ARC review, given this book by author for honest review.
Okay let me just wipe away my tears to write this review as I have literally just finished. It’s one hell of an emotional read!
I am not going to lie I have found it really hard to write this review, please bare with me while I try explain why..
had I not known Savannah from the first book, all she went through, how the first book ended this book would have been so beautiful as a stand-alone.
However it didn’t flow as well as I hoped from book one, at the end of ‘Broken Promises’. Caleb was hell bent on finding Savannah and making her pay, he was lead in the wrong direction by his mother leaving him angry and hurt. The fact we only see Caleb 3 times within the whole book throw me, I expect dual POV again from them both, her trying to stay hidden and him trying to find her.
I had a love-hate relationship with Cole in the beginning, but the more you get to know him the more I fell in love with him. He is a broken man, who lost his wife and daughter while wishing he wasn’t there to feel the pain of living without them. Savannah and Cole keep colliding into each other and it’s inevitable for them to get pushed together.
Will Cole be strong enough to give love a second chance?
Has Savannah been through too much to open up again?
Some of the events within this book literal broke my heart and had me ugly crying. Which again is why I say if it was a standalone between Savannah and Cole I would of loved it so much.
But I did like Caleb in the first and was looking forward to seeing what conspires and unfortunately it didn’t happen for them in this book.
There are a lot of time jumps, that were a bit frustrating through the book but after reading it all I know why they are there. So much happens within this book but when you think of the length of time the book goes over it is understandable.
100% reading the last in the series when it’s out and will definitely be looking forward to more from this author. As I like her writing style it’s romantic, adorable and heavy on the slow burn!! If you are looking for hot and steamy this isn’t the book for you. An emotional, romantic angst filled book then this it good to go.

Book Two: The book started with Nyah, who now went by Savannah, in a small island village where she vowed to start over again. S.A. Thomas did such an amazing job of painting Savannah so differently that reminders of Nyah were hard to find. She was almost gone, spoiler coming — except for one huge reminder— her pregnancy!
Caleb spends time searching for Nyah for the things he thought she did and when he finally found her, the scene was intense!
There’s another twist in book two in the form of the broken, but lovable Cole, who has his own baggage to carry.
I don’t have a clue where the author is going to take Nyah, Cole and Caleb and I love that!!!
So far the main theme of these books aside from the suspense and romance is Nyah’s resiliency. Whatever happens to Nyah/Savannah she’s always going to be on my mind whenever I see the brave women in my life.
Caleb spends time searching for Nyah for the things he thought she did and when he finally found her, the scene was intense!
There’s another twist in book two in the form of the broken, but lovable Cole, who has his own baggage to carry.

This is the second book in the Broken Trilogy and brought SO MANY changes to Savannah’s life. It had my head spinning a little!
Book one was a bit of a roller coaster and Broken Souls is definitely a bumpy ride for Savannah as she navigates her new life following a devastating heartbreak and soon to be mother of 2!
At times, I felt like I was reading an entirely different story! I only say that because, basically, we see her leading an entirely different life in this book and Caleb is a bit MIA. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Cole as a potential new love interest but, he is SO different from Caleb (in book one) and I think he fits with her “new” life. They were both a little damaged and guarding themselves carefully against new love. This book felt a lot more emotional to me than the first. There is so much that Savannah is experiencing: loss of love, loss of trust, a new baby, and so much uncertainty in her future. What Cole and Savannah have with each other is wonderfully heartfelt and also a little heartbreaking at certain points.
This book had a bit of a different pace than book one, at least for me. It was much, much slower. That point sort of leads back to this feeling like a different story; it could have almost have been a standalone with the exception of references to book one. And, I felt like Caleb was always hovering in the back of my mind as I kept waiting for him to come out of the woodwork at some point.
The last thing I will say, without ruining anything else, has to do with the ending. Between Savannah and Cole and all of these open-ended scenarios left up in the air from book 1, there is a lot left to the unknown by the end. I’d be very curious to see how Savannah will move forward and how Caleb fits back into the story line for this series in the next book.

