Now 13 yrs later Luke is a police officer for LAPD and even though it's against the rules, he is dating his partner. Amore was one of those books I just had to read. It checked off so many of my favorite genres. Lucas is a police officer. Frankie was the girl next door in a small town. They had been best friends as teens. They had one special night and then she was gone, only to see him again 10 years later. Can you figure out my favorite genres? Cop, girl next door, small town, friends to lovers, second chance romance.
Most of all, Amore was a statement of never ending love. My heart is still a pitter patter two days after reading the story. The story made me feel happy and contented. Amore is a beautiful example of true love and soul mates. I couldn't help but root for Lucas and Frankie to get their happily ever after.
The author didn't make it easy for me. There were some challenges along the way. After all she is a movie star and he is a LA police officer. That alone would make a relationship challenging. How good would an actress be if she didn't have stalker. Just when I started to relax, the author through me for a loop.
Just a little warning: Don't be surprised if you start humming or singing a certain song periodically throughout the story. I think it is time to watch Lady and the Tramp.
Amore is a sweet story about a love that is meant to be. Lucas Davenport has loved Frankie Borelli since she moved to the house next door. He was 12 years old back end, and somehow he knew she was the one.
Lucas now lives in Los Angeles and works as a police officer for the LAPD, while Frankie is a well-known actress. They haven't spoken to nor seen each other in nine years until Frankie goes to the exclusive club where Lucas works sometimes as private security to make ends meet. He might be dating a fellow officer, and she might be seeing the hottest actor in Hollywood, but none of it matters when their eyes cross. Frankie wants to talk to Lucas over coffee, and he quickly agrees.
When they learn Frankie has a stalker, Lucas vows to protect her even if it means putting his personal life and his career on hold. The story has a bit of suspense but, overall, it's a feel-good story. No major drama, just two people reconnecting and giving their love a second chance.
Even though it has been a decade since Luke saw Frankie he has never forgotten his best friend and first love even though their lives have taken them in different direction. When fate brings them back together the chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever.
Frankie is a successful actress who has attracted the attention of the wrong man. She thought she was content with her life but her feelings for Luke are a complication she wasn’t expecting but is it enough to overcome the past?
Frankie and Luke have always belonged together, and they take us on a romantic journey but first they must not only overcome the past but the challenges in the present as well.
Lucas and Frankie have known each other since they were kids and neighbors together. Frankie is a world famous actress and Lucas is a LAPD cop. They meet each other in the most opportune places. Luke was a LAPD cop who was dating his partner, Candace .. They were celebrating their six month anniversary in Santa Barbara.
I absolutely love that Luke, Lucy & Frankie are finally reconnected I love how much Luke and Frankie are still in love with each other from childhood and are getting the chance to see if their relationship would work. I absolutely loved the twists and turns of this book especially the epilogue
Aw yeah, girl/boy-next-door/friends-to-lovers/second chance/suspense romances are definitely all in my top go-to trope reads. It’s a little bit Notting Hill (which is one of my favorite movies) with her fame and boy next door Hero. There’s a touch of suspense with a hint of mystery as they have to deal with an ex-drama and a stalker. Despite having ties to Sensations this one is more tame- sweet with a hint of spice. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Frankie and Lucas were next door neighbors, teenage best friends, and both secretly liking one other. Then right before Frankie heads off to college she asks Luke for a favor that forever changes their lives. Now, nine years later, Frankie is an actress and Luke is a cop, and fate throws them together again. I devoured this book, and right from the start I was rooting for Lucas and Frankie’s happily ever after. This second chance romance was beautifully written, with wonderful characters, and filled with suspense, drama, mystery, and love. A definite must read and a personal favorite. Highly recommend.
Lucas and Frankie captured my heart in a surprising way – I genuinely truly adore these two together. Their journey is a symbol of love, and hope. I cannot explain how much I love these two together. Their happiness is not easy to get to but is it worth it? For me yes, but you need to read this story to truly appreciate it.
This book was so sweet and endearing to read. Kimberly has done it again in terms of hooking me in and allowing me to fall in love with her characters, and their story of love, and hope. This book was a winner for me and I love their story – and oh boy is it a story! Enjoy!
I love me a good second chance romance and this one did not disappoint. This was a fun story but an ample dose of drama. Luke and Frankie were adorable together and despite them having a lot to overcome they had a heartwarming ending.
I don’t want to give to much away in this review but I loved Lucas and Frankie it is a great romance I loved the drama they went through before their happy ever after. A must read 5 Stars
This was such a sweet feel good story with some angst, drama, and suspense thrown in. The new girl in town moves in next door, becomes best friends with the girl and the younger brother secretly falls in love with her. Years later they unexpectedly run into each other. I liked how Kimberly brought in pieces of their pasts into their present. I give the A in the ABCs of love series an A!
