No matter where she runs to, I will always find her. Always!
Violet: Just my luck not only to be captured and held prisoner by my archenemies, the Zylonians. No, my captor is also the most insufferable male I have ever met. That he is gorgeous is utterly beside the point.
Eryx: I don’t believe in fated mates or any of those legends, not until the most exasperating female becomes my prisoner—and escapes me. But if she thinks I will let her go this easily, she is sorely mistaken. Because she is MINE!
Earth was attacked by alien invaders, who abducted children and subjected them to horrifying experiments or death. Violet, once a child victim, is now a woman and discovering that everything she had believed to be true was false. The nefarious aliens have been abducting beings from various realms, exploiting them for their own selfish purposes. However, a group of extraordinary women soon finds themselves thrust into a strange new world inhabited by alien creatures. To their astonishment, these beings treat them with reverence, recognizing them as their destined partners and confidantes. These formidable alpha warriors share a noble vision of liberating the galaxy from oppression, slavery, and despotism. Their ultimate goal is to rally diverse beings to stand against the forces of evil and engage in a tireless struggle for freedom and justice. Amidst this chaos, the women make a remarkable discovery – their fated counterparts and soulmates. Now, faced with the daunting task of convincing them to join their cause, they stand on the precipice of a thrilling and perilous adventure. I enjoyed the book and am excited to read the sequels to discover what happens to these brave women from Earth.
Violet and Eryx book is something else! She is a figther and he likes it. A lot! It would look like Eryx was the type to just give up but that's not him. The more She figths him the more he loves it! Violet has so many things to find out, She was raized by the Abbadoths and thinks that her human family sent her away to save their other kids. As always things are not as they seem. Amazing book and I loved Eryx brother! I really want to know more about him!
The Commander’s Challenge Book 2 of the Intergalactic Alliance Series
Violet and Eryx’s story illustrates the dark side of the Abbaddoths. They both had horrendous childhood trauma to overcome before they could come to terms with the fact that they were enemies who were also mates. As they face dangerous situations including fighting each other as fighter pilots, crash landing on a hostile pirate planet, and capture by Pirates, they become closer and start to understand why each has the opinions they do based on events in their individual lives. Love starts to grow but can it survive the distrust and sense of betrayals they endure. A wonderful wild emotion ride awaits the reader with Book 2 of the Intergalactic Alliance Series.
On one hand I did not like the characters or their reasoning for there actions or for failing to take actions in some situations. As well the fact that I felt that 70% of the book was about their sexual interaction. Wish it was 25% and more of her background, his and at the end with her family, others reunited freed youngest children. The story still dis not clear up why they were there for 20 years, took youngest human children, and what they wanted from planet and or humans.
Written in first person by Bella Blair, The Commander's Challenge is the 2nd book in the Intergalactic Alliance Series and follows second in command Colonel Eryx Sannox and Colonel Violet Manchester of Earth.
Earth had been attracked by an alien species known as the Abbaddoths, and had been under their brutality for the past 20 years.
Violet Manchester (aka Colonel Kabballoth) was a human 24-year-old Colonel for the High Commander Palludah of the Abbaddoth. We first met her in the 1st book as Vivian's sister. She was taken from her family when she was 4 and raised by the Abbaddoth. She resented her family for giving her up. She was taken into custody by Eryx (as his prisoner) at the end of the last book when the Zylonians freed Earth of the Abbaddoth.
We first met Colonel Eryx in the first book as Drexor's best friend who didn't like not trust his mate Vivian. He agreed to be Draxor's second in command after his last one betrayed them. He recognized Violet was his sasseath, or one true mate, immediately, and chased after her when she's escaped. They crash landed on an unfamiliar planet, where the two enemies fell in love. Violet learned that her hated towards her family was misplaced, and joined forces with Eryx and the Zylonians.
Zylonians are humanoid. The only things that separate them from humans is their huge frames, turquoise blue skin, black hair and amber eyes.
