Stolen from her life...
HEATHER After tirelessly searching for Kylie the last five years, Heather was close to giving up. Then, the one clue, which gave her hope, also put her in the crosshairs of evil, and he will stop at nothing to silence her. If this journey in searching for her friend has taught her one thing, life is never that easy.
Krystyna Allyn lives in somewhere USA with her amazingly awesome husband. Though she works full time, blogs and reads like a maniac, she still manages to find time to write all of her crazy stories. Her hobbies include baking, skydiving, karaoke and general mischief.
Well shit !!!! I didn't know what to expect when I read this debut novel from Krystyna Allyn but I will say that I'm so glad I got the chance to.
I'll start off by saying that I am picky as Fuck when it comes to paranormal romance but Krystyna sucks me right into this story.
With some twists and turns. A few hot alpha males and some secrets that your dying to know this debut novel is definitely one that belongs on your TBR.
It's a quick read and has the makings of a great series to come. I'm definitely invested in what will happen next and I'm definitely already attached to a few characters in this book. And with the way this book ends I'm dying for the next one and will instantly one click.
A debut not to miss. This new author brings to the table, or should I say Kindle, all the wonderful things a reader wants in a story. Filled with great twists that will leave you jaw dropped and shocked with the next turn. If you like some heat mixed in with action than this is definitely a book you will want on your TBR. For a new author this story read as though this was her fourth book and not her first. The story is paced so that you follow easily and will be glued to the pages until the end. A great layered story and a definite five star read. I can't wait to see what this author has planned next.
This is the first book by this new author. I really enjoyed reading it! Be warned this has a cliff hanger, but hopefully the next book will be out soon and we won't have to suffer too much longer. The story has a mystery (who doesn't love a good mystery?!). Oh! I must not forget to mention the *HOT* scenes! They were fun to read! This writer shows lots of promise and I'm looking forward to reading more of her stories!!
This is this Authors first book (from what I can tell) and I thought she did beautifully. I'm not huge on 3rd POV but with this story it worked perfectly. It has twists and turns that kept me guessing. There is a paranormal aspect of this story that you don't expect while reading the description and the authors take was different but straight forward. A very unique perspective on wolves (what little we did see)
This is heathers story but it's also a lot more then that: like the title suggests it resolves around trying to find Kylie. Heather was determined and slightly obsessed with what happened and finding the truth but at the same time you can feel all her pain and guilt. I really liked Max. He was charismatic, but the way about it was graceful.
I won't go into too much detail but I really did enjoy the story. My main complaint is the lack of the paranormal aspect. Yes I can see why; and yes there will be more books, but I just feel like there should have been incorporated more into this story. 4 stars #2OCCJD
This book has an interesting spin on the usual paranormal/mate struggle. You don't get to see some of the conflicts that are driving the story until later on, so it was a bit of a slow start getting into it. But once more of the story was detailed it was really easy to get sucked in. The cliffhanger ending answered some questions, but it left a lot more new questions, too! Now I can't wait to get into the second book!
This is book 1 in The Hybrid Series by debut Author Krystyna Allyn. This series uis off to a great start. Kylie and Heather are best friends so when Kylie goes missing, Heather will stop at nothing to find her, she even hires a private dectective, but unfortunatly he meets a grizly end! This is a fast paced story which in all honesty really does pull you in right from the beginning. We also meet some Alpha males and Max well he is so HOT, I love Max, can't wait to read more of him ;) . Be warned this book does end on a cliff hanger, but hopefully we won't have to wait to long for book 2, which I am really looking forward to reading. Well done Krystyna a fantastic start to a promising career.
I received the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
What a quick but an amazing read! I was addicted as soon as Max came into the picture. I really couldn't put it down it was that good! I'm already obsessed with this new series. I was bummed there was a cliffhanger at the end. I still needed more! Now I'll have to wait for the next book. Definitely a great story here!
I have to say I really enjoyed this debut novel by Krystyna Allyn. I’m a big paranormal fan and also a very picky paranormal reader. This book was a solid introduction to a series. The writing was good, the story kept my attention and that ending had me begging for more. I did like the main characters Heather and Max but I did feel their connection was a little too insta love/lust for my liking. I would have preferred a slower burn between the two as the story progressed. I also liked the secondary characters and can’t wait to read more about them in the next book. For a debut paranormal novel I was left impressed and intrigued. This author has a lot of potential and I can’t wait for more!!
