2.25/5✨

•Arguably, the only scene that made me want to rate higher was smut related, mostly the submission offered by a dom.I love when a woman taps in her dominant energy..😈😈

•Other than that, with no hate towards the author, this was too predictable, like from a mile away.I was waiting for the book to evolve around the past and their traumas, but it only felt hurried and superficially written.

•Plus,it didn’t deliver any development for the chain of events/characters,leaving the plot line hanging in the air.🥱

•Nonetheless let’s say,I just had higher expectations..

Molly - firstly, how dare you? And secondly, bravo!

Dark Desires is the sequel to Dominant Desires and we pick up right where we left off.

I'll admit, I wasn't particularly fond of Jaxon in the first book and thought Sasha could do better, but boy oh boy does Jaxon make up for it in the sequel.

This book is a delicious combination of sweet and spicy, with heartwarming moments that will make your stomach flip, to spicy scenes that will make your jaw drop. This is some of the best spice I've read!

But it's not all sex and champagne and sports cars. This book really shows how vulnerable Jaxon and Sasha both are, and how their individual trauma and insecurities have an impact on their relationship. The tumultuous nature of their arrangement and the subsequent revelations make for a rollercoaster of emotions, with some truly wonderful dialogue - I was already highlighting sentences in chapter one.

Will Jaxon and Sasha get their happily ever after? Find out on April 14th!

I didn’t finish reading this book because I just couldn’t force myself to read another fifty shades of grey imitation. Overall I enjoy Mollys books but maybe I’m bored of novellas in general. I enjoyed the first of this series but this one fell flat for me. No substance and just a bunch of tropes that added nothing.

The second book of the 'Desires Duet' starts where the first book stopped.

In this one, the readers learn more about Sasha and Jaxon's past
The characters become more complex and we get a deeper *wink* insight into the relationship between the main characters. Both in and out of bed. And we got more of Jaxon's family.

The spicy scenes were wow-level spicy. and there was this one scene that was just amazing!
Am I talking about the car? The window? Her birthday?

There were a few plot twists that I didn't see coming and they were so well written, I wasn't even mad.
Near the end, I was so close to throwing my phone on the wall, but the last chapter was great and my phone is fine.

It's a great read if you need a small smut book.
Can't wait to see what else the author has in store for us.

What a ride of emotions!

This book gave me exactly what I needed after Dominant Desires ended with a cliff-hanger. I was so torn between wanting to throttle Jaxon and hug him. I loved the passion between him and Sasha throughout the book. And the spice…woah! This book was full of it. If you like fade to black romance, this isn’t the book for you. But if you like hot, sexy scenes and a couple that will potentially rip your hear to shreds, then this is the book for you. Loved it even when I wanted to throw it!

First off, Molly you’ll be getting a bill from my therapist!!

But this book picks up right where the first book ended. The spice in this book was amazing! This book had everything and you are not ready for that ending! You’ll have to read to find out if Sasha and Jaxon get their HEA. Congratulations Molly on an wonderful book!

2.5 stars, I had to ready this cause the last one ended on a cliff hanger. I had to wait for the last 19 mins of the book to piece anything together. The rest was just smug and no plot.

When I think of this book after reading it, I sigh deeply because I think of the relationship Jaxon and Sasha have. Before I get into this review, I do want to point out that you should read the triggers for this book because it may contain certain things that you don’t feel comfortable with. Now that that is taken care of, I want to dive right in. Dark Desires starts off where Dominant Desires left off. And if you read the previous book, you know we were left with a cliffy that made you swallow and dread what was to come. I do want to point out that in my review for Dominant Desires, I stated that I hated Jaxons sister or something along those lines, well…..lets just say I don’t know what I was thinking (okay maybe I do, but still)…..it turned out to be the total opposite of what I was thinking lol. 😈 Molly Doyle new what she was doing to us when she wrote this duet because the steam and emotions that these books gave off shouldn’t have been make me blush. Especially when I was around people who thought I was scrolling on Facebook or something. Then there was the ending, where I wanted to slap someone silly because like come on, why didn’t I see that coming but also hug someone because of the emotions that were brought out. JAXON HAS MY BLACK HEART YALL!! 🖤 (Yes, I say that about a lot of the characters I read. But that’s how you know the author did there thang!) I hope you enjoyed this book as much as I have…..particularly those dirty scenes we all love!! 😏
Happy Reading!! 😈

