I just want to play baseball, but unless I seek out some help that won't be in the cards for me. I'm not sure what I expected when my father made arrangements for a tutor, but it definitely wasn't her. I should know her. Everyone in town knows her family and their story. But until she rolled her eyes at me, I hadn't noticed her before. I don't know what to do with myself, because now? The girl who's spent so long faded into the background of this town is someone I can't unsee. I want to protect her. But more than that, I just want her. But I'm not positive that's in the cards.
Athletes needing my help, to qualify to play, isn't anything new. I've been academically coaching varsity since I was a freshman. But never in my wildest dreams would I have anticipated this particular offer. Malcolm Kade is an all-star shortstop, arrogant prince of the castle, and son of the mayor. And I'm pretty sure that while he has ties to my family, he didn't even know I existed until his father hired me. Now, fading into the background is impossible because of his proximity. Being caught like a deer in headlights, on this town's social radar is not what I wanted. Now that I'm here though, I can't help but wonder: will it be worth it?
P. Roper is a word junkie & caffeine enthusiast, born and raised in Western Canada. When she’s not writing (or reading) you’ll usually find her with her husband, chasing their hurricane of a daughter. Or she may be grabbing a coffee with her best friend. She loves NA Romance but is convinced that there is no way she could actually choose a favourite trope.
* Small town * High School * Baseball player/tutor * "Secret" dating * Opposites attract
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Malcom is your typical popular jock, star shortstop and the mayor's son. He desperately needs help to quickly improve his grades in order to play baseball this upcoming season. Lennox is the eccentric, prefers to hide in the background type of girl, but she is the best tutor the town has to offer.
It's All Fun and Games is written in first person, dual POV, but occasionally the chapters events overlap being read from each character's perspective.
Overall this one just wasn't for me. The plot was all over the place and the banter and silly nicknames like "Frenchie, Bubblegum and Tooth Fairy" felt immature and the overall writing felt very juvenile. I had to keep reminding myself how young these kids are. This is not a clean romance. The spicy scenes felt awkward, and I am not sure if that was because of their ages or if it was because of how quickly the characters dynamics changed.

if you're looking for a romance book with some spice to read in between, this book is one of those that i can suggest to you.
i enjoyed most parts of the book although since the characters are students, there are moments where i can't really relate to, which lessened my enjoyment for the book. i'm also okay with spicy romance books but there were some spicy parts here that i think are not necessary with the plot anymore.
there were also some parts that were left unanswered for me like why is melissa such a bully - what was her history with malcolm? i just felt like i needed more to their story.
overall, i still enjoyed reading and getting to know the characters and i'm hoping to see more of the twins' stories in the next books.
thank you for the author for providing me an ARC in exchange of my honest review.
This was my first P Roper novel and I really enjoyed it. I really liked the progression of Malcolm & Lennox’s relationship and I loved the mutual respect and love that grew between them. I read at the end that the author was possibly going to make the book into a bully romance and I’m so so glad she didn’t. She did not keep the book bully free but I think I would have been left broken if Malcolm treated Lennox poorly at any point. Lennox is such a gentle soul who has suffered allot but has focused on herself and her family and been successful doing so. I really didn’t understand what Melissa’s problem was with Lennox in the book, but I suppose in the real world who the heck knows why people treat others the way they do. She was just a nasty piece of work. I loved the Grey family the girls and Cody are such a solid unit and love each other so much it’s nice to read. I really liked how Malcolm was so protective of Lennox and his feelings didn’t really seem to waiver he was a pretty solid kid! All in all I really liked this book and read through it pretty quick which is always a great indicator!
Thank you to the author P Roper and Romance me with books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book as a book tour stop for romance me with books.
A fun, angsty, teen romance that is a great new adult romance. When we first meet Malcom and Lennox, they could not be any more different. Throughout this book, their friendship blooms and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters while they fall for eachother. It was equally cute and entertaining and helped to set up future stories!
