Emmerson helped save the entire town of Daydream from a deranged mage, and he saved someone's life in the process. Granted, he didn't do it intentionally, but he was sure it still earned him a reward or something. A cake. A balloon. A cute, dimpled, sometimes-ghost guy he was magically tied to, covered in cake and tied up with balloons.

He wasn’t that picky.
But things are rarely that simple in Daydream, and Emmerson will soon find out that fighting off a magically overpowered mage was nothing compared to the difficulties of the heart.

West was pretty sure he was used to being invisible. Spending a year as a ghost should not have been a huge change for him. West had nothing but time in his solitude to nurse his regrets, the biggest one being the beautiful witch apprentice he’d never had the courage in life to approach.
When West finds himself not quite as dead as he thought he was, the struggle of a second chance suddenly becomes real. But being magically tied to the person you’ve been crushing on for ages wasn’t part of the plan. And neither were the aftereffects of his little ghost excursion.
Apparently, coming back from the dead won’t be the hardest thing West will have to do.

All in all, it was very cute.
A little frustrating for me at first though and hard to get into because I didn't like Emmerson and West that much in the previous books.
Well they grew on me then thankfully. The middle of the book was super beautiful, sweet and perfect.
Then there was a tear-jerking drama and an action-packed ending.

West ducked his head to laugh, and Emmerson protested, lunging for him. He cupped West’s chin in his palm. “Stop hiding your dimple. It’s public property.”
West blinked at him in shock. “You like my dimple?”
“Is that even a question? It has its own fan club, and I’m the founder and president,” he declared, letting go of his chin and tapping on the exact spot it was hiding. “So for the good of world peace, you are hereby banned from hiding its extraordinary existence.”
😊🌸😊

“I like you.” Emmerson froze. “Any color, any accessory, any time of day, I like you. You’re beautiful to me, even when you think you’re not beautiful.”
“You shouldn’t say things like that to me,” Emmerson said shakily, biting his lip. “I’m going to start getting used to it.”
“I want you to. I want to say these things to you every day. I want you to stop looking so shocked when you hear them,” West said.
🦋🥰🦋

This was the finale of the series, I'm a bit upset that Mal doesn't have his own book. Mal is the most interesting character of all for me. 😢

Magic
Romance
hurt/comfort

It is always so bittersweet when a series you enjoy comes to an end. This is the final installment of the Daydream series. This book, IMO, must be read with previous installments or you may be a bit lost. It is not a standalone and I feel like reading all the other books is just necessary to get the full enjoyment of the group and their dynamic. Plus you do have to know events that happened in previous books to know Emmerson and Wests beginnings.
West and Emmerson magic is still connected. They are struggling with the fallout of the events that almost destroyed Daydream.
West feels guilt over what happened and tries to avoid Emmerson.
Emmerson doesn't understand West behavior and feels hurt by it.
It takes the two a bit to get acquainted.
These two are likable characters that are both broken in their own way.
I loved how all previous couples are intertwined with this story as well.
Overall, a solid read. I will miss Daydream but I'm glad I can always revisit with rereads.

This book is like being in the softest coccun💜

This is the last book of the Daydream Colorado universe. Bittersweet to finish an amazing series, but this last books visit everyone in from the books and close the story with the sweetest happy ending.
“It was Daydream, with all its usual quirks and oddities, but on five times speed and fit into a hundred-foot radius.”

The whole series is beautiful and sweet, funny with a bit angst, kind of magical realism. The world building is fascinating, the writing is outstanding and the characters are lovable.

West is a big shy farm boy with terrible period behind, full of guilt and afraid to believing in the future,
“West didn’t have a lot of words, but he had more words for Emmerson than anyone else.”
and Emmerson is the smaller colourful adorable disaster, with low self esteem, and he also afraid of the future.
““I love trouble. I am trouble. Trouble is me.”
They are beautiful together! And finally got they well deserved happiness.
““I hate everyone who made you doubt you’re loveable. I’d ruin them if I could,” West said. “But I can’t do that. What I can do is love you until you believe me. Until you’re sure I’ll never stop loving you.”