My last read of January was Broken Souls by S. A. Thomas. I'm so glad I had the time to sit and read this in one go because I could not put it down once I started! This was a wonderful continuation of The Broken Trilogy.
Nyah has changed her name back to Savannah and I really think the name suits her. It is wonderful to see how easily she makes friends in her new life. She is as hard working as ever, trying to make a living her her and her little family. I loved watching Savannah work her best and making her own dreams come true while selflessly helping others. The relationship she develops with Jack is so pure and I'm so glad the main character got to have that father / daughter relationship with someone.
I love the main plot for this book. It has a wonderful pace set for getting to know each character without dragging or speeding through. We follow Savannah as she takes on co-owning and renovating a business. Along with the obstacles from work, Savannah has to balance being a pregnant, single mother hiding from her past.
This book took so many turns I was not ready for. The author did a wonderful job putting emotions on the page. Broken Souls brought me to tears. I felt my heart breaking with the characters and loved every word of it.
This book releases on February 8th! If you liked this review I recommend trying this series! Book 1 is already out and this one is soon to follow!

Savannah, who was actually Nyah from part 1 but changed her name, changed her city, changed her job and started living her life from new phase with her 7 year old boy, LUCAS and an unborn child in her womb. Her past still haunts her and follows her but somehow she manages to face it.
Cole, who lost his wife and daughter in a plan crash and he blames himself everyday for his lost. Slowly and steady he is putting himself to the corner of death by becoming an unimaginable alcoholic man.
When everyone left Cole, Then savannah bumped into his life. Can you imagine that she tried five times to talk with him , but he always ignored her and Sometimes yelled at her.

My heart was broken in pieces. It took me a full ass day to process what I've read and I even asked the author to give me a happy ending in the next book. She promised me it would all work out in the end and to be patient and read.
This was a book where the MC discovers who she truly is and what she is capable of. I loved how bold she was in every step she took and how she was strong enough to face the consequences too.
I still missed Caleb Evans though ;)
There's that ending! Prepare yourself guys!! Have a box of tissues and even a pain killer if you cry too much and get a head ache. Because this is gonna be a bumpy ride for you!

Cole was a broken man, who lost his wife and daughter and suffered from pain of living without them. His relationship with Savannah was inevitable and adorable!
She was leading a completely different life than in the first book, so you really feel the change that heartbreak brought her. Savannah goes through a lot in this story - loss of love, loss of trust, a new baby, and so much uncertainty in her future.
Cole and Savannah have a greatly heartfelt (and a little heartbreaking) relationship and I liked their progression into love a lot!
The ending was very surprisng and I can say that I have no idea how this is going to end or hoe Caleb fits into the last book! I can't wait to read how this ends!

This book begins with Nyah who ran away at the end of book 1, we find her in a small village where she hopes to be able to start over.
I was truly heartbroken for Nyah for having to leave the love of her life behind. And I was a little disappointed by the arrival of Cole in Nyah's life, I had a hard time understanding how she could move on so quickly.
Cole is very kind but a little broken and he comes into Nyah's life with his own baggage.
It was very heartbreaking to see Cole go like this after all the ordeal Nyah has been through, she deserves a break poor thing.
But we find out that Caleb hasn't said his last word and hasn't let it go and that gave me hope for maybe a happy ending (cross fingers).
Again, I can't wait to find out what will happen in Nyah's and Caleb life.

Wow, this second book in the series was extremely emotional. After the ending of the first one I couldn’t wait to start the second. After the devastating fate Nyah had faced , she found herself with some hope for the future. And when all seemed to be coming together another heartbreaking event happened.
Her relationship with Cole was ok however I am still waiting for her and Caleb’s HEA and can’t wait for the third book in the series.

This book is OMG! I love that Neyha gets a happy ending but by the end of the book I was in tears. It was soo good I started and finished within hours.

It took me a while to gather my thoughts and finally decide on a rating!
Although this book follows on from the first book, it is particularly from Nyah / Jiya’s side. We meet a new love interest Cole, who is written to be quite different from Caleb.
As with the first book, I really enjoyed the author’s style of writing and I’ll be honest I was unsure about where the story was going as I was genuinely expecting a continuation of Nyah and Caleb’s story rather than the introduction of a new love interest.
What I did enjoy was how the narrative of this book differed so much from the first book; whereas the first book describes almost an ‘introductory’ love, this book describes an ‘experienced’ love.
The miscommunication trope was played with again in this book however definitely not to the extent of the first book.
The ending was surprising and quite bittersweet with yet another cliffhanger!
Those who are fans of Caleb, get a slight glimpse of him towards the end.
Overall, if you go into this book expecting an emotional journey with unexpected but not unwelcome new characters, you will absolutely enjoy this book!