Malcolm is a star baseball player that is in danger of losing his eligibility to play due to bad grades. Malcolm's father, the town's mayor, hires another high school senior, Lennox, to tutor him. Malcolm is not interested in having a tutor or studying, but there is something about quirky, pink-hair, hippie-dressing Lennox that sparks his interest. Before long Lennox has Malcolm on a strict schedule and he's making progress. But the gig does not come without problems. Bully cheerleader Melissa, who Malcolm had a one-night stand with, is jealous of Lennox and Malcolm spending time together. She and her minions set upon Lennox like the mean girls they are. When Lennox and Malcolm finally get together, they don't know how to define their relationship, which causes friction between the two. Can an intelligent outsider and a popular athlete beat the odds and have a happily ever after?
I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked it, but there were definitely things about it that didn't work for me. Weirdly, even though the book is only 237 pages, it felt long to me. Yeah, I know. Odd. Lennox is a combination of tough and vulnerable that is probably more realistic than teenagers in other books, but for some reason it just didn't work for me. Lennox's support system consists of her two cousins, grandmother and best friend Cody. Her cousins and grandmother are intelligent, strong and fierce women. In certain circumstances Lennox is just like her cousins - frank, tough, decisive and out-spoken. But at other times she freezes and is timid, mute, and indecisive. Perhaps it's because the swings between the two personalities is so extreme that it seems forced to me. Melissa's character is not well defined, so we don't really understand her extreme animosity toward Lennox. A "one and done" didn't feel like enough motive for her reign of terror. Also confusing and unrealistic was Malcolm's ignorance of the enormity of Melissa' bullying, and his ineptitude in handling it and protecting Lennox.
Malcolm initially acted like a bully toward Lennox, explaining that it was to protect her at school, but it just didn't sit right with me. There have always been teenage mix-matched couples and this should have been no exception. I felt the author leaned on the enemies to lovers and mixed match couples tropes too much. The eventual growth of the characters and their relationship toward the end of the book seemed rush.
I will say that I really enjoyed the banter between Lennox and Malcolm. Some of their conversations made me smile and were fun to read. The premise of the book is tried and true and a good idea. Certain tropes were well executed, but others needed work. The author definitely has promise and I enjoyed reading a little bit about the next book of the series.
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Romance Me with Books and the author. All opinions are my own.
“It’s all fun and games until something catastrophic happens, isn’t it?”
It’s All Fun and Games is the first book in the Avernus Greys series by P. Roper. There is a prequel novella you can get for free by signing up for the author’s newsletter!
This book follows Lennox and Malcolm. Malcolm is barely making it through school, his only passion is being on the baseball team. But realizing that he may not by able to further his baseball career without improving his grades, Malcolm’s father hires Lennox to tutor Malcolm in an attempt to improve his grades. Sparks quickly begin to fly between the study buddies but the social circles of high school may not allow them to be more than friends.
I loved this book. As the weird book girl in high school who was always dressing in strange clothes, I saw myself so much in Lennox. I would have had her bright pink hair if I didn’t have to deal with a dress code. She is so structured in school, her creativity comes out in other ways and I loved it. I also loved how Malcolm came off as cocky at the beginning of the story but ended up being a cinnamon roll. The trope of Malcolm being the popular guy and Lennox being the weird girl was done really well and seemed realistic for the setting. Also one of my favorite things in a book is when one character reads a book out loud to another character. That is such a love language to me and when it shows up in this book, it’s perfect.
One of my favorite things about this author is how she manages to involve a third act conflict into her book that doesn’t revolve around silly miscommunication. I know the conflict in the last part of the book is necessary to add tension but so many books have me rolling my eyes when it comes out of nowhere. I also think the glimpses we got of the other characters was enough to introduce them but not so much that the story didn’t focus in our main couple.
This isn’t a dark romance by any means but it does have some heavy topics so be aware of that before going into this book. That being said, I think the characters’ reactions to events in this book was really well done and even though it hurt my heart, I enjoyed being along for the journey! I can’t wait to see how this series goes!
“It’s all fun and games until something catastrophic happens, isn’t it?”
It’s All Fun & Games follows Malcolm, a star HS baseball player, and Lennox, a quiet, smart girl who prefers to stay in the shadows. She is also a school tutor as well as part of the town’s founding family. Malcolm needs to get his grades up in order to stay on the school’s baseball team. Lennox is offered a tutoring job by Malcom’s Dad, the Mayor of Avernus, to help get his son’s grades up. They both couldn’t be more opposite, so neither of them see it coming when they start to enjoy each other’s company. They quickly become friends, and so much more, during their tutoring sessions. For reasons you will have to read the book to find out, they don’t make their feelings known to anyone at school except those that are very close to them. A series of events occur that lead them to realize that they have to start being honest and finally admit to themselves, as well everyone else, what they knew for a while.