Favorite quote from Spectral:
“Did you know they say beauty marks and moles are where your soulmate kissed you the most during your past life?” West asked as his mind spun off into an Emmerson-induced haze. “Really? Interesting. Because I have a mole on my ass. Past Me must have had a good time,” Felix said.”

Sorry had to share🤣
If you only read finished series, here you are☺️ if you not why did you start already?🤨

Magical Romances

A lovely ending, but it took an angsty while to get there! Emmerson and West are really put through the ringer in this one, so many misunderstandings. However, it is ultimately a hopeful story, very well written, and full of magic. I've read the whole series, and it was great to come across some of the characters from the early books. A read with lots of twists and turns, I definitely recommend that you read them all of the stories in order.

😭😭 I don't wanna leave Daydream!!!!! I'm not ready!!!

...Ok now that I'm done crying, I can get to how much I adored West and Emmerson. Even though West is no longer just a ghost, he's still painfully shy and spends most of his time trying to blend into the background. On the opposite side of the spectrum is Emmerson. He is bright and bold. His hair color changes almost daily and no one would ever call him shy. I loved how he made it his mission to get West to be more outgoing. Emmerson decided they were going to be friends and that was that, not that you were going to hear West complaining. Not only is he too sweet for that, but the fact that he's in love with Emmerson makes it all the sweeter. It doesn't take Emmerson long to realize how amazing West is and I was so excited when their relationship turned romantic.

I also loved how we got to see plenty of past favorite couples from the Daydream series. Seeing as how Emmerson lives with Nick and Felix lives with West, they were very present in the story. We also got to see a fair bit of Mal and Thorne. I think those two are one of the major reasons I am so devastated about leaving Daydream behind. Every morsel we are given with the mysterious Mal I gobble up and I really wish we got his and Thornes story. The authors do give us one scene though that I swear was a gift to us Mal and Thorn fans...and that's all I'm going to say about that! 😉

All in all this was a great read and fit perfectly into the series. I will miss the whimsical town of Daydream and all its magical (and non magical) inhabitants. That being said, I look forward to what these authors have in store for us next!

We have Emmerson & West who are dealing with the fallout from the prior book. They are magically bound & the side effects are not so pleasant. What I didn't like, and don't in my books, is the whole, "I'm going to do something for you own good without discussing it with you". That drives me absolutely nuts!!! Have a conversation people & come up with a plan together. I really recommend that you read the other books in the series before picking this one up. You will enjoy it so much better & things will make more sense. I do love Emmerson & West as a couple, they are sweet. I felt for West who was just a ghost in the prior book & was really having issues breaking out of his shell. I am extremely saddened that this series is over, but the authors did a wonderful job taking us on this journey. I will be visit our lovely residents of Daydream regularly.

I rec'd a copy of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Spectral by A. M. Rose. It's the fourth book in the Daydream, Colorado series. Spectral is the first book in the series that I have read, and I loved Daydream, Colorado, and the people that live there. I loved Emmerson and West. They had so much personal growth throughout the story. I also loved their friends and how they were always there to help them with anything they needed. I look forward to reading more books in the Daydream, Colorado series.

There’s plenty of magic, sweetness, and angst to be had in this story. There are also lots of chances to see couples from earlier books in the series, as the tightly woven fabric of friendship in Daydream is still alive and well. There aren’t as many moments in this particular book of magic being innocuously charming as there have been in other stories in the series– understandable since both Emmerson and West are still processing the fallout of magical manipulation that has destabilized both of their lives. Both Emmerson and West broke my heart in different ways: Emmerson is fierce but fragile, and even the people he cares most for have a habit of letting him down when it really counts– not always intentionally, but still. West is painfully shy and floundering from the events of the past year or so (no spoilers, but read earlier books in the series for that epic story), so it takes a while for him to come out of his shell enough to actually connect with Emmerson the way he desperately wants to. Watching them together is mostly adorable, a tad frustrating, and often genuinely heartwarming, at least until one of them makes that most annoying (and essential, as far as plots are concerned) BAD DECISION that topples everything they’ve started to build together. Does he regret it? Yes. Did he mean well? Of course. Should he just have been honest with his partner, instead of hurting him by “protecting” him instead? Absolutely. Still, it’s worth the drama and the pain to have the mystery solved and the relationship repaired, and the happily ever after is definitely worth all it takes to get there.

