When Angels Battle

Rate this book
18 Months into the Tribulation...

After the sudden disappearance of her parents, Nyla Cruz was left with the care of her younger brother and aged grandmother. After World War 3 began, famine, violence, and disease ravaged the planet, transforming the calm world she once knew into hell on earth. With the arrival of the Neflams, hope returned, bringing a semi-peace under the New World Union. Now, all Nyla wants to do is use her position as leader of a NWU Peace Keeping team to imprison all Deviants—the ones who caused all earth’s troubles. When a chance arises to infiltrate a local group, she agrees to go undercover. Their leader, a preacher named Daniel Cain, is on the NWU top-wanted list, and his capture could mean a huge promotion and a chance to change the world for the better.

After recovering from the shock of being left behind, ex-Navy Seal Calan Walker is determined to overcome his past mistakes and be a powerful force in the Kingdom of God. So, when he is recruited to be a bodyguard for the greatest Tribulation evangelist, Daniel Cain, he jumps at it. He learns much under Daniel’s tutelage, but when a beautiful woman weaves her way into their underground church, he is suspicious, yet intrigued and enamored. He cannot allow his heart to rule over his head. Never again.

As the earth endures the first half of the Tribulation, Angels are dispatched to aid and defend the remaining saints. Their job? Do not interfere in free will but battle all evil attacks by Satan’s warriors. However, that becomes more and more difficult as countless hordes of evil beings are being unleashed across the globe.

A Stunning Eye-opener for the Heart and Soul

Buckle up for a heart-pounding glimpse into the future, where the Book of Revelation comes alive before your very eyes, challenging your faith and recharging your soul. With chilling Biblical accuracy, MaryLu Tyndall masterfully fleshes out the Tribulation in a breathless love story that surges the pulse spiritually and romantically at breakneck speed. Spiritual warfare at its brutal best, When Angels Battle is one of the most powerful fictional accounts of the End Times since Jenkin’s and LeHaye’s Left Behind and Perretti’s This Present Darkness. Ten+ stars if I could, Tyndall's new release is a riveting revelatory romance not to be missed!

Wow, this book was amazing. There are so many similarities to events going on around the world currently. It definitely gets your mind working and thinking about the future. I really enjoyed this series and was glad for some answers that were left from the first book.
I love all of MaryLu's book and this one is right there with the others.

Please check out this thrilling sequel to MaryLu Tyndall's Guardians of the Saints series called "When Angels Battle". In order to truly appreciate this masterpiece though, you need to read the first book of the series "When Angels Cry". After an epic adventure leading to The Rapture in book one, we see the return of pastor Daniel Cain taking part in a thrilling spiritual battle during The Tribulation in book two. However, the main focus of this story is the spiritual journeys of the two main characters Nyla Cruz & Calan Walker. Especially while harbouring differing views & opinions on how to survive in their current world. Sometimes all it takes is some faith & acceptance. I appreciate that MaryLu was also able to incorporate our current COVID struggle into the story aswell as part of The Tribulation. It made the adventure a little more real for me. If this is of any interest to you then I highly recommend this amazing story of faith, acceptance & hope. You won't regret it.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author and the opinions given are strictly my own. I was in no way obligated to leave a review. Thank you!

WHEN ANGELS BATTLE by MaryLu Tyndall is absolutely gripping! Though a fictional read regarding the Tribulation described in the book of Revelation, Ms. Tyndall’s depiction shows how a world in disarray will be seduced by lies and easily swayed into believing the propaganda spewed by the media and a one-world government.

Nyla Cruz is a team leader with the New World Union Peace Keepers. It’s her job to keep order in her sector and root out illegal meetings held by Deviants. She’s good at what she does, so good in fact, she is recruited for a more important job—to find Daniel Cain, the most famous Deviant pastor in the North American Region. And the way she’ll find him is through his bodyguard, Calan Walker.

