I had to stop and just skip to the end of the book to find out what happens. I love the plot, it’s really interesting and is what has kept me around for this long… but I just find it to be a bit poorly written, I’m sorry but I do. It’s a bit flat. The characters just don’t hold that spark for me. The communication feels a bit weak and not realistic… I haven’t found that spark for the guys that I normally would by now in a book. That one (and only) spice scene in this book was good! But I can’t say I’ve felt the tension or build up between them and timescale wise, it’s all actually happened really quickly. For a few weeks to be written over 2 books I’d expect more, there’s a lot of detail about what they’re up to, where they’re going, the food they’re eating etc but not much in terms of actual character development. I had high hopes, particularly for Adler and braydon but once they come into the story it’s like oh hey they’re here now and not much is said about them, there’s very little intimate and meaningful moments between Raven and them. I’d need more one on one time, more conversations, more feelings expressed/shown/felt. It kind of reads to me like- this happens, then this happens, then we do this, then we do that, then we have this, then this happens…. It’s not really very captivating for that reason. Anyway, could just be me, maybe I just don’t like this style of writing but I am disappointed because the concept of the story is really intriguing and unique.
