From international bestselling author Sav R. Miller comes a gritty and steamy romance between a morally gray cybersecurity engineer and his best friend's younger sister.

Fiona Ivers has been in love with her brother’s best friend since she was a kid. He’s older and oblivious to her existence—which only makes her want him more. She’s always believed he was disinterested, until a charity gala pushes them together. There, she realizes maybe he pays more attention than he’s ever let on.

Broody, tattooed loner Boyd Kelly has a low tolerance for distractions, and has no issues letting those around him know. His best friend’s younger sister doesn’t seem to care, though.

Each time the high-strung redhead bats her doe eyes in his direction, Boyd gives in a little, secretly desperate for the affection she so clearly wishes to give him.

But opening up to love might be more dangerous than either of them knows.

“What are you thinking about?” he asks, pointing at me with the butt of his joint. “You’ve got that weird look on your face that says you’re about three seconds from launching yourself off the cliff of sanity. Do you need me to make you come again?”

I don’t know what happened! May be i have read so many mafia romance that i find more books repeat. I really like kieran story so i was waiting for this one. Boyd character is kind of like repetition same lines and same childhood assualt and even i find sex and spanking repetitive. I wasn’t into fiona much she upsets me. There are layers to her character which wasn’t much explored. I don’t know i wanted to DNF it.

sigh

This review took me a while to write because to be honest, I'm not ready to let go of the King's Trace series.

First, we fell in love with Elia in Sweet Surrender and then my all time favorite antihero, Kieran in Sweet Solitude. I thought I was prepared for Boyd and Fiona.

This is by far the angstiest of all the books, and since I'm a gigantic angst whore, I was in heaven. The emotion bled through the pages and ripped out my heart until I could actually feel it breaking along with the characters.

Fiona is by far my favorite heroine. I don't want to go into too much detail, because I'm a big believer in going in blind and learning about the characters as you read, but she is so real and relatable. She has flaws. She's not perfect. She's feisty as hell, has severe issues and the weight of the world on her shoulders. My soul ached when I read her POV chapters. The character growth she has is *chefs kiss.*

And then there's Boyd.

Boyd.

Fucking Boyd, y'all. I knew he was going to be incredible, but I wasn't ready for the way he absolutely wrecked me. He was the perfect mix of alpha asshole and broken/broody. And not the type of broken where issues are thrown in just to make a character. They were real issues he had been dealing with his entire life, and that he had to work to overcome.

I also need to commend the author on her handling of mental health issues in a real and sensitive way. Even things I have no personal experience with were written so well that I was able to experience it through the character.

The depth that not only the main characters, but also the side characters have, is what makes this book one of the best I've read. Lots of people can write pretty words on a page, but not many can weave beautiful, fully fleshed out stories that you become so immersed in you don't even feel like you're reading.

That's what this book is. It sinks in your brain and sticks with you forever.

My favorite type of love stories are the ones where the characters also learn to love themselves. This gave me that in spades.

The only spoiler I'll give is to prepare yourself for a major book hangover because Boyd and Fiona will work their way into your heart and they won't want to leave.

Does this series really have to be over?

Sweet Sacrifice, is the third and final book in the King's Trace Antiheroes series by Sav and I'm really sad to see it end. I've adored this series and these characters in their twisted and corrupted town of King's Trace.

This book is about Boyd and Fiona. Boyd is Fiona's brothers best friend. Fiona has lusted after Boyd for years, he's older and everything forbidden that she cannot have, until one day Boyd takes notice. The sexual tension between these two was fantastic and when they finally make their move.. it's explosive. I loved these two and their push and pull even if they broke my heart a couple times..

"𝚜𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚜 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚌𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚢 𝚢𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎 𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚎𝚍 𝚊𝚜 𝚊 𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚍, 𝚜𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚝 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚞𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚢, 𝚢𝚎𝚝 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚢 𝚘𝚏𝚏-𝚕𝚒𝚖𝚒𝚝𝚜 𝚋𝚎𝚌𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚒𝚝'𝚜 𝚗𝚘 𝚐𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞."