“Nah love, I won long before this game. I won when you took the offer.”
There is great world building and phenomenal character development!! I fell in love with all of the side characters in this story and cannot wait for them to tell their own stories and see them get their well-deserved HEAs.
From what I read in the author’s note at the end of the book, this story was supposed to be quite different but the characters wouldn’t allow P. Roper to write them that way. They had their own idea in mind and wanted to be heard. I’m so glad the author listened!!
Don’t wait, start The Avernus Greys series now and fall in love with the Grey girls and the guys that love them!! You can get a free ebook of the novella, It’s Just For Now, by signing up for the author’s newsletter. Just go to her IG page and click the link in her bio to sign up.
As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner): DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I read this book as part of a Book Tour with Romance Me With Books.
This is the first book I’ve read from P. Roper and it won’t be my last! I really enjoyed this story. I usually don’t read NA or YA romance, but the blurb, tropes, and cover caught my eye and I just knew I had to try it!
Malcolm Kade is a senior who lives for playing baseball. Unfortunately his grades need improvement in order for him to be eligible to play. His father hires another senior, Lennox Grey, to help tutor him and the story takes off from there!
I loved this story! Malcolm and Lennox’s chemistry drew me in from the very first page. I loved their banter! All Malcolm wants in the beginning is the ability to play baseball his senior year. That’s the only reason he’s putting any “effort” into this tutor thing. Until he gets to know Lennox. I loved watching them get to know each other and fall in love. I may be old fashioned, but I loved that the sex between Malcolm and Lennox had meaning behind it. It wasn’t just to scratch an itch.
I loved the scenes we got with the side characters: Malcolm’s dad, Lennox’s Gram and sisters. Ace ad Jo, Cody, Grant. You’ll just have to read this book if you want to know who they are. 😉
I am most definitely interested in seeing what P Roper has up her sleeves in regards to Jo and Ace’s books. Based on the last chapter, it’s obvious who the next sister that gets a story is and I am really curious as to what she has been up to.
Thank you to Amy from Romance Me With Books for providing me with an advance copy.
Malcolm is a great baseball player but his grades have started to fall enough that he wouldn’t be able to play all. In a last ditch effort to make his father happy and to get his grades up, he gets a tutor. Lennox has been a student in the same school as Malcolm but when he meets her,he has no idea who she is. They are complete opposites. Where Malcolm is a popular star athlete, Lennox is a pink haired, long skirt wearing honors student on the path to a great college scholarship. Their forced time together allows them to grow into a beautiful friendship and eventually finding love. I gotta admit that I spent a lot if time hating Malcolm. He is very entitled and there were certain points where he clearly bullied Lennox although she made it clear that he needed her more that she needed him. Their time together affects Malcolm though, opening his eyes to more that just what is on the outside. He does redeem himself which is what makes their story worthwhile. The one thing that I struggled understanding was how parents/caretakets of these teenagers would allow sp much freedom for their teenage children to have their bf/gf/other spend the night in the same room under their roof. Perhaps it’s just the generation I grew up in where parents were just more reserved to allow such things to happen but I will admit I struggled to relate to this. Roper successfully continues in writing another series that reflects on the changes of the teenage mind and how the human spirit can be strong even through those teenage problems.
P. Roper’s It’s All Fun and Games utilizes the tutor/athlete trope in this NA romance set in high school.
Star shortstop Malcolm Kade needs some academic assistance, and quickly, or he won’t be eligible to play ball. Lennox Grey is the best tutor out there, and she isn’t even remotely charmed by Malcolm’s antics. Soon, though, their simmering mutual attraction becomes too strong to deny, and the consequences that follow will either strengthen their bond or destroy it completely.
