Some people were destined to find love.
Some were destined to destroy it.

I was chaos.
She was my sanctuary.
I was lethal.
She was curious.
Together we were the perfect storm.

Then the unthinkable happened. And I was to blame.
Now I was on a path of self-destruction paved in secrets and lies.
Until something stopped me dead in my tracks.
Something I never expected.
A truth that made me want to set the world on fire.

If the sins of the father were passed down to the son, then we were all damned.

That’s right, baby.
I’m the guy who will bend you over and eat that ass from behind. I’ll shove two fingers in your greedy little cunt then
fuck you ‘til you weep.
And that thing you like? The one you’re too ashamed to tell anyone about?
Yeah, I’ll do that too...

Guys. This man. This broken, devoted sexy af book boyfriend is one of my ABSOLUTE favourite book boyfriends of they year, if not ever. Hallowed Eve was intense as fuck, angsty, sexy as hell holy shit and omg I couldn't stop turning the pages to see what the f was going to happen next! The emotions were off the chart. I thought my heart was going to explode! I am STILL not over this story. It was everything I hoped it would be and more!

If you love broken, dirty talking alphaholes who would do anything for the woman they love then YOU MUST MEET LINCOLN HUNTINGTON! But PLEASE beware, the content warning! Also if you haven't read book one in the Obsidian Brotherhood you should to get a better background!

Check out my review for Mischief Night if you want a taste of what it's like. HOTTER THAN HELL, just like this one!

One word: Unexpected. I kept ruminating on this one and thinking the words for a review - that would do this story justice - would come to me. They still haven’t.

What I can tell you is that Hallowed Eve is the story of Lyric Matthews and Lincoln Huntington. Despite having known one another most of their lives, a simple touch, a mere consolation, set alight an unexpected love. As you might anticipate, the journey to their happy ever after is not an easy one.

Much like the first installment, Mischief Night, I thought I had an idea of how the story was going to play out. But I was wrong. The secrets had secrets and there was nothing about this that I saw coming. I would highly recommend going in blind. It’s twisty and you’ll want the full effect!

Delaney has a remarkable gift for weaving an intricate story and to say that I'm anxious to learn more about what happens next with the Obsidian Brotherhood would be an understatement.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Angst: 😩😩😩

⛔️ Warning: This book may cause blushing, squirming, combusting panties, and/or self-care.

⚠️ Safety Squad: If you have any hesitation, check the warnings before diving in. Otherwise, blind is best!!

📣 Type: Hallowed Eve is is part of The Obsidian Brotherhood series. It will be best enjoyed after reading Mischief Night, but can be read as a standalone.
NOTE: The timeline overlaps MN. I loved that the overlapping timeline provided different perspectives for many of the same events. But as such, there would be spoilers.

This was an intense rollercoaster of a read! It's full of grit, heartbreaking moments, a captivating story and characters you can't help to like and root for... well most of them. Some you hope to meet in a dark alley so you can take care of business.

Lincoln is alpha to the max. I thought Caspian held that title in Mischief Night, but Linc is definitely giving him a run for his money. Lincoln is drowning himself in sorrow and what ifs. He's broken and ruthless, a lethal combo. There are a few things that are keeping him above water, but he can't keep going on this way.

Lyric is strong willed, sassy and brave. She has been through so much and now has a new nightmare to live through. She's caught the brotherhood's attention. Life as she knew it will never be the same. Is the new man forced into her life a savior or devil? She is determined not to let her walls down. Despite feeling so alone and her thoughts are her worst enemy. She knows that truths aren't a commonplace for these evil and vile men. She'll bide her time and daydream about what her life could be.

I was enthralled with this book from start to finish. Excited to see where this series heads. I need to know about a couple of the guys in particular!

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Lincoln

Heroine : Lyric

Pace of the story : moderate

Angst Rating : 5/10

Heat Rating : 5/10

Triggers Involved : Past Trauma , kidnapping

Plot Summary :
Lincoln and Lyric have always been in love with each other. Lincoln was her best friend's brother and the one guy that she should never be with but that did not help the love she always felt for him. They had their stolen moments and hoped for a happy ending before it was all ripped away from. Fate played them in a different way and now it was their turn to suffer and make their way to each other.

