A Charmed Witch
Halloween LaVeau has settled into her role as leader of the Underworld nicely. For once things are going exactly as planned. The universe has other plans for Hallie though and decides to put a crack in her big black cauldron. When a mysterious vampire appears in Hallie's life, she must figure out if he's a bad guy or if she can trust him. Hallie is shocked to discover the vampire shares a bond with a special someone in her life. Hallie is convinced that the chaos in her life has something to do with a new spell book that shows up at LaVeau Manor. Now Hallie must find out why and where the book came from before she potentially loses everything she holds dear in her life.

Chapters 1-3
WTF?? I'm only on chapter 3 however, it seems that author Rose Pressey Betancourt forgot that she turned the book over to Liam. Should Liam not be the Leader of the Underworld???
Chapters 4-12
Now, I'm at chapter 12, is it possible that this book was supposed to be released as book #11 before Halloween turned the book of Mystics over to Liam?? After all, there has been no mention of thus far of Liam returning th book back to Halloween. Hell, Liam hasn't showed. So far, a new Vampire and Thomas. Not to mention the I said, and repeated sentences of books past.
Chapters 13-18
Still no mention as to Halloween is back to being the Leader when she turned it over to Liam. This includes when Liam pops up and we are poorly edited into a different scene. I get the major editing complaints now! It's pretty bad.
Chapters 19-22
The editing is killing me!!! In the same chapter just pages apart they find Suzette cell face up... Yet, Hallie is texting her to know why she isn't answering her phone?? Let me answer that one.... She not answering because it was on the bar floor before Halloween picked it up⚡⚡
Chapter 23-28
Ugh...Now, at the end of chapter 28, Hallie is taking a call from Stephen, and informs him the only thing that they found in his bar was Suzette's phone. Gosh, the editing...
Thoughts.....
At this point, I'm asking myself why am I still reading?? Probably because I have enjoyed this series in the past.

Honesty, I can't believe I read this to the end. The editing was filled with over the top errors that a grade 4 student could correct.
However, editing aside the storyline was still entertaining. In the back of my mind I keep wondering if this was meant to be released as book number 11 and there was a mix up. Or could this have meant to be an inbetweener book number 10.5.
I'll never know. What I do know is that I accidentally came across this author one evening and was very entertained (not this series). I wanted to read more but could never find anything. That was because apparently she married and published under her married name. However, if the editing and sentence structure doesn't change with the next installment, I no longer waste my money or Kindle Unlimited share time.

I was so excited to read this book! Then so disappointed. Apparently no editing was done. The time-line jumped all over the place. Sentences frequently didn't make sense. Like "I wanted me to get rid of it". WHAT? I'll watch for the next one but if it's as bad as this one I won't be reading any more of this series.

Story was great
The story was great but the editing drove me just about crazy. So many mistakes in there. That took away from enjoying the book and shouldn't happen.

Needs proof reading
This has got to be the worst proof reading ever! Words missing, repeated phrases and then the jump from Bubbling Cauldron to the major just made it too much to ignore. I really enjoyed the previous books in this series so I'm very disappointed 😞
