When Lighting Strike

Rate this book
Ten years ago, love struck teenage hearts.
Ten years ago, promises were made.
Ten minutes ago, he walked into her office.

Renee Reedley has climbed the ladder to the top of the marketing world. But while her career is soaring, her love life has stalled. After all, who can compare to the debonair stranger she met on that stormy beach ten years ago? What kiss could live up to one that was laced with lightning? When billionaire, Layne Jackabee, walks into her life, Renee's world goes sideways. With her career on the line, will she be willing to take a chance?

Jack fell in love years ago with a girl he met on a beach ten years ago. But after they made a pact to meet up in a year again, and she didn't show, his heart closed off to any future prospects of love. When she comes back into his life, he's not exactly happy to see her. If all is fair in love and war, then let the war begin. Revenge is best served cold, with a few pranks and a pining heart for good measure.

They say lightning and love never strike twice, but fate has plans to prove them wrong in this enemies to lovers second chance romance novella.

A beta read?

I've loved Pre-Approved Identity Theft & The Forgotten Ones by this author. Unfortunately, this novella wasn't up to their caliber.

Renee & Layne's conflict is too contrived. He would have at least asked her why she never showed up before assuming the worst. And then destroying her career because he thinks she stood him up? It just makes him look like a sociopath. The revenge/spite war between them was ridiculously juvenile & unprofessional.

It does get a little better once it moves past that part, but that's only relative. This is like a rough draft before any beta readers' feedback
