“YOU ARE LIVING A LIE. Everything about you is a lie…”
This is a story about an ordinary woman, a mother of two. To most women, to most mothers, her life is relatable in every way. Except behind closed doors her truth comes with unimaginable consequences. Amid a night of fun and festivities, Isabella Walker found herself alone with a bold masked man at her front door. Unable to fight off her would-be abductor, the mother of two, soon found herself a victim of an extraordinary and grim circumstance.
FBI agent Olivia Knight has investigated her fair share of bizarre cases. When she and Brock are called to the suburbs of Hidden Hills to investigate a strange abduction. Olivia quickly realizes that there’s more to this case than a mere kidnapping.
Why was Isabella Walker targeted? Is there more to this housewife and mother than meets the eyes? What is the truth behind the missing pieces of her past? As more questions arise and more questions remain unanswered. Olivia finds that to solve this case, to uncover the truth, she’ll have to go undercover and face the Grim Reaper himself.
Unfortunately, behind closed doors there are secrets that are worth taking to the grave…
Elle Gray lives in a small town with her 2 cats, and her handsome husky. As a girl, she was obsessed with crime novels and thrillers.
Today, she loves writing and creating thrilling novels with courageous, strong heroes/heroines and dangerous psychopaths. She invites you to join her exciting world of detectives and FBI agents that take down killers and kick butt.
Olivia prison, Brock knows how to share dark secrets. This is a crazy story, who knows what is the truth anywhere or with anyone. Paxton gotta give me a little more heads-up! Great book.

Brock and Olivia sleeping in same house and twin beds? Come on, Really? This book just seemed to drag on. Olivia nor Brock ever co tacted a supervisor or superior? They made all these moves on their own. Not realistic. Never kissed, never said they loved each other? Did not ring true to me at all. I would have stopped reading g it but I have this thing that says once I start a book I read UT to end. This is last Olivia Knight book I read. I loved Pax books and Blake books. But these, not goid.
The Olivia Knight series does seem to improve with each book, which I appreciate. This installment had noticeably fewer grammar errors than the first two, so I’m glad that’s been addressed. However, the ending once again felt rushed, similar to the previous book. While I did enjoy the shocking twist, it didn’t feel very realistic. If he was truly an intelligent mastermind, it seemed unlikely that he would immediately confess after being arrested rather than attempting to deflect blame or manipulate the situation (he could have said the GR planted her bones in his house ??). The timing of events at the end also felt a bit too convenient (the lady breaking into the house as they are arriving home from the safe house). Overall, I still enjoyed the book, but the pacing and execution of the endings continue to be a weak point for me.

This is the third book I have read in the Olivia Knight FBI mysteries & I must say that as I get towards the end of each book, I tend to forget I have things to do and can't wait to read the ending.
I find the authors have a way of keeping you intrigued right up until the very end & The Woman Behind the Door was captivating. I never expected it to end the way it did, something I was not expecting but then it also leads you into the next book in the series, which I can't wait to commence.
This was a good thriller with a real twist at the end. The Grim Reaper ( this was a little on the unbelievable side) is a notorious drug dealer. He has escaped from prison, & has taken over the eastern seaboard as well as Columbia with poisonous drugs. He also appears to have kidnapped his ex wife who has re- married, & has been in hiding in fear of him. Enter Olivia & Brock who try to find the kidnapped wife, & bring down the Grim Reaper. The ending is a shocker!
I love everything Elle Grey has written. I would recommend them all. But I think this book might be her best so far. The storytelling was great. And what an ending....I did not see it coming. You just have to love Olivia and Brock. Building up the personal side of Brock was a great idea. I look forward to the next book in the series. It looks like Pax is back!
I do like Olivia and Brock but this story did not feel like it could have happened this way. Just a gut feeling. Maybe I’ve seen too many FBI, CSI type television shows. And I was annoyed by Ms Gray’s use of certain words over and over, “clocked”, for one. And using “lied” for the past tense of “lie!” How did they get missed by anyone proofreading or editing? I’ll keep up with the series. Hopefully, she’ll improve.
