"There are no rules for how you're supposed to feel."
This is my first Ginie romance and I am ecstatic to say that I adored it. It had everything! Every desire of my heart was there on the pages of this book.
Short Summary
We are introduced to Dolly Jones, who has been through a difficult time and is punishing herself by avoiding anything and everything she likes in her life, as this is how she can come to terms with what happened last year.
She had just bought a new vase to replace the one she broke, and for some reason, she felt compelled to kiss it. Out comes a half-naked Ginie, who starts browsing through her things as if he has every right to do so. Whatever Dolly has planned for the rest of her life just got defenestrated, while she tries to figure out what to do next.
Velis, the ginie, has waited a long time for his new Master. He too has a goal to achieve, which is to collect as many human souls as possible so that he can win the contest that is going to determine the next heir. He just needs to fulfil Dolly's heart's greatest desires to get her soul, and then he can move on to a new Master.
Characters: Dolly is sassy, funny, and very relatable; you can't help but root for her. Her growth throughout the book is one of the most beautiful things to read. Her banter with Velis had me laughing out loud.
Besides Dolly, Velis too had a good development throughout the book. Being a half-djinn and half-nymph, he has had to prove himself in every step of his life. They are both extremely lovable, comforting, and relatable characters. And after reading this, I think everyone needs Velis and Dolly in their life.
Side Characters: Shout out to Arrik and Evaris, as they were my favorite characters, only second to Velis and Dolly (who are both in first place).
Plot, Pacing and world-building: It's a well-paced, well-structured, and extremely well-written novel, full of quotable and lovely lines. It immediately drew me in, and I didn't want it to finish. It was packed with a few twists, which I also did not see coming.
The Djinn world-building was fantastic, but at the same time, we also see how beautiful the human world can be. There was not even a single false moment where I felt that this was a book and the situation was not possible in real life. Often in romance-focused books, the world building suffers a bit, but not here. The author has done a wonderful job, and if I may say, they did a bomb-ass job of creating the Djinn world and the magic system.
Vibes: This book was wholesome, uplifting, and emotionally freeing. It felt like a nice warm hug when needed the most. During the whole read, I had a smile on my face, and even when I was not reading, I was thinking about Dolly and Velis and their romance.
Recommendation: This book deserves a chance in every reader's TBR.

This was such a heartwarming read! It's my first time reading a genie romance and I must say... I'M ALL HERE FOR IT! 😍❤️
Dolly had no idea that her newest thrift-shop purchase was home to a hot genie.. and now she's stuck with him until he grants her her wishes and collects her soul... Problem is: Dolly is determined to avoid any type of desire or pleasure, to repent for a huge past mistake...
The dynamic between these two was filled with humorous banter. These two are stubborn, and sometimes childish, neither wants to admit the attraction to one another. The slow burn romance was adorable and I found myself giggling while reading. Forced proximity is one of my favorite tropes alongside one-bed, both are included in the story, which caused my heart to give little thumps of joy!
Overall a magical uplifting read that will make you swoon! Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review.

This was a quick binge read for me. It was light (for the most part…check TW!) and the banter was so much fun! This was my first ever urban fantasy with a genie as a character, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Def recommend if you’re looking for an atypical urban fantasy and a quick, fun read!

This book was so much fun!!! It was cute, entertaining, and a pretty unique setting and storyline - plus Brindi Quinn’s usual exciting writing style. It was truly funny and really sweet, the perfect light fantasy book.