This writing duo just isn’t for me. I had a love/hate relationship with both Blindspot and Whirlwind, finding elements of both problematic and frustrating, so I’m going to call it quits on this one early. While I haven’t been finding Spectral as problematic as Whirlwind, I’m not really enjoying it and I already have 3 notes that just say “gross,” like low key gross mini reminders of the extremely gross messaging in Whirlwind. Plus the “conflict” feels forced and unimaginative and I feel supremely bored and underwhelmed.

If you’ve been enjoying the series, I suspect this one will work for you too. As for me, I held out hope this one would be a win for me because West and Emmerson seemed so sweet in previous books and I genuinely do love the concept of the Daydream series in general but *shrugs* it’s not working out for me after all.

Phenomenal!! Emmerson helped to save the town and West in the previous story, Whirlwind. West is still struggling and siphoning off Emmerson’s magic. They are magically bound together. Emmerson doesn’t have any self-esteem; he can’t say No and in return he walked all over. West doesn’t believe in himself and doesn’t think he’s worthy of Emmerson. I loved Emmerson and West when they finally got together!!! I love how we get so much interaction with all the previous couples! Overall, a phenomenal read! The story is very well written with complex characters and a satisfying ending, highly recommend. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. A sweet ending to a sweet series. Emmerson was sunshiny manic pixie dream boy but his some deep insecurities. He was very much ADHD coded. West was sweet and shy with a tendency to martyr himself. He brought that BDE to bed though. I’m not the biggest fan of third act breakups, but it made sense for this couple and their complicated situation. West was overprotective and not the best communicator besides, though he did make sure Em always felt good enough. I wish we could have gotten a book for Mal and Hawthorne, but this was a fun peak into their weird domestic bliss.

Spice: 3/5

Triggers: ableism, discussion of death/ghosts, memory tampering (previous book), stood up on date (not between MCs), blood

Emmerson and West… these two boys just gave me all the feels. This book didn’t hold the as much humor as couple of the others had to me but it definitely held a lot of heart. Poor West thinking he was the cause of all Emmersons problems and Emmerson thinking he wasn’t good enough for anyone to love long term. They were so sweet at times I felt it physically. I love how they tied up the already set continuing story line without adding more baggage to it. I adored getting to see the gang all together again once more as well . I am struggling a bit to leave this awesome series behind (well not completely still awaiting my promised Mal and Thorne story ) but I’m looking very forward to what is coming next from this author duo!

I loved this final installment in the Daydream series. I'm sad to see it finished but I'm looking forward to what this author duo publishes next. There's not much I can reveal about this book that doesn't spoil the storyline, but I think people who've enjoyed the series will absolutely adore this one.

The mystery elements that were present in the previous two books in the series (that I didn't really care for) are mostly absent from this book. There is a bit of mystery, but the book is largely focused on developing the relationship between West and Emmerson. West is the strong, silent, and shy type, and Emmerson defines himself as needy and clingy. I wouldn't say that this book is trope-y or formulaic, but it does fall on the hurt/comfort spectrum and features two MCs with a lot of insecurities to work through. If you enjoy that, you're in for a treat.

The authors give a brief recap of the events that happened in the previous books, but this book is not really meant to stand alone and will be best enjoyed if you've read the others in the series before starting this one.

Emmerson and West
Emmerson is such a sweetheart, and West carries such a heavy burden not of his making, that you go into this book wanting them to find their HEA. This book is one that hits you in the feels. Knowing it’s the last in the series adds an extra bittersweet moment.
Lots of romance and more angst in this one but sweet moments also. I really enjoy the detailed insight into how the witches work, how they use charms, etc.

It was lovely to see each of the other couples coming together as a close-nit friend group and seeing a little more of Thorne and Mal’s relationship.

Spectral is another great addition to the whimsical Daydream, Colorado series. You should know that this won’t work well as a standalone. You need to read Whirlwind first to get the full backstory on the leading men, but really, I highly recommend reading the whole series in order.

In Whirlwind, an ostracized mage was found to be the source of two years worth of anomalies in the town. The mage wanted revenge and used West, a ghost, to achieve it. Emmerson is a witch in training, the apprentice to Daydream's head witch, Malachi. Emmerson knows West from when he made him a charm that unknowingly kept West from dying altogether. It magically tied them together, which is where Spectral picks up, a month after Whirlwind ended.