Oh this book! Wow. A boy next door romance spread over the years. A story full of love, friendship, family with suspence. I honestly couldn't put this book down. A brilliant romance story, I couldn't put it down.
This was the perfect combination of a sweet second chance romance and threatening action. Frankie and Luke are great characters and I love how honest they were with each other when they met up again.
Great second time romance story. I loved Lucas and Frankie and it was lovely to see their journey back to reconnecting and and their friendship developing into a heartwarming love story.
"When the moon hits your eye like a big piece of pie, that's amore!" ~Frankie's version
This song winds through Frankie and Luke's story like a stream through the woods. ~~~~~~ Honestly the first thing that caught my eye about the book was a dog as a side kick; I'm a sucker for pets in a story! The second item that pulled me in was the second chance/ friends to lovers... that hits home with me. The fact that Luke (Lucas) fell for Frankie/Franks (Francesca) the day she moved in next door, and having his POV all along, was enjoyable. I haven't read many books where he falls first, and I always love hearing both main character's points of view.
Frankie/Franks/Francesca was the new girl who moved in next door, and becomes best friends with Luke's older sister Lucy, who was the same age as Frankie, and all three were inseparable growing up. The night before Frankie heads off to Juliard, pursuing her dream of being a movie star, she asks Luke for a favor, forevermore becoming "That Night" ... one that nine years later still haunts him, and her.
When they run into each other again, him as an LAPD police officer, moonlighting as a security guard for a swanky exclusive party spot, and she, a world famous movie star on the arm of the hottest actor on screen, they immediately reconnect, and it rekindles the long-banked flame of first love. However, with both taken, they have decisons to make if they want to pursue the feelings that never went away.
Throw in an unrelenting stalker, and a sweet pup named Amore, there's a nice mix of second chances, sweet puppy love, and the suspense of what will happen next.
I enjoyed the flashbacks to the past best friend relationships between Frankie, Lucy, and Luke. When Frankie and Luke take the moral high road and wait to be together, instead of throwing caution to the wind made me feel better about the situation, too. I would have liked to see more of the dog training involved with Amore, but know it wasn't the focus; I just love animals.
Overall, it's a feel-good, quick read I was glad to have read.
*TW/CW: there is an attempted sexual attack, and some PTSD lightly touched on, not fully-detailed and short-lived, but there.
My thanks to the author/PA for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No review was expected, and no compensation was received.
Luke fell in love with Frankie on the first day she moved in next door at the age of 14. They were friends until she left for college. Also, he was her first for sex before she left for NY. Nine years later, they bump into each other at a private exclusive club. He's the bouncer/doorman, and she's on the arm of another actor. They meet over coffee. He has a girlfriend. She's his partner police officers on the LAPD. Once he realized he was still in love with Frankie, he broke up from Candace She has a stalker and is afraid to be alone. She hires Luke to be her bodyguard. The stalker breaks into her house while she is taking a shower and then tries to rape her. Luke gets there in time to save her. She has a movie filming in Canada and wants Luke to go with her. While there, she looks to buy another home. She can't go back to the house. While they are gone, someone broke into Luke's apartment. Nothing looks damaged. But, once he gets home. He checked out the apartment and found someone had been in his gum case. His backup gun is missing. Frankie and Luke are happy together and ready to start a life together. Engaged and a baby on the way. What could go wrong? A stalker or a crazy ex-girlfriend? Which one will mess with their happiness? Great story by Kimberly Knight.
Fun , steamy , emotional, angsty , romantic , second chances ,witty banter , humorous, heartfelt, heartbreaking, off the charts chemistry. AMORE by Kimberly Knight has it all and more . From the moment I met both Frankie and Lucas I just found myself so quickly becoming invested in their journey. Both are so very likable and relatable . It really did not take very long for them to grab onto all my emotions, and pull me right in .Frankie and Lucas were best friends as teenagers but over time they ended up pursuing their own dreams and went in two different directions. It’s now been nine long years since they’ve seen one another . Unbeknownst to both though that’s going to change . Lucas is now a LAPD police officer and Frankie is a famous actress. One night while working security at a night club Lucas and Frankie come face to face . The attraction is absolutely undeniable, their chemistry is so freaking hot you can literally feel it coming off the pages .. Throw in a unresolved relationship between Lucas and his partner , some complications and Frankie’s stalker and you have quite the ride - a emotional rollercoaster In every sense of the word .How will it all turn out? Well your just going to have to find out for yourself. I highly recommend this awesome book
Amore is a really sweet friends to lovers story with a bit of suspense thrown in. Lucas fell in love with Frankie when she and her family moved in next door. He was just 12 years old, but she made him feel things no other girl ever had. Frankie and his sister were both 14 and the three of them become best friends. Before she goes off to college she asks Lucas for a favor. He doesn’t see her again after that night for nine years. When they cross paths again she is an actress and he is a police officer with the LAPD. The two of them get together for coffee one morning and things progress pretty quickly after that. Frankie is being stalked and hired Lucas to protect her. While the two of them are falling in love they’re are also scary things happening around them. I enjoyed watching them fall in love and I loved the suspense aspect of the story. This is a really good book that I will be recommending my reading buddies.