Ok all my PNR buddy's, here's one for my roots of romance reading. PNR I missed you! Krystyna it was a pleasure meeting you!
Super fun to read, PNR is still one of my favorite genre's and it's because of stories like this one! Great characters, intriguing story line and page turning mysterious plot. And let's not leave out HOT AS HELL SEX!
A debut novel by Krystyna Allyn surprisingly pulls me in from page one. Usually, the first book a series seems slow for me since there's always a lot of world building. However, this book was able to deliver a fast-paced story from start to finish. I enjoyed the characters and the premise of the story. I am hoping book two comes out quickly as it left me hanging but in a good way. I cannot wait to continue this saga.
For a debut author, I have to say well done. I really enjoyed the story line and the characters in the book. It held my attention and made me care about what was happening to each character. It does have a cliffy, but I look forward to the next installment. I do want to also say that the cover is awesome. One of the best I have ever seen and caught my attention immediately. Bravo!
Okay so this is the second time I've read this and I forgot how much I liked it! What a great debut novel, this author totally rocked it!
We briefly meet Kylie at the beginning of the book and witness the crazy that is Heather. Haha...okay she's not crazy, more like boisterous, outgoing & free spirited, versus Kylie's more reserved persona. The two seem like polar opposites, which I kind of love, and you can definitely see that the odd duo really have a special bond.
Fast forward 5 years and long gone, or maybe hidden away, is that carefree Heather we met in the beginning. She definitely grew up and is more reserved. I mean, given the way the cookie crumbled for her, I can understand the change. Her lifes purpose for the past 5 years has been soley to find Kylie. When she finally gets a lead on the case, things start to get a bit strange. Cue sexy, mysterious Max and a whole other world Heather is impervious to, and the crazy starts to unravel.
Now I'm sitting here like, I need book 2 stat! Yesterday woman! Needed it yesterday! The book really gets moving and new secrets start to unfold, leaving us with all sorts of questions. It ends in a hell of a cliffy, so be prepared! I can't wait for the next book...she needs to non stop write so I can read the entire series already! If you're a paranormal romance lover like I am, this is a must read. Aside from the paranormal romance thing, you get a bit of mystery as well which I personally love. Come on book 2!!
This book wasn't for me as I don't care for the writing style, it feels narrated/stilted without a good flow. It could just be me because I personally prefer a 1st person pov while reading. The story itself had good bones for a paranormal book with a few twists I didn't see coming. It had some suspenseful moments but the characters were underwhelming. It unfortunately did not excite me but intrigued me enough that I would probably read the second book because I don't like to leave a story unfinished in my brain...I like to follow it to its ultimate conclusion. #BookSmackedReviewer
I’m not a regular paranormal reader, but I do enjoy an occasional fantasy story. When I get the urge for a good fantasy, I tend to lean toward shapeshifters. There is something about the hot, alpha wolves that make me salivate. Finding Kylie is a paranormal adventure with wolves. Finding Kylie is Krystyna Allyn’s debut novel. Excellent introduction! For me, there are pluses and minuses with a lot of potential for future books.
What I Like: The premise of the story. I am drawn toward books that are dark with dangerous characters. I am also a big fan of suspense with a good mystery. We get all of this in Finding Kylie. Kylie is a loner. Her only friend is Heather, who isn’t always a good influence. One day Heather talks Kylie into skipping out on her homework and exam preparation to go clubbing. Heather and Kylie are separated, and Kylie disappears without a trace. For five years Heather focuses on finding Kylie, but if she continues, she is warned there will be more trouble ahead.
The characters: The characters are a good combination of good and evil. In the beginning, Heather starts is a carefree individual. She is super smart and doesn’t have to spend a lot of time studying to get good grades. Kylie is the opposite. She must work hard to succeed. Heather, the main character, is single-minded in her goal to find Kylie. Her single-mindedness is a concern to her parents and friends. She does let loose one night and meets Max who sweeps her off her feet.