Overall Opinion :
I have been waiting for this book for so long! The first book of this series was an absolute blast for me and I was excited for this book as well. I loved the dynamic between the characters and the steam between them was so good! From the last book I knew that they were in for a lot of pain but that only excited me more to read the book.

Now there were a few things that I did not like in this book and that was the spotlight given to a side character. I mean it's good when authors give importance to their side characters but giving it too much that they even outshine the main characters? That makes the books feel not that good. That was the case with Gray. The time Lyric spent with Gray was too much. I even started hoping that Lincoln had a plastic surgery and became Gray because omg, he did seem like the main hero for almost half of the damn book 🤣🤣🤣 I hope the author gave more importance to Lyric and Lincoln instead of dragging their time with Gray.

However, that also made me super excited for Gray's own book! I hope he gets it soon because I am dying to read it.

Mind. Freaking. Blown. I- omg first of what a rollercoaster. Lincoln and Lyric's story captured me from page one and honestly gave me the biggest chills in the best possible way!

This is a love story that does not only hook you in by its darkness, intensity and raw emotions but how it has you consumed with your entire being. The posessivenss and the sass. The dark desires and temptations. The twisted secrets and lies. The chaos, destruction and agony. And the all-consuming undying forbidden love. Wow, brilliant and epic as heck!

Lincoln and Lyric gave me all the possible feels, taking pieces of my heart with them! Lyric brought the parts of Lincoln he thought were long gone and had them rising to the surface, his desperation to keep her in his arms and love for this girl had me completely in love with him! Lyric has her own nightmares to live and gosh her strength is something else! She has definitely found her way into my all time favorite heroines!

The way my heart pounded reading this book and how I felt everything all the way, wow. This is quite honestly a masterpiece and a must read!

I don't know how to rate this book. There is so much that didn't work for me, and yet I kept reading until the end to see how everything would play out. There was just a lot of information at once, yet nothing was really happening. I didn't like how the two main characters were separated for so long, and it's set up that you have to read closely to see how long its been since they've seen one another. I didn't like what happened to her, I'm not even sure I fully liked the H either. I definitely felt his longing and hatred towards himself, but I never felt their connection. It seemed to be all about sex, which is fine I guess because they had sexual chemistry in spades, but that's about it.

I just wish there was an emotional connection, I wish there wasn't so much violence towards the women in this misogynistic secret society, and I wish the writing was a bit more concise.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions**

4.5 star. Cover is so hot, this is what draw me to these books. One of my favorite ever covers.

Loved the first book and this one was even better. I have to say I LOVED GREY.!! I know he's a side character but I fell for him. I can't wait for this book.

Anyway this is Lincoln book. It not your normal love story, it's better. Full of twist and turns you don't see coming. I wont say much because it will spoil it. Just know Lincoln is a damage soul. He goes against everything his father stands for. He's a rebel. A heartbroken rebel.

Fuck this bag of trash filled with: immature and horny teenagers who grow into hornier and even more immature adults, middle aged men with limp dicks who need to be kept away from the female population and bad story telling that made me want to punch a hole into the wall.
I'm never believing another 5 star review ever again. One star for the smut.

Like I said,
Fuck.

Holy Hot Hell!! If you thought Caspian was hot just wait until you get a load of Linc!! He is tall, tattooed, pierced, and perfect! 🥵🔥🥵🔥

Lyric and Lincoln’s story will have you singing all kinds of songs of worship and praise😉… just not the hymns you might be used to. 😈 Their story is unlike any other. It’s secretive, forbidden and explosive.💥 It unravels over many years and is packed full of secret after secret. I just know we’re still waiting for more secrets to be revealed in this series and I CANNOT WAIT!!

