed. I loved the tension between Dirk and Macy in the beginning. He was/is very set in his ways. He thinks that the old school cowboy way is the way to go and does not believe that city folk have any rights or respect to the Texas land. Macy, I loved her. She left a bad engagement and was trying to find peace and serenity. Her dog, Gunnar was adorable and made me laugh.

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read a copy of this book -- all thoughts are my own.

Snowbound with The Rancher by Kit Hawthorne is book #5 in the Truly Texas Series. Dirk Hager is not happy when a developer buys the land next to his property & builds a bunch of homes. He's also not happy that city folk start moving to those said homes. Macy Reinaldo is one of his neighbors that moves into the new development. She has just had a bad breakup and her and her cute dog Gunnar just want some peace and serenity. Unfortunately, Dirk and her have a rather rude exchange (on his part) when they first meet. Then a Texas Snowstorm rolls in. They are rare which means when it happens it can be debilitating. Can these two stick together through the snowstorm or suffer alone? It might take a little Christmas magic and some Jane Austen to turn this couple of opposites to lovers.
I really loved Snowbound with the Rancher. I'm always attracted to stories involving snowbound or snowstorm and this one fit the bill perfectly! Kit Hawthorne really knows how to develop characters and lets you feel like you have really gotten to know these two. It didn't have an epilogue, but the ending was cute. I also adored Gunnar and Taffy their pets. Always a plus for me when a book has a dog and now a cat too. This was my first book in this series, but I now have bought the whole series. I can't wait to read them. This was a sweet clean romance and one I know you will love. So don't delay and spend an afternoon cozied up in Texas during a snowstorm.
I was given an advanced copy of this novel, but all opinions are my very own.

The fifth book in the Truly Texas series, Snowbound with the Rancher, by author Kit Hawthorne, is a real gem!
Dirk is a cowboy…a man of the land that just wants to work it in peace. But like dandelions on a summer day, houses crop up (seemingly in the blink of an eye) when a developer buys the land next to Dirk’s. Those houses start filling up fast, and with the worst people…CITY FOLK.
Macy Reinaldo is one of those city folk, newly transplanted after a bad breakup. She now just wants a peaceful life with her dog. She and Dirk meet, and let’s just say first impressions are NOT good.
But then…a snowstorm in Texas? Yep, they are rare but real, and dangerous. Macy and Dirk find themselves stuck together. Can they start to get past their assumptions and initial impressions of one another, and forge a connection that will far outlast the storm? I loved finding out and you will, too!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

Loved this one, being vicariously snowbound with Macy and Dirk and their adorable pets in her pretty home was the cozy escape I needed from my own life stuff.

If you’re a reader who likes things on the steamier side this probably won’t be the story for you, but if you’re craving a sweet connection (once they move beyond their initial not so meet-cute) this very much delivers, I especially liked that their conversations had plenty of depth, it felt like they truly got to know each other over the course of the novel so even though this does that romance novel thing where they’ve actually only been acquainted for a short period of time, it was pretty easy to buy into the idea of a solid future for them.

There was a moment, a disaster for Dirk, where I thought maybe he underreacted at least compared to how I would have felt in his shoes, but admittedly I was glad he did, I was glad he didn’t spend the rest of the story all doom and gloom and the story just stayed on a lovely course including my favorite version of Pride and Prejudice, a quiet makeshift Christmas with thoughtful gifts and a really heartwarming sense of community.

Being snowbound can be awful, especially in Texas where the grid isn't up to what it should be, but in this tale--obviously based on the snowmagedden that occurred in recent years--Dirk Hager, a rancher, and Macy Reinalda, a new neighbor from New York, begin to discover that being alone isn't what it's cracked up to be and that being neighborly is a lot better.

The problem, however, is will either of them recognize that they are better together than alone? Her dog, Gunnar, knows it. And so does his kitten, Taffy, but sometimes humans can be clueless--until they're not.

It takes a christmas tree and decorating it after the storm to wake up both Dirk and Macy.

I love a good snowbound story, and when you throw in an opposites attract situation, who can resist? Dirk comes off as a little grumpy and rigid, but soon he's showing his caring nature. After Macy's history, she naturally wants to keep people at a distance, but as soon as someone needs her, she's stepping up to do what's right. Throw in a lovable dog and a frisky kitten, and it's a perfect holiday story. Although I haven't lived there for several decades, this story leave me a little homesick for Texas.

A highly recommended Winter read about grumpy rancher who finds love with a woman that decides to help him though a winter storm and a concussion. They fall and love , have Christmas together throw in some adorable animals. All elements a book needs.

This is a heart warming clean read,i thoroughly enjoyed reading this it’s been a while since i read a romance novel. When my children were little i would devour these books to help unwind and relax. And that is exactly what i did with this one.

Dirk Hagar is a rancher he has lived on the family ranch all of his life, the only relative he has left now is his sister who is currently over seas. Texas is having the worst cold and snow that they have known. But animals still need to be fed, with being on the ranch alone Dirk has to do it all himself. Another place nearby was sold to developers and new properties have been built. This means city folk moving out to the country, something Dirk hates.

Macy is one of those people, but she has purchased her place to avoid other people she has her dog Gunnar and a failed relationship behind her now she is happy with her own company. But will that change? Macy’s first run in with the handsome rancher didn’t go down to well.

When Macy’s dog escapes and runs off in the snow she has to run after him, little did she know what she would find and what it would lead to.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this series but it didn’t affect reading this one as it was a self contained novel that i didn’t feel i was missing any backstory

If you are looking for a clean romance novel either for yourself of a relative then i would recommend this. The characters are all great and likeable, believable. We all need a bit of romance. ❤️❤️