Being linked is making Emmerson’s magic unpredictable and is putting a drain on West. Its dangerous for both of them so Malachi is struggling to find a way to safely break the charm. West frequently visits the magic shop but whenever he sees Emmerson, he recoils and hides his face. Emmerson, who’s no stranger to rejection, is hurt and upset by West's reaction. West isn’t rejecting Em, though; he’s embarrassed because Em now knows of West's years-long crush on him, and he’s ashamed because he thinks everyone blames him for Daydream almost being obliterated.

This is an adorable love story. These men are so sweet and gentle, and their dates so romantic, with hand holding, hitched breaths, and West shyly blushing and ducking his head. West is tremendously infatuated with Em. Being loved by Em has been a lifelong, unattainable dream. West wants nothing more than to have a chance to cherish Emmerson, make him happy and feel cared for.

Emmerson is quite fond of West, too, but he’s insecure. He’s been told he’s unreliable, exhausting, and flaky by others and has been repeatedly stood up by dates. He needs the validation of those he’s close to. Because he thinks so little of himself, he’s learned to rely on his looks to attract men. West, however, appreciates all of Emmerson, much more than just his appearance. Em feels heard and understood by West, and it’s lovely to see him bloom from West's attention.

As swimmingly as their relationship is going, though, their intertwined magic is increasingly causing problems. The only choice might be to stay apart from each other. Malachi can’t find the answer so it falls to Emmerson to find his confidence and solve the problem himself.

The entire gang makes appearances in the book. A movie night in the park includes Mason and Drew, Sage and Ben, Darian and Tate, Dylan and Jamie, and of course, Nick and Felix. Nick is Emmerson’s roommate and West lives with Felix, so those two are around a lot. They provide a lot of humor and are particularly funny when giving the lovebirds little nudges toward each other. Hawthorne and Malachi, as Em's surrogate parents, are around, too.

If you enjoyed the previous Daydream, Colorado books, you’ll love this charming gem. I highly recommend it.

It’s hard to believe that I’ve only been acquainted with Daydream, Colorado for just about a year when the first book in the series dropped around this time in 2021. And here we are with an exceptional conclusion to this darling series.

I sound like a broken record because I’ve loudly declared that each book was my favorite and yet, reading Emmerson and West’s beautiful love story had placed this firmly as my favourite in the series. While the rest of Daydream is reclaiming their lives after the events that were central in the previous book, West and Emmerson are still struggling with stabilizing their magic as well as taking any steps forward with their feelings for each other. And my god, these two were such precious cinnamon rolls I immediately wanted to love and protect forever. I have such a soft spot for kind characters who love with their whole hearts and while each of these MC’s having different coping methods—Emmerson with his vibrant style and happy-go-lucky attitude, and West being a little more introverted particularly after his ordeal—both of them struggle to believe that they could be worthy of the other’s attention. Once they do move past this anxiety, watching them court each other filled me with all the warm feelings. The inevitable relationship hiccup created some delicious angst and I so enjoyed how it taught both of them to value the best and brightest parts of their personalities and fight for a chance to love each other. Filled with the joy and whimsy I have come to expect from all the Daydream, Colorado books, *Spectral* does not disappoint readers who have found a home in this lovely little magical town, whose citizens never fail to show up for each other in small but extraordinary ways.

This series has been such a gift and I’m so grateful to AM Rose for creating this little pocket of delight at a time when reading about kindness and compassion is so important. Congratulations to them for concluding an amazing series.

Forks in the road

At the end of the third book in this series it seemed that everything had been wrapped up. The mysteries of the strings being pulled had been figured out and the maladies plaguing Daydream were fixed! Nobody was in danger anymore! Crushes and loves had been professed and people were happy! Only not quite. After all of that the future for the disappeared West is a bit of a question, as is the feelings for Emmerson now that West is back.

West spent an entire year being used for his magic in a half dead state. Waking up and finding that his fears of not existing were brought to life so thoroughly and then he was used to harm the town he loves leaves him feeling unworthy of being in Daydream. He doesn't want to worry his parents and he is sure that all of the residents of town must hate him for his part in all that happened. It seems easier to once again slip away and disappear than to try and find a life once again. Luckily his new found friends aren't willing to let that happen so easily.