Elle Gray does not disappoint. You will wonder if Olivia Knight has met her match. However, when she is determined to catch this killer, her and agent Brock go the distance but the ending is something you won’t see coming. There are some parts that I thought were a little bit too much repetitive talks between Olivia and Brock about their relationship. The rest of the book is good.
Once again, I’m glued to the book reading from authors. I’m learning to enjoy more than just one. I’m a lady lover anyway so all these female band characters are fun for me. Easy for me to get totally encased with the stories at hand. For sure this one included I’m engulfed with all. If anyone is close to being like me and I’m sure they will be just as pleased with this book as I was.
This is a pretty much straightforward kidnapping story - so I thought. Then the twists and turns start. Olivia in prison? A drug lord leading them on. A devastated family man searching for his wife and willing to do anything to get her back. Lots of smoke and mirrors and an impossible ending. The Grays at their best.
I couldn't believe the ending of the story. I thought Jake was a good husband and father. But with a little help his true colors came out. I was fearful when Olivia went into prison for information about how drugs got into the prison. The method was a surprise. I'm glad that they got the bad guys and discovered what happened to Jake's wife. Interesting story.
This was an intense, complex, and suspenseful story that will draw you in from the beginning, and keep you guessing until the very end. Full of secrets, lies, betrayals, and heartbreak, it's certainly a story that you won't want to miss. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
The Woman Behind the Door( Olivia Knight FBI Mystery Thriller Book 3)
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved this book. There was so many twists and turns. I couldn't believe the ending, WOW. I am worried about the children in this story. This one took me to places I never expected to go. I can't wait to see where we go next.
I love the books involving Olivia Knight. I enjoyed getting back into one of her mysteries. This is a great story with lots of twists and turns. There’s plenty of action to get your pulse racing. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Good read. I've grown attached to Olivia and Brock and always curious to see what new case awaits them. The Woman Behind the Door leads you on a chase to find a kidnapped woman taken from her home on Halloween night by the Grim Reaper. It wasn't until near the end I started getting an inkling of what actually happened. This is number 3 of a series and I'll be reading the new ones as published.
Gray doesn’t get any points from me for realism, but her books are entertaining. I have to admit that the epilogue in this one has me ready to buy the next one. I recommend you read them in order. It’s not necessary but it does help you understand the relationships.
OMG. I could not put this book down. I did not put this book down until I finished it. This is a great thriller. I highly recommend this book. Can't wait until the next book is available.
Oh my goodness!! Another awesome series/book! Hold on to your seat for a wild, crazy, insane, twist and turns and back again! If you think you have it figured out.. WRONG!! More please!!!!
So far I have really enjoyed this series. The balance between Olivia and Brock is great. I wanted to read the Pax Arrington story but it was in first person and I for some reason can not stand that writing.
The plots of all three Olivia Knight FBI are full of twists and turns with many twists and turns. The details are vivid. Once you start reading you will not be able to stop. GREAT READ
Very surprised by the ending I was caught totally off guard regarding after their mission and the so called victim. I hope I haven't given to much away. What I didn't like was the sneaky other second ending with no other book in sight.
I feel like this series gets better as it progresses. The ending was quite unexpected. I can’t wait to read the next one, as I like Pax. It would be great to finally find out what happened to Veronica.
The dynamic duo has done it again. They are finding themselves, each other and of course the criminals. They keep you on the edge of your seat as you experience their thought processes! Looking forward to the next!
I really love the story, and the story line in the entire series. BUT, there are also a lot of errors throughout the series. Specifically in this book, it goes back and forth between Olivia's mom being gone for a year (singular) and being gone for many years. Which is it?
Lots of suspense, but I really think Olivia is a bit wishy washy. To much about her a s her personal life. Like everything is her fault or something would be different if only she did this or that. Can't really put my finger on it.
I read through this book in one sitting. So many things going on, danger at every page, and couldn’t find a place to stop. I had to continue on wanting more.
Really enjoyed this one. Lots of twists and turns keeping you guessing all the time. One of your better stories. I have read 17 of your books since midsummer. Keep up the great writing. Looking forward to reading the new Blake Wilder book next week.
Great series. Each book is a new adventure. The characters work well together and they keep the story interesting. It is a well written series and I am looking forward to the next book.
