It’s very frustrating for the first 75% of the book. Our MMC is so up and down constantly. He also has double standards. It wasn’t well explained why he was like that till later in the book. I almost DNF’d but then bam the tables flip. I loved when our FMC found her voice and stood her ground! The abuse was hash for the first half. So may want to skip if that is a trigger for you.

No cheating. No OW drama. Minuscule OM drama but FMC does not entertain it.

I love how Clarice slowly turned the Kings humanity back on. However her awful father caused her to lose her own. The King had to really fight for Clarice and their love to get her to turn back on her humanity. It was beautiful how he opened up to her. The hurt he experienced really shaped him and made him doubtful. Yes he was a monster but he changed for her. He treated her as his equal! I loved his “proposal” and him having her thrown matching his. I also loved their announcement to the people that they were expecting. His sister escaping with her mate was exciting too bad I couldn’t finish it thanks to the app being awful.

Long, and almost quit in the first 1/3rd of the book. Decided to stick it out. It was an interesting story, glad he finally had some clarity at the end and understanding enough to know how to help her find a balance too.
