horrible is a nice word for.. whatever this is. I stopped at 40% and from what i read, this is a complete and utter shit! I'm speechless by the level awfulness, and i have no interest in finishing this. I have more important things to do with my time.

Cliffy? No.

24 year old marketing exec gets out of a six year relationship with an abusive cheater BF and into an affair with her gazillionaire boss.

I tried to finish this because it wasn't that long but it was just so meh. The h is unlikable, the H is underdeveloped, the story stale, and the storytelling barely passable. Good for the author if she can make a full-time living writing such dreck.

Review by Lisa Kane

Gabby has been with the same rich loser boyfriend for 6 years, Brendon Sommers. On a plane ride home from Vegas (where he virtually ignored her to party with his friends) he refuses to help her with her suitcase in the overhead compartment.

"It's your shit. Not mine. You were the one who did all the shopping, so deal with it."

"You're an ass."

"And you're a bitch."

But across the aisle is a gorgeous gentleman who doesn't hesitate to help her. Gabby can't help but give him covert glances; he is not only beautiful but made such an impression on her. When the flight is over, he makes sure to let her pass in front of him in the aisle, but cuts off Brendon.

Gabby's troubles are just starting. She ends up getting laid off from her marketing job and her douche bag boyfriend gives her quite the shock. She makes up her mind to leave and go to Seattle where her best friend, Giana lives.

Giana is thrilled to have her stay, she was not a fan of Brendon's. But she has her own hands full; she's been seeing a married guy, Donovan, but is convinced he's going to leave his wife. Giana drags Gabby to a charity event and low and behold, the gorgeous airplane man is there. But he's not alone. Gabby has had enough of rich men thinking they can play women for fools, so when he tries to make conversation with her, she cuts him off.

"I would like to know your name?" he asked in that sexy voice that I had longed to hear again.

"It's none of your business."

A job opportunity comes her way at Young International. She's shocked during her interview when the same mysterious man turns out to be the CEO of the company and finishes interviewing her. He is charming, and sexy and quite the flirt. He hires her on the spot.

Simon Young is dynamic, filthy rich and a player. He has a reputation for having women all over the world but it's a known fact he has no intentions of settling down. Gabby knows this, but can't help but fall under his spell.

He mesmerizes her with expensive dinners, a luxury car, a beautiful office, a high powered job and most of all his body. He makes no secret of the fact that he wants her in his bed. Gabby falls in a big way.

There is certainly the insta love element in this story, but if you keep in mind this is a fantasy about a multi millionaire ruthlessly pursuing a beautiful but scarred woman, the storyline works. Besides oodles of steamy sex, (with a little kink thrown in!) there is a secondary story for Giana and Donovan and their relationship. Throw in some stomach plummeting drama, secrets both Gabby and Simon are withholding and you will be furiously turning the pages.

Gabby frustrated me a few times in this book; she lets her insecurities and abandonment issues sway her relationship with Simon on more than one occasion. He is an Alpha to the max and must learn to compromise or he will lose her.

This is a slightly angsty story about second chances, real love and soul mates.

"You fill the void that's been inside me all these years."

Man this book was bad. Gabrielle was a whiny heroine and simon's character was simply not believable. Gabrielle's background (which really wasn't nearly as bad as it could be in foster care) was the excuse for her whiny behavior and I was over it pretty quickly. She was a spineless jellyfish with Brendon the cheater but a whiny b***h with Simon. "Whaaaa your grandpa died but you won't text me because it's all about me whaaaa I was in foster care so that's my excuse to behave like a brat!" That's all I heard throughout most of this book. And Simons business deal? Pfft get outta here with that shit that was a poorly done plot device to create trouble in paradise. And Gabrielle's behavior after that was ridiculous and whiny (per her usual) but then gets pissed when she thinks simon moved on. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. My eyes are sore from all the rolling...

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

A Love Called Simon is the first book I’ve read by Sandi Lynn, and it’s a fairly short and sweet audiobook that I enjoyed for the most part. I find myself enjoying audiobooks so much easier than I would if I read the same book, and I generally bump up the rating if I love the narrators, which I did for A Love Called Simon. So while I loved the narration for this book, the story was a bit over-the-top and unbelievable, though I really enjoyed the heroine’s character.

