The plot and conversations were nothing short of amazing. I absolutely love reading about his perspective - from solving mysteries to sharing various advice to others along the way. It knocks on my heart and mind to think about these matters.

เป็นเรื่องสืบสวน คุโนโทโทะโนกำลังทำแกงกะหรี่อยู่ คุณตำรวจก็มาเคาะห้องบอกว่า ที่ใกล้ๆ มีคนถูกฆ่าตาย ตำรวจพาโทโทะโนไปสอบสวนที่สถานีตำรวจ และก็มีหลักฐานที่มัดตัวเขาโผล่ออกมาเรื่อยๆ แต่เขาสามารถไขคดีนั้นได้ แถมคลายข้อสงสัยหรือเรื่องในใจของคนอื่นๆได้ด้วย จะบอกว่าโทโทะโนเป็นคนที่พูดไปเรื่อยก็ได้555 แต่เป็นเรื่องที่มีน่าฟังนะ เป็นคนช่างสังเกต มีความคิดและมุมมองที่แตกต่าง ฉลาดพอตัวเลย เล่มแรกเพิ่งจบ 1 คดี กับคดีนึงมาครั้งเรื่อง แต่แบบทำไมต้องเกิดเรื่องตรงวันที่ทำแกงกะหรี่ด้วย อยากรู้คดีต่อไปเลยว่าจะเป็นวันที่ทำแกงกะหรี่ไหม555

Il primo volume di questo manga mistery/thiller è suddiviso praticamente a metà: nella prima, conosciamo il nostro protagonista, un ragazzo dallo strambo nome che frequenta l'università e che, suo malgrado, si trova ad essere accusato di un omicidio che non ha commesso.
La parte più interessante di questa prima metà del volumetto è, appunto, il nostro protagonista, Totonou. La sua intelligenza e la sua dialettica sono incredibili: stare dietro ai suoi ragionamenti è pressoché impossibile (e lui lo sa bene!). Insomma, è un protagonista estremamente interessante.
La seconda metà del manga prende una piega molto più coinvolgente, interessante e adrenalinica, sbalzandoci dentro a un'avventura che vedrà Totonou all'interno di un autobus sequestrato. E in finale? Una bomba! Mi ha lasciato tantissima voglia di continuarlo, perché ha preso una piega davvero inaspettata, che getta su tutta la vicenda una folle aura di mistero.
Ammetto che lo stile di disegno non mi abbia fatta impazzire: i dialoghi e la caratterizzazione dei personaggi sono sicuramente i punti forti dell'opera che mi ha lasciata piacevolmente sorpresa e molto curiosa sul continuo degli avventimenti!

Not my favorite read in the last period.
I was bored during some parts, while in others it was captivating.
The main problem I had was that the main character does really not shut up a second.
The manga is very heavy texted because of this and sometimes I was so done with him.
And the thing is that everything revolves around this behavior because is thanks to this that the character was able to continue his journey.
I didn't really understand what the plot is so far, I'm kinda confused if I think about it.
What I know is that it was fun reading how people surrounding him react when they are around him.
I definitely need another volume to decide what to do with this series...

February 16, 2025Fin dal primo capitolo si capisce subito che questa serie è completamente diversa dalle precedenti di Tamura: niente ambientazioni apocalittiche o avventure che ti tengono con il fiato sospeso bensì uno strano miscuglio di poliziesco e slice of life che permette di osservare la società e l'animo umano. Sono molto curiosa di vedere come proseguirà la storia e se anche questa serie diventerà una delle ultimate favourite come Basara o 7 Seeds!!

The conversations Totonou have with all of these characters are so interesting. It can come off as too philosophical but get me,these conversations need to be talked about and i found it refreshing to read.

