With a college backdrop and a friends-to-lovers theme, I assumed this book and I would get along fabulously. Unfortunately, we didn't.
The story follows nerdy college freshman, Dustin, as he navigates his romantic feelings for his jock roommate, Jeff. The plot itself was fine, if a little underdeveloped, but I really struggled with the dialogue. I couldn't for the life of me imagine anyone speaking the way these guys spoke to one another and it really took me out of the story.
I've decided, after a handful of Devyn Morgan reads, that we simply aren't compatible in our author/reader relationship. I respect that all his books are nice and fluffy, short stories, each focusing on different fun MM tropes, but, so far, they just haven't worked for me.
Having said that, I have a few more of his stories sitting on my kindle and I'm not one to leave things unread, so I'm sure eventually I'll work my way through a few more of his books - particularly because they are short and easy reads that serve as really good palate cleansers.

I liked the plot but the book? Mmnnn
WHERE is the romamce?? Really, is not romance here. Is really difficult to feel a conection between the mcs, yes, one of them tell us that he's in love but he ONLY speaks about the physical attributes of his crush.

I was lucky enough to get this book in exchange for an honest review....
Jeff and Dustin are roommates, Jeff being a jock, and Dustin being a "nerd"... I really hate that term, he's a smart kid, there's nothin wrong with bein smart! Sidenote, the cover is hot, it's exactly what I pictured them looking like. Ok so...
Jeff takes Dustin to his very first gay club... Dustin meets some pretty interesting people while he's there, The Amazing Jamie, which was very cute and witty, I liked her/him. Secondly, he meets Tad, now... very random who he turned out to be and I caught myself bein like "whaaaaaat? Seriously?" Totally random and kind of unnecessary, although I kinda liked him too, how cute would it be if he got a story? :D
BUT, I didn't like that he seemed really into Dustin then by the end of the night he'd asked out Jeff...not cool dude...
However, through the whole story we get to see the feelings that Dustin has for Jeff, it wasn't until The Amazing Jamie gave Dustin some very sage advice which he thought over all the way home and finally got the guts to do something about the way he was feeling about his roommate and friend... The whole ending was just sweet... I love reading stories about people who by society standards "shouldn't be together", like nerds and jocks, billionaires and blue collars, student and teachers, your brothers best friend lol.... because at the end of the day, everyone just wants to be happy and when you can find someone who makes you that way... who cares what anybody else thinks..... Very cute read!

I really fell in love with this sweet short story! This is one of those feel-good books you read as a pick-me-up.
Dustin is a nerdy college freshman who happened to luck out in the roommate department. While he is a quiet nerdy, not out gay guy, his roommate Jeff is popular, athletic and openly gay. Dustin has had a longstanding crush on Jeff but knows he's out of his league.
On an unexpected night off, Jeff surprises Dustin with a trip to a gay club where Dustin learns a lot about who he really his and how he really feels. Both men have quite a few interesting experiences while at the club. I have to add that I loved this part - it was fun and entertaining but also where we really get to know Dustin better. I don't want to spoil any of that fun!

And sometimes you just have to take charge! :) I really enjoyed Dustin and Jeff, along with the great other characters we meet. I can't wait to read more from Devyn Moran!

This book was adorable.
Structurally, there are many things about this book that I generally don't care for. A little too convenient, a little too cliche, and a little too sweet. I overlooked the fact that the pov was a little wonky sometimes and the dialogue got a little cheesy here and there.
Maybe it was my mood, maybe I picked this up right when I needed something cute and uncomplicated. Maybe the author is a master at crafting simple innocence, winning me over by knowing how far to push the naivety without going over the edge of believeability. Overall, it was all just the right combination that somehow worked. I felt happy reading this book.

I thought it was a great story that pulled me in. I loved the characters and how the story went. I am looking forward to reading more of your books.

I actually listened to this via HOOPLA without having made the mistake of buying it.
The story itself is not terrible, but the author clearly needs to polish his storytelling more. The prose seems a bit stilted, the plot development seems unlikely (The first-timer meets a foreign prince?) and the dialogue just doesn't feel realistic.
A virginal closeted gay college sophomore gets taken to a gay bar in Boston by his openly gay senior-class roommate... who's a popular Frat Bro (because of all the great relationship advice he gives his straight bros?).
It does have the virtue of being short and is not overly pretentious.
The book is narrated by Kirk Hall. He's not as adept at narration as an average parent looking to send a child to sleep by reading to them. His stumbling, amateurish narration makes the story seem even less believable making this the audiobook equivalent of the refrigerator art of an earnest if somewhat untalented child.