damn

I can’t say nothing bad about Molly‘s work it’s addicting. The cliffhanger she left in the last book which is screaming at the SafeWord had my heart pumping. But when I can say is that the spice Is a six the plot is there a 5.5. The story is well written there’s no gaps and in characters history but I do wish that we got a bit more information on the relationship between Jax and it’s old submissive along with the backstory on how Tony met like all of them.

I love how dynamic between Jackson Sasha was it was cute see but like also I really end up with the BSM community one thing I wish was written in was aftercare I don’t remember reading anything about aftercare that that was missing.

Have a jacks decide that it was her fault for calling her safe word late shouldn’t do dominant know what his submissive can handle you can see that he question her before you have to question your submissive then I feel like we should call the SafeWord yourself but it’s just my opinion. But overall I love the book

Spoiler

I do not see that the little unknown POV‘s was Jack’s I should have based on the details and him loving New York and just like him going out and coming back I really like out of it I should have picked up on that but when I did find out I was flabbergasted because you don’t see it coming.

With the whole blackmailing Jax I was trying to figure out what it was I was thinking murder OK or just like the whole dynamic of like the BDSM but my main question is why were they so hell-bent on blackmailing him for some thing like that.

Okay - so when he was explaining his relationship with Marnie and all that shit, it never once crossed her mind to question him or say anything about how in the middle of the night (drunk) he said "I love you ... Marnie". When she questioned him he said he didn't know who that was she don't exist right?
So she thought he meant he was talking to her. But now she knows Marnie exists but that whole damn time she NEVER said anything like 'you loved her enough to still tell her that in the middle of the night' or ANYTHING?!!!

I could feel the setup for major heartbreak coming. And I am ashamed to say... I did NOT see that coming. I thought this dude was cheating!!!!! broooo I was getting prepared to hate this dude.
I really didn't see THAT being his secret. but I should've.

We still got a 2d MMC. Its never even explained why he was blackmailed. We knew what they had but there was nothing more on it. Why did they randomly come out of nowhere YEARS later?
Why did he lie about the meeting?
He kept lying to her even after he promised he wouldn't.
IDK I hated him. with a passion.

Smut was good though. ;)

I love molly doyle and her books so much bc of the spice, romance, characters and writing but this duet just wasn't it FOR ME. It felt a lot like fifty shades of grey and idk i didnt feel the romance between the characters. The way they met as well was a bit weird and the flow of the plot and obstacles didnt go well. But the first book was from a few years ago and molly's recent books are the best so maybe it was a one time thing and that's okay. However i did shed a tear here and there at the angry parts 😭 even though they would go right back to each other then fight again likeee😭😭😭hated the part where he called her a slave 😭😭😭😭😭😭 (btw not shaming others if they like that, just not my thing 😭)

The smut was okay which was a bit shocking for me bc molly doyle's other books spice is so fucking good but this duet's smut was okay 😔

Anyways i love u molly doyle and i love ur other books🫶🏽

smut rating 🌶🌶🌶: 2/5
plot rating 📝📝📝: 2.5/5
romance rating ❤️❤️❤️: 2/5
enjoyment rating 😋😋😋: 2.5/5
overall book duet rating: 2/5

This book is the second book to the Desires Duet, and it was EVERYTHING. This books continues where we left off on Dominant Desires. The rollercoaster of emotions with this book will have you saying what the actual crap!!! In Dominant Desires, I was in a love-hate relationship with Jaxon. And I felt like that through most of the book but once I read Dark Desires that changed COMPLETLEY. In Dark Desires, I felt like Jaxon was more vulnerable and open with Sasha and I really really loved that about it. We get to see a side of both of them we didn't really get to see in Dominant Desires and I think that is one of the most amazing things about this book. The smut in is was 100% thigh clenching. I wish I had my own Jaxon but i'll just keep wishing. This book had me being happy, mad, frustrated in a span of minutes and then the next it had me ugly crying and sobbing. I can't wait for y'all to read this. YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE!!!!!!!