Emmerson always seems to pick the wrong thing. The wrong ingredients, the wrong town, the wrong magic path, the wrong man. When his magic accidentally saves West and West is revealed to have a crush on him is seems maybe things are finally going the right way. But instead his magic keeps flaring up causing problems and West wants nothing to do with him. Every decision is still wrong and maybe now it is final as well.

It is clear that not quite everything is figured out yet in Daydream. Emmerson is more powerful than he realizes and deciding his future is important. West finds himself still tied with magic and it can effect Emmerson and maybe even the whole town. The two need to figure out each other but also want they want for a future and where if there is to be any lasting hope for the town.

This truly finishes the story arc of Daydream. It was a beautiful story and came to an amazing ending even when it was a bit unexpected!

When I first read a free story which introduced me to Daydream Colorado series I didn't even realize I was falling down the rabbit hole that won't let me go and I must say it's been a wonderful, memorable and unique ride. I must admit I wouldn't even consider reading it if there wasn't that eye catching, beautiful and unique cover, because the blurb wasn't promising anything I would normally go for. But as soon as I've read the first few pages I just knew I was in for a treat. The writing is exceptionally good, characters (main or supporting) come to life in just a few sentences and that's an art many authors are struggling to achieve for years.
I can't say much about this final book without major spoilers so let's just say that it's all I was hoping for from the moments West and Emmerson were first introduced in previous books. West shoved up in second book just in one scene and I immediately wanted to read his story - that's saying a lot. Same goes for Emmerson who played a bigger role in book 3.
Emmerson and West are perfect for each other, but the series of misinterpreted reactions and situations leaves them at a stalemate for quite awhile. On the outside they are opposites. Easy going vibrant Emmerson with his over excited puppy attitude is nothing like seemingly strong and quiet West, but they both hide deep insecurities.
In this final instalment we get to meet all the characters we love from previous books and I must say that I'm sad to leave this quirky little magical town and it's residents. But I guess it was time, although I'm still secretly hoping for Mal's and Thorne's story. I just feel that they have so much to say and they are definitely the most intriguing characters in Daydream.
I'm very much looking forward to anything this author duo decides to publish next.

I have loved this series from the start. It's been a wonderful visit to Daydream, a place where magical folk can live in the open with no fear of revealing themselves to non-magical people.
Emmerson and West deserve their HEA after what happened in book three, Whirlwind, but especially West considering he spent a long time as a ghost, being forgotten by the whole town. West has crushed on Emmerson for a long time but his lack of self esteem, worth and confidence have a big detrimental effect on his outlook on life. He's one that really pulls on your heart. Emmerson also has bad experiences with exes, putting him down and not feeling enough for others though his friends really try and pull him up.
When things work for these two, they are incredibly sweet together and it builds up in to something wonderful for them but mental health and magical problems have tensions rising and danger presenting itself to more than just themselves and each other.
The community of Daydream is so much fun to read. All of the previous couples appear and there's even a couple of scenes where everyone is together. You can really sense the bonds they have as friends and it's great to catch up with those we've read before. I definitely recommend reading at least book three before this one, if not the whole series in order.
An emotional read but oh so worth it! I love the characters and could really feel the bond that they shared, magical and emotional.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

A nice conclusion to this charming series, tying up the last of loose ends left over from previous books and dealing with the fallout from the overreaching story arc wrapped up in Whirlwind.

In Spectral all mysteries have been solved, the Big Bad has been captured, and for the most part life in this quirky little town has gone back to normal, but as it turns out, all is not quite well. There’s West, who in addition to dealing with Hurricane Emmerson, his recent trauma and a heavy dose of totally misplaced guilt, is also experiencing some unexpected and pretty concerning side effects of coming back from the dead. Then there’s Emmerson, chaos personified frequently causing cuteness overload, but deep down hiding some serious abandonment issues and low self esteem. All that makes them a surprisingly good fit, though it takes a lot of mutual pining and a few mistakes to solidly bring them together.

What I didn’t like was the way the inevitable relationship bump was handled.