J’avais déjà entendu parler de Yumi Tamura de par mon chéri qui avait lu 7 seeds. De mon côté, c’était une pure découverte, mais une sublime !
Totono est un étudiant très solitaire. Alors qu’un soir, il ne pense qu’à une chose, se préparer un bon petit curry, tranquillement, voilà qu’on sonne à sa porte. C’est la police, qui lui pose des questions sur un camarade de classe. Ce dernier se serait apparemment fait tuer. Totono étant seul la veille au soir chez lui, il n’a personne pour le confirmer et on lui demande de venir régulièrement au poste pour l’interroger.
Mais étonnamment, Totono est très calme. Il vient régulièrement, se faire interroger. Ce dernier ne se rend surtout pas compte à quel point il est observateur et que ses réflexions sont très profondes !
J’ai été complètement bluffé par ce manga qui a frôlé le coup de cœur ! Je ne m’attendais pas à grand-chose, mais le personnage de Totono m’a mis une belle claque. La profondeur du personnage, sa maturité, son calme, les réflexions qu’il se fait son vraiment étonnante et sublime !
Le manga nous entraîne dans deux chapitres, plutôt longs, mais qui sont tellement captivants, qu’on ne les voit pas passer. Je suis déjà impatiente de retrouver Totono, surtout que le tome 2 se termine d’une manière si frustrante.
En bref, un premier tome que j’ai adoré. Je ne m’attendais à rien et j’ai été surprise de A à Z. Un titre qui vous surprendra à coup sûr !

Move over, Sherlock. Totono is here, and he's just as good at observation and has even worse people skills.
This book is a bit of an odd duck, but I feel that way about most of Yumi Tamura's work, Basara excepted. The story begins when a college student is murdered near Totono's apartment and the police are oddly fixated on him being the killer. Through days of interrogation, Totono flips things on their heads by pointing out things about the cops that they think are secret, winning a few over and annoying them all. Needless to say he's better at solving the case than they are, which is probably a good thing since in the second of the book's two very long chapters the bus he's on gets hijacked and the hijackers are very good at hiding what's going on. Totono presents as possibly being on the autism spectrum without it being A Thing in the story, and if Tamura's art isn't my favorite, it more than gets the job done. I'm looking forward to reading more of this and hoping (for my friends) that it gets an English release eventually.

Ülkemizde yavaş yavaş yer edinen josei türü mangalara farklı bir örnek. Gizem çözme üzerine bir hikaye olduğundan epey diyalog ağırlıklı bir sunum var. Özellikle ilk bölüm bir polis merkezinde geçtiği için başka türlüsü olamazdı. Ana karakter yer yer Sherlock yer yer mandıra filozofu olduğu için okurken daraldım. Eşek kadar adamların on sekizlik çocuktan nasihat istediği, çocuğun hayatı ne kadar da çözdüğünü dinlediğimiz kısımlara katlanmak zordu. İkinci bölümü ise beğendim. Ufak bir gerilim ve belirsizlik dahil olunca hikaye bir şeye benzedi. Karakterimizin daha az sinir bozucu davranmasının da katkısı oldu.

This is great! I would love for her to write another sprawling post-apocalyptic epic like 7 Seeds or Basara, but this is good, too. I'm looking forward to volume two, especially since this cut off at a real cliffhanger!

J’ai immédiatement été attirée par le graphisme tout à fait atypique du personnage principal de ce nouveau manga et par le résumé qui me promettait un manga dans la veine d’un Sherlock Holmes moderne.
On est directement plongés dans le vif du sujet quand Totonô est accusé du meurtre d’un ancien camarade de classe. Pour résoudre ce mystère, il va passer énormément de temps à être interrogé par la police et, petit à petit, se lier avec les inspecteurs et les laisser lui raconter leurs secrets.
Personnage un peu bizarre, il va parler, donner des conseils, beaucoup écouter, émettre des hypothèses et réussir, sans bouger de sa chaise, à démêler à la fois l’intrigue autour du meurtre mais aussi les petits tracas des membres de la police.
Sur de longues pages, on a le temps de faire la connaissance de Totonô et, s’il continue à garder des mystères, j’ai adoré la façon de l’auteur de nous introduire à lui et à sa façon de penser, lui qui semble si solitaire dans sa vie personnelle. Il peut sembler étrange, hautain, un peu à la limite de l’excentrisme mais il est un bon gars qui, au delà de cette affaire de meurtre, pose un regard très juste sur les gens qui l’entourent et sur la société en règle générale.
Et les choses continuent dans la deuxième moitié de ce premier tome où Totonô est cette fois enfermé dans un bus où il est pris en otage.
Cette intrigue est à suivre mais on a tout de même le temps de faire la connaissance des autres passagers, notamment de Shô, qui me parait très mystérieux.
On est dans un titre très bavard, mais qui correspond à quelque chose que j’aime particulièrement puisque je suis très friande des énigmes policières mais aussi de ce personnage un peu à la marge, qui se lance tout le temps dans de grandes digressions qui peuvent sembler hors sujet mais sont toujours pertinentes. Je me suis donc régalée à faire la connaissance de Totonô, ce héros si étrange et si franc, et j’ai très hâte de lire la suite de ses aventures.