August 29, 2022COME TRUE was a super fun, super cute frenemies-to-lovers romance starring a genie and and a human who most certainly doesn’t believe in genies. They both come from difficult pasts, and their pasts are interfering with the futures and the happiness they could have. Their respective journeys to self-healing were so much fun, but often very heart-wrenching as they see past hurts through a different lens. They both go through a lot of work (and a TON of fun) through the course of this book, to their eventual (and reluctant) HEA.
I absolutely adored everything about this book. Vellis was so adorable and so charming, and he possesses a naïveté and an innocence that was just so pure. Don’t be confused though — the genie knows his way around a woman, and he indeed has a naughty streak.
Dolly Jones is his jaded human counterpart who’s been living without fun or enjoyment for the better part of a year due to past circumstances. Vellis not only shines a bright spot in her bleak existence, he’s also able to show her that she’s not the one to blame for the aforementioned circumstances, nor does she deserve this self-punishment. Together, they’re able to help one another heal, and it’s such a fun time watching them grow closer and closer through the book.
All told, a sweet, fun, and funny romance between a genie and his reluctant master. Many thanks to MTMC Tours and Brindi Quinn for providing a copy of the book for the tour.

This book made me giggle, it was just really cute and a lot of fun to read. The characters’ personalities complemented each other well and the mystery of how they were connected was bittersweet. It was a very unique and original story filled with great world building and lovable characters, it felt like a mashup of a romcom and a portal fantasy.

Oh this book. This is such a gem, I loved it so much ! I wasn't sure at first, I was afraid that a romance including a genie would be cheesy but IT'S MAGNIFICENT!!!! Slow and fast-building love at the same time (when you'll read it you'll know), the humor is perfect, the two main characters (Dolly and Velis) are sublime.
I honestly have nothing bad to say about this other than I wasn't ready to let them go. I savoured the last pages over a couple of days because I couldn't let myself to devoured them.

With a colloquial writing style that makes it easy to get into and enjoy, Brindi throws you into a magically world filled with witty banter, the sweetest kind of asshole-ish comforting, tension for days, and a wonderfully created story that will keep you entertained! Thoroughly loved this book. I laughed out loud multiple times and had heart eyes through most of it! It comes out around July 9th. This one should be an instant on your TBR🤍

Ahh, this was such an adorable book. I was in the midst of a huge book slump and I just needed something easy, fast paced, and witty. I was so grateful that I picked up this book because it gave exactly what needed to be given. I adored the characters, the tension, and the storyline. Highly recommend!

From the very first page, Come True captivates. It’s not the swoon-worthy genie you fall for first, no, it’s our main character Dolly Jones (not a pornstar, just a smokeshow).
Brindi Quinn truly does deliver on all aspects: top-rate world building, believable and humorous banter, beautiful imagery, and TENSION. So. Much. Tension.
Romantic tension, but also tension within the plot. There was not a single moment of reading where I didn’t want to know what happened next. While comedic, there are more serious undertones to the story which made me fall even deeper into the world. Her descriptive writing had me feeling the feelings, smelling the smells, and seeing the sights. I loved the characters (even the gross and creepy ones), and it was easy to see there is depth to each personality – I was actually a little sad the book wasn’t longer so we could delve further into each supporting role.
This is a true-blue romantic comedy, perfect to pick up and indulge in at any time. There’s a reason she’s known for her spice, sparkle, and SWOON! Entertaining doesn’t even begin to cover it. Who wouldn’t want a djinn whose only purpose was to grant your deepest heart’s desire?

I was able to grab an ARC of this book! (Thank you, IG.) I haven't seen a djinn romance done like this before. I loved the relationship between Dolly and her genie, Velis. It was very fast paced and had a bunch of teasing / flirting /back-and-forth in the middle of the plot. I also liked that it wasn't just a smutty romance. I enjoyed the storyline about Velis' brothers chasing after them, and the journey through Makaya trying to figure out what was going on with Dolly's soul. The world was big and felt real and magical. There was lots of good visualization. And the time travel part/twists were so unexpected. I read this author's other books, and this was her funniest one, so I hope she writes more like that. It had a lot of elements that came together for an awesome and unique story - humor, romance, tension, action, mystery, character growth, a huge fantasy world, sweet moments, hot moments, wit, magic, real-world problems, redemption, and whatever else I can't think of. I'm excited for the next book.

