Book 1 SINGLE IN SITKA
Amanda McKendrick is a journalist for the Seattle Sentinel Newspaper. She loved her job, but lately was distracted. Her boyfriend of five years, Bryce, had walked out of her apartment two months ago, leaving behind a break-up note and a stack of bills. She had thought he was “The One!” At thirty-two she found herself alone with her biological clock ticking. That is why she was sitting at her work desk, but instead of concentrating on work, all of her attention was focused on an article in The Odds Are Good magazine. She was especially looking and dreaming at one Single's Ad:

Luke
While Amanda is daydreaming about Luke, she actually misses her deadline for her presentation of her next big article for the paper. Luckily, she remembers the headline just above Luke’s ad: “Bear Attacks on the Rise in Sitka.” So she pitches the story. To her amazement and shock everyone goes crazy for the idea. Complete with a planned event to raise money to save the bears. She finds herself headed to Alaska for two weeks to get to the bottom of the bear issue. Even if she is being sent to help save the bears, she secretly hopes to meet Luke and maybe have a fling.
Book 2 NOME-O SEEKS JULIET
NOME-O SEEKS JULIET “MUST LIKE DOGS”
Musher. Fit. Single. 34. Retired military, honorably discharged. I'm looking for a woman to race with me. Training available.
Juliet (Yes, that is her real name) Sanderson, from Missoula, Montana, is a veterinary student in her final year of study. As one of her final papers, she wanted to shadow a professional musher and then write a study on the relationship between sled dogs and their owners. There was a musher that was allowing her to stay with him and follow his interaction with his dogs. But has to cancel after suffering a sudden stroke. Then to make matters even more dire, she walks in to find that her professor/boyfriend was having sex with another student. She decides right then that she will take a chance on the ad, and seek out the Nome-O in Rome, Alaska. After all his ad was in the classified and not in the personal section.
Cody Garrison, a retired U.S. Marine, doesn't tell Juliet that he was permanently left with a disability from his time in service. She hasn't told him that besides coming to Alaska to learn to race. That she is there to study him and his interaction with his dogs. They have a lot of baggage to overcome. Yet, they both have a lot of love to give. One broken solitary man, and one caring warmhearted young woman find each other. They just have so many things standing in their way, that they must overcome.
Book 3 A FAIRBANKS AFFAIR
A distillery owner named Trevor Starling was left betrayed and very brokenhearted when his brother and fiancée had sex the night before Trevor's wedding. He wasn't looking forward to an upcoming lonely New Year's Celebration. So he places an ad in the The Odds Are Good, seeking a woman that was also up to a no-strings attached weekend of sex:

Her eyes find Trevor's Ad. It sounded like just what her 30 year old virgin body & heart would enjoy.

Chopper pilot with a taste for adventure offers a bite of the wild side to a woman with courage, curiosity, and confidence. I am thirty-five years old. Five foot ten. Lean. Alutiiq with husky-blue eyes. Fortune favors the bold!
Addison DeWitt, Esq., who graduated magna cum laude from Stanford, and sees the ad. Figures her assistant must have been looking for a single man in Alaska again. She forgets all about it. She is leaving on a flight for Valdez, Alaska. Her twin brother, Elliot is missing. He is all she has, and she is going to do everything humanly possible to find him.
Fate is very fickle! The very chopper pilot that she has hired to help find her missing brother, fits the description of the personal ad that she had just read yesterday. She is absolutely positive it is him. His name is Gideon Grinoriev. There will be more than just coincident that has matched and brought these two unlikely people together.

A goid group of stories
This collection is different from most in that the connection to all he stories is the state of Alaska and personal ads being placed in a particular paper. All the men placed ads for different reasons and the women who answered also had their readons.
Single in Sitka was Amanda & Luke. His sister placed the ad unknown to Luke and Amanda was one of many who answered. Her reason was about a job , she's a journalist, and Luke has no idea she's coming.
Nome-o seeks Juliet was my favorite. Juliet answers an ad placed by Cody. He needs a female to compete as his partner in a sled dog race so he can qualify for the Iditarod. She's a veterinarian student writing a thesis about the relationship between sled dogs and mushers. Oh, and Cody was injured from an ied when he was in the service.
A Fairbanks Affair was an interesting twist. Trevor places an ad because he's still angry of his brother and ex- fiancee. Faye answers it because,we read for her reason. It was fun to read.
Valdez Valentine was a harder read. Addison doesn't really answer Gideon's ad, she's there because of her brother. But he's the one who ends up helping her. This wasn't A light hearted read, like the other three, but a good story.

All four stories were awesome, one of my favorite things was that in each story they were honest and up front with each other. No mind games, just straight and honest conversation.

Great Collection
The Odds Are Good series is a fabulous collection of tales all over Alaska. Differing circumstances and tropes, all heartfelt and inspiring. Love can be found in all kinds of places as long as you are open to it. Great collection.

I liked the first 2 stories and the fourth. But did not enjoy the premise of the third.