Ex-Navy SEAL, Calan Walker’s job is to protect Daniel Cain. When he first stumbles across Nyla Cruz, he thinks it was God putting him in the right place at the right time. But, when their paths cross again, he isn’t so sure. But he is drawn to Nyla, even though he knows her past, there’s something about her that makes him want to believe she can change.

What unfolds is an amazing story of the forces of good versus evil. Angels battle over those who are entrusted to them. Nyla struggles with what she’s been told about the Deviants, and what she witnesses when she is with them. She questions the beliefs of her parents that ultimately took them away from her and her brother, and the faith of her grandmother in the ancient Bible that somehow foretells the cataclysmic events that are taking place before her very eyes. And, we watch as Calen struggles with the feelings he has for Nyla, knowing she could very well prove to be his downfall.

Not only does Ms. Tyndall pull back the curtain on the spiritual warfare that happens in the unseen realm of angels and demons, but her story is so relevant to what is going on in the world today, you don’t have to stretch your imagination to actually see how these events could easily take place in a world of smoke and mirrors.

Action. Drama. Romance. WHEN ANGELS BATTLE has it all! The only uneasiness I felt when reading WHEN ANGELS BATTLE is knowing the line between fact and fiction is so very, very thin.

Though I received an ARC copy of this book, I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Oh, WOW! This book will leave you either totally shocked or deepen your faith!
If you like books that will stretch your faith and what you believe, then this is a book you should read!
This story takes place after the Rapture, which is talked about in the Bible in the book of Revelations. During the time of Tribulations, there are many people who are left behind who begin to believe what God said in His Bible as true. These people start to share and bring others to see who God really is. All the while there is a spiritual battle being fought around them by God’s angels and the demons of Satan.
In this story, the author brings a very real depiction of what the Bible says, in such a way that it makes you wonder and challenges your beliefs. You can tell she has done much research and studying of this passage from the Bible. I know this is a fictional book and yet, it was written in such a way that it has changed the way I see things.
On the fiction side of things, I loved how she brought in a bit of romance into the story. She showed what true love is and how it can change a life.
MaryLu Tyndall is an author I’ve read before but most of the stories have been of pirates, shipwrecks, and such, so this is definitely a change. I love her style of writing. All her stories flow with so much imagery and color. The dialogues between characters are smooth and move the story along. I can’t wait to read more of her books. In fact, I’m going back to read the first book in this series. When Angels Cry.
If you love books about the end-times, suspense/romance, angles, demons, spiritual battles, then this is the book you need to pick up and read! I hope you do, it just might change your life!
I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This author has a unique platform and specific writing gift to be able to both get the truth out and entertain. Although When Angels Battle can be read as a stand alone book, the first in the series “When Angels Cry,” will give a good foundation to what is happening and offer the reader a greater context of events.

That being said, Marylu does a great job of outlining what *could* happen based on the pages of scripture. In fact, one can look at current events while reading this book and see the line between fact and fiction get a little blurry.

I will not get into specific plot details but I did love the story line and the different characters. I felt like I knew them as real people. I loved how I could follow Nyla’s “learning curve” along with her internal thoughts processes. I loved Tata…if only everyone could have a praying faithful grandmother like her!

The story line always was moving and although it was predictable somewhat (because I’ve read THE BOOK), the details of it were engaging and left me always wanting to know what happened next! I did not want to put it down, and the time I was engaged in the story I was fully immersed.

The romance aspect was well written in that the heroine saw what real love was. All too often today we see lust passing for love, and part of Nyla’s learning curve was learning the difference, and the hero while imperfect (we see his internal struggles ad well) demonstrates that well.

Thank you Marylu for another great story and the way I read it, there’s room for another sequel…if we’re still here ;)

“When Angels Battle” is a story set during the time of Tribulation and parallels the natural and spiritual world through lead character Nyla Cruz, and her guardian Angel. If you read MaryLu Tyndall previous book, “When Angles Cry,” this is the sequel you have been waiting for!

