As Orion and Alena’s relationship blooms and solidifies, the two investigative teams combine their recent discoveries to piece together more of the Kra-ell mystery. Attacking the puzzle from another angle, Eleanor works on gaining access to Echelon’s powerful AI spy network. Together, they are getting dangerously close to finding the elusive Kra-ell.
Dark Hunters Book (The Children of the Gods Book 58) by I T Lucas. I got this book this morning and, as with all I T Lucas books, I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it. As usual there about 3 or 4 different stories going on in the one book and it's easy to follow each story. Can't wait for the next book.
There are so many beloved characters and so many twists and turns that I’m sad when the story is done and anxiously await the next segment to be released. Excited for the next installment…
Ok, please tell me how and why Cassandra and Geraldine would not be put on the governments list as persons of interest if their phones were tapped and with Leo giving information about Roni’s location in conjunction with that? If Leo reported and gave his name, they would clearly know he was “the father” and he would have likely had to also say that Cassy and Geraldine were the ones that had contact with Roni and also possibly how, thru the 23andme or whatever site. And then, with them tapping the phone lines, they would know that the meet with Roni and location was the same as what was discussed with Darlene as their meeting place for dinner. Not to mention these long lost relatives appearing at the same time Roni appeared after all these years? I mean, come on with the stupid shit!🙄🙄
Speaking of Darlene, why does no one know what Ronja is doing to prepare her body for transition? The village has always been gossip city, yet none of them know to mention her to Darlene that that is a possible recourse she could take to help smooth the way? Ronja is older than her and although the process hasn’t proven beneficial yet, it’s still an option for Darlene and it is for Ronja who is about 10 years older. 🙄🙄 They are all so fearful for her transition yet no one has mentioned this kernel of hope? Riding.🙄🙄
Every chapter with Alena opens with her talking about how happy she is with Orion. Every. Single. Chapter. We know! OMG! We know. Move on! Then it’s filled with the same shit, how grateful she is, how she beseeches the fates for a child with him, how she doesn’t know if she could be without Annani, etc etc. No knew information is ever given, but towards the end she loses the Annani part. One time the author even wrote her thinking that she would never see Annani again if she mated with Orion… Really? Why in the hell would she never see her mother again? None of her siblings have that problem because they mated. It’s not like planes would suddenly stop working or video chat would be rendered obsolete. Ridiculous.
I’m invested in these characters and the fate of the clan, but the writing is not up to par. The storyline is convoluted with ridiculous inner monologue that detracts from the story vice adding to it. It’s clear that the author is trying to stretch it out, but she’s taking from the story by doing so. You can read an entire book and the storyline would progress until the very end chapters, the rest all being filler fluff that reveals no new information. I’m glad I’m almost caught up to the current book, which in 70 I think. I don’t know if I’ll read the new ones after this unless it’s released as I finish up.
See my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading.
The book count for this series may seem daunting since this is the 58th book, thankfully the way IT Lucas organizes the series is by having the books are set in 3-4 books in a mini-series that revolves around a main couple. There are often side characters & couples that you will see develop along side the main couple. The series does have an overarching storyline that continues through all the books so it is best to read them in order. These books are also told from the POV of multiple individuals, even many of the side characters or members of previous highlighted coupled. Each chapter clearly identifies who is telling their story so it is easy to follow.
This is the final book for Alena & Orion and oh goodness is this an ending. I am really loving where the story is going with the Kra-ell as well as the side story for Geraldine’s family. This was another great book and I can’t wait to see where the story goes!
Dark Hunters Boon KU 318 pgs ***.* 2/23/22 Orion & Alena
3.5 stars mainly for so much talking and thinking in the characters heads. The story continued with Orion & Alena becoming closer as mates. A new female character is introduced and fits in with Vrog though it’s in the awkward stages. The search for Kra-ell continued with some clues found in their trip to China, and that was exciting. We did get to have more of Kalugal & Jackie, Lokan & Carol, Mey, Jin, Ronja and Merlin and a few others. Parker was able to practice on his compulsion. This was the 3rd book for Orion & Alena so the next 3 books should entail a new couple. The book was okay, seems like the farther away from the original characters this goes, the less interesting the books become to me. If they weren’t on KU at this point, I’m not sure I would continue reading them.
I have so much I want to say!! It’s killing me trying to hold back. There are some phenomenal surprises, tender moments abound, tension and excitement around every corner. The discoveries are exciting with both groups. Haha you’ll have to read it to know what I mean. I do think I’m falling for Kalugal. I adore the way he interacts with Aliya teaching with loving guidance while empowering her and helping her to flourish and learn how she really is. Since, for 14 years it’s been about survival. Still not getting enough of Merlin and Ronja. I love them!! Had a random thought while reading. What if it’s finally Williams turn? After Toven and Mia obviously. But what if Darlene is Williams true love match!?!? That would be so exciting and perfect!! Ha, I guess we’ll see. Enjoy reading!! It’s absolutely hilarious and exciting.
The problem that is happening in this series is that instead of focusing on one couple and their conflict we have around a dozen characters getting a voice in. There is just too much going on and nothing gets resolved. The characters also spend so much time spouting random facts, New innovations they discovered and random nonsense. Like a you can't kill and eat animals tantrum that it reads like a news website and comment section. It's like everything the author saw on the net or tv must somehow be spouted in the book. It means the majority of the book is people sitting around a table having small chat instead of actually doing anything. I almost shelved this one.
I liked this book the most out of the three in this series. There was some nice tension and excitement (actually started in Book 57, but carried over to this one) and some surprises.