What I did like very much was still the brilliant world building and the charming little town of Daydream with its quirky, lovable residents. However, the best part of this book (or rather, the whole series) for me are definitely Emmerson’s interactions with Mal and Thorne. There’s such a perfect mix of brattiness, patience, unlimited acceptance and fondness reserved only for very special, very close people in every little scene with them which makes watching this weird little family amusing and endearing at the same time.

When I started reading the Daydream series last year I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much. I’m sad to see it finished, but I'm also very much looking forward to anything these authors write next.

I received an ARC of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Emmerson and West have a tricky situation. Although it helped bring West from the ghost plane into the living one, Emmerson didn't really mean to magically link them together. And now they have to see each other often to try and remove that link. Of course West was pinning over Emmerson the entire time he was a ghost. It's easy to stalk and observe someone when know one knows you are there or even exist. It's just that West has always been shy and quiet, so now that people can see him again, he is having a hard time actually talking to Emmerson. But of course Emmerson just keeps at it, because he likes West and is tired of being used by others in town.

Although this is book 4 in a series, you can totally read this book as a stand alone. There are references to action that happened in previous books, but it's more like background information about the town and how our two MCs know each other. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review, so I personally have not read the other books, but I never felt lost or confused about what was happening. Very well done blending of past events into the current story without bogging down this story.

Now just because it is very stand alone, and the main arc is complete, doesn't mean there isn't drama and action. Of course a conduit (West) that can draw on a very powerful witch (Emmerson) isn't going to go smoothly. West still seems to phase out now and then, so this makes dating a little tricky. Add in Emmerson still hasn't found his Call (magical specialization), and it's just one misstep after another. But the redemption is really sweet and well deserved. So if you like the previous books in the series, I'm guessing you will like this one as well. Who doesn't love side characters getting their own story? And even if you haven't and want to get a peek of what this series is about, you can jump in here and not feel lost.

When I read the novella for this series, I was not expecting to fall into an entire series of magical beings and their awkward but adorable attempts and finding and keeping love. However, I have enjoyed this series so much; it’s just thing I was looking for and wishing existed. A magical small town filled with witches and their various specialties? Yes, please!

After reading the events in the last book, I was anxious to learn what would become of West. My heart broke for him and all that he went through but to avoid spoilers, I won’t go into much detail.

Emerson put up a good front on being this dreamy guy, but it was obvious that deep down he had some secrets of his own. I cheered for both him and West when they started to actually communicate with each other. Yet, the inevitable drama occured. I understand why it happened but felt that it wasn’t entirely necessary to further the plot. I loved the gradual build that West and Emerson were forming before the drama happened, and it kind of stalled the flow a bit.

Nevertheless, I am gutted to say goodbye to this series. I doubt I will find another one like it, but I have hope that the authors will create another world just as charming and magical as Daydream. I for one can’t wait to read it.

Spectral by A.M Rose is the final book in the Daydream, Colorado series. Daydream has been one of my favorite places to escape for the past year for two reasons. First, I live in Colorado IRL and enjoy reading tales set there, especially the fantastic. Second, I enjoy the magic world created by the authors, as it is unlike any other I’ve read. The authors certainly put Emmerson and West through some major trials before they were able to find their HEA. This being romance, the main characters of course did not talk to each other or coordinate their efforts to fix the magic problem between them. The resolution turned out to be both dramatic and satisfying. Since this is the last in the series, it was fun to see all the other couples come together at the end (not really a spoiler). I always wish when authors create intriguing magical/paranormal worlds that they use their worldbuilding to its fullest. I believe A.M. Rose has done this. What do you say about the wrapup of a series that has given you such joy in such a crazed time? Spectral is the conclusion of the world of Daydream, CO (koff, Mal and Thorne??) Emmie and West are introduced in Nick and Felix's story, Emmie as the apprentice to Mal and West as mostly dead. West is "resuscitated" but he and Emmie are still linked to each other and not in a good way. So in addition to trying to figure out this link, these two sweeties are also trying to figure out who they are and who they are when they are with each other, which they really want to be! There were times so tender, times so sexy, times so sad. And we also have times with the other denizens of Daydream! Loved it! Needless to say, this is a romance, everything gets figured out in the end with West making such a sacrifice and Em finally saying yes to his Call. And epilogue...chef's perfection. This is not a standalone, you need to start at the .5 but you will not regret it!

