Silver Bell Falls #4

Um resgate de Natal

Rate this book

Another "Grinch"? At first, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. I believe one other book in this series already covers a grinchy handsome hunk.

Once I get to know the characters, this turns out to be quite cute. Dr. Gavin, a veterinarian who recently moved to Silver Bell Falls and bought an animal clinic, and Bailey, an office manager and a huge fan of Christmas and dogs.

Very little steam Christmas romance. Safe to blast the volume while cooking/baking! 🎄🧑‍🍳

Books and Authors mentioned: A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin (A Game of Thrones series), How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss

My rating: ⭐️⭐️½👨‍⚕️👩‍💻🐶🐕🐈❄️☃️🔮🎄

My thoughts: I was a bit disappointed there was no author's note at the beginning of the story. Then I got the plot and I wasn't a fan. Books 1 and 3 feature a Christmas Grinch so I wasn't keen on getting another one (with a similar background story), and this one was annoying and I didn't buy the attraction.

Recommend to others: Yeah, most series have a lull and a dud, it's probably downhill sledding from here.

Samantha Chase’s A Christmas Rescue touched my heart. Dr. Gavin Maguire has purchased the vet office where Bailey works. He’s great with the pets but not with the owners. By not allowing the girls to decorate the office, he’s earned the nickname “The Grinch”. After getting snowed in with Gavin after helping him with a homeless man & his pregnant lab, Bailey sees another side of Gavin.

I loved the interactions between Bailey & Gavin. They came across totally honest & realistic. Gavin couldn’t believe Bailey would quit her job over not being allowed to hang Christmas decorations. He couldn’t see the benefit, just how it made him uncomfortable. However, Bailey never thought to ask if there was a reason why he didn’t want to celebrate Christmas. The part that I really loved was Gavin giving his time to helping the homeless & their pets. Pets give unconditional love& many times people can’t help the circumstances that caused them to be homeless. This was a wonderful story showcasing the true Christmas spirit, not just the decorations & presents.

A CHRISTMAS RESCUE by Samantha Chase (Silver Bell Falls #4) is a
delightful, quick read for the holidays. Bailey Walsh is the office manager
for Dr. Gavin Maguire, the veterinarian who recently took over the practice
from another vet who retired. Gavin, who is very attractive but is called Dr.
Grinch by his staff behind his back, wants nothing to do with Christmas. In
fact, he fires Bailey when she insists on decorating the office behind his
back. Before she leaves, however, she decides to help him with a litter of
new puppies and they get snowed in at the clinic. Will this give Bailey the
chance to find out why Dr. Grinch hates Christmas? And, how convenient
is it that Gavin’s apartment is just upstairs!
This is a novella, but the characters and the main story are as well
developed as they would be in a full-length novel. Bailey is a strong,
confident character. When snowed in with grouchy, stand off-ish Gavin,
she wants to get to know him and gives him a chance. And then there are
the dogs. What’s not to love? 5 stars for Ms. Chase. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

I first read this as part of an anthology. Let me tell you about Dr. Gavin Maguire and Bailey Walsh though. He is Dr. Grinch and his employees revolt and decorate the reception area for Christmas and he explodes. This is the last straw for Bailey and she turns in her letter of resignation but after hours he calls her into his office and while there he gets a calls about a dog in distress who is having puppies. Bailey, with her soft heart, wants to tag along, and after bringing the dog back to the clinic and delivering puppies, they are snowed in. Oh my, does the weekend get away from them and heat up. Will this be the start of something good and new? I really enjoyed all three books but especially this one. I highly recommend this one, any time of the year!

A Christmas Rescue. Enemies to lovers, that takes place in one my favorite Christmas town, Silver Bell Falls. With the delivery of puppies and being snowed in with her boss, Dr Grinch, the local veterinarian, Bailey might change his mind of Christmas. This is a sweet romance. Perfect read for a lazy afternoon.

This was more of the same from Silver Bell Falls except with PUPPIES! Everything is a little better with puppies. And talk about rushing in! I don't see how Gavin went from all out to all in so quickly but I guess that is the magic of Silver Bell Falls.

This was a cute read, I especially loved the vet clinic setting and the pets. Unfortunately I felt that the relationship was a bit rushed. I think if it had been a full length book I would have enjoyed it more.

