Other than the first Mars series, the Time series is my favorite. I've read all but 3 books that Cidney has written (I'll get on those soon, I promise! 😉) and can definitely say that A Passage in Time is one of her better individual works.
I love DaVinci, and Quintus and the rest of the crew, but I especially love how this story really works in the human angles of 'what if I was wrong'? and all the repercussions of how our choices affect the bigger story, while also adding in a bunch of lightheartedness (and always, the nerdiness!) that makes these books fun to read.
How can you have a 'bad guy' when none of our crew know he exists? Who is it that actually messes up the timeline? And how on earth can they fix what went wrong when they have no idea what the one thing was that changed everything else?
If you haven't read any of the Thief in Time series yet, definitely go back to beginning on this one - it's worth it to see how the story grows and changes and how all of the characters adapt to what the timeline seems to throw their way.
Happy Reading!

Brilliant

This is just a good as all the previous books. Now how long till the next one ? Some of the science was confusing but the emotion carried the day. Thank you Cidney Swanson for a truly enjoyable story. 100% recommended to all readers.

Quintus wants to alter the past to remove a smear from Julius Caesar's reputation. DaVinci tries to dissuade him. That's all I really cared about. There were tons more characters and plots that didn't interest me.

The seventh book in this (Thief in Time) series -that includes characters such as the Wright Brothers, Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare, Alexander Hamilton, and Maxfield Parrish- focuses on Walt Disney. Well, sort of.

I grew up on Sunday night Disney shows. I went to the World's Fair in Flushing NY where the original exhibition of It's a Small World enchanted me (I made my folks take me several times). I went to the movie theater 13 times to watch Mary Poppins (pre VHS and DVD). I had a fit when my Dad wouldn't buy me Disney shares (his mistake!). And sadly, I've never been to Disney World (but I really want to go).

I can't imagine a world without Walt Disney.

In a Passage in Time that might be what happens.

In this installment of the time travelers adventures DeVinci and Quintus are front and center, hoping to correct a potential incident of slander to Julius Caesar's name. Somewhere in that visit to 1935 things go wrong and they have no idea why, it all seems so unrelated. Somehow Disneyland (or any theme park for that matter) doesn't exist.

In writing about events that may have changed the dreams of almost every child in the world Cidney Swanson did her homework and found one small incident in the Disneys life to mention. I find it fascinating to learn about a moment in Walt Disney's life. And though this is peripheral to the main action in the story, it is the key to it all.

Quintus is not a happy Roman. Something has come to light that isn’t exactly kind to his hero’s reputation and he and his girlfriend DaVinci need to travel back to 1935 to get rid of the evidence.

Meanwhile Robert Duval is building his own time machine in order to eradicate Disneyland from history after he was banned from the House of Mouse as a child.

What follows is a fun timey-whimey jaunt to 1930’s France where Quintus & DaVinci need to remove the slanderous evidence against Caesar whilst trying not to change history for ever.

Cidney Swanson has created a collection of engaging characters and fun plots in the Thief In Time series of which this is book #7.

Dropping the cast into the middle of a trip by Walt Disney and his family to the south of France gives the reader a chance to enjoy the plot whilst learning a few interesting facts about the father of Mickey Mouse.

The plot races along and delivers some twists along the way – we also see the development of a genius, possible super villain, foil for DaVinci and the gang as the series progresses. Robert may be a genius but is he also ‘Plane Crazy’. You’ll need to read the book to find out

I found this great fun to read and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys anything involving Time Travel, History or Walt Disney

How do you prove that your time machine works? Prove something exists, then vanish it by changing events. Then hand over proof. It's more complicated than it sounds. In this case, no Disneyland is proof the time machine is working.

I love time travel books. They always make you think. Could this work, and what if it could? What would happen if...? This book fulfilled and kept my curiosity going. Because of the Disney monopoly, I had mixed feelings about reading a book about Walt and the beginnings. At the same time, though broke most of my life, our family did have some fun times at Disneyland. I would cry at the end of every Mickey Mouse Club and Wonderful World of Disney as a girl. So Disney impacted my life. Without those memories, how would I know if I didn't have them? Maybe other memories would be as sweet?

And this book continues the adventures set up in previous A Thief In Time books. So you get to see how old friends are doing.

I highly recommend this and all Cidney Swanson series.

I thoroughly loved this book and simply couldn’t put it down! I am a sucker for a good time travel story, and this series puts a great modern twist on the genre.

This book is based between the present day and 1935 and centres around a small moment from Walt Disney’s life and saving Disneyland in the future. It reminded me of the butterfly effect theory and how a small change can have a huge impact. Also the idea that meddling with time may not just be all fun and games.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading a story that focuses on the characters of DaVinci and Quintus. Cidney, you did it again - this book is amazing!

10/10 would definitely recommend!!