Oh, got this as an ARC, honest review, yadda, yadda, yadda!

More Please!

I love this book. I love this series. I love how the author takes you into this town full of magic and shows you what it would be like if you had magic and how you would live day to day with it. The floating plates and the floating hairbrush and all these floating objects.. Magical. I love that . I hope there are more books to come. I just love this series so much. It really takes me away. I cannot put these books down.

I would love to see the next book on Malachi and Hawthorne's relationship. I am so curious about it. How did they meet? How did these two opposite people come together? How did they meet Emerson and sort of adopt him?And the next book I would like to read about is Dylan and Jamie's relationship. We were just given hints about them. And maybe about the owner of Pizza&Paws. How did he get that pizza place started and how did the dog learn to deliver pizza? So I hope there are more books to come. Malachi and Hawthorne next please. My request is floating to the author.

Spectral is the last book in the Daydream series; We have Emmerson and West, they are really sweet together, we see them in a situation with quite a few elements of angst trying to get their lives back and find the worth that makes them worthy of affection.
Emmerson is adorable, with a great need for affection and does not know his magic very well, as a result of that ignorance in saving West´s life creates a bond between the two that leads them to go through difficult times. West is shy and after what happened with him, he felt very insecure.
Emmerson is determined to befriend West, all his attempts to jump the barriers of West´s shyness are very sweet and fun, Emmerson´s colourful personalities and the calmer sweetness of West makes them a couple of the most charming, you just want to see them reach their HEA, and when they achieve it is the sweetest thing. Love MCs.

I am so sorry to see the Daydream, Colorado series end.
As always, I enjoyed seeing characters from previous books. They support the storyline and add a little extra color to the piece.
Emmerson and West are genuinely endearing characters. Their personalities and outlook made me want to grab them both up and shelter them from the hard times they were destined to have. I won't say more about that because...spoilers. But it was so heartbreaking at times that I had to put the book down and gather myself. It made me appreciate the humor and quirky parts even more.
The premise is unique, and there is a nice flow throughout the work. The romance is sweet and spicy, and their HEA is believable.
I could go on and on about this book and this series, but I won't, other than to highly recommend them. I will make it a point to re-read these many times in the future.
I look forward to more from these authors.

Spectral is the conclusion of the Daydream Colorado series and I will miss this town so much. But I love the way that extroverted and needy Emerson and introverted and tortured West come together in the end. Felix and Nick try to help Emerson and West deal with their feelings while with Malachi and Hawthorne help the deal with their out of control magic. West's courtship of Emerson gave me all the warm and gooey feels and the ending was just the right amount of excitement. All the wonderful couples in Daydream are also a part of their journey (loved the picnic scene).
I also have to say that the book covers for this series are excellent and would love to transform my room into such a magical space.
This series is so good and I can't wait to see where the next one takes us.

I am so sad to be leaving Daydream, but I am also so happy that everyone got their happy ending. There were some tense moments in Spectral, and AM Rose had me legitimately worried during the climax, again! One of the things I love about AM Rose's writing is the excellent tension and anxiety they build in the rising action of their stories. It makes them IMPOSSIBLE not to finish once you get there! I absolutely love Emerson's chaotic energy and free spirit - all of him just makes me so happy. I also love the quiet, grounding influence West has on him. I can't tell you how much I appreciate when a main character is in love with the other's sparkly, over the top personality. I am now going to go back and re-read everyone's stories so I don't have to leave Daydream.

Creating balance

Spectral is a fitting finale for the Daydream, Colorado series. After defeating what was plaguing the town, all that’s left is clean up and recovery, something that applies equally well to Emmerson and West. These two make an adorable couple, but they both have enough esteem issues to keep a fleet of therapists busy. I like how they started bolstering each other. I did not like their avoidance of problems and running away, however. Fortunately Em is the forgiving sort, at least with the right incentive. I’m glad Em found his balance and learned to see his own power and worth and that West left hiding behind him in favor of being with Em. It’s great seeing all the other familiar faces of Daydream too, as they all rally together. This really did end on a high note.