Nice audiobook book with the veterinarian with a tough childhood, closed off but ready for Bailey the wonderful office manager, who puts in her resignation but then there was the snow storm and resuming of dog pregnant with puppies and all worked out in the end. Romance in a weekend built up over the course of a year.... quick book with happy ending. Watching the Lorax movie with Audrey and Hedlun and not as sure about this happy ending😊

Wasn’t a big fan of the reader for the audiobook. They weren’t bad per say, but something about the way they talked kinda annoyed me slightly. The story itself was okay. Part of me liked it while another part of me questioned why and how the charters even liked each other.

A Christmas Rescue was such a cute read. Baily works at the vets office in Silver Bell Falls, but the new vet is a big grinch. He won't let them decorate or do anything or the holidays even though the entire rest of the town is all decked out for it. And Baily loves Christmas! It is so much fun to get into the festive spirit.

Dr. Grinch, aka Gavin, has his reasons for not being all warm and fuzzy. He has never really been overly friendly with everyone, but he is wonderful with the animals. He would do whatever he can to help them when needed.

When Bailey and Gavin have to go save a litter of puppies they end up getting snowed in together and things get a little heated. In a good way. Only...Gavin has some issues and doesn't know how to not be how he is. Fortunately there is a bit of Christmas magic and everything is wonderful by the end. This was a really cute read and a great Christmas story.

Samantha Chase has done it again and has delivered another incredible romance with A Christmas Rescue, the fourth book in her Silver Bell Falls series, a wonderful holiday love story. Who does not love a forced proximity love story? Samantha Chase has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. I love how Samantha Chase always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. Samantha Chase continues to deliver all that and so much more. She has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. A Christmas Rescue did not disappoint; I could not put it down and loved every moment on every page. I enjoy how Samantha Chase writes from the perspective of the two main characters. That way you get to know what is going on in of their minds. A Christmas Rescue is a wonderful love story and is filled each with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments eyes filling with tears. A Christmas Rescue is filled with such moments, and with so much more. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Samantha Chase love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. A Christmas Rescue is the story of Bailey Walsh and her boss, veterinarian, Gavin Maguire. Bailey has nicknamed, Gavin “grinch”, since he has not decorated the veterinary clinic for Christmas. When Bailey and her co-workers decorate the office while Gavin is gone from the office, he gets angry the following day and fires Bailey. Before, Bailey can pack up her desk, Gavin is called out on a veterinary emergency. The dog of a Silver Bell Falls homeless resident, has gone into labor and is having difficulties delivering her puppies. Bailey stays to help Gavin with the puppies. When the puppies are all safely delivered, Bailey and Gavin realize that they are snowed in at the clinic. Fortunately, Gavin lives in an apartment above the clinic and invites Bailey to stay until the snow stops. As Gavin and Bailey spend time together while being snowed in, things quickly heat up between the two of them. Gavin shares secrets with Bailey that he hasn’t revealed to anyone before. I love the chemistry between Gavin and Bailey. I love how Gavin decides to take matters into his own hands and creates the changes in himself if wants to have a life with Bailey. My favorite part are the Christmas gifts that Bailey and Gage exchange with each other. I loved the story and am so glad that both Bailey and Gavin got their happily ever after. I love all the surprises that Samantha Chase has included in A Christmas Rescue. My favorite part in the book is the epilogue and how it wraps up all the details of the happily ever after, and it did not disappoint. A Christmas Rescue contains all the elements that I have love most in a Samantha Chase story, romance, great characters and setting, bittersweet moments and the plot twist that ties it all together. Amazing story. I could not put it down. Highly recommend this holiday love story.