Oh, Lucas and Frankie store was so good. This story is full of excitement, love, compassion, drama and suspense all wrapped into one. Lucas was the boy next door when Frankie and her family moved in next door. Lucas was in love at first site but Frank as a little older than him at the time and became best friends with his sister. They both had a thing for each other, but no one knew outside of his family. Many years have gone by when they end up finding each other again and the sparks fly. Lucas is a Beat cop and Frankie is living her dream on being famous. Frankie is in trouble, and she does not even know it, but Lucas is back in her life and will stop at nothing to save the love of his life. I loved every minute of this story as it gave me some excitement, laughs and that good old love. I would recommend this story to anyone it was good, and the only down fall was it was not long enough for me. But I am a greedy read and when the stories are good, I want more.
Can you really find your soulmate at 12 years old? For Lucas Davenport that is what happens when he meets Francesca Borelli. These two have a love like no other, but sometimes that is not enough and when heartbreak happens well they will lose their friendship. Now years later they run into each other and for Lucas his feelings are still as strong as they were the day he met her. Lucas is now working for LAPD and Francesca is an actress who has become famous a stalker now wants a piece of her. What is Lucas to do but protect her with his life? Can he though? And what happens when the stalker is revealed? These two have lives outside of each other but it might come crashing down. Kimberly Knight nails all the aspects of this story. Love, passion, drama, and a little extra more.
I always love a book that keeps me wondering what’s to come from each turn of the page right up til the very end. And that’s exactly what Kimberly Knight did with Amore. The suspense had me at the edge of my seat wanting to know more. I really loved the characters especially Frankie and Luke. If I was to choose a fave it would definitely be Luke, if you’re a woman who loves a man to take care of you and be all protective, then Luke is the perfect book boyfriend to make you swoon. Then we have Frankie, the girl next store who wasn’t afraid to give up everything to achieve her dreams, even if that meant sacrificing her first love. Amore had it all; suspense, romance, drama and so much more. Highly recommend.
Omg this book was sooooooo good. Childhood friends who were secretly in love with each other and after spending one night together, Frankie leaves and purposely avoids both Luke and his sister who was her best friend.
10 years later, both are in LA. Luke is working for LAPD and security on the side, and Frankie is an actress in the silver screen. But the spark is still there! Except Frankie has a stalker and Luke wants to help her...
Lots of crazy things happen... but thankfully, Luke is able to save the day from not only one but two people who want to hurt Frankie.
Frankie and Luke first met when they were kids and Frankie moved in next door to Luke’s family. Years later, the two happened to run into one another. While Luke has been in love with Frankie since the moment he first laid eyes on her, he has questions. What happened that night, all those years ago, to make her completely ghost him? As they reconnect and get reacquainted, things start to go awry in each of their personal lives. The two attempt to navigate through their relationship, but they encounter several obstacles that threaten their safety. Can Luke keep them both safe?
Frankie, a typical teenager, is upset that they are moving out of state until she meets Luke, a typical younger brother and the boy next door. As the story progresses a favor is asked, their past becomes masked, and upon reuniting things become more than they are tasked. Kimberly Knight definitely put the more in Amore. Featuring loveable characters, young romance, and second chances, this book is a read again and again for me.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
This was an absolutely adorable story of second chance at love. It was a bit suspenseful, drama filled, emotional and utterly heartwarming.
Frankie and Lucas are such fantastic characters that are down to earth and relatable. They continually had me smiling and gushing with love over the two of them. I kept my fingers crossed the whole way through hoping that they would get their second chance at a happy ever after.
Really well written story that gives you all the feels and leaves you wonderfully satisfied in the end.
4.5 Stars Its been 10 years since they last saw each other but for Frankie and Luke as soon as they reconnect it seems like no time at all, but their lives have drastically changed. Luke is a police officer and Frankie is a world famous actress. When Luke discovers Frankie has a stalker he decides he has to be the one to protect her but where will it lead them and will their hearts be unscathed.
Amore was a fab story from Kimberly Knight, she never fails to deliver and this is another one of many of her books that I can highly recommend.