Quelle magnifique découverte! Le style des couvertures, et le personnage un peu particulier, m'a longtemps fait hésiter... Et pourtant, c'est tout à fait mon style d'aventure! J'adore les intrigues policières, avec un personnage atypique qui réfléchi beaucoup, comme Sherlock Holmes. C'est tout à fait cela, mais dans un univers japonais.
La mangaka ne se gêne pour critiquer les travers de la société japonaise: que ce soit la faible implication des pères avec leur enfant; la santé mentale qu'on néglige quand on est une victime; le terme "combattre le cancer" qui implique que le malade a "suffisamment combattu" ou pas... Totonô (le personnage principal) fait cela de façon neutre, en interrogeant tout simplement la personne devant lui, il sollicite leur avis; mais au fond, il change toute leur réflexion en faisant cela!
Pour certains aspects (ayant trait aux kanjis ou à l'étymologie), c'est encore plus savoureux quand on connaît le japonais, ce n'est pas une série évidente à traduire en gardant toute la richesse. Mais cela n'empêche pas de savourer les huit-clos qui se mettent en place, et la façon dont Totonô résoudra les choses.
À noter que la fin du tome 2, le tome 3 en entier, et le début du tome 4 couvre un long arc qui se déroule à Hiroshima (celui qui a été adapté en série live). C'est une bonne chose à savoir pour les gens qui préfèrent lire une histoire d'un bout à l'autre (c'est mon cas).
Voilà, c'est un coup de coeur, j'espère que j'en aurai convaincu d'autres!

This is a FANTASTIC start. I love crime fiction that focuses more on the emotional resolution of a case than the whodunnit and conversations that take place in enclosed spaces—so far, Mystery to Iunakare definitely hits the spot on both fronts. Also, the manga is simply very comfortable to read; I appreciate the clean lines and clear paneling. Why didn't I pick this up sooner?
Our MC, Kunou Totonou, has some pretty interesting philosophies and behaviors (actually, he lowkey reminds me of Gintoki in that regard... it's not just the perm lmao), and the second chapter marks the appearance of Kumada Shou, who looks like he stepped right out of an early 2000s BL. He and Totonou are so fruity already?? The part where they casually made plans to see each other after the hijacking is over sent me into oblivion. I hope Shou becomes a recurring character because I NEED to see more interactions between these two. Excited to see how the bus-jacking resolves in the next volume.

Quelle surprise !
Je ne savais pas trop à quoi m'attendre avec ce manga, l'autrice nous plonge rapidement dans l'action et surtout dans les ennuis de son héros Totono. Le premier chapitre m'a beaucoup étonné par la richesse et la modernité des thématiques abordées (boy's club, travail domestique effectué par les femmes, l'excès d'importance que les hommes vouent au travail, leur désintérêt pour leur famille, etc.). Niveau intrigue, l'autrice va jusqu'au bout de son concept avec des révélations en cascade. C'est super bien joué de sa part.
La seconde histoire est très prenante aussi, avec un suspens bien géré et une galerie de nouveaux personnages qui ont sûrement beaucoup à dévoiler mais on reste sur un cliffhanger. Dommage que je n'aie pas le tome suivant sous la main. ^^;
Au final, un premier tome très surprenant par son concept (mystères à huis clos) et par la qualité de sa réalisation.

TW/CW: murder, death, corruption, and strong language.
False accusations? A bus hijacking? Free ethics lessons? What a great read! I love a good philosophical manga that also has a hint of mystery. The MC is smart and endearing. Of course, I am bound to love him. Meet Kunou Totonou, everybody! His deductive skills are admirable.
The theories he presented based on his observations of other individuals astonished me (especially the part about raising daughters.My jaw dropped because it made so much sense). Totonou is a well-mannered and well-intentioned individual who offers guidance based on facts rather than opinion. By the way, this series is licenced to have an English publication!!! There’s also a drama adaptation. I'll put it on my list for now. I will be continuing this gem.

