MIDAS
I’m the man on top of the world
But an enemy is forcing my hand
Leaving me with an unwanted bride
Her smile is innocent
Her past is not
My men and I will do everything to ruin her,
Own her,
Break her
WINTER
I’m a princess on the run
Marriage may not be the answer
But I'm willing to take my chances
To finally be free.
But passions leads to lies
Pleasure leads to pain
And the biggest one of all
I’m addicted to their TOUCH
In body, mind, and heart

Bales Bedtime Stories...where fairytales meet the mafia world. Touch is book 3, so it will end in a cliffhanger, that's a given and I knew it going in. What was expected? The cliffy, obvs. The great characters. We've gotten sneak peeks of Midas in Hooks books..but Dayum! What was unexpected? The way Sarah took the story... the characters, the twists! Loved it!!
Sarah's writing is captivating, it's enjoyable, it's hard to put down. If you always knew SOMETHING was missing for the Disney edition of Snow White then let Bale's Bedtime Stories show you the "adult" version.

DNF - Finished 100% of book one and 7% of book two

**Major Spoiler at the bottom of the review**

Y'know... I was willing to look past the fact that the mmc's LITERALLY torture the fmc in the first book... for MOST of the first book. I got through it. I was here for it when they came out the other side but.. it kind of felt like Midas was still using Winter to get revenge since EVERY time they had s3x he would figuratively (and literally I think..) throw her aside like a piece of trash and walk away. Like.. uhm.. what? I was willing to overlook TORTURE.. okay? I'm damaged just like you since you are looking to read a dark af book. But when it comes to treating women like nothing after s3x, that's where I draw the line. It's too much for me. Meanwhile the fmc is all "I shouldn't let him use s3x but..." Like.. but NOTHING? She has NO sense of self worth. Like.. just continues to let him abuse her I guess.

"Lowering my head, I keep my gaze trained on the sink faucet as he seeks his pleasure." This is literally while the man is taking her v1rginity in a dirty restaurant bathroom without really warming her up or anything because he wouldn't listen to her. It's sick.

"My head lowers and I try to swallow down all the emotions threatening to spill out. He still things s3x is going to fix this. I know it won't. But when he pulls my panties aside and presses the crown of his c0ck against my opening, all thoughts leave my mind." pg 21.

There is literally NO affection, care, or love. This book is full of selfish and abusive men.

Also... the second book starts out with Winter seemingly plotting against Midas? Working with someone else? It doesn't even make sense and I can't stand books with a third breakup and I just KNOW Midas is gonna find out and punish her.

Sarah Bale, the Queen of the Cliffhanger, has done it again! Think Snow White reimagined complete with the man with the golden touch (or is it?), the Hunstman (yes! THAT Huntsman), and an unexpected interpretation of Doc (hint: there are no dwarves, this IS NOT The Mouse’s version) in Bale’s Mafia-centric Chicago we’ve come to love from Hook’s story. The character development in this story, carried forward from Captive and Hooked, is incredible. If you crave strong female heroines & damaged heroes both fleeing from their pasts, coupled with suspense & intrigue infused with intensity & steam, you are going to love this story. And yeah, you think you know who to root for, but do you really? I couldn't put this book down! I knew Touch was going to be a cliffhanger going in since it’s book 1 of Midas and His Princess (Book 3 in Bale's Bedtime Stories), but I wasn't expecting how it was going to be one. It’s not your typical “oh no, will he live or die” plunge off the cliff, nope…. Plot twist! And I can’t wait to see where Bale takes the characters, and the reader, with book 2.

Henchman is sent to kill this beautiful Mafia Princess Winter Nova. She is a "normal" college girl and he thinks this will be easy, till she gets under his skin and all of a sudden she realizes he isn't who she thinks he is. She gets away and goes to Chicago with her best friend. Low and behold this is where King Midas lives the underground King and her families number one enemy. The henchman tells Midas what happens and Midas takes over this task, and kidnaps Winter. What better way to get back at your enemy than to marry into the family. What happens when plans don't go to plan? What happens when feelings get involved? What happens when your enemy and his men fall for you and you might feel something too?

THIS BOOK! HOLY MOLY DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!! Midas and his men fall for what is to be like Snow white! This inspo story was incredible! I am living for the bed time tales! I was so curious on this story when we were getting Hooks story so I am glad to see what was going on during the time back in Chicago! I cant wait for book two!!!

Midas and Winter

I totally enjoyed the Hook and Company series and Goldie and the 3 Behrs.I never expected the first 60% of this first Midas book to be revenge and cruelty.Winter is the daughter of Midas' worst enemy so he kidnaps her ,almost kills her from starvation and hypothermi a,the entire time telling her she will die.I almost didn't finish it, I had to go read something else to lift my mood. This started out so bleak and mean. The end is a giant question mark.I guess i will find out what Winter is really up to in the 2nd book. The cliffhanger just made me say " What?" I am hoping things aren't so cruel ,hurtful and full of the betrayal the last page of book 1 insinuates.I gave all the previous books of this series 5 stars each.Hopefully the conclusion of Touch can match them. Here' s hoping...

Touch is a great continuation of Bale's Bedtime Stories and journey into Chicago's north side - Midas' territory. Midas is brutal, ruthless and erotic. Together, Winter and Midas are explosive.

The twists and turns, the development of the characters to the amazing plot line had me on an emotional roller coaster. If you love suspense, mystery, drama, intrigue and thrilling elements, with a level of intense sexual heat that is scorching, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait for Part 2.

Well that took and unexpected turn...

I jumped into the Bale’s Bedtime Stories series with both feet with book one… Hook and His Darling and fell in love with the series concept and Sarah Bale’s story crafting.
Touch and the rest of the series are Dark, Romantic, Twisted, RH, Mafia Fairytale retellings that push boundaries and force you to fall in love with the grown-up versions of your childhood favorites. If you skim these stories, they will make you angry, this is true of most Dark Mafia Romance. But, if you savor them slowly, you’ll catch the nuance in the banter, and the story beneath the story. These fairytales are not for the faint of heart, reminding me more of the Grimm originals than the colorful Disney counterparts. Fairytales at their best are cautionary tales, and Bale’s tales are that and more.
This series edition like those before it ends in a deadly cliffhanger, which those familiar with Bale’s other series expect. This one though is twisty and promises an interesting journey before this couple’s story is complete.