“When Angles Cry” left us with the rapture - a glorious telling of the church leaving this earth. If you remember, mega pastor Daniel Cain was left behind. The sequel, “When Angles Battle”, picks up with office Nyla Cruz, who is sent undercover to find and uncover the Deviant leader. But when she finds him, will she truly reveal his identity? Or will the unaltered teaching of the Bible grip and change her soul?

First of all, I have not read The Left Behind series, so this is one of the few “end times” books I’ve read. The whole “world” of the Tribulation fascinated me! Though parts closely resembled our world, the different parts stirred my imagination to think of how it will really be when the Tribulation comes. How will Believers get food if they don’t keep up with the governments regulations? Will there really be a new translation of the Bible with certain passages removed because of being “offensive?” And how do people meet to worship God if there is no church building? Tyndall tackles all of these situations and it certainly makes for an interesting read!

Secondly, the characters (especially the angelic ones!) will become so real to you as you read. Though the angels are my all time favorite, Grandma Tata is a close second. She is just what you would expect from a grandmother, with a twist on her personal story of faith. Once again, everything about this book makes you wonder what the Tribulation will really be like!

Conclusion: If you love a good undercover story, with a touch of the supernatural and romance, then you will love “When Angels Battle.” Though it is technically a sequel, you could read it without having read the first book, “When Angels Cry.” I feel like the main characters have enough of their own identity that the previous book wouldn’t interfere with understanding what this story is about. Like I’ve already mentioned, this story makes you think about the future and the prophesies of Revelation. It is a well rounded story that includes lots of Biblical references/Scriptures, real life situations like romantic interests and of course, that action packed, page turning intensity that comes with an end of the world novel. I highly recommend this story!

This book captured my attention from the first page and held it throughout reading this next installment by MaryLu Tyndall in her Guardians of the Saints series. As always, Tyndall paints a realistic setting and fleshes out characters who are as flawed as any of us. The presence and protection that God gives His saints is depicted beautifully, and undoubtedly re-invigorated my faith and awareness of His presence in my own life.

Beloved characters such as Nyla and Calan encourage me to take a look at myself, and to put myself in their shoes. Would I react to events as they did? Do I do that even now, even if the scene is a little different? I found myself rooting intensely for them during the story, seeing myself in their strengths and weaknesses both.

I would greatly recommend this novel to anyone whose faith needs some encouragement as it brings to light the battle between light and darkness. I am grateful for a greater awareness of the spiritual battle taking place every day because of this book. It was beautiful and I look forward to the next installment in this series!

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions of this novel are my own.

Revelations is my favorite book of the Bible. Makes me look forward to going home.
I thought the author had done an excellent job in bringing the characters and Relevelations to life.
The way she wrote it oh wow!
Definitely some heart stopping moments!
Makes me glad I won't be here for the tribulation!
This story really made me open my eyes to the events that is about to happen!. So exciting!
No longer will my eyes be closed!
This story has blessed me in so many ways that I highly encourage others to read it!
Some things about the last chapter of the Bible has me feeling confused however; but overall I still loved and enjoyed the story.
I did and didn't know about the Spiritual world. Sometimes I can feel them and at times even see them. It's hard to explain.
I really couldn't put this book down! It was so good!
I don't think anyone can write this last chapter of the Bible as well as Ms. Tyndall has!
Well done!
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Silly book

This story rated 1 star for the story line. Imagine a person having a direct line to the almighty, who works in a bar and uses lust to bring drunk patrons to Jesus. Bad enough but she can see spirits and demons, plus her guardian angel. Unbelievable even for a believer. It's lime a bad ghost and goblin book. Worse her back story as a wild child college student who tempts a seminary student into premarital sex, gets pregnant, keeps it a secret from the Godly seminary student and disappears for 12yrs. Then God tells her to save him because he strays from the path and she still blames him? She feels no regret that her son doesn't know he has a father, who is a decent man who actually cared for his mom. Sorry but no way I'd recommend this book to anyone, especially anyone serious about becoming a Christian.

