Alt Drive #2

Rate this book
Have you ever had a dream where it felt so real, that it leaves you questioning reality when you wake up? Yeah, well…welcome to my world.

After almost dying like a noob in my last boss fight and having serious heart to hearts with NPC’s, the wires between reality and fantasy are starting to blur. I mean seriously, who in their right mind begins to develop real feelings for video game characters?

As if that isn’t enough, the game decides to throw in a tyrannical king, relentless assassins, a looming war, and the remnants of a long lost bloodline.

Life is definitely not as simple as it was when all I had to worry about was my pet cactus, two trusty butt plugs, and how to spend my massive inheritance.

But then again…

It’s just a game, right?

Remnanix is the second book in the Alt Drive Series. This cannot be read as a standalone. So, if you are joining us, make sure to read Pixelnix first.

Xena and her merry band of boys continue their journey through the game world. She learns more about how things work inside the game. I swear, this is such a fun, unique series. Luna May continues to make this so world exciting and adventurous. It seriously makes me wish that I can escape to this VR, myself. This is completely action packed, the dangers are real, her guild...OMG, I love them so much. That cliffy left me hanging AGAIN!!!! Definitely, looking forward to the next book in this series.

This book is quite a challenge as a non-gamer, non-visual reader and non-native speaker. However, I think that's also what makes the book so exciting! The book is action-packed, just like all those games around and this game very clearly has a great story and a very rich world where a lot is going on. That much that at times it gets a little chaotic and at times it's a little hard to keep track of all the characters, what they're thinking and what they're doing. However, even though it's quite a big book, there is no moment to get bored! And last but not least there is always our heroine and her hilarious inner monologues!

Another amazing story by Luna May!
This entire book had me on the edge of my seat.

This is easily one of my favorite worlds to read. It's so easy to picture by the descriptions. Now I'm not a gamer so I have a feeling if I was I'd be even more enraptured by the world.
Xena is fierce. She kicks butt wherever she goes, but she's also so witty. Her inner monologue is great, that's something I usually struggle with but I love the way it's done in this series.
This book gives you more side characters in on the action, and I absolutely love Kat. She's so sassy, I really wish I had a bestfriend like here!

Xena's guys are great, they aren't always a huge focus throughout the book which left room for other POV's which I thought added so much depth to the story.

I'm so ready for the next book!

We see Xena and her craziness again, mainly on her own for alt of this book after the guys leave her - they really have done grovelling to do.
Just like the first book, Xenia’s personality is on show and it had me laughing out loud numerous times.
The suspense and twists were perfect.
While I’m not a big gamer, I still found it very easy to understand and quite enjoyable- actually learn a bit about gaming terminology etc.
That cliffhanger ending leave you screaming for more, bring on book 3

Xena is still crazy af, and kicks a$$ wherever she goes, but the game gets to her and the guys has some 'splainin to do. Another action packed, unpredictable and funny delight of a book! I really do need book three just about yesterday, but I love the ending, despite the cliffy - it was very Xena! As a non gamer there might be things that wooshed way over my head, and you might get a different level of fun if you're in that world, but I really don't mind, because the entire book was - *chefs kiss*!

Xena continues to kick butt and stumble through the world of Simbale, full of sarcasm and sass. I loved getting more glimpses into what makes this world so amazing and beautiful. The adorable critters and beautiful panoramas that are described made me even more jealous of her belonging in that land. Her growing relationship with her best friend and constant snarky companion, Kat, provided nice breaks from the dire signs of war. This book got quite dark, involving violence on a different level than we saw before. No longer was it only adventurers against faceless monsters in a dungeon, now we are witness to cruel devastation visited upon towns -- women, children, elderly and ill included. This book delved into more of the lore, and powers that are working behind the scenes to either see a prophecy fulfilled, or ended as the case may be.

Xena's fated mates were largely missing in this book, at least where she was concerned. We saw them journeying and having clandestine meetings to further their cause while leaving her behind for her so-called protection. This gave a chance for side characters new and old to take up more of the stage. But I still found it highly frustrating to see such backwards progress in the relationship arcs.

This was a great second book!

