At the end of the fist enstallment of this series, I have read of the kidnapping of Catan, the lynx the Gatti brothers (from the Leo people) have reascued by certain death.

Catan was raped and now he fears the human contact, even the contact of Asad, the bid Leo who obviously loves him. Catan is small and tender, almost defenseless: he can't bear the thought to share his body with more than one male, as the Leo people are used to do. He wants only a mate, Asad.

Asad wants Catan for him, but he doesn't want to raise bad memories in the small lynx; but he also doesn't want to share "his" mate with his companions. So soon he has to claim him for him and him only.

This is a very short book, an enjoyable reading to finish in a rush. Now, I think, I would like to read about Usama, the white leo Asad's brothers, and Rajiv, the big tiger.

This was the first of the Felidae series I read, and is my favorite. The romance between the two main characters is tested against the memory of a vicious assult.

Laithe's brother, Asad, is of the Leo Clan. Catan is a Lynx. After his village was attacked, Catan was violated and left for dead by a rogue pride of Leos. Laithe's ship answered the distress call - too late to save the village, they did rescue Catan. He loves Asad, but can he overcome the damage caused by his attack? Matters become more complicated when the Leos responsible kidnap Catan again.

The author handles the issue of Catan's gang rape with sensitivity. The horror of it is never diminished, but it doesn't spoil the romance. Catan's experience makes him vulnerable, and Asad's response to that makes the romance all the more touching. Highly recommended.

Y'all know I love the damaged/hurt concept. I'm twisted enough to want to read all about how that came about..alas none of that really in here. I loved the story and the characters...I took a star off because the first several pages were just a rehash of what happened in the last book. At around 65 pages each that is real estate needs to be spent on developing more this story - although the perspective changed to the current character I was still resentful of it. Enjoying these!