Lincoln is such a tortured tornado of anger and aggression and guilt. Lyric is no stranger to tragedy when she is dealt yet another one. Yet they are so perfectly suited for each other. She is fierce and strong and her heart has only beat for one.
I loved how well Delaney Foster was able to so intricately weave together all the twists and turns of this story with all the passion and the emotions in their journey she wanted to convey. She did it flawlessly.
My heart bled for these characters. It literally beat out of my chest when they were together because they were so dang hot y’all!! But my heart also melted because Lincoln had these moments where he was just so savagely swoony. Is that even a thing?! I’m saying he made it a thing. That dirty devil is so deliciously alpha and yet takes such good care of his girl. I’m so gone for him. 🥰

If you absolutely obsess over best friends brother, dark romance, romantic suspense, and forbidden romance. This is the book for YOU!! The fact that it is hot as the seventh circle of hades 😈🔥😈🔥, filled to the brim with lies, secrets, twists and truths and all around amazingness. FIVE PHENOMENALLY FANTASTIC STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“You are a permanent fixture in my soul.”

Delaney Foster’s scorching hot and harrowing series, The Obsidian Brotherhood, continues to slay! Hallowed Eve had me at the warning and then held my dark romance loving heart the whole time reading. I though was prepared for Linc’s story, but oh how wrong I was. Nothing could prepare me for the wrath of Hallowed Eve, which was my ruin and restoration … my sin and salvation … my all! This dark romance is EVERYTHING and I couldn’t love it enough!

Foster has crafted another fire-breathing, fiercely felt childhood to adult love story—where I lived the lives of the strong and stunning hero and heroine in their journey of heartbreak and healing, tethered by an unbreakable bond that tied me to them. Hallowed Eve features the strong and stunning Lyric who’s had to grow up too fast, and her best friend’s brother, all alpha Linc who’s deliciously dirty and fiercely protective, a heady combination. He is her secret; she is his obsession. Together, they are a fire that burns.

I was possessed by Linc, the ultimate hero, a savage and sexy beast with a heart that beats for his belle. Lyric’s strength is endless and I admired her so much. Broken sees broken and oh did I break for the heroine and all of their hardships and haunted life. Linc and Lyric are destined soulmates, a song in harmony, and I felt their combustible connection and their fated and forever love sing to me.

Hallowed Eve was gravity—my air to breathe—that pulled every part of me into its tangled web of fire and feels where I devoured every bit of this dark and depraved delight. Its paralyzing intensity struck me like a knife, cutting deep where I lay bare and bleeding. Oh is this book a beautiful mess! Magnetic. Mesmerizing. Meaningful. Every word of this forbidden and fiery tale kissed my soul and struck my heart, leaving me wanting more. I reveled in this romance that’s stunning, savage, and so smartly written.

A TOP 2022 READ!

💋💋💋💋💋💋 forbidden and forever kisses

Oh boy does this one take you on a roller coaster ride! I wasn't even sure I liked Lincoln until I was about half way in, he is the ultimate definition of an Alpha-hole. Lyric is just a mouthy little spitfire and I LOVED it! Wonderful words dripping in sarcasm that I am sure most people can SO relate to, I come from a heavily sarcastic family and her quips had me chuckling. They were so perfectly destined for each other even though you will find yourself thinking WOW, no way can they get out of this one intact which is what makes it all the more satisfying when they do. I'm really invested in the Brotherhood story that goes on while these two take us on their ride too. Defeating an organization that old and that powerful takes some serious brain power and thankfully that group seems to have that in abundance (another thing I love in my books, SMART heroes who use their brains more than their fists). I have no idea how they hide anything from the others with their combustible chemistry. Just all around awesome and I can't wait for more of this group!

Yeah okay, it’s official. I’m in love with Lincoln Huntington. I mean seriously, how could you not love someone who says something like THAT? I folded from the second I saw how protective, possessive and in love he was with Lyric. I loved everything about Lyric and Lincoln’s story. The sex was everything, the chemistry was everything, the plot was everything, overall everything was amazing.