It's another novella from Silver Bell Falls Series by the amazing Samantha Chase. I loved this one just as much as I loved the others in this series. Christmas Rescue was about a new young veterinarian who had come to Silver Bell Falls to take over the clinic. Little did he know that his whole world would change a year in to owning the practice. Bailey Walsh worked at the clinic as the office manager and was always butting heads with the ever handsome Dr. Gavin Maguire. Bailey really liked the doctor but didn't know how to approach him as he was always out of reach. Gavin had a rough up bringing. So he kept everyone at arms reach, not letting anyone in. Bailey and the girls decided to decorate the clinic and Gavin wasn't very happy and told the girls to take the decorations down, Bailey did no such thing. She took to heart that he would fire her for not putting the decorations back up so she put her resignation in. That day Bailey resigned she didn't think anything of it and was packing up her stuff and getting ready to leave when Gavin called her into his office to talk about her letter. But that talk got pushed aside when Gavin got a call from Matt a guy that runs a homeless shelter in the next town. There was a pregnant dog in distress and Gavin had to get to her, Bailey asked if he needed help and Gavin took her up on her offer. As the drove to the next town it started snowing harder. Gavin found the homeless man and his pregnant dog and talked with him and was able to take her with to the clinic to look after her, she was in labor but it wasn't progressing like it should. Once back at the clinic they sprang into action to get her stable and soon after labor had picked up and the puppies were coming.. Bailey and Gavin worked together to make sure that momma and babies were healthy and doing good. Bailey had decided it was time to head home but when she went to leave it was a white out and he car was practically buried in snow, Gavin had to get not to leave but she didn't think it was a good thing to do. So she got into her car and started it up only to feel hopeless and new she wasn't gonna be going anywhere anytime soon. Gavin came to her and offered her a place out of the cold. After a while things started to turn in a different direction and Bailey found herself tell him that she liked him and he had said the same, the spent a few nights together snowed in and taking care of the dogs and falling in love with one another. I love a good romance book where the couple realizes that they are ment to be together. This book goes great with the rest of the Silver Bell Falls series.

There are two things Bailey Walsh loves: Christmas and helping animals. Working for the Silver Bell Falls pet hospital should mean she’s living her dream. And she would be if it weren’t for Dr. Maguire, the pet hospital’s very own grinch, who’s acting anything but merry.

Gavin Maguire just wants to look after the animals in his care, not have to worry about putting up holiday decorations. But when you live in Silver Bell Falls the holiday season comes with high expectations—expectations he’s more than happy to ignore even if it costs him his assistant.

Just as Bailey is getting ready to leave the pet hospital without a backwards glance, she finds herself snowed in with Dr. Grinch. But somewhere between saving a litter of puppies and waiting for the storm to pass, they find more than just holiday spirit.

NOTE: A CHRISTMAS RESCUE was originally released in the anthology SNOWED IN FOR CHRISTMAS

A CHRISTMAS RESCUE (Silver Bell Falls #4) by Samantha Chase

REVIEW: A CHRISTMAS RESCUE by Samantha Chase follows the acrimonious relationship between veterinarian Dr. Gavin Maguire , and office receptionist Bailey Walsh. The holidays are just around the corner, and Silver Bell Falls Pet Clinic has lost the Christmas spirit thanks to Dr. Gavin Maguire or Dr. Grinch as his employees have started to call him. Unable to stand Gavin’s Scrooge-like behaviour Bailey and the staff decorate the office for Christmas only to be threatened with their jobs within hours of arrival. Unwilling to stand down, Bailey hands in her resignation but quickly finds herself as the veterinarian’s assistant when a homeless lab goes into labor at a downtown shelter, and a snow storm shuts down Silver Bell Falls. What ensues is the quick building romantic relationship between Gavin and Bailey when Bailey becomes snowbound in Gavin’s apartment, and the potential fall-out as Gavin’s past continues to eat away at his heart and his soul.

A CHRISTMAS RESCUE is a sweet story of acceptance, understanding, love and moving forward. The premise is engaging; the romance is passionate-the $ex scenes are implied and fade to black; the characters are colourful, dynamic and stubborn. Samantha Chase invites the reader to Silver Bell Falls where love truly does conquer all.

This book is just another reason why I LOVE Samantha Chase's writing so much, her fabulous Christmas stories. Truthfully, I think Christmas romance is one of my all time favorites. I first read this fabulous as a part of an anthology release last year, and let me tell you, it has ALL the feels.
A Christmas Rescue is the 4th book in Ms. Chase's Silver Bell Falls series. I have read most of the books the Silver Bell Falls series, and thus far, I think this is my favorite, maybe it’s the puppies, maybe the characters, but most definitely the story. I really like “love unknown” stories. Bailey and Gavin both have an attraction to the other, but either will admit it to the other. Silver Bell Falls is a town steeped in Christmas traditions. Gavin, he is new to town. When he had the chance to take over the local veterinary clinic, he could not help moving there, in spite of his feelings for Christmas, and all it represents to him and his past. Holly LOVES Christmas and everything the town does to represent the holiday. Holly and Gavin butt heads about decorations in the office to the point that she quit her job over them. The evening she is giving Gavin her resignation an emergency call comes in regarding a severely pregnant dog having trouble with the labor. Holly goes with Gavin to bring the dog back to the clinic. When a severe snow storm hits Holly and Gavin are stranded together with an in labor pregnant dog, and then her puppies. While they are stranded, and here it is again, they really start to communicate. Gain tells Holly why he feels the way he does about Christmas, and eventually they both admit their feelings for the other. But Gavin still holds back and Holly and she confronts him about it, and when he won’t commit… sorry ladies, no spoilers. I will say I wanted to Gibbs slap Gavin in the back of the head.
Thank you for reading my review. If you like Christmas romance, then this one is definitely for you. So, what are you waiting for? Go his that purchase button and YOU can enjoy this book as much as I have.