This book is here to remind us to make genies more relevant in romance. I want all of the genie romance now! I mean…the potential for romance subgenres is endless. *devotes herself to thorough research*
Come True was a delightful romance, which I drank in like fresh water from the very first page. It’s fun, different, and deeply emotional, too. Our protagonist, Dolly, is haunted by a mistake that has brought her upon a self-alienating path. That is, until she accidentally summons a genie, who wants nothing more to grant her wishes…and claim her soul before his brothers get to her first.
Now that sounds ominous, right? But Velis couldn’t be the furthest thing from a shady character. On the contrary, he was sassy and very thoughtful. A cinnamon bun wrapped in a sinnamon bun’s crust, if you get what I mean. A combination of sweet and sinful that makes him impossible to resist. Dolly sure has a hard time reminding herself she has three more weeks of repenting to do.
What I loved most about this romance was how Dolly and Velis helped each other heal from their insecurities and emotional traumas. Their stories and backgrounds are different, but in a way they’re very much the same—beautiful souls, lonely and scorned. They were there for each other when others had turned their backs on them. There were a few instances where I found their dialogues to be a bit childish, and the fact that Velis was often described as a “boy” sometimes clashed with the image of the hot stud I was trying to picture based on his description.
The steam in this book is mild—on page, but described in a way that appeals to both lovers of spice and those who prefer a milder romance, so it’s definitely a book I recommend to all lovers of the genre!

Come True is one of the cutest, funniest, kick ass love story that I've read in quite a while. I fell in love with the two main characters, Dolly and Velis from the very beginning. It was awesome to watch their relationship progress from Master and genie to friends to more than friends. They're both dealing with their own problems in their lives when something stronger than themselves manages to bring them together for reasons unbeknownst to both of them!!!
Hands down, I give Brindi Quinn's 'COME TRUE' 5 stars. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes cute, funny, romances. This isn't the last we've read of Brindi Quinn. I can't wait to read the sequel to Come True.

This was so flipping cute! I loved the interaction between the characters. I had never read a genie romance before and this didnt disappoint. I laughed with the banter and the stubborn ways of both MCs. Both hotheads and definitely stubborn! Not only did we get a slowburn romance but we also got mental health rep and comical dialogue. Super heartfelt with regards to the character healing and development. This story is great for YA readers for sure. There is some spice but not too much. My daughter has officially added it to her TBR, there's not a lot of Genie Romances out there!
I enjoyed the dynamic between Velis and Dolly. Looking forward to more!

This was such fun and fantastical read that is set in a low fantasy world were realms are mixed with reality.
Dolly is snarky and full of witty humor which makes for great banter between her and Velis- the equally sarcastic, ever persistent genie.
Both are thrown together for a mission that Velis needs to finish but Dolly stands in his way. Until, she starts to soften to Velis and decides to help him.

Dolly is snarky and full of witty humor which makes for great banter between her and Velis- the equally sarcastic, ever persistent genie.
Both are thrown together for a mission that Velis needs to finish but Dolly stands in his way. Until, she starts to soften to Velis and decides to help him.

The definition of magic.
This is my first genie romance and my first by Brindi Quinn. And it certainly won't be my last.
I swear, I fell in love from the very first sentence.
The way Quinn writes is amazing, lyrical and so full of magic itself. This paranormal romance is something you never knew you needed until you read it and fall in love. AND THAT COVER. *swoons*
The slow-burn mixed with fast-burn romance, the immediate sinking to each other, the way they fall, ugh I love them both so much.
It's such a close call but I think I love Velis the most. His selfishness and cockiness really hiding his layers of self doubt and low self esteem. And Dolly falling in love with him despite all that.
Everything about Come True sucks you in. From the magic itself, to the characters, to their banter. Everything.
I think my family got *is* concerned for me whilst I was reading this, cause I laughed at nearly every chapter, and even teared up several times.
This book will tear your heart out, make you laugh and believe in love again.