While this is a hot and sexy story it also deals with trauma and mental illnesses. Fiona suffers in silence of OCD while Boyd battles his demons on a daily basis. I love how Sav writes about these topics in a beautiful and realistic way. This book also had some very fantastic character development and the epilogue had me so emotional. Definitely check out this series if you haven't yet and I for one, am very excited for Sav's upcoming work!

My favorite of the three KTA series

Fiona and Boyd fit together so well, I love their characters. They’re so human. Being a dark romance and having morally gray MMCs, they can sometimes come off as putting on a front of being a “bad boy” that makes them cringe but not Boyd. I think that’s because from page 1, he was imperfect and he was troubled yet he knew it. Which made this book so much fun to read.

Honestly, reading about Fiona and her mother, how she knew she’d be the one having to take care of her mom because no one else would hits hard. The whole situation hit hard. So good and so sad.

I adored the bonus epilogue. It felt right. Things happen on their own time and I’m glad romance books are starting to be a bit more “real” about pregnancies and marriage etc. This also gave more info for Riley’s book which is Vipers & Virtuosos and now I NEED to reread that. Bless her, she deserves happiness.

When I stumbled upon Sav's work on TikTok, I had no idea what to expect and let me say, the first two books exceeded my expectations. I thought there was no way she could top Kieran's book, because let's be honest, he was my favorite.

She exceeded everything with Boyd and Fiona. Their story was written beautifully and you could feel the character's pain when they experienced trauma, loss, passion and love. I loved how the story unfolded, seeing previous events through another set of character's eyes. Sav really outdid herself with the beautiful ending to KTA. I hope to see more of these characters in Sav's future work.

Because that's what this is—a power play. As anger, hurt, and secrets crackle between us, this dance we're about to begin is a contest to see who breaks first. Who gives in.

It’s been weeks since I beta read this book and I still really don’t know what to say about it, or how to feel...

Fiona and Boyd were my two favourite supporting characters from Sweet Solitude and so when it was confirmed that they were getting their own book, I absolutely knew I would be obsessed.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Sav. R. Miller👏🏻Knows👏🏻How👏🏻To👏🏻Write👏🏻A👏🏻Storyline. The flow of her writing is exciting, engaging and at the end of every chapter I am left gasping for more. I don’t think I’ve ever read steam like what Sav writes and it makes me swoon for the men AND women she writes!!

I absolutely love the ‘brothers best friend’ trope and Boyd and Fiona made me feel all the feels. They were so much fire when they came together and the most exciting love story. They both battled with some hardcore demons and although there are some sensitive topics covered (Fiona’s OCD) they were written really well and were incredibly accurate.

I can’t recommend this series enough and I’m so upset that it has come to an end - I’m desperate for anything else that Sav will give us and she has 100% become a unicorn author for life!!

Boyd is here!! Finally!! And oh my gosh, he is absolutely everything I wanted and more! 😍

Fiona and Boyd are two beautifully broken and haunted individuals. Each dealing with their own issues and insecurities in their own way but when they come together, BOOM! They are explosive! 💥

The darkness and grittiness of this story is everything I love from Sav's incredible writing and boy did she out do herself with this one. 🖤

I freaking LOVE Fiona and Boyd! Their fight, their fire, their heat; perfection! 🔥 I'm totally girl crushing on Fiona because that girl is badass! Go grab your copy today and find out why!

Also, Sav! I'm going to need Kal now please!! 🥵

Fiona Ivers and Boyd Kelly couldn't be any more opposite, where Boyd is hard, ruthless, cold and brooding, Fiona is all pink, always looking for the best in someone, and having the biggest crush on her brothers best friend. But yet, while they couldn't be any more opposite, the way they complemented each other was something else.

I really really loved this book, I've said it once and I'll say it again, Sav. R Miller really knows how to write a damn book. The spice? Perfection. The plot? Amazing. The character development? Valid. Hotel? Trivago. If you want a book where the MMC dirty-talks, is possessive, obsessive, brooding, age-gap, brothers best friend, yet holds the biggest soft spot for his girl, then this is the one for you!!!