Gabby has been with her boyfriend, Brendon, for six years, even though he mentally and verbally abuses her. My heart went out to Gabby from the beginning, since she has such low self-esteem. She can’t seem to leave Brendon, though, because he’s the only man to have shown her love, in his twisted way. When they’re on a flight home from Vegas, Gabby makes eye contact with a handsome stranger who witnesses Brendon being horrible to Gabby, and ends up showing her kindness and helping her out on the flight. When she’s back home, she can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous gentleman, even though she knows she’ll probably never see him again.

Gabby’s life starts to unravel when she gets laid off from work, only to come home and find Brendon cheating on her in their bed. She rightfully dumps him and runs to Seattle, where her best friend Gianna lives. Gianna was an interesting character, since she had a more prominent role than just that of a secondary character. As we follow Gabby’s story, we also get to see Gianna’s, who is in a relationship with a married man who supposedly will leave his wife for her.

It’s in Seattle that Gabby once again sees the handsome stranger from her flight, but she’s not about to trust him – or any man – since she was burned by Brendon. Gabby finds herself a job at Young International and is completely shocked to find out the CEO, Simon Young, is actually the man she never stopped thinking about. Gabby tries to keep a safe distance from him, but Simon is determined to have Gabby, and what Simon wants, Simon gets.

Simon is very much that rich, dominating, alpha sort of hero, and while Gabby fell for him, I… didn’t. He was just too alpha and controlling. He’s a millionaire and CEO, sure, but he was too entitled to things and very unreasonable with Gabby. Thankfully, he learns to compromise at the risk of losing the woman he’s fallen for. Their romance is very quick but passionate – I liked it, but I wish there could’ve been more to their story that was fleshed out.

The best part of this audiobook was definitely the narrators. I’m a huge fan of Erin Mallon, since she narrates the Addicted series by Krista & Becca Ritchie. Here, she does a great job of conveying all of Gabby’s up-and-down emotions in this book. Mark Boyett only had one chapter in Simon’s POV to narrate, which is a bit disappointing, since I would’ve loved hearing more of his narration.

If you’re a fan of rich, alpha heroes, you might enjoy A Love Called Simon. It’s a quick, sexy, sometimes sweet read with a heroine who grows to stand up for and believe in herself, all the while falling for her irresistible boss.

Sandi Lynn has done it again! A Love Called Simon hooked me immediately and I could not put it down.
Gabby has been hurt by everyone in her life except her best friend. She is in an emotionally abusive relationship, but her past has left her feeling and believing the things her boyfriend says to her are true. On a flight home from Vegas,Gabby meets the most gorgeous man she's ever seen. He was nothing but nice to her. Gabby's life takes a turn when she leaves her boyfriend.
Simon Young is the hot CEO of Young International. He is a playboy, that finds himself intrigued by the beautiful woman on the plane. Their paths cross again when Gabby interviewed for a job at his company. Simon is used to getting what he wants and he wants Gabby, but Gabby is too afraid to let herself go. Gabby decides to play his game, just a physical relationship no emotions and no strings attached. The chemistry between Gabby and Simon is off the chart. Simon makes Gabby feel good about herself and she starts to trust again, finding it hard for no strings or feelings.
Nothing comes easy for Gabby and soon her trust is shattered again when a secret that Simon is keeping is discovered. Will Simon be able to make her believe or will it all end before it begins?
This is a 5 star must read!

Sandi Lynn does it again with another great love story featuring Simon & Gabby. The book starts with Gabby boarding a flight with her boyfriend of 6yrs, Brendan from Vegas to NYC after a weekend away. We see what a dickhead Brendan is on the plane when Gabby tries to get something out of her bag in the over head & he refuses to help her so a handsome stranger helps Gabby with her bag. When they are leaving the plane she notices the hot stranger staring at her. Later she catches Brendan cheating in their bed when she gets home early after being layed off from her job. Fed up she gets on a plane & moves to Seattle to live with her best friend, Giana who has hated Brendan all along. Shortly after arriving in Seattle she gets a great job at Young International as head of their Marketing department. Then she meets Simon Young the CEO who happens to be the hot stranger from the plane. They start a physical relationship that turns serious until Gabby finds out Simon's big secret. This was a good book I loved Simon but Gabby pissed me off with how long she took to forgive him.