And I can honestly say this book definitely deserves at least five stars. It is a fast-paced read that leaves you wondering what Velis (aka hot, newbie, genie) and (attitude filled, twenty-four year old) Dolly Jones are doing now. You will not be disappointed. It's beautifully written and I mean come on, who doesn't like swoon and magical stuff. Brindi Quinn has done it yet again.

Dolly Jones wants to atone for past sins. She shaved her head almost a year ago and still refuses to indulge in anything. When Veris, a djinn, shows up after she kisses a vase, she wants nothing to do with his wishes. She still has two weeks of penance to pay. Unfortunately, Veris needs her to make her wishes so he can move on and collect more souls. This is a MF romance, with drugs and alcohol, racial prejudice, violence, and cheating.
This book was one of the best review books I have ever read. The plot was believable and had me hooked. I’m going to buy it so that I can share it with my best friend. The writing was very well done, with no errors that I could find. I was absorbed in the story the entire time I was reading. I only thought of one thing I would have had to happen, but it could easily be something that happens in the next book.
The world was very interesting. It's the bigger the wish,the more of your soul it costs. Humans in this world don’t need souls, so it’s win-win for everyone. The soul power the djinn collect lets them grant more wishes. It’s like a currency for them. There is the Djinn world and hints of other worlds to come! It’s exciting to think of all the possibilities for book two!
Dolly and Veris are relatable characters. Dolly wants so badly to atone for something she believes she did wrong. Veris wants to prove he is just as valuable despite what society thinks. Veris is not like most men I have read. He is a breath of fresh air and he may be my new favorite. The villains all are also well developed and make sense. They seemed real and had real goals.
This book is everything you could want in a paranormal romance. It had a great love story, great conflict, and a great world. I would pay the price a normal print books costs ($15) to have this at home. It would definitely be worth it. I’m considering buying a copy for friends who would probably like it.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance and would like a slightly different paranormal. Also, anyone who likes romance with subtle world building.

I loved this book from the moment I picked it up. Firstly form the stunning cover to the amazing blurb. I was instantly interested and drawn to it. I just knew I had to read it. And I was right, here is why:
the tropes (forced proximity, the one bed trope, one of them is an empath (I consider this a trope since it comes with special abilities to put some spice to the story), “we can't have feeling for one another”...)
the banter (o mi gosh I enjoyed reading this book its character interactions were amazingly written and felt real)
the tension (the seggsual tension was present the whole time and the mc's actually pulled it off pretty well - not your typical ones that just get realy embarrassed and flush) (the spicy scenes were good ;) )
the trigger warnings (I liked that the author pointed them out and that they were actually really crucial to the story, not just a character trait like most other books. But in this one it showcased it pretty well and how everyone dealt with it)
the emotion (there were a lot of emotional scenes that really did it for me and made me love the characters more- really well written)
I read this book in A day because it was really interesting, the world building, the characters and mostly the whole experience (writing style, Dolly's sense of humor, the attractive people).
I ate this book up. It's NA which made it soo much better. It wasn't cringe or super awkward and has made its way to being one of my favorite books so far.
The author is definitely going to be an instant buy.

I loved the cover of this book, but I’ve never read a genie, or djinn, romance. I just wasn’t sure it would be my thing. But I managed to get an advanced reader’s copy and…THIS BOOK!!! THIS FREAKING BOOK!!!! I loved EVERYTHING about this FANTASTIC book!! Not sure another genie romance will do it for me or not, because it’s this author’s writing!! I’ve never read anything by her before, but she joined Midnight Tide Publishing and I love their books, so I shouldn’t be surprised!!!
The plot grabs you right away, and is nicely paced. It didn’t drag at all, it kept you invested in the lives of Dolly and Velis throughout!! The characters were so awesome, I loved Dolly and Velis so much!! Their romance snuck up on them, no matter how badly they tried to deny it. They both have been through hard times in life and they reveal this to each other gradually.
Velis’ three creepy triplet brothers are so awful. But written really well awful!! Then Velis takes Dolly to his world and the world building made me feel like I was actually there seeing it!! I won’t give away too much, but that was a lot of fun!!
This is a five star, brilliantly written book, that you do not want to miss!! You can preorder now on Amazon, and it is coming out 4/27, so a couple of weeks away!!! I can’t wait to buy a copy for my bookshelf!!

