Peter Lucas aka Shadow had thought he was done with the world of covert operations. He had retired to a remote location in Northern Ontario only to be drug back into the deadly world of spies, arms dealers and geopolitical turmoil. The world's deadliest assassin goes on a quest to once and for all free himself from the web of evil and save the love of his life, however powerful forces are working to hunt him down. Meanwhile the former head of the CIA Elmore Craft has created a new company to provide western governments intelligence, bringing with him a motley group of talented operators whose first mission involves a rouge arms dealer and stolen French weapons. Idyllic serenity along the shores of a small lake is shattered by cruel luck, sending Shadow deep into enemy territory to hunt his nemesis and attempt to rescue an unexpected ally. This thrill ride spans two hemispheres, three continents and nearly a dozen countries before its deadly conclusion.
Mr. Haury has continued to reward his readers with more than we expected with his fourth entry into the fascinating world of his protagonist Peter Lautellhaurie/Lucas aka the Shadow. I've seldom enjoyed a series more than what we've discovered in Mr. Haury's works of literary art. I sincerely hope he continues to let us into the private world of the Shadow in the hopefully near future.
One of the best I have read in some time. Numerous events occurring at once, but very well scripted. Excellent research, accurately described. Now into Fith and last book of series— where do I go next?
Great story, well-written witch very engaging subjects.
I have read a number of these serialized books, but none of them came close to being as engaging as this series. I would not hesitate to buy this authors other books.
This is the fourth one in the series and I just started on book 5. Mr. Hairy knows how to write interesting books and are all well researched. The stories have a great cast of characters to keep us entertained. Can't wait to read number 5 .