I went through a lot of emotions reading this book, and without giving too much away, it was heart wrenching but somehow Sav ties it altogether and makes it heart warming again. And while I will admit, the endings to all of her books are usually the same, it's different each time because I can never guess it, anytime I've come up with a theory to the ending of one of her books, she proves me wrong.

This is the third and final book in the Kings Trace series following Boyd and Fiona and please, as always, check the trigger warnings before going into any one of her books.

Happy reading x

Although I started this book months ago (&abandoned it while 70%in because it was just too boring), I managed to finally finish it so of course I have to talk about all the stuff that made me cringe:

Some spoilers coming right up

*ahem*

1. There’s this scene where Boyd eats the chocolate chip cookie Fiona brings even though he’s allergic and all because he ‘likes the pain’???? Like dude, are you alright up there? How is that a statement of badassery when thirty minutes later you go to the hospital to get your epi pen and write down as your emergency contact the same girl you were trying to ‘impress’??

2. I don’t know why this book is marketed as ‘forbidden brother best friend’s sister’ or whatnot when it’s not even a conflict point in the story. I think I would have been more lenient if the author just used this as a kink rather than a plotline. It just doesn’t make sense to be mentioned all the time when he sleeps in her house (she lives with her parents) and her dad finds out in the first 20% of the book while the brother clues in later and there’s no forbidding, threatening or anything. Where is the conflict? Do I need special lenses to see it?

3. Women being called ‘whore’ by the heroine. Sure, Fiona, your bff pointing out red flags in your relationship with your non-boyfriend boyfriend is her being a jealous whore. Your dad sleeping with his employee while you take care of your sick mother? Of course is the girl’s hoeness that is at fault.

4. The me-emo-dark-damaged-boy storyline was uninteresting to the point where I started skimming through Boyd's povs.

5. Okay so I’m bring up the ‘’’’’’sexy’’’’’ scenes and let me preface this by saying that they’re the only reason I picked this book up. I’m following the author on insta and she posts constantly a few lines from this book’s more steamy part and, ladies and gents, I was fooled. I actually first thought to myself ‘I’m on the look for a good mafia romance and this might be it’. Haha, me from the past, you silly goose.
These ‘super steamy’ lines I kept seeing are just that. The scenes go on forever but outside of a few sentences, they're so goddamn boring I had to check if I was reading the same book the author referenced. I was waiting for sauna levels of steam and I got just a lukewarm teacup’s worth.

Better than the last two.

Still only three stars, because it is repetitive. I’m getting a bit tired of the “is he too bad for me?” It makes no sense especially when your brother backs up dead bodies.

In addition, I am pretty angry with Boyd. What happened to Riley, I mean, everyone saw that coming? So I think he’s a piece of shit for the part he played in that, especially adding that he wasn’t the one who got to Romeo. What the hell were you doing then? Who exactly were you going after? Adding to that he left him with Fiona, knowing what he did.

Nope. Absolutely not.

I’m dropping it to two, because Kieran and Juliet were my favourite couple. He would never . . .

And yes I understand that there were unresolved issues and there’s a common thread running through this about the impact of parenting and the craving of a parent’s love or acknowledgement which I appreciate. But I’m still just unhappy with how things played out and I hope Riley gets a book. I’m invested in her future. She deserved so much better.

But I guess they all did.

Fiona has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Boyd, for years but he has never noticed until one day he does. From that moment on there is tension and chemistry between the two of them. They are each other’s forbidden fruits. Boyd is the older best friend of her brother and Fiona is the younger, pure, little sister. The chemistry between them was a spark waiting to ignite and when it does it is explosive.

I loved that his book was dark and full of steam, but also dealt with real life topics that many people experience and many people may even suffer in silence, too. It is all talked about it in a way that makes it real, relatable and just raw emotions.

I love that Fiona and Boyd aren’t the perfect characters. They are both flawed, they both have struggles, yet together they can slowly work them out together. They are perfect for each other. The growth of both of these characters throughout the story was fantastic and I truly fell in love with both of them.