Max is my favorite male character in the pack probably because he is the one I know the most except for the evil Marco. Max is charged with a task that leads him to Heather. There is an instant pull to her that he fights as much as he can. Jeremiah is Max’s friend. They watch out for one another. The male characters in the pack are all hot and mysterious. Some deliciously hot scenes are well written and make the reader want to know more about these unusual men and their purpose. It is also evident that evil is lurking and waiting to jump out.
The villain is super evil so far. There are hints that there are more wicked characters to appear. I like knowing the villain is a really bad guy and doesn’t care who is hurt. It keeps the reader’s stomach-turning somersaults.
A Couple Negatives for Me: Cliffhangers! I do not like reading a book if I don’t know it is going to be part of a series with a cliffhanger. I like to read a story from beginning to end. I binge watch TV shows, so I’m not left hanging. I need the whole chronicle.
The beginning of the book makes me believe that one character is going to be the hero/savior. His observations, decisions, and comments make me think that the true Alpha is waiting to pounce. Now I’m disappointed with that character (not all his fault) and questioning the person who is the champion or savior. Not because I don’t like both, I do. It is just that the story seems to go in a different direction.
I like twists and the unexpected, but for me, this doesn’t work with what I know so far. Possibly because we now have a shift from a Heather focus back to Kylie as the focus. I love the first 75% of the book the last 25% to the cliffhanger leaves me, not only hanging but disenchanted.
Finding Kylie is an unexpected surprise for a debut novel. There are a lot of elements that I love: dark, dangerous, suspense, and mystery that builds emotions and anticipation. I hurt with both Kylie and Heather for different reasons. I love the character that is my hero and like the character who is headed to hero status. (A little vague but I don’t want to spoil.) I love the villain/villains. They are wicked to the nth degree. It is indicative of a good author who can create exceptional baddies.
There is a lot of potential for Finding Kylie to be excellent with the next episode. I might be way off and find out that everything plays out as I hope while I expect more twists. Finally, I love experiencing new authors early in their career, and I’m excited to see what is in store for this author. Krystyna Allyn has more than acceptable writing skills, and I expect to see a lot of great stories from her in the future.
This is my first book by this author, and I am truly hooked on her style of writing and creatively intense world that beckons you forth into its depths to savor its uniquely sinful taste! I will say this book is not for the faint of heart. Finding Kylie contains some heart wrenching and difficult scenes; however, it’s worth the read.
Kylie is shockingly not the main character, but a pinnacle one. Kylie’s character brings forth a change in Heather for the remaining portions of the unexcepted gritty, heart-stopping, and emotional upheaval of a novel. Initially, a fun-loving, party animal, Heather becomes a workaholic who is obsessed with documenting and finding out what happened on that faithful night. In the midst, of this finding this her two besties from work set her up on blind date the same night she finds out pivotal information from that night so long ago! Here enters the dreaming and quite scrumptious Max. After, a hot, wild and incredible night of sheet acrobats, we learn how important the lovely Heather is to this wonderful and kind Max.
But, never far is the devil-possessed brother aka Alpha; whom is the responsible party for that faithful night so long ago. He is also one of the puppeteers that is stirring the pot; Max is then forced into the same sad, rage state that buried his loving and caring brother… this happens in conjunction to his beautiful mate Heather’s kidnapping… Let’s just say this story is full or twist, turns, oh sh*t moments, and it’s so worth the read. FYI it’s a total cliffhanger… so be prepared to yell at your kindle and then download the next book immediately!

This was a debut novel for this new author and I was very pleased with the way the story unfolded. This book had me twisting and turning in all sorts of ways. You will be pulled through the story along the path of humor, intense situations and heat that gives you all of the right feels.
This book has a dark edge to it, but not so far deep that you won’t be able to appreciate the comedy that helps to balance it all out, and a romantic connection so strong that even these two can't explain it.
The author provided an insight to friendship that extends to so many levels. Why else would Heather be so determined to start this long journey of Finding Kylie! The way her other friends carried on the banter and encouraged her to still live her life even as an effort to continue to stay strong and keep up the hope that she would find her friend alive, was just another example of the type of bonds Heather makes with people she cares for. These girls had me laughing and enjoy the book so much more. Add the heat from one SEXY lead male and I was swooning and laughing all at once.
I have to say great job to the author and hurry up and bring on the next, because I was screaming, holy hell, what is going on here…please give me more. I need so much more and I can’t wait to read the next in this series.