So thankful to Instagram for allowing me to get an ARC of this book!
I will say this was my first ever djinn romance and I think I may be hooked! The relationship between Dolly and Velis wow! Fast pasted, fun, flirty, all while still keeping up an exciting plot!
I loved the story line all together. Trying to figure out while Dolly and Velis can’t be tethered together. Velis’ brothers chasing after them trying to see if they can instead tether to her and steal her away from him.
Oh but the twist at the end! I cannot wait for the next book as they travel on their next adventure together!

Okay so I’m officially in my genie era now because of this book and I’m so happy about it. Come True was absolutely phenomenal! This book was everything I wanted and more! It had the light hearted and gentle feel of a romantic comedy and the magical and mystical elements of a paranormal romance.
The characters were amazing and flawed and wonderful, and I loved the intense chemistry between Dolly, our FMC, and Velis, our Genie MMC. Without giving too much away, these two are exactly what the other needed. Velis is literally the definition of a golden retriever MMC - he’s sweet and protective and you can’t help but fall in love with his energy. He’s been through a lot in his life and he’s trying to prove himself to everyone around him. Dolly is harboring some intense guilt from a situation in her past, and is on the path of self-imposed atonement when she finds Velis’ vessel in a thrift store.
When she brings it home and finds out it’s essentially a genie lamp, she’s not sure what to make of everything, but she’s not mad at the hot genie that comes to life before her eyes. These two are everything to me. Their banter and chemistry is so beautiful, fun, and healing. I loved their journey so much and it really kept me guessing when things were coming to light the more they dug into the mystery of Dolly’s soul. I was super intrigued and the plot kept me glued to the pages because I had to find out what was going on between these two. I love that they had each other through everything they went through in this book, and that they were so supportive of each other. They both found exactly what they were looking for, and found their old wounds healed, and it was so beautiful to see it all unfold.
This book had it all! It had the romance, it had moments where I literally laughed out loud and there were moments that made me tear up. Velis’ brothers add an element of suspense to the story because I was wondering if they were going to show up out of the blue. I have so many questions about them and I know for a fact I need more Arrik in my life because I’m super intrigued by him.
Overall, I DEFINITELY recommend this one! It’s got something for everyone and while it’s a fun, romcom PNR, it’s also got emotional elements and healing journeys that will make your heart so happy. I cannot wait to jump into Book 2!

Wow, wow, wow. This book pulled me in fast! Do you ever read something and it feels like one of your friends wrote it but in the best possible way? This was that feeling for me! Everything felt so natural! I don’t remember a single instance where I fell out of the story and had to remind myself to suspend my disbelief for the sake of the romance or the fantasy. Djinn exist and they can fall in love, too! And that, in my opinion, is the best kind of fantasy romance.

Velis and Dolly are so easy to root for and love. Their connection was immediate and it was so frustratingly fun and bittersweet to watch them fall so hard for each other. I loved that we got to see them grow to love each other and also take steps towards loving themselves.I just want to protect both of them from everyone else and from themselves. Can they stay tiny inside a locked cabinet inside a locked closet inside a locked room inside a locked manor forever please?! Also Dolly’s comment about the MMC always being centuries old in a teenage body? The shade of it all 😂 Their tiny age gap was cute and refreshing!

Also the world building here? I need more! This wasn’t just a romance with a sprinkle of fantasy. Brindi laid down such a good foundation to expand her universe in this book. It’s not too complicated to understand and it’s different from anything I’ve seen. I’m so here for it.

