Dark, real and relatable. This is truly a “slice” (excuse the pun) of art. Looking forward to the rest of Life of Pies.

It's a new story, and I love them all.

I've been in the South long enough to see the sweetness and the bittersweetness myself, and I believe I'm a better person for it. So this story is for my love for my family, my home, and my country as much as it's for my disgust toward pies (except pumpkin!) 🎃

I have a hard time reviewing a book that comes in chapter form because it is a very small part of a story you get to read. This is a good beginning but I don't understand where the story is going so this is all I can say about it. I received a free copy from the author. This is my voluntary opinion.

Wow---a short story that leaves you with more questions than ever at the end!! I enjoyed how the author described everything in this story--it makes you want to read more!!

I received this story from the author with no requirement to leave a good review. These thoughts and observations are all my own.

Matthias is going home for the first time in a dozen years. He is home just long enough for his mama to feed him and give him a check for more than $600.000 when over dessert, she drops to the floor and dies. This entire story is about family drama and ends in a cliffhanger. Highly recommended.