Absolutely amazing debut book. Ms. Allyn writes a captivating story. I've never read a paranormal book quite like this and paranormal romance is my favorite sub genre of romance. This book puts a whole new spin on werewolves.
Kylie and her best friend Heather go to bar one night for the live band. Kylie is studious and doesn't want to stay out real late because she has finals this week. She gets abandoned by Heather to go with the band to an after party. Kylie gets abducted from the bar and Heather is distraught because she left her friend there. Five years later Heather finally gets a break in the investigation in the abduction of Kylie. After being pressured by her coworkers to go on the blind date that they set her up on, she puts her investigation on hold for one night. Her blind date is not who he says he is. Max is the Beta to his pack. His brother, the Alpha and is a cruel and unfair leader, but he didn't start out that way. Once Max touches Heather he is a goner. He knows she is his mate, but he will not claim her because of his brother. Fate has another thing to thing to say about that. Will these to survive their second meeting?
I can't wait for this series to continue. Awesome debut novel. I recommend this book to anyone that loves paranormal romance.
** I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review **
As a blogger but most importantly a reader first, finding new authors to love is almost like finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It takes luck at times to find one that impresses you with their very first book even if it wasn’t perfect. For me my latest find is Krystyna Allyn and her book Finding Kylie. I am a huge paranormal fan, this is no secret but lately I have had a lot of duds instead of amazing books but Finding Kylie is a strong start to a series that has the potential to be phenomenal in my opinion. The foundation is there, now it just needs to be built upon. I am already looking forward to book two. This is a fast paced read and you will be curious about what will happen next because the twists and turns take you for a ride.
4.5 stars!! Wow what a debut novel!! The bar has been set!
This is the first book in the "Hybrid" series. It ends in one hell of a cliffy!! Omg I need the next book ASAP!
When your best friend goes missing you stop at nothing to find them. Problem is 5 years is a long time and nothing is panning out. Until I discover Jim the PI. Now I have a lead but before I even get anywhere in walks Mr Sexy himself, Max. One night of immense pleasure turns my whole world upside down ~Heather
This is one hell of a first book!! I love paranormal but don't get to read as much as I would like to and this book made me realize why I love it so much. I know there is so many more twists coming and I am so excited!! I love Max and Heather! Marco had me hating him but there may be something there. Oh how confused I am. So many secrets and twists!! I love it!!
This was an easy quick read. The character development was on point and the flow of the book was perfect. This is an amazing read. Don't miss out!!
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
It's a BIG 4 1/2 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 New author for me and I'm not much of a Paranormal reader but I very much enjoyed this book. Liked it so much I may have cursed her out for leaving me with a cliffy. Great character development and interesting storyline to say the least, I think I have a little crush already on two sexy as sin Alpha's. Can't wait for the next book in the series to be released. Congratulations to this new Up and coming new author, I look forward to reading your future releases.
For a debut novel, Krystyna Allyn has given thus a really good go. As with any debut, there are a few issues but they things that experience and time will iron out. Things like flow of the story and greater detail to sentence structure.
But, if you read passed the shell and dig deeper into the bones of the story, it's actually a really good read. Initially I was a little confused by the whole scenario, and I couldn't quite figure out what paranormal creature I was dealing with but once I got my head round it I was sucked in and devoured the book quite quickly. There is a lot going on, plenty of action to keep you glued to the pages and a couple of brilliant little twists to keep you guessing. I've got a feeling this series is going to be a good one.
Why did I wait so long to read this book? I’ve owned it for months. I’m a huge PNR lover and this book checked every box for me. Onto Saving Heather!!!
Finding Kylie (The Hybrid Series book 1) by Krystyna Allyn
Fast paced, addicting, and very suspenseful to say the least about this wonderful book. It quickly draws you in the plot line with the excellent character chemistry. It has several plot twists and secrets that just leave you begging for more. I can’t wait for the sequel, Saving Heather (The Hybrid Series book 2)
I was provided an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Heather has not had it easy. The guilt of her best friend going missing eats away at her. But 5 years later she is still adamant to find her. It takes her on an unexpected and dangerous journey. Then Max comes along.....
A good para read and i am looking forward to seeing how this pans out in the next one.
