Crashing my car wasn’t on the agenda today…and finding my victim to be none other than the biggest, baddest, most desired bachelor here in the city, was undoubtedly not part of the plan.
And when Barret Louvis goes as far as offering a way to make up for all the damage I’ve caused today, I reluctantly—though willingly—accept…knowing it could be a bumpy road ahead.
The guy is double my age and without shame, I feel he already owns a piece of my heart—a piece I’ll never get back.
Because just one look from Barret and I’m left wishing for him to be my first…in everything, while hoping to be the last…for Daddy.

Most parents take pride in their children’s achievements. But, to some parents, their child’s achievement is claimed as a reflection of the parents’ genetic mix, the opportunities they provided and the quality of the parenting skills used to shape and nurture their high achieving progeny. Certainly, the parents of Masie Anne Davis, an intelligent, petite and curvy green-eyed beauty, accepted no shadows on their family’s name. So, her parents’ anticipation of Masie’s achievement of valedictorian was not perceived as child’s achievement, rather it was a validation of their parenthood and the seal of family excellence.
But being awarded college graduation honors is not the first time that the green-eyed beauty had been found worthy of valedictorian recognition. Masie’s accumulation of 4 years of superior grades, when calculated, had affirmed her as the valedictorian for high school graduation, but the momentary bad judgement of a teenager caused the honor to be withheld at the ceremony, denying her parents the public recognition of their family’s intellectual superiority.
Masie had joined a group of her senior peers for a party which had been concluded by a raid by the local police, arresting and jailing the partying potheads. And while Masie did not indulge in “party favors,” she was one of the jailed, and had to be bailed out, shamed, and shortly stripped of the honor that she had worked for 4 years to earn. It was certainly a night she, and unfortunately, her parents, would forever remember. Masie’s parents had been cheated of the honor and recognition that they deserved because of their foolish daughter’s unthoughtful actions. But now, finally, her parents were planning on a delayed recognition of their family’s superiority.
However, history is about to repeat itself. Days before graduation, while driving her graduation gift from her parents, 21-year-old Masie hits the gas pedal instead of the brakes, plowing her new car into the back of a Porsche, driven by one of the most beloved and admired professors on campus, the handsome 39-yr-old member of the English department, Dr. Barrett Louvis. And, Barrett’s name and fame reached beyond the college campus. The handsome professor was a wealthy man whom everyone knew. His family, famous for his grandfather’s oil company which had been founded just outside of the college town, established the family as members of the state’s elite, if not the elite of the nation.
So, while the beloved professor and the star senior had never met in the academic classroom, fate, a car crash and unknown shared experiences and origins are about to bring sweet, young, beautiful and studious Masie Davis and the handsome older professor into a negotiated deal that will send the victims of a car accident toward their unanticipated future.
B.L. Brooks once more offers the reader a tale of first love for a young woman who needs an older man to guide and protect her, and the older man who needs the gentle honesty of a young woman’s guilelessness to give him direction and purpose in life.

In this book we meet Maise Davis & Barret Louvis. When this book opens we find that Maise and Barret have just been in a car accident and Maise knows and admits it is all her fault. The one thing she hopes though is this won't impact her graduation from college. See Maise isn't just any girl she is smart, like 4.0 smart and she is the school valedictorian for this years class. The problem is Barret is also a temporary professor at the college and she just hit his car. Barret knows from the moment he sees Maise that he wants her. He is determined to make sure that before they both leave this college she will be his forever. Can these two find a HEA or will other influences make sure that never happens?
Another amazing hit from this author. So much I want to say about this book but don't want to ruin it for other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Last for Daddy has Masie face what she thinks she wants in life and what she can have if she is brave enough to take it. It all starts with an accident where Barret can no longer keep his distance from Masie. A devoted over achiever, Masie looks to please and prove how perfect she is. Unfortunately she is pleasing others, not herself. Barret shows her how it feels to be put first.
This one had me gasping as it looked like they might not find a way to make their relationship work. A satisfying read that I plan to read again.

Age Doesn’t Matter Masie Davies is beauty and brains all rolled into one. Barret Louvis has been a professor for a long time and has never before met a student he could not pass over, but when he sees Masie he swears he is going to make her his. Masie has concentrated all her time on her studies, but Barret all of sudden has her wanting other things in life. This is a captivating short steamy age-gap romance with an intriguing storyline. Did not put it down till I was finished, I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.
Marie and Barret met because she hit his car. Instead of charging her he decided she would just help.him out because he got hurt. They instantly fell for each other . She had some family drama and she was innocent when it came to men . He was her first and also her last . It was a great story I loved it .

I did enjoy this book was a sweet love story, The age gap had nothing to do with the love they felt for each other in the end. Maisie and Barret were perfect together, he saw how effect she was regarding her parents opinions and know how she felt. He was a great support and the chemistry was great. A good short read.

Maise (a student) crashes her car into Barret (a professor). We can tell there’s some attraction between the two. When her parents find out about it they aren’t particularly happy. But the couple seem to be glad that everything worked out well for them in the end. Surprised that there wasn’t any ex’s involved.
I read an ARC via the author and I'm voluntarily choosing to review it.
The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Barret and Masie and does not let go. Their lives will never be the same when she crashes her car into his.