I really like this story and the way its heading, the world building is really good...but I just cant stand the FMC. I just haven't been able to connect with her at all.
This book carries on after the cliffhanager from book 1, and Xena has been left by the guys to fend for herself, and she does this with ease. She continues on with the 'game' and takes on her on quests whilst learning about the world and what is happening with the royals and the rebellion.
The story is quite unique, the whole 'game within a game' style is fasinating with all the world buiding, you can tell so much thought has gone into how everything works and how it's going to play out. I really want to find out how the 'outside world' is involved with the game world and how everything plays out.
I'm sure there is a lot of gamer 'jargon' that is going over my head, but it hasn't distracted me from understanding what is going on.
Xena....she just isn't for me, I love the gamer side of her, her enthusiasm and her determination to learn new skills and gain knowledge. But the constant random monolougues were just something I didn't like, was she speaking out loud or not, and her over-sharing was too much for me. She was still as horny as book 1, possibly more so now the guys were teasing her more!
There are some great side characters and it looks like so much more is going to happen and be revealed in book 3.

Remnanix: An Epic Video Game Reverse Harem Romance, and the second book in the Alt Drive Series by Luna May was an epic continuation of this fantasy based RH gaming romance. This story will grab you right from the start and pull you in to a fantasy based world where anything is possible. May’s world building is phenomenal, the plot intriguingly fascinating and the characters are so charismatic and diverse they’ll pull you right in.

This story continues with Xena still on a mission to figure out the secrets of this world she finds herself in as well as fighting new challenges and continuing to make connections with the other characters in their world—making her question everything she thought she once knew and everything around her.

I loved how May brought the characters to life with their snarky wit, clumsy actions and overall enthusiasm. If you loving a good gaming fantasy world rh romance with tons of suspense, action, and lots of growth of the characters—this is the one for you! I can’t wait for the next book to see where it takes them all.

Quite often sequels lose pace and action as the slog-fest of a plot trods onwards through the most awkward point of character growth. Usually I cringe slightly with sequels knowing it's coming. Except for here. Remnanix was one rough and tumble adventure after another. I don't think there was a point the action truly slowed down enough to lose interest even in the slightest. The sort of off the cuff, rambling nature of Xena continued without a hitch. I'm suspecting Luna May has, or knows someone with ADHD because that squirrel brain of Xena is familiar to my own mental workings, and nearly impossible to describe or understand unless you have it. Regardless, I was happy to see that characters were able to grow without completely losing their identity. In some cases I wish they grew a little more. The spicy moments of the books have me so conflicted. They are written well, sprinkled nicely throughout, and yet I think I'm as frustrated as Xena with all the edging. My poor brain is begging for more satisfactory spicy moments, and gleefully reading for the next scene, knowing I'll probably simply be tortured. It was easier for my non-gaming knowledgeable mind to keep up with the terms and overall concept of the video game this book. So if that threw you off at all in Pixelnix, give Remnanix a try before counting it out. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Wow!

To say I’m impressed would be a massive understatement. I thoroughly enjoyed this book— so much more than the first one. I think because the first one relied so much on world building and having the reader become accustomed to it all, it lacked what this book is absolutely filled with. Action!

It kept me hooked all throughout- despite the fact a better portion of this book Xena was separated from her men, but it was sooo worth it to see the reuinion between them all, and to better understand Ryzer and his behaviour.

I actually think it was the best thing the author could’ve done. Not only did it slow down the pace in their relationship (which other RH fail to do sometimes) it also allowed us to see Kat and Xenas relationship build. The banter between those two is absolutely hysterical and had me laughing out loud— I love the fact our main character has an anchor to humble her.

I’ve noticed a lot of people disliking how fast Xena/Macey became OP, but in my opinion, I think it adds to the fact she’s always been someone that never belonged to earth. And, as the book is centred around, it’s a ‘video game’. Characters tend to spawn in and have a basic understanding of fighting etc- levelling up and getting better; exactly like Xena. If anything, I really like this.

Starting book 3 now. Sooo excited.

Delightfully Wild Romp!

I couldn’t put this down! I barely slept, and absolutely ignored the world while I was reading it!
As a video game nerd, who dreams of getting the opportunity to live my favorite games—this is an absolute delight! I’ve never read anything remotely like it!
Xena is so much fun to read, with just the right amount of sass! Her men are wonderfully protective and devoted, if a bit misguided.
The Author’s prose is absolute incredible, painting vivid pictures and details. You won’t want to stop reading!
I cannot wait to read more from this incredibly talented writer! She’s a one click favorite for me!

The absolute amazing character development

I loved Pixelnix so much, and I was anticipating this release for months. The way that Xena and her men interacted in book 1 was cute and funny, but in this book they really bond and open up with each other.

And Xena. Oh my god, Xena. She is one of the realest FMC I have ever read. She’s not whiney, and she owns up to every mistake that she makes. And she’s funny as heck.

This book made me cry, laugh, and cheer along with the main characters. Way to go Luna on another successful book that pulled me right into Simbale and made me feel like I was right there along with the characters .

The Right Pathway?

Luna May’s second book in her ‘Alt Drive’ series has a fascinatingly unique storyline that continues from book one. Xena and her ever companionable band of men are still on their quest to uncover the secrets of their current world. The author has woven the characters together in this tale of fantasy so beautifully that it makes you feel like you also are a part of that world. This book was full of exciting adventure, mystery, suspense and some hot steamy scenes that I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

Ok so let me address the cliffhanger first!!!! What in the world!!! Talk about leaving us hanging. Can not wait now to see what is next. I really enjoyed this book. I think about half way through it all started clicking for me. We start to get some answers to xenas questions. I feel the first half was still more world building. We were still trying to get to know xena. And then half way through I was like bam!!! I get it now. We see xena develop in to an amazing heroine. I really love her. She cracks me up with her random train of thoughts and her rambling. I love it. It makes her so human. I highly recommend. I can not wait for the next book!!!!

Remnanix is the second book in Luna May's Alt Drive Series and let me just say this...this addition to the series...PERFECT!! It blew the first book out of the water and was so much better. We still get a lot of the inner monologues (not just from the main character) but from others, too. I could do with less, but the storyline, for me, was a lot more engaging and had me page-turning. I lost sleep reading this book! So, I'm tired, but it was worth it! LOL!
I loved the various additions that the author threw into this book. It was a wild stew of awesomeness. I loved it. Yes, I've said that several times, but you need to understand...I loved it. LOL! This book is a wild romp in video game world with our main girl beginning to blur the lines of reality and game. Here's the question...will it cost her in the end? What will happen? I've got some burning questions I'm eager to get answered. Can't wait for book three!

I really like this book as we are immersed in the world where Xena lives in which is in virtual space. Trying to level up and fighting her way all through it. The last battle took a toll on her and she tries to revive herself. It's the way the author gives insight and reminding us Xena is from our world but now is in a game where the fight is actually very real. However in this book the guys are off so I expect a lot of make up time in the next book. Yes they have their reasons but seriously you don't just abandon someone. They helped heal her but that's it. Well can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

GAMERS UNITE!

I can't stress it enough... YOU HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES! From one gaming nerd to another, it's freaking amazing.
Pixelnix was really the first fully immersed gamer RH I've ever seen and Ive been in love since.
Remnanix continued that love 100%.
Luna May dives us deeper into the gaming world and the complex relationship of the characters.
There's a few guys I wouldn't mind disappearing.. but there always has to be one MC villian.
I am stoked for book 3. It cant come soon enough!

Luna May has done it again!! Having me on the edge of my seat anticipating book 3. I won't lie I spent the majority of this book angry reading because I was ready to strangle a lot of people, but I liked how resilient Xena was through it all. She rolled with the punches and stayed focused on her mission and never didn't let any obstacles or anyone's opinion of her stop her from trying to reach her full potential. I enjoyed all the action even though Xena does often seem to get distracted and blindsided during most of the fights lol. I won't get started on the grudge I'm still holding toward my boo Bo-bo for not stepping up and letting that man child run rampant. I can't wait to see what the next book holds and what parts the new characters will play in it all.

Still absolutely awesome!

I’m loving Xena’s progression in what she still feels is a game but is wishing more & more it was real because it feels more real to her than anything before! She’s a strong, absent-minded, brilliant, bad-mannered, smarta$$ and what could be better? We’re finally learning about the back story and seeing connections made but there’s still so much more and I am so ready for it!!! I can’t wait for her to learn the truth because she’s not going to know how to feel - ticked, betrayed, happy, or relieved. I’m loving how each of the guys fulfill different parts of her and I am dying for #6 to show for her because she’s going to be beyond floored! I’m so excited and happy I’ve already preordered the next!

Remnanix is the second book in this video game RH series.
Most of this book was Xena working solo on quests as the guys seemed to abandon her after healing her from their last quest. The guys have their reasons but still have to do explaining and maybe some groveling to makeup for their leaving.
I have to say this is one of the first video game themed series I have read and really enjoy them. The book does leave off on cliffhanger that will leave you you wanting the next book asap!

Yes this book rocked as much as the first ! Even though Xena had to undergo some not so cool pain and then get heart broken right after. Not cool of the mates! Kat is growing yay. I hope as Xena continues her journey that she gets stronger and gets her inventory. A girl needs things lol . No that cliffy wasn’t so bad as the first but I definitely need more Spunky Xena for sure! I can’t wait to see what’s in-store for all of them in next installment if this awesome series!

So much fun! Xena has some inner monologues that aren't that secret but that are so funny. I don't know how her mates can stand it withouht laughthing out pois. We have more battles here and She isn't always with her guys, they are still trying to protect her but She is a very strong heroine and Will Kick their a*** I'm sure. Very finy and with a vero good world building. Its almost like a fantasy book but its a virtual game.

Amazing

This is book two in the Alt Drive Series and Luna May has once again written an amazing story. I love the uniqueness of it all. Book two picks up where book one left off The characters are wonderful. I love how Xena is strong but can be vulnerable and a klutz. Her men a great and I love the steam. I love her friends . I love how we get some chapters from other POV's. There is a cliffhanger and I can't wait for book three. I highly recommend this series!

This book was an amazing read that grabbed me and kept me reading until the end. IT moves along at a speed which is perfect for the ups and downs of the story. The characters seem so read that you feel as though you know them and you want to be there for them. This book needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it.

I honestly don't know where to start or what to say about Remnanix. "Fantastic read", "wonderful follow-up" don't really see to cut it to be honest. There's more plot teasers, more insight into the characters, more... Everything. All I can say is, cliffhanger.

Oh, and I've also got a book hangover 🤦🏼‍♀️

Luna has done it again!! This book is Amazing! I loved the growth of the characters, and the suspense on every page, it truly made it difficult to put the book down. Highly recommend this series you will not regret! Mind you the cliffhanger is a bit rough but I think that’s what makes it more fun!

And the fab continues with book 2 ;D I really love how the author brought the characters to life and made them 3D. Snark, clumsiness and those bad manners really endeared them to me. Lol! There was also more suspense, action, humour, character growth, twists and RH romance with a gamer spin that made this a page turner and I have to say I'm dying for the next book to see how things continue to unfold. Such a great read!

Xena continues on her quest to find answers, along with her gorgeous men. The story is fast paced and full of action. There are some sweet moments and some smoking hot ones too. I love that Xena is such a strong FMC but a little on the klutzy side. I had a hard time putting this book down. There was a few nights that I didn’t get much sleep, but it was worth it. I can’t wait to find out what happens, especially after that ending. This was a great installment to the series.

Absolutely love Love LOVE this series so far. Like, even my boyfriend vaguely knows what’s going on in it bc when I’m not reading it, I’m talking about it. The main character is snarky, clumsy, and amazing, and her men are all flaws and imperfect perfection. The story itself so far draws you in, and the cliffhangers make you want to throw the book then hug it. I cannot wait for the next book but also know I’m going to be sad if it’s the last one.

I so love this series! Xena is an amazing character that is so skilled and yet so clumsy! Poor thing definitely needs her inventory! This book was just as amazing if not more than the first book. She goes through so much and I find her internal musing hilarious!

The guys are in for some hard lessons that’s for sure cause I’m positive she will get them back! I can not wait for the next book!! She has grown so much and even though that cliff hanger ending was no where near as bad as the first book it still makes us want to beg for the next one!