When I saw the “Bonus Epilogue” at the end which was the little glimpse we had into Chandler’s story.. AH I’m so excited. We have had many glimpses of the type of man Chandler was throughout Caspian and now Lincoln’s book, and from those little glimpses I had of him, I instantly knew I would love him. He radiates dominant, protective and territorial energy and I am so here for it. Honestly, I think Chandler might be my favourite of all men and I haven’t even read his story yet. June 2022 could not come fast enough.

Lincoln and Lyric's story
After meeting Lincoln and Lyric in book 1 Mischief Night, I could barely wait to read their story. This man is one of the sexiest book boyfriend's I've encountered and I wanted more of him!! Delaney Foster certainly delivered, pouring on the steam throughout this book and I'm not complaining!! The chemistry and desire for each other was real and believable. I loved Lyric's banter with Linc, she could hold her own with her feisty character! Emotional scenes bringing highs and lows kept me riveted to this story full of intrigue and mystery. This book definitely covered a multitude of feelings and I devoured them all! There were times I wondered how they would ever work things out but Ms. Foster brought it all together masterfully with a glorious ending!! I can't wait for more!!!!

I have such mixed feelings on this book! It is nothing like the first book, Mischief Night, in my opinion. That could be a good thing to some, it’s always expected for each book to tell its own story and not just repeat what’s already been said before, but I loved the uniqueness of the secret society world that was set up in the first book and I felt such a strong connection between the mains in that story.

I guess I wanted more behind the veil when it came to the illustrious gatherings and mystery, more rituals, just more of something….but for me, I just felt disconnected at times and I was having trouble feeling the chemistry between the main characters. While Lyric and Lincoln both had a strong sexual connection, I didn’t feel the long emotional investment or meaningful shared moments between them as I did with Caspian and Tatum in the previous book. I also wasn’t as connected to Lincoln’s backstory either. I seemed to feel similar to the h, Lyric, in this story, she feels disconnected from herself in the years she’s away from H and somewhat “loses herself” when she’s given a new identity, and it was super difficult for me to distinguish the real Lyric after it was all over. I felt like she wasn’t really given a strong identity in this story, if that makes sense, not like Tatum in the previous book. I totally understood that her and Lincoln both were broken in their own ways but I needed to feel that, and something about this book wasn’t as transparent in conveying those big moments and themes like in book 1. It’s hard to describe for me, hence the mixed feelings.

Also, this was the biggest thing that troubled me…Pretty much the majority of this book, the heroine, Lyric, is spending years after her “fake death” with another man. That other man? There is nothing not to like about him imo. This is where my issue began. I started to connect and I saw strong chemistry between the h and this other guy, Grey, versus her and the Hero. I enjoy love triangle tropes in books but this was something else, and frustrating because I knew without a doubt this guy wouldn’t have a chance with her (this is Lincoln’s book after all) so while I couldn’t stop reading the scenes they shared together and how caring he was to the h, (the forced marriage ceremonial scene was unlike anything I’ve read before. Ugh!!! 🔥) Their scenes interested me a lot and were emotionally compelling. Seeing these two together for almost half the story really made me root for Grey as the H, even if I knew going in he wouldn’t end up with her. This ended up making me hate to see him lose her in the end. I know, I know…I knew he wouldn’t be the H, but still, ugh! It made me a bit sad.

With such a long fake death where she’s away and H is with other women during this time, h is only with Grey (the OM) one time due to being obligated to perform the ceremonial ritual of consummating their nuptials in front of the other brotherhood members, so afterwards, for all those years, Grey (OM) and h do not do anything else intimate, yet he is intimate with her in other ways. Running her baths, reading to her on the bathroom floor, stealing glances at her and even in one scene he is actually in physical pain from being turned on by her.