First intercourse took place in chapter 11 at the 23% mark. My typical complaint with these romance novels is the lack of romance and how long they make us wait to read the raunch. That is so NOT the case with this book. We are treated to eight separate sexual interactions between the couple, none of which disappoint, and we didn't have to wait forever.
This book was longer than most, taking the better half of the day to read. It balanced the romance and adventure perfectly. I quickly became addicted to the story line/plot and heavily recommend the read. I am really excited to start the next book in the series, which doesn't happen often, so it's a nice change.

This story was difficult to get through. Both main characters are unlikable. Their first sexual encounters are arguably rape which is acknowledged in the story but not really addressed.
Do some guys really think of their dicks as a separate entity? That bugged me every time it came up in the story. Honestly, the MMC is an arrogant prick through most of the book. At the ninety percent mark in the book, he is still thinking things like this,
“In the meantime, we spent as much time as possible in our chamber, having sex and…talked. Something I had never thought I would do with a female. But to my surprise, I enjoyed it.”
This man is supposed to be a hundred plus years old and he's never just talked with a woman? Yeah, that's the MMC. The MFC is pretty kick ass but she spends most of the book struggling with brain washing and him.
The world building is good with a decent mix of alien species and worlds.
If you enjoyed the last book - this one was just as good with how just purely interesting the world setup is written. However that said - I do think that a lot of the general world building is in the last book so it can be a bit confusing probably without the last. I am torn in terms of which book I liked more...this one or the last, but I can say that I liked Violet better than Vivian in a absolute heartbeat.
We got a glimpse of both of these character is the last book and Violet is the sister whom was trained hardcore since a tiny child. So honestly to me - the shining star in this book was mostly Violet. The way her character was written and acted was super rational and smart, with everything she did.
Draxor...he was also in the last book, and he didn't have a good impression just because of how he viewed Vivian, but for reasons - there were parts of him where I wasn't a fan. And I don't think that it's actually him, but the way that Bella choose to narrate him at times causing a bit of confliction to me as a reader.
CW. It's not dark, and written in a hot way of actually hate/sex but the ML does rape the FL. That being said though - it's not as dark as it sounds. But it is rape and it's acknowledged by everyone and I thought it was really interestingly written. Not to condone, but just Bella did a good job with not gaslighting what happened well I guess Draxor gets defensive-ish but he knows and says what he did.
All the sex scenes are medium high to maybe high? And Violet is all ready all the time, which why it could be said "dubcon" but it's pretty established still that Draxor took Vivian (a virgin) by force even if she felt good. However with the ending, I mean...well Violet knows what she likes and it's rough. This isn't one of those dark BDSM romances in my opinion, but it has slight tints of it with I guess? Since Violet is freaking strong.
Why it isn't a full 5 for me is that I did feel that near the 70% ish mark, that the story tidied up way too fast. The pacing and feelings were a bit hard for me to suddenly accept with Violet just saying she loves Draxor. I thought it made sense for her to say her feelings straight, but didn't really expect it to go to that acceptance so fast. On top of that, I felt her general background story started to fade after that moment - and only focused then on wrapping up her thing with Vivian (her sister in the first book). The way that her personal story tidied up, was ...pretty curt and fast, and I didn't feel like it was enough with their parents and family.
I got attached to Violet the character who was written so interesting, but then to sort of have it left open ended (especially since I mean it's only the two sisters) - it was lacking in that sense to me.
The other part that I wasn't a fan about was Draxor's POV in particular when meeting Raven. Raven's a human space pirate (and side tangent - SO excited for the next book) - but what's...interesting is that as the reader we are learning of Raven through Draxor's POV. And his POV is about how hot and sexy she is, and how he'd be taking her up for sex if it wasn't for Violet. But it's...written quite enough where he goes on about it that...I'm confused as a reader. Like honestly feeling offended for Violet is how I felt. In Violet's POV she says how she worries about Draxor being attracted, but says she couldn't notice anything - which...UM as a reader you're like "WELL...UH. ???"
Not saying Draxor would cheat or anything, but I personally felt it's just a really not good narrative to have had the male lead describe how her.