Fans of this trope might find some enjoyable moments in this book. Lennox is the epitome of the quirky, do her-own-thing protagonist, and Malcolm definitely fits the jock who falls for the quirky girl first mold. So if you like those archetypes, you’ll probably enjoy this story. I, however, found the narrative to be pretty disjointed. It felt like it wanted to be bully for a minute, but then sort of backed off of that. Yet, Malcolm’s initial and continued inaction against the girls actually bullying Lennox was puzzling. I also think that the dialogue felt stilted and old-sounding, especially since the protagonists are supposed to be teens.
The premise hooked me, but the execution didn’t grab me. I do credit the author for creating secondary characters that are super interesting who I want to know more about. And I love that Lennox had a female support system, instead of being a sort of “pick me” stereotype.
I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Lennox has spent her life staying in the shadows. That all changes when she is tasked with tutoring Maclom. He’s the start baseball player. His father has insisted he raise his grades. When he first meets Lennox he is enraptured with her. She is unlike anyone in his circle. The fact that he does not know who she is despite years of being in the same class does not go unmentioned.
Due to high school drama they must keep their acquaintance secret. During their study hours they grow closer. Each confined deep hurts to the other. They begin a relationship but again due to high school drama they keep it under wraps.
This is a good coming of age high school love book. Nox and Malcom are sweet. They deal some pretty heavy things together. Not family is so interesting. There is so much going on with them throughout the book. You become invested in each other their lives, even though this book central characters are Lennox and Malcom.
There is some intense bulling scenes in the book. Be prepared. The mean girls of high school are vapid and I would venture to say criminal. The twist at the end is one that was wholly unexpected but satisfying still.
Malcom attempted to be a jerk at the beginning, but throughout you see that is really not his nature. He wants to protect Lennox and comfort her when she needs it. Lennox has been self sufficient despite family surrounding her.
There is an opening to the next story at the end. I am so excited for Ace’s story.
📚Romance Me With Books- Book Review📚 “It’s All Fun & Games” by P. Roper Star rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spiciness level: 🌶️🌶️ Tropes: jock & nerd, friends to lovers, secret romance
📚Review: Fans of Colleen Hoover will devour this irresistible love story! Malcolm Kade, big shot jock and son of the local Mayor, needs to get into college, but his grades are making that a more and more unlikely scenario. So his father decides to hire a tutor. Enter Lennox Grey, the pink haired smart girl who always wears long skirts. How has Malcolm never noticed her before? Their tutoring sessions get off to a bit of a rough start, but neither of them can deny their chemistry. Follow Malcolm and Lennox as they begin to form a friendship and, soon, something far deeper.
This book reminded me a bit of Forever by Judy Blume mixed with Colleen Hoover small town romance vibes. While it takes place in high school, the spice of the book is more catered to adult romance readers. To me, it read like a spicy YA novel. The conflict at the end was unique and strengthened Lennox’s and Malcolm’s bond, and it even came with a surprise twist! The epilogue made way for a follow up tie-in that centers on the other Greys. I highly recommend if you enjoy YA romance, Colleen Hoover, and any of the tropes listed!

Ms. Roper gives us a high school sports coming-of-age romance that is sweet but at the same time pulls on your heartstrings. It's All Fun & Games is about an athlete, Malcolm, who is the mayor's son, the one the girls want but is about to lose his place on the school baseball team because of his grades. Lennox is an intelligent, shy, likes-to-stay invisible tutor that has been hired to get Malcolm's grades up. Both of their backgrounds could not be any more different. He is privileged and she is living with no parents with her gram and cousins. Their interactions are anything but nice at the beginning. Their tutoring sessions find them becoming closer and closer and a friendship develops that blossoms into much more. Unfortunately, when the mean girls see the two of the talking, things do not well for Lennox. Will this tutoring be worth what she has to endure? What happens when feelings get involved and caution is thrown into the wind? This book is very relatable and deals with real-life situations that anyone would find in any high school. Ms..Roper did an outstanding job of grabbing my attention right off the start as I could associate with Lennox and wanting to stay invisible. With this being the first book in the Avernus greys series, I am guessing that the remainder of the series will be one that you will want to add to your TBR list.

You also get some great side characters that we can’t wait to see how they play out !!!! ⚾️small town ⚾️ high school ⚾️ opposites attract ⚾️ jock/tutor ⚾️ secret dating (so they think 🤣) This is written in duel pov and sometimes the events overlap causing our brains to be like didn’t we just read this 🤣but honestly we never thought to stop reading🖤
It's All Fun & Games is a fun start to the Avernus Greys series and this is Lennox and Malcolm's story.
