Tumulus

Rate this book
Young men are dying and everyone assumes they’re just casualties of London’s chemsex scene. Everyone, that is, but Anthony, who is determined to investigate. Tumulus by Christopher Adams is a chilling, queer play-noir set amongst the shadowy hills of Hampstead Heath.

3.5, rounded down.

An interesting experiment (Vault is an experimental theatre festival for new playwrights in London), that suffers a bit from an over reliance on direct address to the audience - and having only three actors enact over three dozen characters, which I would think a mite confusing. Nevertheless, the STORY it tells, apparently based on real incidents, is compelling, just not told in what I would consider its best format.
