Fabrice Hadjadj
84 books68 followersFrench writer and philosopher. Born in 1971 to Jewish parents of Tunisian heritage. Atheist and anarchist during his teens, he maintained a nihilistic attitude for most of his twenties until in 1998 he converted to Catholicism. His book "Réussir sa mort: Anti-méthode pour vivre" won the Grand Prix catholique de littérature in 2006. Currently he teaches philosophy and literature in Toulon.

Nuevo libro del autor Fabrice Hadjadj, y nuevamente un libro muy interesante.
No se trata de un libro de autoayuda para ser buen padre, trufado de consejos típicos, sino que plantea la figura de San José como hilo conductor de un ensayo que es muy original.
A partir de lo poco que conocemos de San José, Hadjadj reflexiona sobre la paternidad en el mundo de hoy, con las dificultades actuales, y muy pegado a lo práctico.
El aspecto positivo del libro es que combina a la perfección el enfoque teológico y escriturístico, con las situaciones del día a día, que seguro que todo padre ha vivido.
La parte más negativa, y esto es completamente subjetivo, es que el ensayo es corto; da gusto leer a Hadjadj, así que el libro podría haber sido el doble de largo que seguro que no hubiera perdido interés.
Una de las grandes virtudes del libro y del autor es cómo conecta muy diversos relatos de los libros de Antiguo Testamento, poco conocidos, con los Evangelios del Nuevo Testamento y la vida de Jesucristo.
En resumen, un libro muy recomendable para padres o no padres, que ofrece unas reflexiones sobre la paternidad y el mundo actual muy sugerentes.

Recently I became a father. This is the job nobody prepares you and no mater what you do you are always having a feeling like you are doing the wrong thing and that you are not up the task.
So I started reading what the Bible says about fatherhood and spirutual catholic books. Then I came across To be a Father With Saint Joseph and instantly borowed it. I always pray to Saint Joseph and God to give me strenght to be good father, and to give strenght to other fathers of the world because world of today needs good fathers more than ever.
I really liked this book. It gave me new perspective on Saint Joseph, silent and strong father to Jesus. Author often quotes the Bible then gives uniqe perspective to the text. Saint Joseph was so much more that we percive him, he was smart, strong, hardworking, silent craftman from the line of David you just need to read betwen the lines to figure it out.
What to say about the the guy who raised king of kings.
I recommend this book to everybody!

Even though I have no intention of ever becoming a father (mother, yes), I felt inspired to read this title.
One, I really like St Joseph - "the quiet saint of loud deeds"!
Two, I've been recommended this book by a young man, young husband and father I respect - my cousin. He intrigued me by saying that he especially appreciated how the book's narrative style speaks directly to men, how it is written in a literary style best suited to and aimed at men.
I do like looking at the world from other viewpoints, so "Alright! Let's check it out!" (also, challenge).
I think he might have been onto something, for the writing style didn't quite suit neither me nor my cousin's wife. Too jumpy, at times impassable, for my taste. Oh well, I grasped the most of it and found some thoughts, some sentences which I am grateful for - since they unexpectedly addressed my own current inner qualms. So, hmmm, have I found them or did they find me? :P

Interesante ensayo sobre la vocación de padre, recorriendo la vida de San José, padre de Jesús.
Con la exuberante manera de escribir de Fabrice Hadjadj, va recorriendo los aspectos que conforman la figura y la misión del padre, recurriendo a sus experiencias personales, la literatura y la Sagrada Escritura.
En una época en la que la figura del padre está tan denostada, es muy refrescante leer un ensayo como este.
Delicioso regalo, el que me hicieron mis hijos el dia del Padre.
Con la exuberante manera de escribir de Fabrice Hadjadj, va recorriendo los aspectos que conforman la figura y la misión del padre, recurriendo a sus experiencias personales, la literatura y la Sagrada Escritura.
En una época en la que la figura del padre está tan denostada, es muy refrescante leer un ensayo como este.
Delicioso regalo, el que me hicieron mis hijos el dia del Padre.

Torno da Fabrice Hadjadj dopo libri che mi hanno entusiasmato e altri che mi hanno lasciato un po' indifferente.
Questo si colloca a metà tra i due estremi, con alcune idee interessanti ma con veramente troppo poco spazio lasciato a San Giuseppe.
Stile sempre scorrevole e divertente, conenuti a volte un po' ripetitivi.