Malcolm is the all-star athlete and son of the Mayor, but he's struggling to maintain his grades in order to keep playing ball. When his dad hires a tutor, Malcolm surely doesn't expect Lennox, the pink haired girl that he's somehow never noticed. Now that he has noticed her? She's all that he can see.
Now, this story does deal with some more serious topics, but it never really felt overly heavy. There is a some drama and angst, but for the most part, I felt that this was a lighter read. There were a few conflicts which are so common with this trope that I kept expecting to pop up, but they never did, and I found that to be so refreshing. I adored Malcolm and liked Lennox too. I loved the secondary characters here and there was one in particular that I thought I'd not like (again based on this typical trope), and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it wasn't the case with this book.
Although this is a high school romance, these characters are 18+ and there is quite a bit of steam in their story. I was drawn in from the beginning and my attention was held throughout, and I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series.
~ This is a book stop tour for Romance Me with Books ~
It's All Fun and Games by Proper was an okay read. I liked the teenage romance because it felt authentic. Neither of the MC'S knew what they were doing or where the relationship was going. They were confused about what they were feeling and their feelings lead to rash decisions and irrational motivation. However, both characters needed to be developed more. They weren't flat but they were more 2 dimensional.
I didn't quite understand why Melissa was an extreme bully. She was a tool Proper uses to push the story along but it didn't feel natural. I can buy into her pettiness but I had a hard time believing she would resort to physical harm. There was no evidence or justifiable reasoning for her actions.
This story doesn't have a lot of exposition when it comes to the characters backgrounds and the towns history. There is a lot of reading between the lines and assuming. Which become bad for reader orientation. It was hard to be grounded when I felt I was missing details.
A very cute coming of age tutor athlete romance. It's All Fun & Games is the first book in the Avernus Grey series.
Malcolm Kade is the star shortstop for his high school baseball team, and son of the mayor. Malcolm wants to play baseball in college; however, his grades are not there.
Lennox Grey, the best tutor the school has to offer, a quiet studious girl, not known by many except her family, is asked to put everything aside in order to help Malcolm.
Thier were parts that I really loved about the book and then there were parts I was confused about, not really understanding were it was going. With it being set in high school, we see the bullying and the different groups of students. With Malcolm the jock who falls for the Lennox, his status, and just being seen with her brings attention to her, but what gets confusing is how Malcolm handles it, he wants to protect her but acts one way in public and then another when they are studying. He is there for her when she needs him.
Overall, I enjoyed reading it, I really liked the main concept, and the characters were great. I love the setup of the characters which will allow for a transition into the other books. I am interested to see where the series leads.
This is our first book by P. Roper and we are looking forward to what Avernus Greys series brings.
The first book is about Malcom and Lennox. Malcolm needs to up his grades to be able to keep playing baseball and to do that he needs a tutor. Lennox is the best tutor in the school so Malcolm’s dad employs her to make his grades the best he’s ever had. They are both completely opposite but you know what they say opposites attract.
We’ve rated this book a 3 star because we had to be honest and we was a little confused with the storyline and have so many unanswered questions regarding it.
We didn’t find it spicy apart from the vibrating tongue bar which we was very intrigued about.
We are looking forward to reading about Aces book and what’s going off with her.
We are also hoping after reading it’s just for now that Jo and Grant get a full book. Has we would love to have their full story.
We are also intrigued about Cody so would love his story too and see where his head is at with the 3 girls.
We was provided an ARC for this series and have given our honest review.
Happy Reading
⚾️ Sports Romance 🥰 NA Romance 🏘️ Small Town Romance
This book took me back to my teenage days of angsty, new adult Wattpad romances.
Lennox & Malcom’s story is a sweet and spicy mix of angsty chemistry and coming of age, set to the back drop of high school in a small town.
Their story starts off as a jock x nerd dynamic, the star of the baseball team, and mayors son, needing help from the "quirky" nerdy girl to graduate and qualify to play baseball.
