Never trust a Naga DeVante is back, and ready to face the next challenge. After narrowly escaping Ethryn’s clutches in the sewers of Salem, DeVante and his crew set out for the Nagarian Temple. There they meet the Naga, an ancient race who once ruled both the sea and the shore, hell bent on regaining their former glory. Tasked with restoring Nasaphene, the demigoddess of the sea, DeVante must venture to the Sunken Temple and find the Orb of Purity. It seemed like a simple task until one of the Naga turned on him, leaving him to drown in the depths of the ocean. Not only will DeVante have to contend with the guardian of the orb, but a Naga coup as well. Recovering the Orb of Purity to empower Nasaphene’s weakened form will take all of DeVante’s powers and abilities, but will they prove enough to overcome the horde of sea creatures threatening to reclaim the Nagarian Temple? Manassassin 2 picks up where the first book left off, finding DeVante reeling from recent losses. Filled with tons of attributes, new spells, and new women to gain abilities from, Manassassin 2 is the harem adventure to kick of your new year. Warning! Manassassin 2 is a harem fantasy adventure, and isn’t intended for those under 18, or any who don’t take pleasure in sexual situations.
So, a fair bit to unpack. The plot was decent, new elements to the story were pretty good. There's an issue though with the constant shift of characters. Before you can get any attachment to them, they're sidelined, or worse killed off, "off camera" as it were. That's, kind of annoying.
Parry/Perry. Which is it? The shift between books was also annoying. I hope the author has made up their mind.
The lite rpg elements are still decent. Was interesting how he nerfed a power he needed for the plot but would've left future things lacking tension.
Smut was decent, not high end but solid.
The main thing that almost made me lower it even more though? Lack of editing. It wasn't quite as bad as the first book, but off you've got a good story, don't detract from it with shoddy editing. A good editor is worth the price of it makes the story flow well, and more readable.
I really hope the author settles on a group to accompany the MC eventually and expand them to actual people. The lack of development on anyone else feels... cheap.
I really enjoyed the read. It was entertaining .Most harem books have more story than sex. I enjoyed the fact that yours wasn't like that. What I didn't enjoy was the way you left me hanging. After two books there is no ending and no mention of a third book. That really sucks.
So far, I really like this series. The downside is that it can be a tad dark in places. You'll start to like a character and, bam, she's dead. It doesn't take away from the quality of the book, but is a bit of a warning.
Definitely enjoyed this book and while it did have less of the adult content then book 1 it did fit the overall tone of this book. Very much want to see more of these characters.
This is an exceptional series to read!!! No OP MC, slow progressive building of power and exceptional characters!!!! The uniqueness of races we all know makes this a very fun and enjoyable story!!!! Don't miss out on this author folks!!!!!