Eventually he ends up just staying away for work a lot and I think this was written in a way that should show he was cold and aloof, and make me, the reader, hate him, for making her lead a lonely life, but I personally think he couldn’t stand the temptation and the fact that she probably reminded him of a loved one he lost to another man. There’s also a heart wrenching scene where Grey watches from a distance H sleep with h, and H sees him looking at Lyric unashamedly and H goes outside and confronts him for watching them, and Grey even says to her “You’re better off with me than him” and I had to agree at this point. Ugh! I hate that I feel this way, because I absolutely loved book 1, and had super high hopes for Lincoln as a character, but this one just left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth and at no point near the end of the book does the h go to thank Grey personally with a goodbye kiss/hug, anything for everything he did for her to protect her while she was carrying out this “fake death” event, when bad people wanted her dead irl. I was just mixed on all of this tbh and while Grey was saving his heart and it was alluded to that he was still somewhat in love with another woman that was in no way with him, he definitely wanted the h at points in the story, he was in pure torture, there’s no doubt about that.

Grey even has a massive freak out when she tries to hurt herself in the first days of her arranged marriage to him. I felt more chemistry between Lyric and Grey than Lincoln with her. This is probably just my way of interpreting the story, but I kind of saw it going in a different direction. By the time she makes Lincoln realize she’s actually alive and not dead, there’s no long talks about it, it’s pretty much skimmed over rather quickly and everybody is well enough on the same page and accepts it and moves on. Lincoln was a mess after her fake death and almost killed a man, but as soon as she shows up after being supposedly dead like 5 years, he’s all sunshine and rainbows and things just move forward.

While this isn’t my favorite of the series so far, and there were a few side plots left unanswered, and a lot of book 1’s plot was rehashed a bit in this in certain telling scenes and flashbacks, I do think this is a story worth reading, if even for the world and the fact that the OM Grey was really a strong, compelling mmc for a supporting character. I’d love to read about a H like him in another book. He was definitely intriguing and the author made me care greatly for how things would end with him. I heard his voice while reading, while Lincoln felt like he was kind of underwhelming in the grand scheme of things. He was brash, had outbursts, a lot of talk but didn’t do much, he did k#ll someone who hurt h at one point, but the “big guys” like Grey and Caspian at times took the reigns and controlled scenes instead of him. I realize he said he wanted nothing to do with the brotherhood and that world, but I wanted his character to be a more asserting presence at times than he was. I hope that makes sense. It’s so difficult for me to put into words, and it was hinted he would be the super crazy, dark, kinky one but there’s no one smexy scene that sticks out that would set him apart from the other MMC’s. I will still continue reading, because I do enjoy this world so much and I have high hopes for other characters in the series and the story is well written, I just think this book kind of got a bit convoluted in the later half imo, and repetitive at times, and I got lost with regards to the emotional attachment between the mains somewhere along the way. 3/5

Breakdown:

Dual POV
H is a mma fighter
h is a famous rapper’s daughter
h is given to another man in an arranged marriage for protection only
Filthy talker H
Character separation/fake death trope
h and the OM Grey have amazing chemistry
h loses her virginity to H
h has to have a ceremonial consummation ritual between her and Grey (OM, the man who has agreed to marry her in order to protect her)
Best friends brother/forbidden romance
H is slightly older than h
I think you could read this standalone, because it does feel like it’s own story and totally different than book 1, but there is an ongoing storyline running in the background with warring families, so you may feel a bit lost when they mention revenge and certain characters/situations from the first book and how they are involved here in this book
H likes 🍑🍆 smexy times
H lines his 🍆 with Coke and 💦 h with it
H has a 🍆 piercing
H has a scary guard dog
H is covered in tattoos (arms hands chest)
H likes wearing grim face paint while he’s in the ring
H likes to draw on h with sharpie (roses/Roman numerals and other tattoo designs)
Some flashbacks/rehashed moments from book 1
HEA
Secret society romance/suspense

i was kinda scared going into this that it wouldn’t compare to the first one, but man was i wrong! before we get into the review, if your like me and thinking about just reading this one because of the pretty cover, you should read the first one first! a new all time fav for me, but it really sets this one up.