Samantha wrote A Christmas Rescue which is book four in her Silver Bell Falls series. First I am going to say I am so excited to get another Silver Bell Falls book. I love the town of Silver Bell Falls. Everything about screams quaint and cozy and warm. I love the people in the town they just are so warm and caring. I want to live in Silver Bell Falls. Silver Bell Falls is the perfect town for a Christmas romance.

In A Christmas Rescue we meet Bailey Walsh and Gavin McGuire. I love their chemistry. Bailey works for Gavin and has given him the nickname Dr. Grinch. In the beginning he does seem to be a Grinch but as in all of Samantha's books there is more than meets the eye. Once these two get together things heat up. I found myself laughing and having heartswooning moments as well as my heart breaking when I heard Gavin's back story. My heart really went out for Gavin. I also loved the pet aspect of this story. I love animals. They are just so cuddly and sweet. There is something about a man who takes care of animals especially dogs. Bailey and Gavin definitely have chemistry and I believe they are perfectly matched.

Samantha Chase did a great job taking us back to Silver Bell Falls and giving us another great Christmas romance. I loved the secondary characters in the story. I loved the setting and plot. I just felt my heart soar as I read A Christmas Rescue. Something about Christmas time and snow and romance that make a great story. Samantha Chase really captivated me from page one and kept me captivated throughout the entire story. I loved A Christmas Rescue so much that I had to read this story a second time. It just leaves you with that feeling you get at Christmas and I just love that. Grab your copy and fall in love with A Christmas Rescue and the town of Silver Bell Falls and Samantha Chase like so many others have.

A Christmas Rescue
Samantha Chase
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While I’m normally a huge fan of Samantha Chase, this story just missed something for me. I didn’t mark down my star rating because I think it may have had to do with Dr Maguire, I disliked everything about him, yet I wanted to keep reading, and as I did, I saw a different side to Dr Grinch, and a special note: not everyone has that perfect life, never take someone for granted because you never know what’s happening/ happened to them with what life throws at you.

Bailey loves her job at the vet clinic where she works in a Silver Bell Falls. The people are wonderful, the pets make her smile and her co workers are great people. The same cannot be said for her boss. He is mean, nasty and has zero Christmas spirit. With much tension between Dr Gavin Maguire and Bailey at defcon 5, an explosion is about to occur.

As a snow storm takes over Silver Bell Falls, Gavin and bailey are caught up in the surgery with a pregnant dog, multiple puppies and no way for her to leave. Staying in with the Good Doctor is all wrong. But with a lot of snow stopping them from going anywhere a night in will change everything. The always bubbly Bailey will open up to her boss, but it is what he tells her that will change everything. Soon their one night turns to truths, anger, tears and well good old fashion lovin’. The Veterinarian knows how to treat an animal , he’s about to get a crash course on one woman who will forever change his outlook on everything from the people of Silver Bell Falls, treating of others and his bed manor… phew!

Read October 2018 as part of a three book box set.

A Christmas Rescue (Silver Bell Falls #4) by Samantha Chase packed a bit of a punch to the #feels. I’m not gonna lie, our hero of the story is not very likeable for most of the story, imo … until he is :) which actually doesn’t happen until towards the end so I’m a bit middle of the road on this one. I understand Gavin's character as not being a people person but this is a very short read and imo, he spent way too much of the story at odds with Bailey. Because of that, I honestly didn't enjoy this story as much as I could have.

