Comprehensive guidebook for those undergoing kundalini awakening, including psychological skills, exercises, nutritional program and a novel approach to the science of spiritual alchemy. A manual listing symptoms, practices and health suggestions to reassure the reader that transmutation and the evolutionary process of metamorphosis is both normal and essential. Kundalini awakening is extraordinary and so we must go to extraordinary lengths to explore, investigate and adapt to this...the most wondrous time of our lives—waking up to a "deeper" experience of being human. Having gone through two kundalini awakenings New Zealander Jana Dixon was compelled to write a manual for others to help guide them through the difficult stages of the inner transformation. There is no life passage more extreme and more magical than kundalini awakenings. As more people awaken to the fire of life a transcendental culture will be born from the profound knowledge arising from the inner flame.
I think this book is an excellent resource, perhaps the only one of its kind. Full of information, it is also quite courageous, almost like a 'coming out' in a world that does not understand what this is all about. Sometimes knowing a great deal about a subject can cloud the waters i.e. information overload and this is where a physical teacher can guide someone having kundalini experiences.
I would disagree with a comment in her opening chapter / statement where she writes "The Eastern teachers and traditions cannot help us in the West with this problem, for our biophysical, mental and social make up is quite different to what has historically been the case in the East." My own experience has shown that occasionally a teacher does successfully bring the consciousness and practices of the East across to the West e.g. Dean Das - Mind Yoga, Melbourne Australia.
Some areas of this self-published book ramble a bit. However one cannot help to give it at least 6 stars.
Still reading.....she needed a better editor. If the first 40 pages are any indication of the organization of the remainder of the contents, then I am in for a frustrating read.
Thank Goodness for this book. I cannot imagine surrendering to the Fire of Transformation without this book containing spiritual wisdom and advice from someone who has undergone a mature Spiritual Awakening with such passion, sincerity and imagination. And that's aside from the fascinating break-down of the biological mechanisms of the Kundalini acting upon one's body and the ground-breaking information about diet. All written from a down-to-earth, loving place. This book is your friend on the path, a veritable bible for those engaged in the process of metamorphosis, having friends or family members in the transformational fire or those ready and willing to let go and surrender their conditioning in favor of the Beauty-Love-Intelligence of their Sacred Selves.
this book was tremendously redundant. the writer keeps repeating their ideas through each chapter and saying the same exact things in each paragraph. i could not get to really read a paragraph other than speed read each page...
i don't like to write negative reviews, but i do think there is an obligation to warn the readers not to waste their time with a book that was quickly written without any editor going through it before its final draft.
maybe, if the reader enjoys to read about other people's theory of how they've "popped", then this book is for you. if you want to learn from an unprejudiced objective point of view, i would skip this and get a different book.
This is a book I'm always reading. It has many sources and links to more information. It's especially good for people just awakening as it validates the different things that happen to us as we become more authentic. The truth is we have to go within or go without. It's still a wonderful book and I'd recommend it to anyone struggling with the changes we go through.
Let's just say it is a life saver as I have been going through a very strange, dark, exhilarating, confusing, frightening, blessed and hardest part of my life to date. Thank you for explaining it, teaching to love it and how to deal with the more challenging aspects of it.
