Women are known to be the ones who can feed herself and the entire family when in need, who bears a child but can be considered as the primary caretakers of children and elders.
Weirdly, women are objectified as well. Many people till date consider women as a sexual object, they have no respect for them.
The author via this book has presented the concept of the objectified women very clearly. This book has six chapters and is of 165 pages, but all the stories are written in such a manner that you will be forced to think twice. From breaking boundaries, following dreams, breaking the societal barrier, to office politics this book has it all. This book is all about glorifying women, to make her understand that, 'You Go Girl'.
A beautiful concept, and an eye opener. The author has narrated each story very delicate way. Touching, emotional and eye opener for the society of today.
Kudos to the author for this amazing thought process and this book.
"Wo Sacchi Badnam Aurate" by Nikhil Kapoor is a book which is based on the genre of short stories. This read contains 9 stories related to the women's struggle which they face while being independent. The labels, tags and restrictions which the society puts on the women are really harsh and mean. BOOK REVIEW BOOK - wo sachchi badnam auratein AUTHOR - Nikhil Kapoor GENRE - Anthology
There are several stereotypes and prejudices which the modern women in India face today. Be it in rural or urban areas. The battles which they face a multifaceted and numerous.
The author has beautifully penned down short stories which gives us a reality check about situation which women find themselves in.
The author quashed several notions which people pass around without much thought.
Be it the role of a caretaker or a ambitious women or a rape victim or a victim of unwanted and false gossip. Women are surrounded on all sides with the unwanted attention. The stories were a eye opener for me and also strengthened my resolve to not to crumble under the nonsense but be the women who I intend to be.
Wo Sachchi Badnaam Auratein by Nikhil Kapoor is a book that moved me deeply.
The book is a compilation of six stories. All of their central focus are women and how their daily lives are embroiled with the injustices of the society environment.
Each story has a message where it will prick your conscience and provoke your heart to ponder upon them.
The title is eye-catching and very appropriate for the subject and theme discussed in the stories within this book. It is also something that attracted me to give this a read.
All the stories are really short and can be finished with few minutes. Some of the dialogues are witty, sad and painful to read which is also what liked about this book.
The writing style is lucid and the characters are three-dimensional who are beautifully portrayed within the pages.
Never thought that a man can write such an amazing book. This book consists of tales of women who are often misunderstood because they dare to stand out from the crowd because they are outspoken. But if you see, this book is a kind of empowerment for women as well. This book made me rethink relationships, how I interact with other people, and how I treat myself. helped me realize some ugly truths about current friendships and the work I need to do in order to grow. uncomfortable but necessary reading. I don't want to go on about this book too much seeing as it's exclusively about the female experience and I don't want to trample on that or sound holier than thou. I think all men should read it and feel uncomfortable with its truth. Women are not objects.
The book is a precise read on women, their left untold diaries. It was fantastic and thought provoking experience in reading such a masterpiece. The author had beautifully penned and took a raw pace on such subject which is both sensible and necessary to every men and society. I felt the need of such words going to public .
The cover page is just apt for the theme and an eye catching take off to start the book. Language of the book is apparent. Recommended to every reader as non reader to known the truth behind women existence.
A collection of 6 stories depicting women in different situations fighting their battles and bringing out a fresh perspective .The good thing about this book is crisp writing .You will find yourself contemplating on some thoughts churned out while immersing in this book.