But as they get to know each other, we see all the struggles of trying to fit in and trying to fly under the radar play out in their relationship dynamic. Malcom is unsure of himself around her, yet instantly overprotective, and Len has an outward confidence but struggles to be vulnerable.
While their pasts and their trauma were not something I had personally experienced, I could relate to the way this novel portrayed the teenage experience. There was drama and angst, but there was also vulnerability and growth.
I enjoyed this book. It was a fast-paced, moderately spicy NA romance that, as someone well into their 20's, provided a lot of nostalgia, laughs, and even a few moments of heartache.
The premise of It's All Fun & Games is cute, and the characters a likable. Lennox and her cousins are quirky, march to the beat of their own, type characters. While Malcolm and friends are the popular high-school jocks. Lennox is hired to tutor Malcolm and opposites attract.
For me, it seemed like the author wasn't quite sure what she wanted to story to be. In the beginning it was shaping up to be a bully romance but quickly morphed into a boy determined to protect his girl. The couple needed to hide their romance because an over-the-top female bully didn't like Malcolm being friends with Lennox. The bullying seemed a bit extreme for the situation, and it seemed odd that a popular jock and a strong-willed female main character would cower and bend to the tantrums of an uninvolved third party. There were some strange focus shifts throughout the book that I think were meant to set readers up for the next book in the series. They didn't seem well integrated into the story which made their inclusion awkward.
So overall, the story was entertaining. I liked the characters but wasn't sold on the plot.
Oh look another family I am invested in after reading book one.
Book one in the Avernus Greys focuses on Lennox and Malcolm. Lennox has had a challenging life but she has been focused on doing well and school and avoiding unnecessary drama. That is until she is asked to tutor Malcolm Kade...the mayors son.
Malcolm is struggling in school and his dreams of playing for a division 1 college is hanging in the balance. But thankfully his father has a plan...get him a tutor who can dedicate enough time to help him succeed.
The initial interactions between Lennox and Malcolm are filled with uncertainly as both can't seem to figure out the other one. But once they start getting to know each other sparks fly.
P. Roper created such complex characters with Lennox and Malcolm. Lennox was raised by her grandmother and struggles with feelings of abandonment. Malcolm is struggling with grief after losing his mother...and doesn't really know how to let people in. They both seem to be exactly what the other person needs. But can their fragile relationship withstand outside scrutiny?
This has a lot of tropes: small town, opposites attract, jock/nerd, secret dating. It was a quick read, but it was kind of swinging all over the place. There were a lot of extreme plot points that happened fairly quickly, and the ending seemed rushed. Things suddenly wrapped up very quickly with not very much explanation on very big events. There are a lot of spicy scenes, and that always makes me feel awkward when the characters are in high school. I guess they are both 18, but still. It did give me CoHo vibes, though, so if you like her romances you should check this one out!
Malcolm is the star player in his baseball team, but he needs to get his grades up to graduate. The only way he can do that is with a tutor. Enter Lennox, who has been in the same small town as him their whole lives, but he who he never noticed. His dad is the mayor and gives her an offer she can’t refuse to tutor him. But when they are together, they learn more about each other as well as the assignments he needs to learn.
TW: bullying, addiction, death
I was given an eARC of this novel to review, all thoughts are my own.
⚾️ I could drown in this moment and be good with it being my last.
P. Roper was a new to me author when i signed up for this review tour with RWMBooks. And i seriously can't wait to read more!
When they say opposites attract that is truly the case for Len & Mac! They couldn't be more different from the outside but together they are perfect for eachother. Malcolm is the Mayor's son and his High School's baseball star. Lennox is the quiet outcast that sticks to her books. But when force together, his grades are slipping and she's hired by his father to be his tutor, they slowly become so much more! They bring out the best of eachother. It's All Fun & Games is a prime example of how we all come from different walks of life but our person is out there. And we find them it won't always be easy but if we fight for the ones we love it'll damn sure be beautiful. I loved watching their love story unfold. Watching them grow both individually and together. Support each other and learn to lean on one another! Can not wait to read Ace's book next! 💗
It’s All Fun and Games is the start to the Avernus Greys Series. It’s Malcom and Lennox story. It’s also my first book by P. Roper and now I’m hooked.