Most of the book was just unnecessary and when it did get to the good parts I wanted and expected more from it. They both had feelings for each other but it didn't feel like they had amazing chemistry.

This is so poorly written that it makes me want to reread Fifty Shades instead of spending another minute on it. Thankfully I listened to the audiobook, and it only wasted an hour and a half of my time.

This was just bad, I started the audio and the narrator was just not good. So I switched to the ebook and it wasn’t just the narrator that was bad. I had hopes that it would be good when reading the description. Oh well, Luckily it was a short story so only wasted about 30 minutes of my time.

Most people nod to agree with someone -- these guys shake their heads to agree. A virgin who gets spit instead of lube for his first time, and no condom either. Those are only two of the things wrong with this that come to mind. Just a lot of nope here in a lot of ways.

**Grammar**
This book was unrealistic, almost a fantasy and in some scenes was similar to Shakespeare "Midsummer Night's Dream".
Dustin is a shy young man and is in love with his older roommate Jeff. The older man is a jock, out of the closet, has a lot of straight friends and plays all the sports one can think about. The poor Dustin doesnt know how to confess his feelings. When Jeff tells him that he wants to show him something, Dustin thinks that maybe is his lucky day and that the other man is gonna tell him that he likes him too, but he is wrong. Jeff takes him to a guy club. There Dustin meets a lot of ppl and some of them, one is also a real prince, flirt with him and want to hook up with him, but he refuses. In the maintime Jeff is doing we dont know what. When they meet again they are both watching the magician's show in one of the club's room. When the first part of the show ends Dustin goes near the magician and asks her(in reality she is a man) how she did these tricks. During their discussion Jamie, the magician, asks him why he is there and Dustin tells him about Jeff and his feelings for the man(yeah sure i would do the same with a straneger i just met -_-) and the older guy tells him that he needs to do something before someone else takes Jeff away. Jamie was right. When Jeff comes near Dustin and tells him about a prince asking him out on a date,the poor guy wants to cry and all the courage he had found to finally confess, disappears. They are back in the dorms and Jeff is taking a shower, but Dustin cant stop thinking about tomorrow and Jeff's date. He decides to stop him, sending a message to the prince faking to be Jeff and cancelling their date. When Jeff comes out of the shower he tells him what he did and Jeff cant understand why he did this, so Dustin kisses him.
To make this shorter, their feelings are mutual. Jeff thought that Dustin being so smart and good at school was out of his league, while Dusting thought the same about Jeff. Finally they are a couple and can be happy, and Dustin loses his V-card with the man he loves.
The book wasnt bad, but is rushed and too short. Sometimes i thought that it missed feelings and doesnt make sense the fact that Jeff has feelings for Dustin. Not bcs Dustin is ugly or things like that, but bcs Jeff leaves him alone in a gay bar where he could have found someone else to make out with or hook up. I would have never left the person I love alone is a wolf's den. The fact that the book is this short is the cause for which their relationship seems unrealistic and happening out of nowhere.
I think I will read more books from this author, but I really wish they will have a better plot.

Another case of fallen in love with your roommate . Jeff and Dustin are roommate, dustin is pretty much an from farm. Hasnt been in the city for long. Jeff has an suprise for him, his taking him to an gay club. And while there dustin meets pretty much interesting people. Give advice as well, while there he does realize he is so inlove with jeff and he must do somtjing about it and i think its time. another one of those comfort read.

Lusting over the older, well-built out and proud roommate - a shy freshmen's fairy tale romance
This very brief but decently written short story reads like a cross between a contemporary romance and a fairy tale. It's brief enough that the characters are straight forward, put in a mostly realistic setting, but includes several archetypal encounters and characters with a swift HEA. The sizzle is not scorching in detail but sweet in affect.

Short and sweet
This is a short and sweet story of two college guys both believing that they're out of the other's league. Some of the dialogue seemed a bit too scripted. But it's a good story.