This was an EASY 5 star read for me, y'all, oh my goodness!! Typically, I would've NEVER guessed I'd be gushing so hard over a genie romance but here we are, head over heels. I freaking LOVED this unique premise, the smooth, fast-paced plot, the addictive writing style, and most especially--the swoonworthy chemistry between Dolly and Velis!
Dolly's mysterious self-punishment and quirky inner dialogue had me intrigued from the very first paragraph. And then I was pumped when several chapters throughout were from Velis' perspective as well!! Their grumpy/sunshine energy was absolute perfection--so different and fresh and altogether phenomenally written. ALL the sexual tension and cute banter you love to see in a toe-curling rom com, blended with paranormal elements in a lush, fantastical world--it reminded me of the Heart Hassle series in this way.
The falling action and conclusion of the book blew my mind. I love to see time travel incorporated in paranormal/fantasy romance and this one even included alien vibes?? MADE FOR ME. Fans of fantasy romance, rom com, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy--you MUST give this book a try!! I am so obsessed and determined to work this author's backlist onto my TBR as soon as I can.

I devoured this book, it was exactly the kind of book I needed at the perfect time! I don't even know where to start on how much I loved this book...
Dolly amazing, hilarious, fiesty and God damn perfect she seemed like she was going to be a bit flat at first I was worried after depriving herself of life how was she going to keep me invested but dammmnnnnn she came to stay!! She brought humour and snark to the story that honestly made me love her.
Vel God damn blue/blonde (if you know you know 😉) haired hercules I just loved him! I love how much he pushed Dolly to be who she is, I love how he was fighting for what was right not just because. I love everything about him he was just amazing!
And their relationship God damn it was fire! If you like spice this probably isn't the book for you there isn't a lot of spice but what their is, is chemistry that is out of this world and a partnership and comradory between them both that honestly reflects the kind of relationship we should all look for it wasn't overly cheesy or too much for me anyway it made me laugh and it hit the mark it made me route for them and stay up till midnight to night's in a row just because I had to know how it ended.
The plot had me hooked from the beginning I was desperate to know how dolly got to where she was and what was going to happen at the end and it wasn't what I expected it made me love this book even more for the twist and turns it took me on.
If your looking for a new fantasy romance to keep you up at night this is it!! I highly recommend this to anyone, I can't wait to read more!

Dolly Jones is close to completing a year long repentance for the night she cheated on her boyfriend that she can't remember. She ventures to a thrift shop to replace her broken vase when she gets home she discovers its much more than a vase. She meets the striking genie in the bottle, Velis, a half djinn/half nymph. He wants her soul, needs it desperately to beat his triplet brothers to take the throne from their father. Despite her wishes he can't tether to her. Her soul is locked & with her self imposed atonement she can't indulge in anything or anyone. Through both the djinn and human world they must work together to unlock her soul or they'll never be free of each other.
I loved the dynamics of the characters, the quips back and forth, & most of all the growing but undeniable feelings for one another. A true example of the age old addage, opposites attract!

I am in love with this book. I loved following the story of Dolly Jones and Velis Reilhander. I loved watching the live grow between them and finding out stuff from the past which leads to an amazing ending. I want to say more but then you wouldn’t have to read the book lol. So let’s just say I highly highly recommend this book to everyone. Just trust me when I say yes the chapters are long but you won’t regret it at all. Also my least favorite person is James, Gabe and the rest of that snobby gang of meaner’s lol.

Wow it was sooooo good.
It was the kind of book I couldn't put down until I finished it.
It was so much fun and interesting. I didn't get bored, not even once.
The badass FMC and the sassy MMC both were swoon worthy. Bonus points: there was no love triangle (phew).
I don't know the hero Ardette or someone the author mentioned in the acknowledgement but I do love Vel soooo much. The author is making our standards high, not complaining though.
I already suspected the James and Gabe theory so it would be nice to have a little story about them getting the taste of their own medicine.
It was the kind of book I couldn't put down until I finished it.

My first romance with the genie trope and I'm pleasantly suprised of how engrossing this was. It's original, fun, and bingeable.
