Typically I love Feehan's books, I have read all of her series. However, the Torpedo Ink series has been one of the roughest for me to enjoy. I get that all the characters have their kink and that's totes fine. As well as survivors their kinks has its own roots. As a survivor myself I truthfully can understand that perspective.
But where you lost me was in the depiction of a certain activity that shouldn't happen to childre being written as it most definitely should not be written - as too much pleasure.
In the past and in this series you look to help children in unwanted circumstances; however the way you wrote about the instances and labeled them as a pleasurable moment you are uplifting that behavior towards children rather than saying what it is - rape. I hope you will correct the verbage in this book - as a survivor I implore you. I am more worried that the wrong type of people will begin to read your books.
Unfortuanetly, with how triggering this book was to me - I had to stop and put it down many times. I am unsure if I will be able to finish it; I stopped at Chapter 5 (20.2%)
As a parent and adult I would not use the term pleasure on a prebusent child remembering their past.

And I did appreciate that she started to place trigger warnings prior to the book. Can't remember which one she started without the warning and I fumbled.
I love Feehan's books I just feel that lately most of her series have been bleeding the same storyline. The only one I noticed that is not is her newest series.

My Review
First Impressions
Savage Road is the second part of the duo of this pairing and I will admit that I was highly nervous heading into this one, I am not sure why, because rarely does Christine Feehan actually let me down, however, I will say I took too long reading this one. I have had access to this ARC for a while, but I think I knew I wanted to go into this one with the right frame of mind and a certain mood because this does deal with some more complicated issues. But I can reassure you that this story is definitely worth it because it completely blew my mind away. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but after the first book “Annihilation Road” with this pair, I wasn’t sure how this author could beat that one, but Feehan definitely shows the true core of her talent with this one. I greatly appreciated the manner by which this author did her research and its evident within the story how well she handled these certain scenes that other authors would struggle with. While the scenes were hot and intense, there was also so much heart packed within this one story that won me over completely.
The Summary
Savage Road starts off with Savage and Seychelle learning to adapt to each other’s needs, and it’s not an easy transition. Savage is hard and rough around the edges, but his devotion to Seychelle is complete, except for one factor that could prove to be more of a challenge than either of them are ready for …..his loyalty and bond to his club. Savage is a brother first and foremost, and they are his family, but Seychelle is his heart but they seem to be clashing against each other, and Savage is not prepared for the challenges ahead for him & Seychelle. Seychelle is struggling with her new life with Savage, and she is coming to realize that a life with him, is going to be tough and more difficult than she initially had thought when she committed to him. She is struggling with facing the fact that she comes second to the club, and when tensions clash between Seychelle and some of the members of the club, Seychelle is wondering if she has a place in Savage’s life. But Savage is a fighter and doesn’t go down without a fight. Savage is not willing to give up on his girl so easily, but their plot thickens when there is more at work than meets the eye, and both Savage and Seychelle will have to learn to trust in one another fully, before securing the safety of those they love the most….
What I Liked
There is SO much that I LOVED about this book and I what a whirl of adventure, angst, and sexual tension that so worked for me in every way. Christine Feehan has definitely upped her game with Savage Road. There was so much depth to this story and what a page-turner. Of course, Feehan will almost always do that for me, but considering the length of this story, I was highly impressed with this one here. I really felt for both Savage and Seychelle as they maneuver their way through this relationship and the landmines that have to overcome. Savage is a hero that is alpha, a sadist, and likes control, but he does learn flexibility here. Seychelle is independent but not in an overly feminist way, but more genuine and relatable but she struggles with the club and does not feel a part of them, she feels like an outsider and it starts to threaten the bond she has with Savage. As you read through this one, you can see both sides of the issue and you wonder how on earth are they going to resolve this. But they do and its done in a way that is so flawless. Then we have the sex scenes with this one and I knew it would get intense but my goodness I have never known Feehan to write scenes like this before. This was a whole another level than what we have seen from her previously. You aren’t going to be ready for this one here. And I can confirm its definitely more intense than what we received from Annihilation Road, but seeing Seychelle be so giving and open-hearted with Savage and full of acceptance and love within these moments was so heart-achingly beautiful. We see the strength and power of their connection and its entrenched so deep within the vibrancy of their connection which showcases a beautiful romance that captures the heart so easily yet with such depths

Savage Road is a romance that portrays the challenges that relationships represent but opens the eyes to the depths of love and the ability to overcome any hurdles come what may. It’s a tale that will tear the heart at times but will revitalize the emotion that shines like that of the noon-day sun. Savage and Seychelle’s story is guaranteed to capture the beautiful essence and power of love and its capabilities in such a tremendous manner…..come prepare for a book that will stun you into silence.
The fact that she felt she wasn’t first in his life, she was—and she wasn’t. She was. She was his fucking world. The center of it. The heart of it.