So I'm gonna take a minute an explain the could have: For me, there are certain characteristics of a story that cannot be fleshed out properly (or rather I should say that they are normally not) in a short read. Gavin's inability to #people (lol) is something that is ingrained in his personality at this point. He's a grown man after all. Those kinds of *thing* need more story if you want me to *believe* in the turnabout etc etc etc. So that's why the story just didn't wow me at all. But it wasn't a bad story. It just needed more , imo.

"A Christmas Rescue" by Samantha Chase is part of a 3-novella anthology and is book #4 in the Silver Bell Falls series. All three stories are set in similar situations… two people who are stranded in the snow and who are forced to face their fears, their pasts, their realities.

In this story, we meet Bailey and Gavin (aka Dr. Grinch). Bailey works for Gavin who is a veterinarian with a chip on his shoulder. She is perky and cute and is well-loved by all everyone in the town. It is Christmas and the Dr’s office is in a sad state with no decorations or Christmas spirit to speak of. Gavin has a surly attitude and the office staff has just about reached their limit of his “grinchyness.”

Little does the staff know there is a good reason for Gavin’s anti-Christmas behavior… and it takes a dog named Lola and a blizzard for Bailey to see Gavin's true personality. There is a lot of emotion and feeling packed into this short book.

Even though this is novella is part of the Silver Bell Falls series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I do recommend the previous books in the series, though. You will enjoy them just as much!

This book features three stories by three INCREDIBLE authors Noelle Adams,Samantha Chase and Zoe York. Each story gives us it's own unique dose of holiday magic but Christmas Rescue by Samantha Chase really touches on the spirit of the holidays just like those old Christmas movies that we love. Gavin is a closed off veterinarian in the wonderful town of Silver Bell Falls and Bailey is his vivacious office manager who loves Christmas. Gavin doesn't open up to people and Bailey never met a person she didn't like until it's time to decorate the office for Christmas and Gavin's attitude pushes her over the edge and she resigns but when there's an emergency and they're stranded together will they get a Christmas miracle? You really need to read this book and find out what happens with Gavin and Bailey. Ms.Chase's Christmas books always remind me of the true Christmas classics like It's A Wonderful Life you have to experience the magic for yourselves! I would definitely recommend this book with three AMAZING stories to put you in the holiday spirit!

This Silver Falls Holiday Novella is the love story of a veterinarian and one of his employees - who are exact opposites.

Bailey has lived her entire life in Silver Bell Falls with her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. They all still meet for dinner once a month and talk to each other all of the time.

On the other hand, Gavin has lived a very hard life. He has no family and spends his life alone with no friends. Because of this, he refuses to put up any Christmas decorations, and his only conversations are with his animal patients. In fact, his employees call him “Dr. Grinch.”

These two very different people get snowed in one weekend with two dogs and several newborn puppies. The result is an amusing, and poignant, story about how Bailey and Gavin discover their similarities, learn to accept their differences, and slowly fall in love with each other.

This is a tender and passionate story of two totally different people who discover their similarities, as they learn to accept their differences. In the end they fall madly in love with each other.

Originally read in 2018 as part of a boxed set. Now this story has been released individually. I went to check my review and to read the blurb for the book and I Hausa had a huge smile. This story is perfect for any animal, holiday or romance lover!!

Puppies, a winter workplace romance, the grinch and a SC story = an utter delight. This community and the characters drew me in immediately. I could feel the Christmas cheer and expectations of the area and the bah-humbug of not decorating! The pups added a fun dimension to the story and as an avid animal lover I am here for it! Both characters shared their stories in their own way and it was great to see how they learned from and grew with each other. The lessons from both are good at any time, but especially at winter when there are people and animals in need!

First I love coming back to my favorite Christmas town. This story reads like Hallmark movie. Gavin is a gifted veterinarian who is very shut off from other people. Bailey is his sweet and gregarious receptionist. They get stuck in a snowstorm while rescuing a pregnant dog. It is really the dog that rescues them. Gavin is drawn to Bailey but he had many struggles during his childhood. Gavin fears that if he gets too attached people will leave. Bailey gives him hope. Gavin needs someone like Bailey in his corner. Once Bailey sees his softer side she is totally attracted to him. I loved Gavin's puppy Cooper in this book he was adorable. Gavin finally admits to himself the reason he came to Silver Bells Falls he wants to be part of the community. I recommend all Samantha Chase Silver Bells Falls books if you are looking to warm up your holiday season with heartfelt romance.