📚Hallowed Eve 📚is book two in Delany Fosters Obsidian Brotherhood series!

let’s talk tropes 👇

✅best friends brother
✅forbidden and secret relationship
✅secret society vibes
✅spooky with Gothic/Halloween vibes
✅d!rty talker hero with 🍑 play

okay let’s talk about this book for a sec cause mannnn i loved it. the plot follows Lyric and Lincoln. we see Lyric disappear in the first book, leaving Tatum gutted and Lincoln grieving their secret relationship. Turns out, she ain’t dead and disappeared which ain’t much of a spoiler. maybe for the first one but nah. we get dual POVs, and dual timelines which i loved. i also loved the flashbacks to that one Mischief night and how it intertwines. i loved how Lyric was strong and yet realistically scared, and while i did get annoyed at her thinking she could just walk up and threaten dude, i fucked with her. Lincoln? i liked him too. nobody compares to Caspian though, like what man sends his girl a dildo of his dick so she can remember him🥵🥵 overall i really did enjoy this plot, didn’t really notice it was longer than the first one, and i LIVED for the tension and jealousy between them, and it was soooo hot, but i missed Tatum and Caspian. lol no one can top them but i did really really enjoy this book

Hallowed Eve is just as good, if not better, than the first book, Mischief Night. Oh my goodness. I started it at 11pm for some dumb reason. I had to stay up all night to finish it!

This is Lyric and Lincoln's book, and I'm not going to really say too much because I don't want to give stuff away. I'll just say that together, they are explosive, and apart they are tragic. I fell in love with Grey, and I hope he gets a HEA too.

I am so excited for Chandler's book because he seems like a sociopath and I want to know what's in his closets.

This is the second book I've read of Delaney Foster's, and I clicked most of her backlist now. I was a fan after Mischief Night, now I'm obsessed!!

Hallowed Eve
(The Obsidian Brotherhood #2)
Written by: Delaney Foster

Oh she is wicked! Delaney Foster knows the way to my heart is through her new series and book 2 – Hallowed Eve…this dark little heart had a very hard time putting this down.

When 15-year-old Lyric says these words to 18-year-old Lincoln,
”I feel like I need to run. I don’t know where. Just…away.” “If I ran, would you run with me? and he responds, ”Yeah.” “I would run with you.” you know that their story is going to be epic!

Lyric Montgomery was the girl who never really fit in anywhere until she met Tatum Huntington. Two girls who fit together like a puzzle pieces, Tatum was the quiet well behaved one who tried not to rock the boat; but Lyric, she was the one who was always out there, spoke her mind and tried so very hard not to catch the eye of Tatum’s older brother Lincoln.

Lincoln Huntington, learned at an early age how depraved and dangerous his father was. Instead of allowing his father to rule his world Lincoln gave into his temptations, drugs, ink and Lyric Montgomery!

Having read Mischief Night, I had no problem watching their story play out, some things were new to me and other things I had knowledge of but not the guts of it all. Yet as this story played out I was captive to the way Author Delaney Foster broke hearts, Lincoln’s, Tatum’s and mine. I was a mess, but I felt I was in good company. I put my faith in Delaney to fix what she broke!

Hallowed Eve did just that, it built page by page, event by event and readers are taken on quite a ride! From loss to hope, we watch Lyric and Lincoln lose each other, mourn and try to move on. The thread between them fraying but never breaking.

Delaney Foster’s ending is edge of your seat reading, fingers crossing and breathtaking. After the deep sigh at the end don’t forget to look for Darkest Hour the next Obsidian Brotherhood book, coming in the summer of 2022.

Author Note: The Obsidian Brotherhood series is a darker romance series dealing with the inner workings of a fictional secret society. The world created in this series is dark, ominous and oftentimes not pretty. Trust your limits.

Thank you Delaney Foster for an ARC of this dark, twisted romance. All opinions are my own. Check trigger warnings.

Delaney Foster did an amazing job creating this dark and demented world where money and power reign supreme and dangerous men are above the law. If you haven't read the first book, Mischief Night, I highly recommend going back. While this is a standalone, it's best read in order so that you can understand the backstory, dynamics, and understand where the stories are going.