If you’re looking for a dark, brother’s best friend romance this is one to read!

Boyd Kelly, oh how I love you. A fully tattooed, dominant man written by a woman? Say less. But on a serious note, I think Boyd and Fiona are truly my favorite couple that Sav has written this far. They learned to deal with their demons both as a couple and as two separate beings, which truly is such an important thing in a relationship. Both of them are messes but that’s exactly why they work so perfectly together. They understand and accept each other exactly how they are. There was never any indication that either of them wanted the other to change. They both just wanted to love and be loved, though they refused to admit it out of fear and self-loathing. I found myself relating a lot to Fiona. To her anxiety and fear of the unknown. To her unease with not being in control. And I really appreciate the way Sav handled Fiona’s mental illness. It meant a lot to me and I know the character of Fiona will stick with me for a long time. Now I just need to find my Boyd.

Rounded up from a 4.5! I loved the representation in this book - a MMC suffering from trauma/ a MFC struggling with OCD and them actually learning healthy coping mechanisms rather than all their issues suddenly disappearing when they got together was the icing on the cake! I love how therapy isn’t stigmatized throughout the book.

Where do I start?!??!!

Mah Heart! So much emotional and so much damn angst!!! Boyd is a broken ass Alpha of a man and only someone like Fi could touch something deep inside of him that's been beyond damaged, but not to be outdone is Fi with her own set of issues and deep seated damage. What happens when you put two broken people together? You light the match and watch it burn. What comes out at the end will tell you whether they sunk or swam.

I am not okay after this story. I love Boyd & Fi so much.

I have to say that this was a little bit of a disappointment. If this was not a book written by this author I would have DNFed.

Tropes:
- Brother's Best Friend
- Touch her and you die

🌶-3.5

The characters, 5/10. I honestly loved Boyd and Fiona in Vipers and Virtuosos--really felt a connection with them in those few pages. Yeah, I didn't feel a connection with them in their own book. I didn't like Fiona and Boyd, together and apart, until the last chapter. These two just didn't seem to go together the entire book, which is the first time that I've felt like that toward one of Miller's couples and I really hope it's the last.

I did love the little scenes with Kieran.

The plot, 2/10. I absolutely did not like this book. There was really no plot. Correction, there was a plot but most of it was the MMC and the MFC going back and forth if they should be together or not. There was a mystery that needed to be answered but it was mentioned at the beginning of the book and then it wasn't really addressed until the last ten chapters of the book. Honestly, this book was pretty depressing the entire time with Fiona's story (the book mostly being about her taking care of her mother and the family issues that came with that).

The pace, 4/10. I felt like the pace was alright for the book. I just feel like the plot was the week point here.

I am glad this is the last book in the series. I loved the second book but after the first book not being super great with me and then this one--I would have stopped with the series.

I knew Boyd was gonna be good, but I never expected this. Who would have thought that under all those smoking hot tattoos there would be a patient guy with a seriously sad past. This book completely blew me away! Kieran is still barely maintaining my favorite spot, but Boyd damn near took it. ⁣

And Fiona, gosh I click with her on so many levels. Fiery redhead with OCD and anxiety, barely holding it together. She amazed me! Being in her head was both scary and fascinating. ⁣

Way to break some people Sav... Truly an epic book! And the steam, whew 🥵 It'll melt your face off!⁣

BOYD KELLY IS HUSBAND MATERIAL!!
I was not aware of his game he’s so goddamn hawt
I loved his character so much it was so complex he was crazy but also he was open with emotions and was vulnerable with Fiona
Boyd learning about Fiona’s disorder and helping her with it he was the first one to know she has OCD
HE WAS THE ONE WHO SAW HER AND HOW SHE WAS HIDING he calms her down with orgasms and makes her be her crazy self! He’s got a spit kink that’s all I wanna say
I loved how just fell in love with her so easily and crazy obsessed with her
Him protecting Riley and their bond was so sweet
I hated their mom so much! Boyd’s childhood story made me so sad
He deserves so much love and I’m happy he got Fiona