3.4 ⭐ *MINOR SPOILERS*

"Without any warning, he winds back his arm and punches the wall" -- THIS IS NOT AN ATTRACTIVE QUALITY IN A MAN. I get the whole he's got trauma and he needs to heal and he's got issues, but the white men punching holes in walls movement annoys me.

Also the pattern from half of last book and half of this book did start to get a it old. "Oh something else Jaxon is hidden. Now Sasha is upset. Now Jaxon is upset that Sasha was upset. Should probably have sex now".

Okay now that that's out of the way, this book is what 50 shades should have been. Romance, BDSM, crazy shit, this was an addictive read. And it was written better. Good on Molly Doyle. Spicey 🌶️🌶️🌶️

The twist at the end was also crazy!! I did NOT see that coming. The only issue is that I really can't imagine being with someone after that, like even if you love them, I think it would taint everything too much.

But yeah, if you like a kinky romance you will probably enjoy this! 😘

This book was amazing. The vulnerability that Jaxon showed throughout the entire book was so good, he wants to make Sasha happy and show her that she deserves everything in life. He steps out of his comfort zone and embraces the changes that have happened in his life, for someone who is always closed off and likes things his way, he really changed a lot for her. Sasha is amazing in this book too, you can see her begin to set her boundaries with Jaxon and get him to understand what she won't tolerate and I love it. These two characters really captured my heart between overcoming the lies and the secrets and dealing with their dark past, I just have no words. Now that ending was just perfection I cried so hard for despite being warned I truly was not ready for that ending. It was everything anyone could've asked for it was truly the perfect ending to a perfect book. I highly recommend reading this, but please keep the tissues next to you because you will need them.

Dark Desires by Molly Doyle is the second book in the Desires Duet. This one picks up right where book one ended. This book has love, hate, passion, spice, pain, secrets, betrayal, and so much more. This book will take you a rollercoaster ride of emotions. And when I say you're not ready for this ending, you are NOT ready. It will either make you want to cry, or if you're anything like me, want to slam your head into a wall and attack the author. This book pushes Jaxon, Sasha, and their relationship to the breaking point. But you'll have to read to find out if their relationship can make it through or if this is the end for them. I'm so sad to see this duet end, Jax and Sasha will always hold a special place in my heart. Also, major congratulations to Molly for finishing her first published duet.

YOU GUYS!!! This book is so dang good! After all this time, waiting to read the rest of Jax and Sasha's story, this book DOES NOT disappoint. From the very beginning, picking right up where we left off, the rollercoaster that is Jax and Sashas relationship begins. I am not going to lie, when Dominant Desires ended I was VERY unsure how I felt about Jax. He was the ultimate alpha hole and I couldn't decide if I liked him or not. However, this book had me falling in love and becoming absolutely OBSESSED with him. The smut in this book is once again grade A and had me wishing for my own Jax. The emotions this book will make you feel range from laughing to absolutely ugly crying, sobbing. So, so good! Can't wait for everyone to read this book and see how this story ends.

We pick off right were the first book finishes, only discovering the beginning of Jaxson’s dark and never ending secrets. Sasha is in for a wild ride that is if she can accept his demons.

Jaxon promising her to be a better man but his dark past won’t let him forget what he has done. And as he falls down the rabbit hole, Sasha is learning to accept her past and love herself.

The spice omf. I love me a dark dominating man with a traumatic past🤤🥵

I have never been so anxious for a book in all my life!! Just like the first book, this one is fast paced and SMUTTY AS F * C K🥵🤤 Molly DID NOT disappointed us on the smutt!!!

I loved this duet so so much, it will forever stick with me!

Loved the story but ended too quick.