Quoted from the book from Draxor's POV - "Had I not been head over heels for Violet, I would have forgotten myself and drooled all over... " - "Raven added in a deep, throaty voice that would make any cock stand to attention. Any except mine... Content with our mate" "She (Rave) ...turned to me. 'And you, handsome, what can I get you?' Uninvited images popped into my head, and it was only Violet's presence that kept me grounded. That and the feeling of being utterly content next to my essenxia, otherwise, a wexer ago, I would have taken Raven by her waist and thrown her on the bed in response to her question."
That's pretty much it and the last mention of Draxor's description of Raven that's not sexual, but it was enough for me to be...confused at why it had to be mentioned a few time and not just once then over.
I did still like him minus the problems already mentioned, but if you read the last book - I didn't think his dominating behavior was that much of a surprise. If anything how freaking protective and attracted to Violet was just SO fun to read because of how I knew him in the last book. Sidenote I found it hilarious how it made it sound like he was having a side conversation with his own cock.
This book is like lightly a enemies-to-lovers dynamic, and although they started out pretty fiesty with each other. Clearly that's what they are into in the end.
Warning the ending does also end pretty abruptly in my opinion, with not tidying up all the loose ends for the two sisters. It does in ways with Vivian (if you remember her POV) but after you read with Violet...it feels lacking. There is no hot steamy ending scene too - just a tease, so warning on that since I always am 'meh' when that happens.
ANYWAYS the next book is on Draxor's brother whom we glimpsed at and Raven...whom I'm like SUPER SUPER excited to read. Like honestly Raven was set up so interestingly - I know my review only mentions the crap POV of Draxor - but that aside, she's so strong too. Clearly the next book is going to have enemies-to-lovers theme, but a different vibe.
I love the way still that Bella is able to set up her books, and it's not only hot long reads but enjoyable to read.
I DNFed this book at 50% and removed the books from the series I had downloaded from my Kindle. This author has also been put onto my “do not read” list.
As an author, you can write what you will. But to write a graphic scene and not list a TW is irresponsible at best.
What’s more, this author uses alien words for common units of measurement like seconds, hours, pounds, etc. Good luck figuring out which is which! The chart at the front of the book doesn’t list them, and the only other time they were explained is in the first book of the series.
Moreover, the writing style is very graphic. These are supposed to be romantic at some point? But the first book had little to no romance. I also don’t see any resolution panning out in this book for the female main character’s hatred of her family.
If I didn’t know better, I’d say a man was writing these books.

This is the second installment in this series about Vivian's sister long lost sister Violet and Violet finding her mate Eryx.
Violet is captured and is prisoner to Eryx, but she escapes and leads Eryx on a wild goose chase. They shoot each other out of the sky and thus begins the the half naked and afraid adventure on what appears to be an abandoned planet.
Violet is resistant at first to Eryx being her mate, with good reason, Eryx is NOT nice to her. When they have to rely on each other to get off the planet they stranded themselves on is when they get to know each other and appreciate what each other has to offer.
I loved Violet, strong, intelligent and resourceful. I didn't care much for Eryx but I believe Violet will make him a better person.
Left it at 3 stars, because it’s just not my cuppa. Description needs content/trigger warnings for violence, assault, rape. The first two thirds the “sex” scenes were dub con at best, and two were non-con. She says no, physically resists him, but melts when his magic dick touches her. There is one instance where she’s in her head and thinking ‘it wasn’t rape if you liked it’ - which is a big reason a lot of rapes go unreported. Your body can betray you, and it’s still rape. There is one instance where she’s held by bad pirates and they start to assault her - she’s left with her shirt shredded. If this had had cw’s I would not have borrowed it. Not sure I want to continue the series if I’m going to be hit with stuff like this.