Fiona my girl she was so relatable her anxiety her overthinking and how she couldn’t exist without being in control
Fiona I loved that girl and was happy that she found help and healed herself
The way she dumped Boyd wow it was so sad but also funny cause Boyd needed to be more truthful
But when I heard his story it was so heartbreaking
The way this story had me giggling the first half but wrecked my heart in the last few chapters like the angst was angsty

Kal Anderson special mention as always he helped everyone in the book ykw he helped everyone in the whole series he’s kinda carried the whole series for me
Yeah I’m biased but I love doctor death
The king’s truce was such a journey that i enjoyed so much I’ll definitely miss them

Also the epilogue was cute and hawt like Boyd and Fiona! Juliet and Kieran as parents was funny!
I loved this series so much really!

Sweet Sacrifice by Sav R. Miller is a dark mafia romance and book three in the King’s Trace Antiheroes series and features Boyd Kelly and Fiona Ivers. Fiona, an eighteen-year-old college student with obsessive-compulsive disorder, has been attracted to her brother’s best friend for years, but he hasn’t paid any attention to her until the night of a gala when tension and chemistry burn so bright it threatens to destroy them. Boyd Kelly is a tortured, broken man who has done a bunch of bad things. He works for Fiona’s dad and has secrets of his own. Fiona and Boyd start a secret relationship wanting to explore their attraction, but neither would realize that they would fall in love and the secrets they hold close to their heart would come out to torment them.

Oh. My. God. This book is exciting, entertaining, and captivating on so many levels. Boyd and Fiona are such relatable characters. Fiona silently suffers while her family lives their lives and the only one to truly see her is Boyd. The same goes for Boyd, he’s broken and Fiona attempts to fix him. These characters are so beautifully broken and when they come together, it’s chaotic and electric. They come to so many realizations because of their relationship. Sav’s multilayer development of her characters is one of my favorite things about this book. She has created characters with such depth. Boyd is by far my favorite alpha antihero!

Sweet Sacrifice is so well written and so many sensitive topics are discussed, but Sav handles them beautifully without casting a negative light. This speaks volumes about her writing. There were so many emotions in this book. I felt the character’s heartbreak, loss, love, anger, and betrayal.

Tremendous Ending For this Bingeable Series

Sweet Sacrifice Boyd Kelly and Fiona Ivers
"But that’s what happens when you deny yourself the things you want most in life—when given the chance, the longing comes back in full force, the taste of the forbidden, the broken, the irreparably damaged too great to repair"

This brothers best friend /age gap story just had me in all the feels. Because Boyd clearly fell first. Fiona may have had a crush , but Boyd a man who doesnt date or do feelings went head first . The steam was crazy , the chemistry is always palpable with this authors books . I may have started with her Monsters and Muses series but this ties everything together.
I loved meeting Riley and seeing her character shine and be happy , and Dr Death Kallum Anderson has yet another unforgettable role in this book.
Boyd was definitely added to my book boyfriend list and I will recommend this series again and again

Sav Miller ends this series amazingly with Sweet Sacrifice, a dark and powerful story about a couple who had a lot to overcome and chooses to be together to help each other slay their demons.

I loved how Sav wrote such flawed characters, showed them in their most vulnerable moments in which their rawest feelings arise and still made us connect deeply with them.
I could litetally feel Fiona's pain through Sav's words.
I also could not help falling for Boyd. His dominance, charm and sex appeal made me drool! Gosh, he's HOT!

When I thought everthing was said and done, the last 30% of the book made me hold my breath for a moment, something which was far from what I expected. So good!

Lovers of a great dark romance will sure enjoy this one. You might wanna check the trigger warning, though.

AWESOME RIDE!

“Boyd’s practically a god in his own right—tragically handsome, with honey blond hair he keeps slicked back with some kind of product, a jawline you could commit suicide on, and ink etched into every visible inch of his skin—maybe even the not visible parts.”