Well I loved this duet so much! The storyline was great. Really good drama. Loved the MCs together. However... I hated the ending. It went WAAAYYY too fast. The 2nd book was filled with almost too much smut and this absolutely kills me to say because I love smut as much as the rest of us. But there were pages of smut that I just flipped through just to get back to the plot then the ending had some big bombs dropped but wrapped up in like 10 pages. I mean everything was wrapped up nicely and I loved the HEA but definitely felt those last 2 chapters and epilogue could have been spread out just a touch more. But other than that loved these books.

painful.. The dominant is abusive, manipulative and toxic, the female lead ignores every red flag in both books. initially commenting on them but pushing through with no real reason to other than plot. there's something that just rubs me wrong about a male dominant that's wealthy beyond all realistic means and is in ridiculous shape and ruggedly good looking but treats the female character like dirt. breaking rules of their contract, lying manipulating them all for it to be overlooked by the female lead. it reminds me of Haunting Adeline in the worst ways. molly's other books are written so much better than these two and this one especially. I barely managed to finish this book and do not recommend it..

Sasha and Jaxon are EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! I have no words to describe how amazing this book is!!

We pick up where we left off, and what an emotion filled ride it is!! So many secrets are revealed, some painful heartbreaking moments and so much more that will have you obsessively turning pages.

The spice in this book is top tier and the story is INCREDIBLE. I love Jaxon and Sasha so much!!!

I wanted to hate Jaxon after book 1, but Dark Desires had me falling in love with him.

Dark Desires gives this couple the perfect ending, and Molly Doyle gave us an AMAZING story!!

I cannot describe how I felt reading this without giving it away. I’ll try my best.

It’s all going fine right, the spice 😘, the drama, the closed off mmc, the take no bull fmc. Sasha is even more awesome in this for everything. She has to deal with her own emotional trauma while also working through her new, for the time being, life. Jaxson, my closed off Dom, will do anything to keep Sasha.

The secrets throughout this is so frustrating. It’s not even just one secret, my girl put in something that threw me and I could not put it down without finding out what it meant.

This man’s caring side, I want to be Sasha. This man’s dark side is delicious, I crave it.

HOT DAMN!
This was an amazing conclusion to this duet. Molly, you seriously know how to write a smutty scene. This is the second book in the Desires Duet, starting off right where the first book ended. I will be honest, I did not really care for Jaxon in the first book. I liked him.. then i didn't (This went back and forth for a while). The second book he reallllyyy redeemed himself and I am so glad this book ended the way it did! The emotions you will feel will give you whiplash.. trust me! I don't want to say much about the plot since it's not out yet but.. you will see for yourself tomorrow!!!

Okay, some parts of this book was a bit boring but also the plot sometimes gets my attention but not very much since this book also has a bunch of spicy scenes which I don't really mind much. I'm just shocked that well, Jaxon was involved in the accident where Sasha's parents also died that same day, but I guess it's fate that brought them together, and the fact at the epilogue I was very shocked to find out that Sasha is pregnant with Jaxon's child but that is also highly expected considering how much they already iykyk with each other, and they will also get married soon afterward, this duology was a very wonderful experience and I will still miss this characters and this world.

- good plot and pacing: ✅
- plenty of spice: ✅✅
- emotional heartbreak I’m still reeling from: ✅✅✅

(Semi-)SPOILERS BELOW!!!

This is the second book in the Desires Duet, picking up right after the end of Dominant Desires. It follows Sasha and Jax as they work through problems such as trust, lies, blackmail, and matters of the heart.

Will they be able to work through Jaxon’s secrets, or will it end up being the thing that breaks them forever?

I ate this book up within 48 hours and I regret NOTHING! As this is the second book in a duet I won’t go into the plot of it but I want to highly recommend both books if you are looking for a emotional roller coster ride which will provide a sweet escape from reality. This story will grip you from page one and won’t let you go until the very last page. Do yourself a favor and binge the duet because let me tell you it was absolute torture waiting for book two to release after having read the first book last year.
This story and these characters are perfection! 5 stars!