I love all of you, Seychelle. I fell so hard for everything you. You bring me sunlight. You taught me how to laugh. I didn’t have hope, and you gave that to me. I had no future and you gave me one. There’s a brightness in you, and you were generous enough to share that with me, knowing what I am and what I’ll always be.

This is the second book about Savage because this man is so complex and his story is so compelling that one book, Annihilation Road, was not enough. This book takes place a few months after the last book, so Seychelle and Savage have gotten to know each other better but she still hasn't seen Savage at his worst yet. Savage is a sadist but he made sure that she knew that before bringing her into his life. The fact is, Seychelle likes the pain he brings her with the whips but he hasn't let himself really show her what he considers, the monster inside him when he's taken too much of his friend's pain, rage and anger inside himself.
Savage has a psychic gift that helped him and his family stay alive when they were children being held captive and abused. He can take some of their pain, anger and rage into himself but if he takes too much, his way of releasing it is to release the monster inside himself and use the whips he's so good at using. It's either that or go to a fight club and beat the crap out of his opponent but his family has had to pull him off of the other guy too many times before he killed someone. So it's no wonder he's afraid to let Seychelle see the monster inside him, he's not sure she'll ever be ready to be with him when he's in that kind of mindset even though she likes some pain mixed with their more intimate times.
Savage is a control freak and wants to control Seychelle all the time but she's also no pushover so it was fun to watch as they try to navigate their new relationship and Savage has to try and figure out how to give Seychelle the freedom she needs while still holding onto the control that he needs.
Brandon from the last book is still trying to influence Seycheele because he has a psychic gift that let's him influence people with his voice but because Seycheele has the same gift, he can't influence her and he's take that as a challenge. He is mad because Seychelle was able to break the psychic hold he had on a couple of women and now he wants revenge on her for interfering.
When a hit is put out on Savage and a body is found murdered, Savage is the first person that the police suspect but they have no case because he has an alibi. But that just makes the person setting him up madder and out for revenge even more. As Seychelle uses her gift on several people to see who is and who isn't influenced by Brandon's gift, it becomes apparent that Brandon isn't the only other one with a psychic gift. Someone else has been putting thoughts into people's minds for one reason or another and because of this, more than just Seychelle and Savage are in danger.
It was fun to watch them figure out who is behind the problems and how it all fit together. I like Savage and Seychelle even though I knew going into these books that Savage was a sadist and I might be reading scenes in this book and the last that would make me uncomfortable and let me tell you, this book made me uncomfortable. Much more so than the last book. Savage let's loose his monster a lot more in this book and the only reason I was ok with it was because Seychelle is all in, it's completely consensual between them and Savage really does love her.
I wasn't sure I was going to like this series when I first started reading it, but this is the 7th book and I'm looking forward to see who find's their mate next.

I was thrown by this book as it started, it had the same couple as the last book and typically each book is a new couple. This one got old fast and I found myself rolling my eyes so many times. I hated how Seychelle was steam rolled over so many times, that basically the answer to issues that she brought up with Savage were, it's the club, it's none of your business, it's the way it it. She deserved better, especially as the club was wiling to use her talents and keep her in the dark about it. Then there was the whole BDSM side of things. I tend to read quite a few of those books, but this one was a bit much for me, more SM than anything. I was glad that Seychelle was able to help Savage deal with his darker side, but man, he needed to explain things to her better. Their whole communication system was broken and it took a lot for them to figure things out.
I found I was more interested in what the club found out about the other clubs, but that was such a small part of the story, which is really too bad.

I truly Love this couple. The amazing story Christine has written for them! The acceptance and trust they come to share is so beautifully written and the Torpedo Ink plotlines surrounding them and highlighting them is outstanding! They arrive at the couple they need to be, truly in love, by working through conflict and compromise, not only between them, but with Torpedo Ink. A story written in moments that bring the reader to tears at the raw truth, moments of laughter as self-discovery is made, the ah ha giddiness as the love and understanding Savage thought would never be his is right there in front of him. Savage is thrilled Seychelle has accepted and joins in his desires. That her way to find pleasure is perfect for him.

