This was an interestingly good read by Jessa Kane. I think this is the first one I have read by her set in an office with a billionaire (one of my favorite tropes). Very well written and hot.

Why can’t she write longer books?!?
I would devour them faster than a kid eating candy in a candy store. The devotion her Hs have to their soulmates (h’s) is incomparable. These last couple of Hs have been wanting to unalive themselves for hurting their women 😅. I know… it’s OTT, but man, it’s always fun to read 🤡.
Matthew (31) is a boss and has found a way to buy real estate and make tons of money. He’s seeking revenge for what his parents suffered through years before when they were incarcerated for 15 years. The man to blame is none other than Kaylee’s (21) dad. So he’s going to take the competition through the storm and squash him. Then he finds out that her dad’s sending Kaylee as a temp to work for him, and he’s gonna make sure it all works in his favor 😈.
Kaylee doesn’t feel loved by her parents. They’ve basically told her she’s disappointed them, so when her dad asks her to pretend to be someone else and acquire intel on Matthew and his business moves, she reluctantly agrees, all in the name of pleasing her parents.
Of course, in true Jessa Kane form, as soon as Matthew sees Kaylee, his thoughts of revenge take a back seat, and he becomes OBSESSED. Actually, this is probably the closest book I’ve read by JK where it’s dubcon and goes a little darker 😈😉.
I mean, if my mouth’s saying no but my body’s saying yes, then is it REALLY dubcon🤡? Lol. I love me a bull-dozing H, and Matthew is exactly that 💅 . Kaylee can try to say no, but he has a way of convincing her to submit to him 🥵 EVERY 🔥time 😅.
Of course, the smexxy times are pure 🔥🔥🔥besides Matthew’s dirty talk and 0r@l fixation with her body, we get one of my favorite scenes in V books- the surprise V one 😉.

My God, I can’t seem to concentrate. I don’t understand the odd click that happened inside of me when she walked into this office. Like…my soul was expecting her.
This might be my favorite Jessa Kane book... EVER. I don't think I can explain how much I loved it adequitly.
It has the things that absolutely send me over the edge. I LOVE a devastated hero and a hero that fucks up and has to emotionally pay for it. I get both of those things with Matthew and I am here for it. He was so completely broken. I'm so happy that Kaylee didn't just get over what he did. She left him, and because of that, he suffered. That is the shit that I am here for.
The characters were great and their motivations were deep for such a short read. Yes, there is daddy kink and yes, Kaylee has daddy issues. Matthew even knows and admits it. It was definitely hot and steamy but the other stuff just won me over. I'll be re-reading this sooner rather than later.

This is yet another fast-burn romance novella by Jessa Kane! I loved the enemies-to-lovers approach, and both Kaylee and Matthew are keeping secrets from each other. This is a great palate cleanser after the slow-paced horror novel that I just read, but it's not super memorable.

As usual, another bad Jessa Kane book. And I have read so many of her books, I can count the good ones with one hand only (I think, can't even remember the plots after I'm done). Read this book if you want to check if you know the red flags of a relationship.
I can't review this book without describing my thought process and minor spoilers so:
Chapter 1: 1 eye roll given
Chapter 2: "Who wouldn’t want to slip their fingers into that thick black hair? Mine would probably get tangled and we’d have to use peanut butter to get them loose" Eye roll in disgust, who tf uses peanut butter for their hair?! And insta attraction trope is in action
Chapter 3: Not only does Matthew think he can spank a girl so she can feel "found", he is also a big baby who can't take no for an answer. Cringe line: "My face is the contract and you just inked your signature on it". And he called her by her real name, is that a typo or is she just deaf? Three eye rolls in irritation
Chapter 4: Kaylee is an idiot to keep giving permission to a man just because he coaxed her to. One angry eye roll because where are your boundaries and self respect???
Chapter 5: Matthew thinks he had found his soulmate within 24 hours, I don't believe in that cliche. Too irritated to roll eyes.
Chapter 6: Why go to the park for your hanky panky, what did the trees do to deserve this? And dropping the L-word faster than Thor picking up the Mjölnir, disapproving eye rolls given
Chapter 7: There we have it, the typical fall out. And that too over something so small. Maybe it's time Jessa moves on from the typical "I'll die without you" cringey lines. "The I knew it" eye rolls were given
Chapter 8: Oh this is new, the MC being brought to a mental health facility because of a suicide attempt. But the drama soon ends bc Kaylee faints and Matthew reiterates that he would die without her and she affirms him their hearts would go on strike without one another and HEA.
And oh the sex tape of their first time that she likes to watch alone as foreplay to the next time they do the deed, the fact that he had taken it without her consent and yet she's masturbating to it.
Am I supposed to be irrationally reading this? And be okay with this?
I know for a mini book of 82 pages I should be more lenient but what the heck is with all the red flags?? It's a sin to my conscience if I rate this book high.

Chapter 8: Oh this is new, the MC being brought to a mental health facility because of a suicide attempt. But the drama soon ends bc Kaylee faints and Matthew reiterates that he would die without her and she affirms him their hearts would go on strike without one another and HEA.
And oh the sex tape of their first time that she likes to watch alone as foreplay to the next time they do the deed, the fact that he had taken it without her consent and yet she's masturbating to it.
Am I supposed to be irrationally reading this? And be okay with this?
I know for a mini book of 82 pages I should be more lenient but what the heck is with all the red flags?? It's a sin to my conscience if I rate this book high.

This was a lot. A lot of codependency and troubling behavior but on some level this is what I expect from Jessa Kane. With her books I either find the daddy kink bearable or jarring. In this book it was only bearable because there were other aspects that put me off more. Also, I’m a temp and I wish one of my jobs ended with a rich partner and never having to work again.

Whew. Jessa Kane, the queen of filthy smut.
This was short, and sort of ridiculous, and totally over the top, and completely, wholly filthy goodness.
There was that completely unhinged level of possession and obsession from both characters, as always. Which I for some unhealthy reason find waaay too hot.
There was a tiny little Daddy kink. Just the honorific this time.
Kaylee is a 21 year old virgin.
Matthew is 31.
Plus there’s secrets.
And a video…
So hot.
So filthy.
Definitely OTT.