I enjoyed Eryx’s and Violet’s story; it was a big game of chase and evade. This was a hot adult adventure but these characters were fighting each other at first. So much so that they crashed on a hostile planet. It was a bit over the top, but so entertaining. Violet was determined to hurt Eryx and escape because she was still hurt and angry from being kidnapped from Earth by the bad guys. Violet could not process that things were not as they seemed. This wild journey with Eryx helped Violet open up to not only love for Eryx but for acceptance of her sister. There is a happy ending. Read On!
Palludah is the Abbaddoth Armada commander in charge of the troops occupying Earth. He arrives to offer his surrender to the Zylniansis; Palludah's assistant is Colonel Kabballoth, the first nonAbbaddoth to attain officer rank. Is she being held hostage or does she not know she is human ? The man looking on is the High Lord Commander's second, Colonel Eryx Sannox. What is the connection between Kabballoth and Sannox. Very intriguing book as the second in the series. Well worth taking the time to read.
I like this author's books and am interested in this series, but I'm struggling a little with some of the content in this book . I understand that some descriptions of violence are needed in this particular "world", and the main characters seemed happy and well matched. I just don't love the whole "forced seduction" (its rape when there isn't consent!) idea, especially where the heroine has experienced trauma and abuse in the past. I'm hoping this isn't a reoccurring theme in the rest of the books in this series.
Such a well thought out story and I had to enjoy Violet and her tenacity. It always seems so easy to hate instead of giving the benefit of the doubt when going through difficult times. If only more beings could read and understand "To Kill a Mockingbird" .
An aggravating and dangerous relationship filled with miscommunication and misunderstandings drive a human woman to compete for the love and attention of a cruel warlord considered her father. Only by running from that relationship will she discover what true love and family is.
This story was not as good as the first book. I did not like the H & H and I don't like raping virgins. I love a good mating story but this wasn't one of them. The sex scenes were not for love but were just used for page filler and were to violent for me. Not worth reading.
Bella Blair did a pretty good job on her second novel in the Intergalactic Alliance Series. Eryx and Violet have a constant rumble going on between them that seems to drag them out of one conflict into another. Their story keeps you guessing and brings them into some surprising contacts with others.
These two characters will crack you up. You will probably not ever read characters like them again. He is positive he is the best soldier, the best lover, the best everything. She bests him at every turn. There is fighting & sex on nearly every page. Lots & lots of sex & fighting. 😂😂😂
Violet was forced to live with Earths enemy for years not knowing the truth of her life. She was captured along with her commander and now she needs to escape. Eryx is the Second in Command and knew Violet was his mate. Can they find common ground and find love or will they die? Recommend this book and series.
A good read, but better if sex scenes were deleated.
I really enjoyed the book except for all the unnecessary sex scenes. After they started showing up, I just skipped those pages. For me they were a waste of paper. I am 76, was married. Not anything I would want to read about.
Too much sex and a lot of it was of questionable consent. But the overall plot was really good and kept me hooked so idk
And I mean like … every other page was sex it was a LOT. Like waaaaay more than the first book. Like if you resort to using the term phallus (gross) to switch things up because you mention it so many times maybe you’re mentioning it too much? Maybe?
This story is about Eryx, (Draxor's best friend) and Violet, sister of Vivian. Draxor and Vivian are mates from the 1st book. Bella Blair weaves an incredibly powerful story.
This story was sometimes a little hard to read. It is definitely a story of taking your lemons and making lemonade. I found myself feeling her pain and was so glad she finally found happiness. It was worth the read.
I found the review penned by profile “Preston and Michelle” of this book to be both thorough and on point. Since I could not hope to do better I will point you to their’s.
Thank you P&M. I wished more reviews were as well crafted, containing both enough and the right info.
I loved violet’s feistiness and how open Eryx was about his emotions even if it was just anger. This story was a great continuation of the series and provided a great lead in to the next book. I do wish we got to see Violet reunite with her whole family.

When goin find yourself attached to a man that was by all counts your enemy. You truly wonder if you have lost your mind. Then you find he not bad and he is not your enemy. Life gets very interesting. Enjoy
The interaction between the two main characters is fun from the start. And it just gets sweeter and steamier by the page. I wish there would have been one more chapter to see what happens next.