One thing we see in this book as Savage and Seychelle move further into each other’s world is the importance Savage places on her consent. How strong and smart she is. How she can read him and has come to know her boundaries. Seychelle realizes how much power she has during their pain to pleasure intimacy. She has the control, she’s the one who says when her pain threshold is reached and when Savage needs to stop. He trusts her to know, and she trusts him to listen. And Savage will do anything to keep his word to not humiliate her and to keep her from being hurt in any way outside the pain by his hands to bring her tears and pleasure. One change I think I saw was the pain pleasure desire he felt has become more intimate, more of a bond with her alone, than just the way he needs to find release.
But there is more to Savage’s world than his physical needs, there is his entire life with Torpedo Ink. One he keeps Seychelle blocked from and she feels a disconnect from him. He’d been afraid if she knew all he’s done, all he needs to do for his club, she would leave him. Until he has no choice but to share with her or lose her, He never thought it would, actually, make them stronger. I appreciate Savage, one of the most stoic and isolated members of TI, loved her so much, enough to show what he considered weakness (but I saw as strength) go seek counsel with those he held in esteem, to ask how to make her happy, to help make their relationship survive. There are two or more sub-threads with other Torpedo Ink characters (Alena and Soliel) that grabbed my heart with situations that compare and contrast this couple and strengthen their story path. As they navigate how they fit together, they and Torpedo Ink are facing dangerous threats... an enemy playing tricks with minds, new antagonists whispering, old antagonist posing threats. Old series plot arcs are sewn up, some grow and new series plotline arcs seeds are planted with edge of seat revelations and lots of Oh Wow!

Seychelle shines! She holds her ground and is determined to not be used, be placed second, or left in the dark! Her strength, her power of observation and intuition bring to light dangers Torpedo Ink might have missed or taken longer to discover because they assumed other things. She is truly gifted and gives freely to help others even when she isn’t happy with them. She will give all she can to Savage but will not lose who she is to do so, again showing she is absolutely the woman he needs, a woman to hold her ground and say when. I love how her observations, her openness and the communication they share opens his eyes to himself and to members of his club. That they do hide behind the “it’s club business” instead of taking a step to move into their new normal.

Torpedo Ink come from a world where they grew interdependent to survive, hid their actions, kept secrets amongst themselves. Trusted no one outside them. Seychelle needed a complete connection with Savage, to feel trusted enough for him to give her all of him, for him to consider her and share with her all parts of his life. This caused conflict between TI and her. They are all learning, they’ve never had role models on how to be in a relationship. I think Seychelle awakened some of them, including Czar. Seychelle surprises Savage by giving him the love he never thought he deserved. She accepts him and understands him even better than he does himself. She sees the monster but knows he’s a part of him and understands the reason he is there. She accepts all parts of him love her and she can love all of him.

While Seychelle shines, I love how much Savage grows, at times not realizing, until he catches himself stepping out of his comfort box and mutters “what the hell am I doing?” Caring for her, easing discomfort, when before residual pain outside their home would have thrilled him. To moments when He realizes he’s laughing and appreciating other people around him, laughing at practical jokes and stepping further out of his world into Seychelles, things that matter to her start to matter to him. He learns to step away from club business he really doesn’t have to do, to go and be happy with his woman. He even realizes letting someone know you appreciate them is the right thing to do. And it truly touched my heart to see him finding happiness, love and the hope for tomorrow with Seychelle. He continues to show her how much he loves her in small and great ways. He is her strength, her control, and she is his light and laughter.

I appreciate Savage, one of the most stoic and isolated members of TI, loved her so much, enough to show what he considered weakness (but I saw as strength) go seek counsel with those he held in esteem, to ask how to make her happy, to help make their relationship survive. There are two or more sub-threads with other Torpedo Ink characters (Alena and Soliel) that grabbed my heart with situations that compare and contrast this couple and strengthen their story path. As they navigate how they fit together, they and Torpedo Ink are facing dangerous threats... an enemy playing tricks with minds, new antagonists whispering, old antagonist posing threats. Old series plot arcs are sewn up, some grow and new series plotline arcs seeds are planted with edge of seat revelations and lots of Oh Wow!

Seychelle shines! She holds her ground and is determined to not be used, be placed second, or left in the dark! Her strength, her power of observation and intuition bring to light dangers Torpedo Ink might have missed or taken longer to discover because they assumed other things. She is truly gifted and gives freely to help others even when she isn’t happy with them. She will give all she can to Savage but will not lose who she is to do so, again showing she is absolutely the woman he needs, a woman to hold her ground and say when. I love how her observations, her openness and the communication they share opens his eyes to himself and to members of his club. That they do hide behind the “it’s club business” instead of taking a step to move into their new normal.

Torpedo Ink come from a world where they grew interdependent to survive, hid their actions, kept secrets amongst themselves. Trusted no one outside them. Seychelle needed a complete connection with Savage, to feel trusted enough for him to give her all of him, for him to consider her and share with her all parts of his life. This caused conflict between TI and her. They are all learning, they’ve never had role models on how to be in a relationship. I think Seychelle awakened some of them, including Czar. Seychelle surprises Savage by giving him the love he never thought he deserved. She accepts him and understands him even better than he does himself. She sees the monster but knows he’s a part of him and understands the reason he is there. She accepts all parts of him love her and she can love all of him.