It’s All Fun and Games is a cute story but it has moments of heavy stuff. Malcom is the hot shot baseball player who needs a tutor. Lennox is that tutor. They are completely opposite from one another but their chemistry is hot. I immediately loved Malcom from the first word he spoke. Their is something about the cocky boys in books I love. Lennox she’s a sweetheart. She surprised me most in this story. She’s quiet. Keeps her head down but when she needs to speak up she can do it.
After reading the novella to this series It’s Just For Now I was drawn to these characters. There is something mysterious about these Grey Girls that I need more from. I need to know their story and I can’t wait to get more from them.
This is easily a 5 star read and one I highly recommend. It’s one you will not want to end but the ending is so very sweet.
“’I’ve got you,’ he promises” *** This was my first book by P Roper and I really enjoyed it! I think that the jock/smart girl trope is always super fun and I definitely love a good sports romance. Lennox was such a fun character and definitely a fairly relatable character. I really liked the individual characters and the storyline. I also thought that a lot of the difficult topics discussed in this book were written well and handled really well. I also think that the author did a really good job of navigating the ups and downs of being a teenager in this book. The book is also not super long so it is a pretty quick read. I did find that there were times in this book where it felt a little slow and I wasn’t completely hooked but the story always picked up and got me engaged again. P Roper also did not skimp with the spice, which is always a plus when it comes to romance, so I appreciated that. Overall, I think this book is definitely worth a read and I think that those who love the jock/smart girl trope and sports romance will really love it!
Really enjoyed this one. Lennox and Malcolm are completely different from one another but still work well together and have a lot of chemistry. I found their relationship to be very sweet.
Two things surprised me while reading which made me like the book even more. One is that I was expecting Malcolm to be mean and an a hole but he was really sweet and very understanding. The second thing is that I was waiting for Lennox to snap and put her bully in her place but she didn't. Even though I wanted her to do that the entire book I appreciated the fact that the author didn't make her do it cause it would have been out of character for her. She was a sweetheart the entire book.
Overall the book was good. The side characters were freaking amazing. Definitely need to read about them all.
Tasked with the impossible, Lennox needs to secure Malcom with passing grades so that he can play baseball and qualify for college. The catch? No one can know. Thus begins a tale of secret romance, forbidden love, desperation, trauma, and heartache.
It’s All Fun & Games is perfect for lovers of coming of age romance, with a little bit of spice, and the push and pull of teen love convinced they can’t have it all.
If you want a little bit of trauma in your teen drama with the HEA every high schooler dreamed of then P. Roper has just the book for you.
Featuring : ✔️ school bullies ✔️ tutor/student ✔️ jock/nerd ✔️ found family ✔️ mommy issues ✔️ character death (side) ✔️ smells like teen spirit
Perfect for small-town and sports romance lovers. I was reminded of a lot of movies I watched when I was a teenager (and now). The most popular guy (Malcolm) in town had to improve his grades to be able to continue playing the sport. If you like such plots, then this book is definitely for you. It was nice to see the main protagonist transform from a daring and unpleasant villain into a sweet and caring character. What is interesting here is that the character's relationship is a little bit related to the books, when they read them to each other. It was very heartfelt and sweet. Maybe I didn’t have enough adult actions and adult thoughts of the protagonist to make it more real and deep. Overall it was a pleasant quick read.
This book was a lot longer than I anticipated but there’s nothing wrong with that. I enjoyed how the story unfolded. The character description was great and never left me guessing about how the FMC looked. At first I didn’t realize the characters were in high school, the main characters seemed a lot more mature that your typical high schooler. The only thing that I didn’t like was there were a few sentences that were repeated when they changed the POV. I feel that could have be eliminated and just went on with the story. All in all, I love Mal and Knox’s story line and how strong their bond formed.
It’s all fun & games by P. Roper was a good read. The plot was good, the two main character’s interesting and the secondary characters were good to the plot. I think the plot had some solid points and was interesting in some parts of the story. I really liked the connection between the family members and how they supported and were there for one another and loved each other from the girls and their gram to Kade and Grant. I also liked how much Nox and Mal loved one another. However, i felt some parts were’t delved into much that should have been quite deep and emotional i also think some parts just weren’t for me as a reader and it wasn’t the author or her writing at all just my preference is all.