I can't wait for the next series. Will they find Toven? And if they do, what will happen when he and Annani meet again? Will Darlene agree to attempt transition? Will Ronja's transition go smoothly? And who will Aliya choose--Vrog or Phinas? (Does this sound like the end of a soap opera episode to anyone else?)
The next book comes out in about a month, so I shouldn't have to wait long for my answers. (I'm still waiting for someone to find Khiann and bring him out of stasis!)
I can't get enough of these books. It's like a soap opera for bibliophiles. The only thing I would see changed is that everyone seems too goody goody and too proper. I know we all would love to be better versions of ourselves but we aren’t like that in every aspect of our lives. So reading about all these characters that seem to all make the right decisions and are always polite in conversation. I guess I'm just used to there being a villain or a lot more other action. But I'm still addicted to finding out what's going to happen with all the characters I've gotten to know. I want to know when Ananni gets her happy ending. We all know Khiann was buried like Wonder is just waiting to find his love. Keep going Isa. Children of the God's Book ♾️.
I was so excited to get the third book in the Dark Hunter's "trilogy" so I could see how Alena and Orion came to find their HEA. I was not disappointed! The ending is a wonderful ending although we know Ms. Lucas will keep weaving their story throughout the rest of the Saga. I love how each "trilogy" is focused around a main couple, but you get other stories woven in. Dark Hunter's Boon included so many new threads to be added to the saga as well as moving others along with realistic timing. I find that keeping the side stories moving throughout the entire saga is what makes this saga unique. So many things to look forward to in the next book!
Oh my god I can not get enough of IT Lucas books they just pull you into the story and you don't want to let go until you are finished. I try not to read it too fast as I don't want the story to end but she has again written a good story line that is just gripping, romantic, full of suspense and a good dam story line that keep you wanting more and I can not wait to read Book #59 - I just hope she doesn't stop there - there is just too much to the story that needs to be finished.
I really like where the author takes us with this series. It gets more and more intersting with the Kraell and now the search for Torven. I've followed this series since book 1 and even though some books were weaker I still enjoy the story about the children of the gods. I am very much looking forward to the next book.
Conclusion:
Still enjoying this awesome series. Can't wait to read the next book.
On their trip to the mountains the Clan uncover Aliya promising her Kalagul compensates her for her home that she has now lost the girls have a shopping day out.
Vlog and the others fly over to meet them as Vlog can't wait to meet Aliya like him a kra-ell hybrid.
At breakfast Vlog announces his congratulations to Alena & Orion "future" Upon hearing their news Alena decided their next adventure to find Toven, Orions father
I wonder who Aliya will choose. I hope it's vrog, he seems lonely. Finding Toven will change everything In their battle against Navuh. Another fantastic read. Each book has me more intrigued and wanting more more more. It's got to be the most compelling series ive ever read.
Even after so many, I never tire of the series. Extremely well written and edited, and masterfully crafted. I love the clan and the adventures they have. Mysteries galore and every element you want. I’m a voracious reader, and it takes a lot to keep me interested. But when a new episode comes out, it makes me so happy.
I am obsessed with this series! I wait for every book and know the day it comes, my family exp. my. daughter Knows the plot ish line and every one knows I'm going to read till done! Which I do every time. One day later I am done and I'm missing my book and waiting for the next release!
This book exceed my expectations and I am excited to see if Ronja transitions and if Amanda gives birth I am also wondering in Phineas or Vrog will will Alijah love I am so happy for Orion and Alena I hope Mey and Yamanu Lokan and Carol all get pregnant I am waiting in bated breath for Darlene’s decision
I cannot begin to explain how much I love this series of books. I came for the hot romance but stayed for the writing.
It has a bit of everything in the best possible way. Adventure, romance, intrigue, paranormal beings, humor, mythology, historical fiction...the list goes on.
I hope the story of Annani and her clan continues for eternity
Adventures and babies, what could go wrong? Guess I'll find out in the next book. Can't stop reading this series. Not a full moment and I'm excited about new characters. Love is in the air, danger lurking about at every scene, seriously this is a good book.
This book had the most fantastic ending! I loved the whole trilogy, but this book was really good. I love how other characters stories interweave between each trilogy and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.
Very excited about Alena and Orion, they deserve a HEA. Didn't like Jacki going into tunnels in her condition, it didn't make sense. I hope Aliya chooses Vrog instead of Phineas. Also like the update on other characters. Read the book in one day.
I. T. Lucas continues to add twists and turns to this series. Discoveries, new loves, friendships and adventures. This book does not disappoint. My only complaint is that I need more!
I cannot wait to for the next book when Toven comes into the picture and one of the Gods reunite with Annani! And for him to find out he will be a grandfather will be amazing!
I love this series. The plot is phenomenal. This book was excellent with multiple exciting storylines. My favorite thing about this series is that after characters find their true love they don't vanish, they remain integrated into the story. Great concept and delivery.
As always, I just love every one of these series. Orion’s story was no exception. Waiting for Tovin’s series it going to be hard. I. T. Lucas’ writing style is excellent. She is one of my very favorite authors.
I swear this series is the best! I finished this one just now and loved it! Really if you are looking for great series look no further. I don't like to give spoilers but I love the love story, the ins and outs. I laughed and cried reading this one!
So sweet! Enjoyed the Kra-ell factors a lot and Alena + Orion is growing on me though they are really just too sweet for words. Darlene is annoying but she is becoming more self-aware which has me liking her lots more. Next book, please!
When I finish devouring every one of these books, I can't wait for the next one to come out. This is the best series i have ever read. Thank you Ms. Lucas for these incredible stories!