While Seychelle shines, I love how much Savage grows, at times not realizing, until he catches himself stepping out of his comfort box and mutters “what the hell am I doing?” Caring for her, easing discomfort, when before residual pain outside their home would have thrilled him. To moments when He realizes he’s laughing and appreciating other people around him, laughing at practical jokes and stepping further out of his world into Seychelles, things that matter to her start to matter to him. He learns to step away from club business he really doesn’t have to do, to go and be happy with his woman. He even realizes letting someone know you appreciate them is the right thing to do. And it truly touched my heart to see him finding happiness, love and the hope for tomorrow with Seychelle. He continues to show her how much he loves her in small and great ways. He is her strength, her control, and she is his light and laughter.

Savage Road is the second and final book in Seychelle and Savage’s story. It took two books (Annihilation and Savage Road) to show the intense and complex story of Savin “Savage” Pajarin’s deeply wounded life.
It took a very unique woman to take on such a damaged man as Savage and Seychelle proved up to the task. While both possessed unique psychic abilities, their relationship was an exercise in trust building.
Because of Savage’s childhood experience, his proclivity is as a sexual sadist and Seychelle is in full consent and although tastefully done, the exploration of mixing pleasure and pain, graphic description of past torture, violence, abuse and rape of children and women could be triggering for some readers.
While the main emphasis of the story revolved around the main couple, the TI club is facing its own conflict with rival motorcycle clubs. The history of the Torpedo Ink members reiterated how these survivors of horrific childhood abuse are left horribly traumatized but managed to create a bond of survivors who created a familial community as they try to take a chance to love and trust as adults.

Rarely in this genre do we get a book that is about making a commitment work after the ILY and the fade to black HEA is supposed to happen.
Seychelle stands up for herself and calls out the club and I was totally there for that. Savage works really hard to be a good partner and listen and learn and find solutions. I was not there for some of the punishments she "earned". I'm good with domestic discipline in a relationship, but I think it has to be fair and balanced and many times it felt capricious and undeserved here, but I didn't feel like Seychelle had no voice or was coerced so I let them have their relationship and tried not to judge. ;)
I came the closest to hating Czar in this book than I thought it would be possible and that wasn't a bad thing. He is human and he is solely focused on keeping his family alive and to him, everyone else - everyone - is fair game in how he does that. It's not right but it's also not... wrong for him. It was important that Savage grow and make independent decisions. He didn't always do that and his communication skills suck (as expected) and created more problems but again, I felt that was in character as he learned to share a life together.
I didn't really get the whole "I am a monster and have to whip you" part. He hadn't ever whipped anyone like that before to get over his "cycle" (which I could NOT get passed being some kind of code for alphahole male PMS on steroids when he used that term) so why did he HAVE to do it that time with Seychelle? *Please note I'm writing the same review for Annihilation Road and Savage Road (books 6 and 7 in the Torpedo Ink series) based on the author's letter to readers in the front of each book explaining the relationship between the two books. As noted in that explanation, due to some of the dark subject matter, readers may read book 6 without reading book 7 given the dark elements in the later book. However, it is essentially two parts to one story arch, so I'm considering them together.
Christine Feehan is an author whose books I love to hate. I read one, hate it, but immediately read the next one. It takes guilty pleasure to a new level - high or low is debatable. I read absolutely everything. I am not embarrassed by any of it. Yet, I wouldn't want anyone I know to read these. These insane plots, written poorly, but with surprisingly complex characterization are so ridiculous and over-the-top that I can't look away. I absolutely hated book 6 by the 20% mark, but I finished it and immediately read book 7. I don't even want to know what's wrong with me, but considering it doesn't even come close to comparing to the pathology of Savage and Seychelle (the main characters), I'm all good. I'm not going to pick this apart piece by piece, because it's just too hard to explain crazy. If you think you might want to try out these books, read the author's letter and review the multiple pages of crisis help groups concerning everything from child sexual abuse/trafficking to spousal abuse to suicide listed in the back. Savage Road is the second story in the duet of Savage and Seychelle’s romance, and I have mixed feelings about it. Half of the book I liked and the other half I did not. Let’s begin with the good part and why I liked it. I felt the second half of the book truly was the heart of the story that dealt with the relationship between the two main characters, the growing tensions between rival clubs, and the side stories that involved other members of Torpedo Ink. It flowed well, engrosses the reader and told the evolving relationship of Savage and Seychelle. There are favorite characters from Sea Haven that are involved in this story and it’s good to see them make an appearance in these stories. You also can feel the tension building before the big run and throughout the weekend when the president of Torpedo Inc insisted that Seychelle come with them. That tension climaxed at the campsite for Savage and Seychelle, and you see a strong woman stand up for herself with resolve.
As for why I didn’t care for Savage Road, it all began in the first book. The first in this duo, Annihilation Road, ended on a ‘to be continued, there’s more’ and the reader is still confronted with an unsettled situation in the first half of Savage Road. Seychelle hasn’t come to terms with her desire of pleasure with pain, and Savage was too busy being controlling, high-handed and domineering. I understand he is a sexual sadist but I think the author went a little overboard with the sex and sadism. The first half of the book dragged on and less would have been more.
Overall, once it got towards the second half of the book, the story was interesting and had a few surprises along the way. The introduction of a new player ratchet up the number of problems for Torpedo Ink making them another target for elimination. The cast of characters is vast and it’s still anyone’s guess where the overarch of the series is still far from being over. I am committed in the series and look forward to more members getting their story told and wonder about the men and women she matches them with. Savage never thought there would be a woman who could love him, all of him, and it took a special kind with powers of her own, to match him in many ways. Savage Road is an edgier, gritty and sensual story that isn’t an easy read, yet is a very satisfying in the end.