😭🔥😍🖤

Sav writes the best antiheroes. The best!!

Murder, anxiety, OCD, jealousy, death, angst, heartbreak, so much intensity, and yet somehow, this book felt so...calming. Sure, it may say something about me and who I am as a person. 🤣 But mostly, it speaks to this author’s writing—beautiful, poetic, fluid—and how well she builds a character and their story. They are so well rounded, you can’t help but find a piece of them, however big or small, that you relate to. And you can’t help but fall for them, flaws and all.

This was the perfect ending to a dark, sexy, and AMAZING series. You should be so fucking proud of yourself, Sav.

Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me to Beta and ARC read this story in exchange for an honest review. I’m still not sure how I got so lucky. 🖤🖤🖤

Sav is a goddess

I don't usually read a whole lot of dark romance, so I waited much longer than I should have to read this series...I am a fool lol. Sav's writing style is exactly the type that I love, & her first 3 books blew me away.

Boyd & Fiona pissed me off A LOT😂 I was ready to throw my phone across the room so many times while reading Sweet Sacrifice. I loved how Boyd was not at all how I expected him to be based off the previous books; he was a lot more loving (I'm not even sure if that's the word I'm looking for, but gentle most definitely is not, & it's the only other word that popped in my head😂) than I thought he'd be, but his love for Fiona mixed with his dominance during the sexy times was really a perfect blend. Fiona was amazing. The strength she had to get through the shit she was going through...it was a joy to watch her grow into herself & get a handle on her emotions...plus, I'm a sucker for a red-headed lady lol.

All in all, I definitely recommend. This is one of those series that I'll reread at least once a year for the foreseeable future.

Hello lovelies 🖤 had a vacation and just finished my first book on my TBR list and let me just say, WOW. This book! 😍

Sweet Sacrifice by @srmauthor
Trope: brother's best friend
4.5 ⭐
⚠️please note that this is a dark romance. It involves topics that may be triggering for some audiences. (Childhood abuse, SA)

Fiona, princess to one of the most powerful families in town, has to constantly be the face of perfection. Calm. Poised. Unshakeable. For years she has had an ungodly crush on her older brothers best friend, boyd. Though she never thought he noticed the stolen glances and nervousness that over took her whenever he was around, he finally did.

Though this book is full of all the hot scenes you love to indulge in, the author finds the perfect way to bring real life - relatable subjects into light. As a person that suffers heavily from Anxiety, I could relate really well to Fiona's character and struggles.

I love that Fiona and Boyd aren’t the perfect characters. They learn to love not only each other but themselves through some of the most heart wrenching moments. This is book that has it all: pain, drama, heat 🔥, love, perseverance and strength!

If you’re looking for a dark, brother’s best friend romance this is one to read!

🍪 - Important Notes:
I was given an ARC directly from the Author. Regardless of that information, my review will be 100% honest. Additionally, there's also not spoilers in this review and everything is just basic info.

👑 - Mini Review:
Where do I start? This book was amazing. This book was by far my favorite of the entire series. Boyd and Fiona caught my eye since "sweet surrender" and they did NOT disappoint.

I typically LOVE the "brothers best friend" trope and this book delived that trope on a silver platter. I also ate it all up and entirely loved it.

If you are looking for a book that has a bit of angst, great smut, a good plot line and a amazing couple then don't wait. This is your sign to read this book.

🐍 - Lengthy Review:
I gave this book a solid five stars and five chili peppers because this book was one of the best books I've read.

From the beginning to the end I was HOOKED and didn't want it to end. The bonus epilogue also was amazing to read. The last closing sentences also warmed my heart up so much.

With that being said, Sav really hasn't ever written a bad book and I mean it. Sav will remain my go to top authors forever. Especially since she's given me my top book boyfriends Kal, Alister and Boyd

Additionally, now that this series is finished here's my rankings on each book.

1. Sweet Sacrifice (Boyd & Fiona)
2. Sweet Solitude (Kieran & Juliet)
3. Sweet Surrender (Elia & Caroline)

📚 - Quick Sum Up:
