I was born and raised in a small town in Boston, Massachusetts. My love of romance movies greatly influences my work in writing paranormal, science-fiction, dystopian and contemporary romances filled with action and adventure. In my free time I enjoy singing karaoke, watching movies, and playing with my cat Charlie.
It was okay...Y'all know I'm not really into YA. Jade will test your nerves sometimes but her donor!! Man! The good thing is that the story is fast paced with alot going on. If you enjoy YA...this one is for you. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.
Wow talk about fast paced, this was insane. Never a dull moment in this exciting SCI-FI, romance.
There are so many characters, but it mostly revolves around Jade. A human girl who is turning 18 soon. She has been in foster care her entire life as her mother abandoned her as a baby.
She receives a DNA test kit as a Christmas gift from her foster family, and uses it in the hopes she may have some long lost family members out there. Boy was that a mistake!!! Her biological father isn’t human, and isn’t entirely sane either. As soon as he is aware of her existence, he arranges for her to be kidnapped and brought to him.
He is Nerethian, an alien race that is dying out, due to another alien race called the Jantons, releasing a plague that specifically attacks Netherian women. Killing them or making them incapable of having children.
He is utterly evil and spent 12 years on earth fathering many children. Mostly females which must be brought to him at the age of 18, all so he can sell the females off to the highest bidders.
There is so much more to this story and I urge you to check it out. Like I mentioned it’s fast paced, making it difficult to put down.
My only negative would be at times it was hard to follow, I often needed to go back and reread some bits. There is just a lot of information about powers, races, characters and back stories, But I must say, this in no way spoiled my enjoyment and I’m thoroughly looking forward to reading more.
This is very much a story of girls that have no voice and are tricked into hating and competing with each other, when if only they could band together they could stand united. Girl power!
I have so many questions and can’t wait for them to be answered in the next book Captive Prince.
The main characters don't know who they are, how they are coonected, where they are from, or what powers they have, so as they find out, the reader does also.
Multiple characters with multiple emotions and powers lead to a thrilling YA novel where spats and arguments between YA girls abound, and happen on Earth, on a long space journey and on other planets.
With mention of harems and selling of daughters there is a YA tingle without there being anything specific, even though there are cases of falling in love with your soul mate, so if it happens, it's in the mind of the YA reader. Brilliant book and yet again showcasing the imagination of the author.
Book two in this series is apprently due later in 2022 and is already on my tbr list.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I liked this book. It was quick, kept you on your toes, and for the most part I didn't want to put it down. However, there are multiple points of view, which normally I'm ok with but considering there are SO MANY characters to keep up with in the book I kept reading in some areas even though I wasn't exactly sure who I was reading about. Some of the actions of the main characters did not make sense to how someone would normally react in a situation, but that was minimal. I really think that the author made those odd decisions in the beginning to set the stage later on, it just didn't jive for me though. Be that as it may, I would probably pick up the next book to find out what happens next.
I was gifted this book from the author through Voracious Reader. I will say I had a difficult time getting into the story simply because parts of it took place on Earth but involved different alien groups and I had problems keeping up with them at first. Also, I think reading the kindred series messed with me a little. But once I got into the drama going on with the alien aristocracy I got right in and read for hours only to realize I'd reached the end.
Very intriguing story with intricate plot twists and backgrounds. Ill be reading the whole series. I have to find out what happens with Deric and Sheena and Jade and the prince.
I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, however this book is really very good. I enjoyed all the different personalities of the characters, even though there are so many characters that it at times it got a little confusing. But ultimately this is the story of many siblings coming together under their alien dictator of a father who spreads his seed like the Mormon's do, only to auction off his progeny to the highest bidders. Only with magic and madness on every page. I can't wait to discover the outcome of this story in the next book. Note: If you're looking for a romance or anything erotic, you will not find it in this book.
The summary is initially what pulled me into this story. A girl whose father is an alien and learns of it through some 23 and Me equivalent. Totally interesting. I love multiple POVs from the start of series because if something happens to one of the characters you don’t expect it. (I’m still not over the Divergent trilogy only being in Tris’ POV until book 3. I could see that ending from the moment Four narrated.) I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
DISCLAIMER: I received this book via VoraciousReadersOnly. All my thoughts are my personal opinions.
Ancestry test... but make it alien abduction. Jayde thought she was getting a holiday gift. Instead? She’s kidnapped by aliens, thrown into a cosmic power struggle, and told she’s key to a creepy breeding program. No big deal. Except Jayde’s not the damsel type—she’s got sass, strength, and a few surprises of her own.
Captive Treasure is wild, witty, and unapologetically out of this world. If you like fierce heroines, unexpected twists, and sci-fi with attitude, beam this one straight to your TBR.
A great read. Finished way too soon and now I have to read the next one to see how the story develops. Sisters that are half human and half alien brought together by there evil father who impregnated all their mothers. They are taught to stay alive they must obey and they are all suspicious of each other. As the story unfolds they slowly trust each other and will hopefully come together to defeat their evil father.
This fast paced fantasy was creative. The main female charectar Jade was an intelligent young woman who finds herself to be something more than she could have imagined. She is kidnapped and sold off which begins her journey to save not only herself but those she cares about. I enjoyed thisbstpry of manipulative alien races fighting for control and survival. I am looking forward to the next book. I recieved an ARC for a fair review.
I had a hard time reading this one, i found it had to follow. I had no idea whose POV I was reading at times. The only POV I liked was Jade’s and it was hard to follow too. I would have liked to have read this entire book from Jade’s POV but I understand why there were multiple POVs. I just wish it had been easier to follow. There is definitely potential in this story.
It's an interesting story about alien human hybrids surviving their evil father. The daughters are interesting and gifted. Shocking sometimes the events that occur in this book. These women all work together against their father. It is interesting to read.
I really like the uniquiness of the story about alien human hybrids. I liked the most the POV of Jade, the daughter of the alien father, who is the main character.
I love loved, this book , the surprises are endless , it's fast paced , family conflict to put it lightly. And a engaging read from start to finish , I hope there's more of this coming.
It was well written and i couldn't stop reading until the end. I love the characters as well continue writing will like to read more. I will probably read it again.