I’m a huge Christine Feehan Fan!! I’ve been reading her books for 20 years. That being said I’m not a fan of Sexual Sadism. It’s just not my thing.
I really did enjoy the first book better than I did this one.
Savage and Seychelle both had to learn to trust each other. There was a lot of push and pull between them. He had to learn to put her first above all else.

Much darker than previous books in this series so BE WARNED!!

As much as I love Christine Feehan, this book was a bit too intense for me. We know Savage and his nature by now, and Feehan didn't pull her punches with his story. I know this story is going to mean a lot to some people. This book definitely isn't going to appeal to most people. The previous book, anniahlation road will be a better fit for most audiences.

Loved this one more than the first one. This book really gets into the nitty gritty details of being Savage and what being with him means. It also is a rollercoaster of emotion with Seychelle because of the club and how they treat her. Lines were drawn and at that point in the book I did not want to put it down. This one wrapped up all of the loose ends from the last book and actually made some of them so they can’t come back to the club. But they did discover a new enemy in this book which I’m really curious to see how it develops. I’m glad that this book and the last one were so good because I was starting to loose interest in this series. I guess I just needed the right characters.

This book is the second half of Savin “Savage” Pajari and Seychelle Dubois’s story; the first part is told in ANNIHILATION ROAD. Savin met Seychelle when she nearly sacrificed herself to save him being hit by a car while he was trying to protect a young child. Ever since this seemingly disparate couple met, they have been in an intense and often difficult relationship. Several missteps from Savage nearly broke them apart beyond repair. After months together, their connection grows while being under a lot outside pressure from other motorcycle clubs as well as known and unknown enemies.
Of all the Torpedo Ink MC family, Savage is perhaps the most damaged and that is saying something with this group. He is also the main assassin with an ability to draw pain and anger away from his brothers and sisters through psychic gifts. The torture and grooming Savage experienced the first twenty years of his life is beyond horrifying so that Savage’s bedroom proclivities are brutal, sadistic, and almost unrealistically demanding. For the first time in his life, Savage understands and feels love which is something he thought himself incapable of with women. They were there to be used and abused because of his deeply damaged, very dark soul. Seychelle changed much of that for him; however, Savage only feels pleasure by putting his woman in pain. He has made an art form of whips and all manner of BDSM paraphernalia.
Seychelle’s psychic gifts include a voice that soothes injured spirits and physically heals those with illness to her own detriment. She can also can see images in other people’s heads and since Savage has a lot of horrific ones, this presents a real problem for their relationship. Her attraction to Savage’s type of pain and pleasure training seems in opposition to her nature making Seychelle very uncomfortable. Savage and Seychelle must travel a difficult and treacherous road in order to have a lasting relationship of any kind. Savage knows what he needs is most likely more than Seychelle can tolerate, but losing her will be the end of him.
Ms. Feehan prefaces this book with warnings and an explanation why these two books explore what happens to young children who are sexually abused especially ones that are victims of trafficking and pedophiles. Many areas of this book are very dark and explicit so readers of the series may not want to go beyond the first book of Savage’s story. She has also stated anyone who does not want to read these two books will not miss out on any essential information for the Torpedo Ink series. For this reader, I think the story would have been better if Seychelle’s abilities were used to heal Savage’s mind and what he calls his internal monster. I understand the author’s stated goals; however, this story veers in to a territory that I am not sure serves the best interest of her readers.

