Nyssa Banlin is completely unaware of the darkness that surges through her veins.
A recent college grad, her focus is breaking away from her bizarre family and starting a new life far from Maine. Unfortunately, her parents have other plans. At their adamant insistence that she stays in her home state, Nyssa sees no other way to break free than to escape in the night.
She makes it as far as Illinois before being trapped in a magical barrier.
Rescued from peril by mysterious couple Zai and Shayne, Nyssa is introduced to a side of herself she never knew existed.
Fangs. Bloodlust. Abnormal strength and speed.
Her family kept the secret of her vampire lineage buried deep, and it doesn’t take long for Nyssa to figure out why. Her ability to exist unaffected in the sun is like no other.
Such a power has only been heard of once in an ancient prophecy. Now, with Zai and Shayne’s help, Nyssa must discover how she is connected to the mystical prophecy if she holds any hope of freeing herself from life as a vampire and claiming the life of peace and happiness she longs for.
What an incredible start. This exciting and engrossing read grabs you and drags you in hook, line and sinker from the very beginning. The world building is amazing and draws you in and the characters especially Nyssa are fantastic. Fast paced and action packed this is full of adventure, mystery, suspense and twists and turns that will keep you in the edge of your seat. The mythology the author has used about vampires is intriguing and I cannot wait to read more!
The Solar Vampire is an amazing addition to The Supernatural World. It is a story that contains action, suspense, and mysteries to be solved. The book grabs you from the first moment and you can't stop reading it until you finish it. It has twists that you don't see coming and leaves you with your mouth wide open. Nyssa is a person who is described in such a way that you can reflect on her when she begins to fulfill part of her great dream and at the same time when things do not start to go well. I loved how her character was developed and that she didn't let anyone get in the way of her finding an answer. The dynamic between Nyssa, Zai, and Shayne when they first met was fantastic and I can't wait to see how it continues to evolve in the following books. The mythology used about vampires fascinates me and how it takes a spectacular turn with Nyssa. I love it as this universe is going to expand and we are learning more about its history. And that ending just makes me want to have the next book right away. I can't wait to read it
Nyssa dreams of going to LA to become a well known arist. She loves to paint and enjoy the night. When offered a fellowship she wants to go but her family tells she can't go, but won't tell her why. She tries to get her community leader to give her permission to go, but he also tells her No. She attempts to go anyway but can't get past Ohio as she is thrown back from the crossing. She meets Zai and Shayne whom she discovers is a Fae and a dragon. They tell her she is vampire but she doesn't believe them. She goes back to Maine and confronts her brother Zamir. He tells her the truth and that she is a special vampire as she can be in the sun and see past peoples fake selves. Zai and Shayne tell Nyssa they are trying to fulfill a prophecy and that she is part of it. Can't wait for Book 2
The Solar Vampire was an amazing book. It drew me in quickly, especially the parts with Shayne and Zai. At first I didn't like the MC, Nyssa because she was an asshole to Shayne and Shayne is my girl. But over sometime I got to like her, when she stopped disliking Shayne and trying to pursue Zai. I'm hoping that the universal lycan actually likes Shayne from the beginning, because we need to cut Shayne some slack. Almost everyone hates her cause she's a royal dragon. Anyway this book was a great read, but I'm hoping for some more Zai and Shayne in this series.
This ended up not being for me. I like the concept, and the general premise is good, but I didn’t find it captivating. I think there were too many descriptions, and her frustration with her family started to feel repetitive. I think it came off as slow paced *for me*. It’s a really interesting concept for vampires, as well as other supernaturals and how they interact, though. Kudos for that! Just maybe not the right story for me personally.
Great start of series. The characters are interesting and relatable. I really like that the supernaturals are not your cookie cutter type. There are plenty of twists and the world building is fantastic. I look forward to the next book.
Wonderful start for a series. The characters and storyline are great. This supernatural story has suspense, mystery, twist and turns. It will keep you turning pages and wanting more. I really enjoyed this read and can’t wait for the next book.
Wow, I can't wait for the next book. Nyssa is A Solar Vampire with special powers. She is part of something that will blow her whole world out the water. Nothing in her life is at it seems.
Awesome book that features, suspense, action. It’s a great entrance to the supernatural world. The characters draw you in and keep you there, never wanting the story to end.