I enjoyed this love story of Gabby and Simon. Gabby was in a bad relationship with Brandon. He was very disrespectful. Simon saw this behavior and decided that he was going to rescue Gabby and keep her for himself. I enjoyed the story line, characters and sex scenes. I felt like there could have been a little more sexual tension. This was a good reads.

Probably my least favourite of Sandi's book so far. Maybe because i only reads her only recent book; which is beyond amazing, so I thought she's incapable of writing such a disappointing book.

Total DNF for me...
After reading the sample, I thought this was going to be a nice sweet read. I guess, I was wrong. The story totally fell flat. The writing itself wasn't bad, I just didn't care for the characters and couldn't take it anymore after about 77%.
The h was totally the worst. She was selfish and judgemental and everything was just a huge pity party for her. I simply couldn't stand her. Their negative comment about lawyers ( just wait until you need some kind of legal aid!) was the final straw and I hit the delete button on my Kindle.

I had very high hopes for this after reading the first chapter weeks before it came out and i was disappointed. Simon and Gabrielle first meet on a plane ride where he witnesses her boyfriend talk down to her and basically humiliate her in public and she just takes it. For the past six years Gabby has been with Brendon who was a grade a asshole, and she was basically a doormat, never standing up for herself and just plain sad. I did not like Gabby she was quick to jump to conclusions and pretty much an idiot. After being fired and catching her boyfriend cheating, she moves to Seattle to be with her best friend Giana and once there things were looking up for her. I liked Giana she was a great best friend who always told her the truth even if it hurt, i just didn't like how she got in a relationship with Donovan. Gabby gets a job at Simon's company and she just jumps in bed with him from the get go. I have no problem with knowing what you want and going for it but she didn't even take time to kind of find herself first. I liked Simon, now he knew what he wanted and he wanted Gabby and he came on very strong and did not take no for an answer. From the start Simon tells her that their relationship is only sex but she goes and catches feeling for him and gets upset that he doesn't answer her text. She annoyed me, she was a girl who knew nothing about life, about herself and very emotional and plain stupid. When the big secret comes out, i get that she's upset it is kind of bad but it was her own fault for not taking the time to take things slow. She didn't think for one moment that i just spent six years being a doormat maybe i should take some time for myself. I really did not like her, but Simon was lovely. In the end things worked out for them but i just thought the book would take another direction.

This book was about Gabrielle and Simon. Gabrielle is in a 6 year relationship with a douche. He mentally abuses her and she takes it because all she really wants is someone to love her. She didn't have a great child hood - no abuse or anything like that but grew up in the foster care system and has no family. While on a flight home from Vegas, Gabrielle's boyfriend continues to act like a douche, won't help her put her bags up, tells her not eat a candy bar ... things like that. Simon happens to be on the same flight and watches these encounters and does the gentlemanly thing and helps her get her bags, speaks to her, smiles at her etc. He does thing any good man would do. Simon is a rich, young, handsome millionaire. He doesnt do relationships or believes in marriage. He leaves the flight thinking about Gabrielle. Gabrielle can't get her mind off of him.

Once back home Gabrielle's life goes up in smoke. She is laid off from her job and finds her douche boyfriend cheating on her in their bed. She finally does the right thing and leaves the boyfriend to go to Seattle where her best friend, Gianna lives. It's there that she will start over.

To her suprise she gets a wonderful job very quickly with the help of her old boss. It's there that she realizes that she'll be working for Simon. And so begins their story of passion etc. But with every story there is some drama and Simon has a secret.

I only gave this story 3 stars because of a few things: I did not feel the connection at all between Gabrielle and Simon whatsoever. I hated how Gabrielle went from taking mental abuse and then instantly become this this strong women that is able to put Simon in his place while working for him. Its like she went from 0 to 100 in a matter of minutes. It didnt work for me.

Well if you want a pure old fashion live story this is it. Guy meets girl both have issues. But they can't seem to resist each other. He truly adores her and he does everything I his power to get her. Lots if steamy sexy, yes. I loved Simon in this story he is quite yummy. Gabrielle is feisty to handle him quite well. Great read.