This is the thrilling conclusion to Savin 'Savage' Pajari's and Sechelle's emotion gripping story! Their story began in Annihilation Road, since for the first time ever Christine Feehan needed two novels to tell one love story. And rightly so! Savage is such an intense and wounded character that I could not see a way to give him a happily ever after in one quick, easy romance novel. The role he plays for Torpedo Ink tied in with his history, angst, and needs are a confusing wealth of complication.
Throughout Annihilation Road, we see Savage and Seychelle learn each other and begin to realize their suitability and love for each other, but with everything each person is bringing into their relationship, they definitely needed a second story to figure out how all of their pieces fit together. Savage is still hiding so much about his past and role in Torpedo Ink and Seychelle still has a lot of realization and coming to grips with what she's gotten herself into.
I absolutely loved the tension between characters, Seychelle's challenge of Czar and the other Torpedo Ink members, and the continue sprinkling in of Alena's story and the conflict with Diamondbacks. That and the continuation of Seychelle's villain from Annihilation Road (there are two in this story, one is dealt with) all culminate in an enrapturing read that was an excellent deviation from my normal stressful life!

Good, but not as gripping as the other books in the series. Both these books are more about the sexual sadism and not about the attempts to stop human trafficking, child abuse, etc. You really could sort of pluck these two books out and read them as a stand alones because they don't really follow the plot arcs of the previous books. Likewise, if sexual sadism isn't something you want to read about, you could skip these two books and not miss anything.

Savage Road, is a continuation of the previous Annihilation Road.
This was definitely focused more on the chemistry Savage and Seychelle build and the struggles they have to go through. Not just external threats, but the demons they each carry and the club's opinions.
The external threat and rivalry in this one was such a good action-packed and mystery plotline.
There was no end to it but it grew into something larger and it threatens the club's life.
The club TBH in this one was such an asshole. Most of them were being so annoying, I get it but they were not my favourite in this one.
Savage and Secyelle relationship was tested to the core in this book.
There was so muh emotional hurt and I admire the dynamic they created to really fight for their love even if it felt like all else will fail.
I love how solid and badass Secyelle was. She stood her ground and voiced what she wanted, felt and needed.
Savage's journey was a roller coaster for someone who has to go through such trauma, accept his worth, and build a relationship with people outside of Torpedo Ink.

Savin Pajari (Savage) and Seychelle Dubois apparently get together in Annihilation Road, which is the precursor to this book. This is actually its own story, but events are referenced throughout this book that must have happened in the prior volume. Having started this one without knowledge of the prior book (as it hasn’t been published yet), was slightly off-putting, but not enough to take away from the experience of reading this story. This is an intense story and not for the faint-hearted.
Like all of the characters in Torpedo Ink, Savage was brutalized and abused as a child in Russia. Because of these experiences, Savage is a sexual sadist; however, if it is possible to be a loving sexual sadist, then Savage fits this bill. Ms. Feehan walks a fine line between allowing readers to understand Savage’s deeply-seated needs and why he is the way he is, and explaining it in such a way that readers unfamiliar with the practice can actually empathize with his needs. Seychelle is his perfect counterpart in that she doesn’t meekly accept her role, but fights to be understood as well, and in the process helps the entire Torpedo Ink family to accept her and give her a huge measure of respect. As in all of the books of the Torpedo Ink series, there is an element of the paranormal present within this book. Seychelle and Savage have a strong connection and can nearly read each other’s minds. In fact, Seychelle picks up images of actual events and thoughts directly from Savage’s mind several times throughout the book.
This story is somewhat different from the other books in this series, but it is compelling in its own way. The brotherhood and supportive ‘family’ atmosphere is present and serves as the foundation for everything else that occurs. Savage is accepted exactly as he is, even if many people would be unable to accept his sexual proclivities. There is a low-level tension present in this book that escalates as readers get deeper into the story. There is death and destruction as well, but all for a good cause. This is not a clear case of right versus wrong; Feehan helps readers accept that sometimes there is a grey area in the midst of some terrible evil. On the surface, the grey area may be wrong, but without the grey area, the evil would be much worse.
On the whole, this is an intense, yet thought-provoking book that may cause a few minds to open up about some things. Now this reader has to figure out how to get a copy of Annihilation Road, so this story will be complete!

