New York Times bestselling author Bobbi Smith spins a compelling story of the forbidden love between a proud Indian warrior and the woman he cannot forget—or resist.

For years Silver Wolf had fought against the white blood that flowed through his veins. He was an Indian warrior who would protect his people at all costs. Yet resisting the desire he felt for Cari McCord was a battle he would never win. He had saved Cari from certain death in a blinding blizzard one night. Her beauty mesmerized him and her passion left him yearning for more...

But she shared the same beliefs and customs of the men who had brought so much misery to his tribe. She was one of them. How could he ever trust her with his heart and soul? But the more he denies his love for Cari, the more he is drawn to her as he surrenders to a temptation that could set him free—or devastate him forever...

This story REALLY pulled me in!

I LOVE Native romances. They are one of my favorites to read, and while this is the first book by Bobbi I've read, I know it won't be my last.

Make no mistake, this is not a "froo froo everything-is-all-rainbows-and-sunshine" romance. True to form, it's graphic, parts are dark and prejudice is a prevalent theme, as was common in the setting's time period.

That being said, the love of Cari and Silver Wolf did manage to shine brightly. They certainly had many obstacles to overcome, both physical and within themselves, and I REALLY loved reading their journey to each other.

This book is written in a way I had never read before, where the third-person point of view shifts to every single character introduced, no matter how minor. In other words, the story is told from the eyes of numerous people, which had lots of pages spent on finishing the thoughts of those characters instead of maybe focusing on Caril and/or Silver Wolf. I liked reading when they were together, and there wasn't a whole lot of that in this story.

But, what of the book was spent on them, I really enjoyed. Their path to each other certainly was not easy, and these two truly deserved the Happily Ever After they received!

Self-warning for myself in case I'm considering reading this in the future: romance between hero and OTHER woman is detailed in this book, which makes it a big NO for me. Hero and heroine must be totally devoted to one another, and I won't accept anything less!

Six stars!

I have only recently discovered this author and while I have read 12-15 of her books, this one is hands down my favorite.

Another wonderful story by Bobbi Smith! My heart grieves because of the hatefulness towards Native Americans and “half breeds!!! Reading this story you will know the injustices, prejudice, heartache, cruelty but also the strength of love! I enjoyed this story immensely which didn’t surprise me because author Bobbi Smith is a very talented woman! You’ll fall in love with Silver Wolf and Cari!
HAPPY READING 😊

Ok read. I have read better stories by this author. I found the story did not hold my interest as it should. I love American Native type romance. It makes you feel for these people and how they must have felt. The discrimination etc still exists today.

I had read this book out of curiosity. I liked the story because of the romance between Silver Wolf and Cari. I thought the novel was slow at time. It was okay but not a favorite.

A fantastic novel! Made me want to read more books by Bobbi Smith. An older boy meets a younger girl and they become friends. Parents don't always understand, especially when the children are of different cultures and races. There was a time in our history when Indians were considered savages. People seem to forget what the Americans did to the Indians. Everyone should be allowed to better their standing. A society cannot move forward with hate and jealously. Silver Wolf (Daniel) and Jenny McCord were innocent victims of society. Luckly, they both were strong characters able to overcome.

This was an okay read. I must admit I preferred the romance between Ben and Star Blossom over the h/h. I wish the author would have focussed on the secondary couple instead.