I recommend that you read the first book in the series first (When angels cry) but this book can stand alone. I have read Marylu’s books for years and this is one of her best. She pulls back the veil on angelic warfare during the first half of the prophesied 7 year tribulation. Scripture references start each chapter. The author has a gift of story telling that keeps you interested until the end. If you know a lot about end time prophecy or very little this book is for both readers. The descriptions are Biblically sound and will leave you wanting to learn more. Hopefully the author will finish book 3 soon so we can see what happens to our favorite characters from previous books. This book is a wake up call to the Bride of Christ.

I LOVE this book. It has a little bit of everything rolled into one book. It kept me on my toes, wanting to see what happened next. It was hard to put the book down until I finished reading it. I like that Tyndall incorporate the Bible into the story to reveal how the 7 year tribulation will look like. When I read revelations, sometimes it is hard to understand what all is going on, but Tyndall breaks it down into a way I can understand. She tells a story using information from the Bible. I love the characters in the book as well. Nyla and Calan are awesome. I truly enjoyed this book, and can't wait to read the next one in the series!!!!!

I think MaruLu did an excellent job of depicting the first half of the Great Tribulation in this book "When Angels Battle". I was surprised by the timeline of some of the events but I think MaruLu did a great job writing a fictional novel based on the end times here on earth. She also did a great job writing about the spiritual battle constantly going on behind the scenes, and how prayer from the humans would help the angels in their battle against the demons, much like Frank Peretti did in his novels "Piercing the Darkness" & "This Present Darkness".

Nyla is trying to use her position to keep the peace, but it is getting harder due to all the chaos that still exists. She works her way into another group and soon finds it not to be as expected.

Calan is trying to find his place and soon finds himself guarding a very influential leader. He has to be cautious with those who are around him as he does not know exactly who he can trust.

The Angels on Earth are finding it harder to do their job as well as things are getting stirred up again.

A very suspenseful read and a real thought provoker.

This book is a sermon on finding and giving ourselves to the Lord.

I liked every page of this book, and disliked nothing. It was a wonderful reminder that our Lord God loves us, protects us, and wants us for His own. "Trusting Him'" fills the reader with an urgency for all to commit to and listen to what God tells us in our hearts and in our minds. A lovely book about what Revelation tells us will happen during the tribulation. Many thanks to the author, Mary Lou Tyndall, for this book. I cannot wait to read the book, W

Captivating!

This highly anticipated sequel to When Angels Cry will captivate you and touch you to your very soul. From page one, you will be on the edge of your seat, holding your breath. Vivid characters and well written Angels vs demons fighting scenes bring this story right into you living room, opening your eyes and causing you to think about your own mortality. Even though this is a work of fiction, I see a lot of truth. I highly recommend both When Angels Cry and When Angels Battle.

To die is gain

A very well written fiction loaded with scriptural truth. Just as revealed in Revelations, the end is near and still the nonbelievers will be deceived and unrepentant. How can you not believe.

I loved the scripture verses at the beginning of each chapter. I can wait to read the final book of this series. If you know in your heart you will spend eternity with Jesus. Rejoice.

Battling Angels

This series is so expertly written. Scriptures throughout the story line draw you into each character. I’m crying as I write this. I feel closer to Jesus and have a greater understanding of how much Jesus does love us. Also, understanding how Angels work at the fathers will for us.
Love love 💕 this series.
Thank you for making scripture come alive.
A must read!!!

Awesome!

This author has really done a wonderful job of telling a story right out of the pages of Revelation. I found myself praying, "Come quickly Lord Jesus, " and thanking Him for my salvation. I'm thankful for Christian author like Ms Tyndall who use their talent and their faith to share God's truth.

Great read

Loved this continuation of life during the tribulation for Daniel and his friends Nyla and Callan. I loved the angels so attached to their wards, loved how they needed an invitation to act. Only thing I expected to see Thomas in this episode, he wasn't. Not sure if there will be a third book....I hope so but in any case read this....it won't disappoint

An intense, but entirely plausible, imagining of the events that might occur after the Rapture, during the first half of the Tribulation.