Ms. Feehan walks a fine line between allowing readers to understand Savage’s deeply-seated needs and why he is the way he is, and explaining it in such a way that readers unfamiliar with the practice can actually empathize with his needs. Seychelle is his perfect counterpart in that she doesn’t meekly accept her role, but fights to be understood as well, and in the process helps the entire Torpedo Ink family to accept her and give her a huge measure of respect. As in all of the books of the Torpedo Ink series, there is an element of the paranormal present within this book. Seychelle and Savage have a strong connection and can nearly read each other’s minds. In fact, Seychelle picks up images of actual events and thoughts directly from Savage’s mind several times throughout the book.
This story is somewhat different from the other books in this series, but it is compelling in its own way. The brotherhood and supportive ‘family’ atmosphere is present and serves as the foundation for everything else that occurs. Savage is accepted exactly as he is, even if many people would be unable to accept his sexual proclivities. There is a low-level tension present in this book that escalates as readers get deeper into the story. There is death and destruction as well, but all for a good cause. This is not a clear case of right versus wrong; Feehan helps readers accept that sometimes there is a grey area in the midst of some terrible evil. On the surface, the grey area may be wrong, but without the grey area, the evil would be much worse.
On the whole, this is an intense, yet thought-provoking book that may cause a few minds to open up about some things. Now this reader has to figure out how to get a copy of Annihilation Road, so this story will be complete!

After reading the first part of Savage and Seychelle’s story in Annihilation Road, I really debated whether or not I wanted to read this optional continuation of their story. I appreciated that the author split the books into two and gave readers and option about how much more of the problematicness they wanted to read. Based on how I felt about the romance in Annhiliation Road, I wasn’t excited to check this out, but just for the fact that I’ve read every single book published by this author, I decided to give it a try, especially since it seemed like some of the problematic issues in AR were going to be addressed here.
As the author says, this would be an incredibly difficult read emotionally for anyone, but I would recommend caution if you may be at all possibly triggered by child abuse, sexual abuse, issues around autonomy and consent in sex, emotional blackmail etc etc. The author does not at all oversell the need for caution in approaching this. I feel like indeed a similar warning could have gone out with the first book which honestly isn’t much less brutal than this on- if anything, I thought this was a little more sympathetic because in this one, you see Savage’s sensitivity and him putting in the work for Seychelle, and this definitely does a much better job expanding on a safer S&M practice than the previous book which was highly problematic.
The premise of this book is that Savage and Seychelle are in a relationship that has major problems because of the unequal emotional investment in openness and vulnerability they’re putting in. Furthermore, Savage’s club and his commitment to their causes over Seychelle’s emotional needs and the club member’s doubts cast doubts over the future of their relationship. When danger surrounds Seychelle over her psychic ability, and suddenly a hit is put out on multiple Torpedo Ink members, things come to a head and Savage and Seychelle have to enter the fight of their lives for their relationship.
With this book, much like with AR, I think there persisted this to me, problematic idea that Seychelle was constantly being punished for the anger issues and ill-adjusted emotions of the Torpedo Ink club. It is just as well that she is also into the S&M kink but even then, she’s not into it to the extent that Savage is, and yet he feels a lot of entitlement over her body and over convincing her that she is. I don’t think this book really addressed or overcame the fact that Seychelle and Savage’s relationship is problematic, not at all because of their kink, but because of the fact that the kink and the enactment of it is therapy for one partner but based on the punishment of another’s body in a way that isn’t dependent on anything but the suffering of that other person’s body. That said, I think this book addressed better how the relationship couldn’t only be about Savage’s needs but that Seychelle also had to have a voice and be empowered in this relationship. I was happy to see Savage walking back some of his edicts from the first book about no safe words or no changing minds about consent. That was beyond problematic. I was also happy to stop seeing a Torpedo Ink main character own up to their BS and stop making excuses for being a 💩 partner and just actually do better.
I can’t say I particularly liked either book but I definitely found Savage Road to be the better book, the more romantic one, the more real and actually less problematic one. It’s about a relationship in jeopardy and healing that doesn’t necessarily look like what we want healing to look like but is no less healing because of the effort and the equal emotional investment of partners in the relationship.

too rough for me
I have to admit I bought this book only hoping for redemption of this couple. I don’t like the sadistic love stories and I don’t like that Feehan as well as other romance writers have started branching into this genre and getting worse every new book. When the storyline branches into Torpedo Ink business, it is fine. But the darker and darker the series is getting makes me not want to read any more of it. It’s really too bad as the MC part and the rescuing angels with dirty faces theme is a good one. This is not the author’s only series where she ventures into the darker kink. This male lead is selfish, manipulative, and sadistic. More selfish and manipulative than the ones before in the series. Not for me.

Savage road is a continuation of Annihilation Road with Savage and Seychelle starting in it. Full disclosure, I read this book before Annihilation Road, and I don't recommend reading these two books out of order. The first few chapters I felt like I was missing some key important events. It felt as if I was dropped into the middle of a play and missed the entire first act. This is because I didn't read the prior book first. This should not be read as a standalone. Ms. Feehan does a great job of short recaps to bring the reader up to speed, but it isn't the same.

