About the author

Martha Freeman was born in Southern California in 1956. It is not actually true that pterodactyls ruled the skies then, but her three children believe this.

Martha graduated from Glenoaks Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Junior High, and Glendale High School. Until Martha came along, Glendale High's most famous graduate was a fellow named Marion Michael Morrison. He later went into the film game and changed his name to John Wayne, which you might very well do, too, if you were a boy named Marion in unenlightened times. In 1978, Martha graduated from Stanford University with a degree in history. She remains Stanford's most illustrious graduate if not its most wealthy.

Martha worked as a newspaper reporter, copy editor, substitute teacher, college lecturer, advertising copywriter, and freelance magazine writer before she found her true calling as a writer of children's books in 1994. Her first book was "Stink Bomb Mom," now, tragically, out of print. She has since published 14 more books for children and as you read this, she is probably working on another one. Besides writing and visiting schools to talk to students, Martha teaches occasional classes at Penn State University, volunteers as an emergency medical technician, and works for a wonderful little company called Wall Street Communications. She is a very busy person.

I hated the fact that the main characters boyfriend of only four months has been pressuring her to have sex and pushing her to go further every time they do anything physical from their first date, and her friends aren’t nearly forceful enough in expressing what a tool he is for this behavior. What’s even worse one friend says that the girl most likely hurt his masculinity by continually saying no. This is such a garbage message in a book for teens.

I, for the most part, liked this book. It had a nice story line but the author's writing seemed almost a little immature. I think this book was a little too young for me. Now that I'm older, I need to start reading for my age group. I did like the girl in the story, I could relate to a lot of what she was going through. The ending was the worst part though, it seemed as though the writer was a little rushed because it ended very abruptly. I would recommend this to teen girls because it has some mature content.

To start off, this book catches my attention by starting off saying, "You're probably wondering how come a heterosexual girl with normal hormone levels-me, I mean-would decide to list reasons never to kiss a boy." I also decided to grab it because I mean, I AM a female and I would like to see a perspective from a heterosexual girl on why I should never kiss a boy. Forward on,

This book was rather difficult to read though the first time however once the ending is known it is not, in my opinion a re- read. On the initial read it flows rather smoothly, but after thinking about it for a while and reading the other reviews there are some questions that need to be but are not answered. A cautionary tale for young adults to never take time for granted and for adults as well!

Honestly written and read in a very slow tone. Amazing book but I just didn’t feel like I knew the characters as well as I have in other books. If you’re looking for a new guy to hate. This is the perfect book to get your mind off the real heartbreaker and on to the “dreamy” bagel boy.

This is such a great book if your looking for something cute and fun. It's not too heavy, but it has some great lessons. I loved how close Jane was to her family, and I loved her friends. Each was unique and added something different to the story. I also really loved how much Jane grew throughout this book. It was refreshing to see.

I knew Elliott was a jerk from the start, so I'm glad she didn't get back with him. I suspected she would end up with a certain boy next door, but I'm not mad at all that it happened. I ship it. Also Stacy and Arthur.

The only thing that I didn't like as much about this book was that the climax was unclear until it happened. I would have liked more suspense and problems surrounding the float. But even considering that, I think I'm going to buy this book. I loved it. Overall rating: 4.99 stars.

So when I first checked this book out of the library, I thought I would really enjoy it. But once I actually started reading it... blah! I just could not get into this book no matter how hard I tried. I think I only made it to about chapter seventeen before I gave up, and moved on to another book. To be perfectly honest, I don't even remember what the beginning of the book was about. It just wasn't a book for me.

A book about a girl named Jane, who was hurt and was mistreated, and vows to never get involved with another boy. Why bother, when there are a thousand reasons why it will never be worth it. This book is about her past experiences with her boy problems and the reason why she does not want to get involve with another boy due to her boyfriend cheating on her during her work with her co-workers.

Slightly humorous, though I could not in good conscience recommend this book to anyone.

This is a really good book and i and my friends enjoyed reading it when i was in school. It was an attention holder and a book we could all relate to as young teenage girls. It was funny and entertaining; very humorous and kept us reading and wanting more. i love this book, couldn't hardly put it down.

My 11 year old picked this up at the library, so I figured I'd read it first. Glad I did. It's not for Tweens! There is a sex scene - the girl calls it off, but still...

My reason for not liking it for me? The end was just rushed. Whole book girl is whining about ex, and the last chapter she is in love with another guy.

I picked this up at the library to read while I am waiting for the next of my Princess Diary books. This was a really cute story. I appreciated that the main character and her choice not to lose her virginity, just because some dumb boy was pressuring her.

Predictable. It went all over the place and didn't have a linear timeline. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it was distracting in this book. Plus, the author made intimacy with a boy inevitable if not necessary and that bugged me. I may be too judgmental though.
