Feeling the pressure from his brothers to find his mate, Micah sneers at the idea until he meets beautiful Nicolette. Bear shifter Micah has watched his four older brothers find their mates but he’s not sure he believes in all that malarky. Time is ticking, though, and he must find her or else his family will lose their land. He blows off steam on his bike and runs into two beautiful sisters. One sniff of Nicolette’s scent and Micah’s struck with love. She’s his mate, the one he’s been searching for. He found her. Now, all he has to do is convince her it’s for real and not some play to get in her pants. Micah discovers the dark secret Nicolette has had to bear alone and his protective side growls to avenge her. Can Micah convince her their destiny is foretold and they’re true mates or will she run away, leaving him all alone?
Securing His Mate is an unputdownable shifter romance. I started reading and I honestly couldn’t put it down. The characters are so engaging, they leap from the page into your heart. I connected with both Micah and Nicolette immediately and stuck by them throughout the whole story. The world-building is as intricate as the descriptive narration. The plot moves at a terrific pace. It’s tempting for some authors to slow down the pacing when it’s a short novella, but Laura M. Baird writes with precision and the pacing is perfect. She doesn’t resort to those tactics. Instead, she writes a beautiful romance that happens to be short. There’s quite a bit of depth and emotion in Securing His Mate which added to my enjoyment of the story. If you’re like me and love shifter romances, you’re going to want to read Securing His Mate. If shifter romances are your reading jam, pick up Securing His Mate. This is, hands down, one of the best shifter romances I’ve read this year. Highly recommend!

I have not read the prior books in this series but you don't have to as this book can be read as a stand alone book. Although, after the brief appearances by Micah's brothers, I do want to go back and read the prior books. This is a quick read with some spice to it. Romance readers who want some heat to their book with a HEA will want to check out this book.
Micah and Nicolette make a great couple. Even before they got intimate, you could feel the attraction between them. I like how Micah was not intimidated by Nicolette as well as how protective he is of her. The intimate moments between them are spicy.

I so enjoyed this sexy, bear shifter romance. Micah and Nicolette are well matched and Laura did a wonderful job with Nicolette's character as she wasn't physically perfect, but got her sexy shifter in the end. The closeness of Micah's and Nicolette's family makes the story sweet as well. Highly recommend.

This is the fifth and final book in the Shifter Mail-Order Brides series, so all the other brothers have found their Mates, leaving only Micah, the youngest, left. He is fed up with the whole thing but will do his duty. He has no idea how though until he runs into Nicolette. Then he knows what he must do.
This is a typical fast-read paranormal. See Mate. Sniff Mate. Want to mate Mate. Boom! And, of course, the Mate takes it in stride. Okay, so maybe Nicolette has a wobble, but trust me, she takes it quite easy considering rape and murder were on the cards just a few minutes before.
This is a quick read at only 91 pages, so don’t expect anything too deep. However, if you are wanting a fast story that makes you smile at the HEA then I can absolutely recommend this one.

Yum
Shifters seem to have it easy knowing someone's their mate but I loved Micah's fun at securing that mate. Love the drama and danger but I loved the courtship more.

In the 5 months since Lucas's book he's aged 10 years lol
The author was alright. The book, not bad. The random wolf shifters seemed so rushed they seemed out of place.