Excelente historia para quienes crecimos disfrutando Detective Conan y Sherlock Holmes.
Es un manga único, muy denso y con muchísimo texto pero que lo disfruté un montón.
Su protagonista es muy interesante y a lo largo de la obra nos hará reflexionar a través de sus diálogos y sus diversas opiniones acerca de una gran variedad de temas. El dibujo es muy simple pero hermoso y expresivo al mismo tiempo.
Mi más grande admiración por su autora, no debe ser fácil escribir y dibujar un manga como éste.
La amé a más no poder y ya quiero seguir leyendo los misterios en los que se verá involucrado Totonô.
Es un manga único, muy denso y con muchísimo texto pero que lo disfruté un montón.
Su protagonista es muy interesante y a lo largo de la obra nos hará reflexionar a través de sus diálogos y sus diversas opiniones acerca de una gran variedad de temas. El dibujo es muy simple pero hermoso y expresivo al mismo tiempo.
Mi más grande admiración por su autora, no debe ser fácil escribir y dibujar un manga como éste.
La amé a más no poder y ya quiero seguir leyendo los misterios en los que se verá involucrado Totonô.

July 18, 2025Vol. 1: 4⭐️Sehr netter Auftakt einer Serie, auch, wenn das Geschriebene im Gegensatz zu anderen Manga überwiegt. Mir gefällt das, auch wenn ich keine Mystery-Maus bin. Außerdem möchte ich jetzt Curry Essen. Ich war kein Fan von dem ersten Akt, aber die anderen “Fälle” konnten das einfach ausgleichen.
Vol. 2: 5⭐️ Ich habe den Szenenwechsel nach Hiroshima sehr begrüßt und es ist auch interessant, dass Totonos Skills auch in alltäglicheren Situationen zu tragen kommen können. Sehr spannend und berührend.

A delight to read a new series by Yumi Tamura. I really wish Viz or anyone would license this title in English, but considering no one’s picked up 7 SEEDS even though it got that Netflix show (I’m curious how that happened — has it been popular at all?), I guess this series probably hasn’t got a chance. Bummer. My Japanese is gonna have to get a lot better to keep up with these plots…!
I was marveling at how entertaining it was to read a story that was largely about a man with puffy hair sitting at a police station and just talking — or listening in on other’s conversations. I think it could be hard to pull off for other authors, but something about Yumi Tamura’s story telling style never fails to suck me in. Can’t wait to read more!

At first, I felt I wasn't going to like the manga. The beginning is a bit slow and confusing, especially as Totonou starts conversations that seem out of place.
But as soon as I got the hang of the story, I started to enjoy it.
The second half was faster paced, and I couldn't put the book down. It ends in a cliffhanger, and I will definitely continue to the next volume.
Overall, after you pass the first moment of confusion, it's a very good story and totally worth a try!

Me ha gustado muchísimo. Cuando me la recomendó Rosita a mí y a las chicas nos habló tan bien que quería leerla, así que poder hacerlo en castellano y con traducción de Maite Madinabeitia es un lujazo ya que el manga es denso (mucho diálogo), aunque su lectura no es pesada (que sí larga). Pinta muy bien la estructura del manga ya que parece que cada capítol va a ser un caso en el que Totonô (aka el Detective pelocho) se va a ver involucrado.

Questo primo volume è molto introduttivo e ci sono tantissimi dialoghi. Il primo capitolo, finalizzato a scoprire il colpevole dell'omicidio di cui Totonou viene accusato, consiste in una serie di dialoghi che avvengono al chiuso. Anche il secondo capitolo è praticamente tutto parlato. Però il protagonista mi piace molto e il finale lascia intendere che ci sia molto da scoprire quindi leggerò con curiosità il prossimo volume

ดูละครมาก่อนแล้วจึงค่อยมาอ่าน นับถือคนแปลเรื่องนี้จริงๆ เพราะน่าจะแปลยากมากแน่นอน เป็นแนวสืบสวนที่สนุกและเปิดแนวคิดอะไรหลายๆ อย่างเลย ราคาต่อเล่มถือว่าแรง และไม่มีอีบุ๊คด้วย แต่แปลดี ส่วนตัวคิดว่าคุ้มค่า

Che bel primo volume! Una storia molto dialogata, ma mai noiosa, tratto molto essenziale ma studiato, veramente un gioiellino, il protagonista è veramente adorabile. Leggetelo, che in Italia c'è penura di josei.

Current read: Book 4
The plot is so good, it is about a normal college student who was questioned as a murder. I love the main character so much, there are so many logics in the books that I really enjoy.