Sigh..I don't even know how to beging
I don't even know how to start, I've read both books 6 and 7 but I'm just going to write about the last one, althought I think of this as one story divided in 2 books.
This series from the beginning seemed to me that it promised a lot, I have always liked Christine Feehan's books but lately her way of writing has changed for the worse in my opinion, good ideas but poor execution. All the same but with different characters, and not only with this series in particular, her dark series, her ghostwalker, shadow rider..it's all the SAME.
This story confused me, I had to skip many pages, confusing scenes, and it's not what she's writting about, cause I have read similar books, it's just poorly written. I forced myself to finish it just so I could get to the end.
I imagine that she will write a book for each of the members of the club but I'm done, I do not think I will continue torturing myself, honestly. I have lost any hope that it would get better as it progressed, a shame.

I didn't like this book or the first part of their story. I honestly felt like they should break up and were not a good match. These books were hundreds of pages of repetitive dialogue with her constantly talking about being 100% committed and then her actions constantly negating that. She started off seeming to be a strong, compassionate woman but then proceeded to do things that made her seem unintelligent and selfish. And he came off as being very one-note. By the end of 2 books, all the issues they had from the beginning were still there.

Anya and Reaper, the remix. Seychelles wants to be first before the club just like Anya. Another Absinthe finding out if she's telling the truth scene, just like Anya. Not even trying to be original anymore. And there's nothing romantic about the scene where she said yellow and should have been screaming red, crimson, scarlet, burgundy, and every other shade of red imaginable. Thanks to the universe for libraries because free ninety-nine is what this is worth, to me.

This is the second part of Savage's story.
In this book, the reader was able to feel Seychelle's emotional struggle to connect with Savage. Savage's nature is to protect those he loves and in doing that, he doesn't always feel the need to share information with others. Seychelle’s need to know outweighs her love for Savage, and that point is proven when against her wishes, Savage leaves when Czar calls him out on Ink business.
This book shows both Savage's and Seychelle's growth as individuals and as a couple.
I have to say, this is the one of the best books in the series.

This is the seventh book in the series, and I would highly recommend that you read them in order – you absolutely have to have read ANNIHILATION ROAD though, as it is the first half of this story.
Savin and Seychelle are newly together, and trying to navigate the complicated future that is ahead of them. Savin holds all the knowledge, although the link between them means that Seychelle sees more than he wishes. He spends much of the book trying to understand how she can possibly want to be with him. It is an amazing balance of love, need and pain. Christine Feehan has an amazing skill for just taking the reader right to the edge of the cliff, tension bleeding into every move. Exciting, exhausting, and completely unputdownable from the very beginning.
I can't really say more, as you need to read it and experience it yourself – not easy, but utterly fascinating.

Savage, and Seychelle's story continues in Savage Road, While Seychelle continues her journey of accepting her, as well as Savage's sexual proclivities, she realizes that her emotional needs aren't being met by Savage. Seychelle's a healer of mind and body as well as a nurturer. Savage holds back from showing Seychelle who he really is, what his role is as a T.I. member.as well as his childhood. Savage fall back on telling her it's "Club Business". What follows are great conversation between this couple, as they navigate living together and you hope there will be better understanding between the two. Unfortunately, when Savage doesn't want to answer Seychelle's questions he falls back to saying, "It's Club Business," Seychelle begins to feel used by Savage as well as Torpedo Ink that treat her as an outsider.
Savage brings Seychelle on "The Run" with Torpedo Ink. Savage needs her there, and Czar demands her present to utilize her psychic gifts, but they refuse to explain the situation to her. What happens next is conflict between Seychelle and several members of T.I. and their beliefs that Seychelle isn't what Savage needs. Seychelle stands her ground, calls them out on their hypocrisy. She sets them straight on several matters.as well as their lack of social skills that made me smile. Seychelle gets them to think about their relationship with their women or future women or men. Are they truly part of the club or outsiders? Who comes first the wives or the club? How can you demand trust when none is given? What follows is revelation for the members of T.I. and their behavior toward others, and what they need to do as a whole to correct this.
New threats are revealed, directed at Czar from the past, The Diamondbacks continue their attempted manipulation of Torpedo Ink. More information regarding the "Ghosts" is revealed. and what their endgame is. The drama between Alena, and Pierce continues until Destroyer steps in. Great scene.
Savage Road was a beautifully written story and the subject matter of Savage as a sexual sadist was handle in a tasteful way, that has you cheering this couple on as they progress and find balance to their HEA.
