My thoughts: First, I liked that it was a short read, less than 100 pages. I was intrigued by the beginning; Eva desired Danny Santos’s blood but he trusted her completely not to drink him dry lol. Danny was no supernatural being, just a regular human boy. We quickly meet Six, the ancient vampire hunter, who broke into Eva’s apartment to find her. There was a point in time where Eva got kidnapped and stuffed in a trunk. When she got pulled out, she stated that she wanted to bathe in her kidnapper’s blood and I laughed hysterically🤣
Like I mentioned before, I was hooked from the beginning and kept reading until I finished the book. I enjoyed it enough that I was disappointed that it ended so soon. One of the reasons why I gave it four stars and not five was because I felt like there were a lot of unknowns to their world and why things were the way that they were. I just wish they would’ve been a little bit more world building. I’d definitely be interested in reading the series. What an incredibly short read! I almost want her to mix the next book in with the first to create more depth to Eva’s story. The urgency in the beginning to get Eva away from some unknown threat had me intrigued!
I felt as though there was the main question, “What is Eva”, however we were given three possible answers. She’s turning human, or part human, but also a weapon of some type? There’s a definite cliffhanger, but I would have liked a little more clarity or for it to be known that what’s going on with Eva is unknown.
The beginning was tough, I would have liked a little more background on Danny. The character development was a little slow. There was one thing thrown in about both Danny and Eva essentially being wards, but that wasn’t expanded on. I think that would be huge for their development.
Overall I was happy towards the end once we met Zeyphr/juniper, I really felt that the storyline was coming together once she was introduced. I look forward to the next in the series!

This is such a high paced, high action novella and it really does a great job at keeping the story moving. I wish the beginning was a little smoother (e.i. more of a focus on who Eva and Danny are and what their world looks like) but we learn as we read on, which is good, but would definitely prefer it earlier on.
Once the story picked up I couldn't put it down, I was very invested in the characters and the plot. Eva's personality was crafted very well and gave me someone to root for. The twists and turns of the story kept me on my toes and made this such a fun read for me. Really well done!

Wow! Just ... wow! Hooked and reeled in completely! I absolutely cannot wait until the next book in this series is released! I read this whole book in one sitting. Granted, it was a short one .. only thirteen chapters, but it was long enough to get me completely engrossed and hooked on these characters. This is the short story that introduces her readers to her new The Vampire Hunter Chronicle Series and it blew my mind. I am already fiending to know what comes next! Plenty of action from the very first chapter. I was never bored or lost interest. I fully recommend this one to everyone. Just be prepared to wait for the next book to release. It is very well written and will hook you right away.

So even though this was a Novella, I thoroughly enjoyed this. The characters so easily get under your skin.
Interesting story, vampires, vampire hunters, witches and werewolves, all key words for me, was hoping for it to be an enjoyable read, and the author did not disappoint!
I can't wait to read more about their adventures …
This was a nice snack! Felt like I read the introduction to a new and exciting series! The characters are well developed but there is still mystery to them. You want to learn more about them and how is the human going to survive …. Yes, vampires, werewolves , and another race that I want more details . When I turned the last page of this novella….. I was disappointed…. I want more! I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily!
This novella was an excellent bite-sized introduction to the series. We meet Eva, a 17-year-old vampire living in a world where humans and supernaturals co-exist. But Eva is not like other vampires and people have taken notice.
This novella drew me in from the start. It was a fast-paced read with a diverse supernatural cast of characters. I enjoyed learning a bit of the back stories of the characters and hope to learn more in subsequent books. This takes you on a wild ride and leaves you wanting more!
Overall, this is a very enjoyable read, and I look forward to reading more in this series!

Very entertaining with a little action and romance packed in. It was a lot to pack in in such a short book however. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I enjoyed this novella. It was fast-paced and exciting. As I was reading the story gave me “night huntress” vibes except the MC and vampire hunter aren’t romantically involved.
My main drawback is I found myself wanting more. More of the characters and more backstory describing the magic system. Specifically, Riley has an interesting take on vampire hunters which I’m looking forward to learning more about.
Overall, this was a solid start to the series and I’m looking forward to what comes next.

What is Eva? Whatever she is, everyone wants her and they aren’t shy about it. She is trying to protect Danny by keeping their relationship in the friend zone but that’s no longer possible. People are after her and bodies are falling everywhere.
Wow! What a great series starter for a paranormal action series! There is magic, drama, and plenty of danger. My main complaint is the cliffhanger ending. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
What an action packed novella! It starts with a teen named Eva that is not human but vampire sensing she is being watched. As the book goes on she falls into the hands of some unknown powerful people she does not know anything about. It is a fast paced wild ride that is mysterious as to what is going on and why. I enjoyed this novella.
I have mixed feelings about this one. It's a chase scene novella for a world where you have all your typical paranormal types. There's been a war, humans know that they're not the only ones out there. There's some type of authority in charge of teenagers (I'm assuming they lost their families in this war?) Eva is one of these teens, she is a vampire and more (that "and more" being the real crux of the story.)
I felt like I jumped into the middle of a series. I don't understand why half of what's going on here is happening. The author needs to work on world building. On the other hand the characters are interesting and the cover art is great.
