Zero is a master hacker but, like the majority, he struggles to earn enough money to live comfortably.
With most people living in tiny, overpriced apartments in mega cities, also called hot boxes, it's hard to live comfortably, especially when crime is rampant. Police only protect the ultra wealthy. Everyone else fends for themselves.
Zero is either hacking into the Innerverse or getting chased by assailants--usually because of his dangerous work. Data is what Zero is always after. It's no different for mega corporations that hold all the power, even power over governments.
Maccoby Corporation gives Zero a job that could either make Zero extremely wealthy or end in his death.
The Future Zero series contains 30 minute long episodes.