Lincoln's character has so many demons and the only way he can drown them out is with drugs, fighting or alchohol. Lyric is a strong girl with the backbone to survive the unthinkable and is the only thing that can help Lincoln's demons at bay. Their relationship begins in secret with stolen moments and is shattered when Lyric is taken away. I have to give mad props to Delaney Foster for creating the spice in this book. She knows how to write a scene that will get you hot and bothered. Lincoln is a freak and Lyric is ready and willing to take all that he can give her. He's assertive and she's a bit of a smartass.

"His jaw strained as he searched my eyes. 'Close the door.' Right. The door. Because God forbid someone walk in and slip on my drool."

The way this book is set up, we get to see how Lyric and Lincoln both handle the separation. We watch them grow, cope and accept their new ways of life believing that they'll never find their way back to one another. I loved being introduced to Grey during this time, he's described as the most dangerous of The Brotherhood and is so mysterious, I love it! He has a reason for everything he does and I began rooting for him to get his own happy ending.

The plot is top notch and is setting up for some seriously epic twists in the next three books. Start with Capsian and Tatum's book to be introduced to this world, then read Lincoln and Lyric's intense, all consuming love story. Side note: this cover is LINCOLN 1000%, absolutely perfect! Delaney Foster has quickly become a go to author for me, her characters, stories, smut, dialogue, everything is *chef's kiss*

I was really hoping book 2 would be Lincoln and Lyric so I was happy to see it was

However, I ended up not being a fan of Lincoln

I just didn’t see Lincoln have any of the love and dedication for Lyric like Caspian had for Tatum. Seems like he kept up with the drugs even after everything?

I ended up preferring Grey(he did more for Lyric than Lincoln) and would have liked Lyric to have ended up with him and been able to read a love story from their situation

Trying to put my review into words without giving anything away was hard. This is a dark romance first. The second book in the Obsidian Brotherhood. It is highly advised to read Mischief Night first. If you have no triggers it's always better to go in blind. If not the author lets you know early what they are going to be. I have none so I dived in. Mischief Night ended unexpectedly so I was anxious to see what was going to happen in Hallowed Eve.

Lincoln- "Every time I walked into a church, I was surprised it didn't burst into flames. A guy like me has no business mingling with the saints. I was a sinner to my core. I knew it. My family knew it."

So let me start by saying I didn't really like Lincoln much in the first book. But that changed early on for me. He was obsessed with Lyric the female main character. I love the possessiveness of an alpha that will do anything for their girl. And he was all that and then some. Lyric is a strong heroine and even bratty at times. I loved the two of them together.

But this is a dark romance so nothing goes the way you expect. There is the secret society again. If you've read the first book you know what I'm talking about. We get further into it this time. And there is a new key player, Grey. I loved Grey. We see him in the story almost as much as Lincoln. I hope he will get his own story at some point. I would love to see him get his happily ever after.

I loved the revisits of old characters and the spice was good as well.

Holy shit, my cover sensitive eyes aren’t able to close themselves. Now, onto book2 in The Obsidian Brotherhood series. I felt like this book was a lot darker than book 1. The author prepared me well for what was about to comes and I knew I was going to get a lot of background information on how and who and what and where. These 2 characters fit so well together and my heart ached more than once for them.
Delaney has plotted this very well and the pathway from light grey to dark goes very smooth. I cursed her more than once though, for having the things play out like they did.
I am glad I got to read the Bonus Chapter sneak peak and am looking forward to book 3.

Lincoln and Lyric’s story was good and they got there much deserved hea . My only complaint is that the rehash from the first book, from their pov was about 60% of the book which was too long.

Buckle up ladies and hold on for a wild ride. Lincoln is fierce and just plain book boyfriend material! Lyric is a beauty and beast! Girl is just amazing. Another character captivated my mind and heart. Cant wait for more from Delany Foster!!