i am a sobbing mess right now. after the first book in this series, i immediately started this one because i loved the story so much. nothing could’ve prepared me for the emotions i’ve felt while reading this book. this story is so insanely beautiful and it’s one that will stick me with forever❤️

we have a happy ending but I cant believe nothing happened to the "mother in law".
Im so against the "forgive" approach because she was the true villain and there should have been more consequences.
You cant live like a happy family after that. So it left me a sour taste but overall it was a very good storyline.
Caleb's character was less mature than Savannah's but in the end there was a growth and he realized how awful and fast to judgement he was being.🥰

Gosh, I love a book that makes me cry… don’t we all?! Like the first book, this second one has alllll the emotions. We go in heartbroken about Caleb and the misunderstanding surrounding the situation, then meet a man recently broken in life, who is then revived and then we fall for the goodness of his heart, only to be thoroughly heartbroken all over again!! Roller coaster, meet the turmoil in my heart caused by this one!!
This is the second time in this series that I’m left wondering how these many feelings could exist simultaneously but it is also the second time that I legit ran to sign up for the next book. Hence, absolutely no complaints! Thank you for letting me be an advance reader again! ♥️

After loving the first book I had a harder time with this one. The storyline was just not going the direction i wanted, but by the end I was glad I stuck it out. The ending was sad but i am still excited to see what happens in the last book!

Heartbreakingly good
I knew going into this series that these books would wreck me and yep, I was right. What I wasn't prepared for was the twist of this book, but it was so good. Make sure to have a box of tissues nearby. You'll want them.

What a good read. Easy to identify with and get lost in! Loved the first book in this series and after reading this one I cannot wait for the third. The slow burn kept me on the edge of my seat and each turn in the plot made me second guess my predictions. Well written! Loved it!!!

Most people aren’t Savannah Flores. Savannah and her son end up moving across the street from Cole. She recognizes him as the sullen man who frequents the Tipsy Cow Restaurant. Despite his fleeing every time she approaches him, Savannah is far too stubborn and driven to give up easily.
I love the dynamic between these characters. I feel like both Cole and Savannah each slowly began to come into their own as the story progressed. They were undeniably themselves, which both of them needed desperately. It was beautiful watching Savannah grow after Jeremy and Caleb. She has lived through so much in her thirty years that would cripple many people. However, she survived and flourished. This is so powerful to witness as a reader. Anyone who has experienced abuse knows how debilitating and haunting it is. S.A. Thomas does not simply give us a success story and leave it at that, she created a character that had to fight. And the life she leads (as the past she left behind) is one she has to wake up and chose to fight for everyday. The realism is what makes this book for me.
Savannah isn’t the only one with growth. A familiar character from the previous book does as well - Lucas. He doesn’t just grow in age and maturity, his love and loses have begun to shape him. The love he has for his mother, sibling and new additions captures both a childlike grace and a young boy finding his footing. I didn’t think I’d warm up to adding in new characters because it can come across as forces more often than not. After the first fourth of the book, I was budging. By the first third, I was invested. There is something natural with how the new characters slide into place that I didn’t know I was missing in the first book. As much as I surprise myself to admit it, I prefer Cole/the new characters and their relationships with Savannah/the kids.

I finished this book in one day. I cried off and on for almost an hour then felt dazed. Samantha, I’d just like to say - ouch. Currently, I am doing what I do everytime I experience this level of hurt from a book which is reliving every single book I have ever cried over and trying to place it based upon my degree of devastation. Nothing like rehashing old traumas while adding in new ones. I loved this story and will be shedding more tears as I think about it in the future months.

Well well! if you have read the first part you will be curious to read the second one. This part is all about heartbreaks, hope, kindness, second chances and not giving up on yourself. This part starts with Nyah being moved away to a small island village and changed her name to Svannah. She has to start over again with her life and this place felt perfect for it. There she met a person named Cole, who was the owner of a resturant which Svannah thought of renovating so that it can have more customers. The restaurant was Cole’s late wife dream and he was just persuing her dream. Cole had his own emotional baggage which he was not ready to share or let go. But with the kindness in the heart of Svannah and her son, Cole’s heart was melted and he felt like he was given another life. Cole’s wife and his only daughter were killed in a plane crash and he was not ready to get over his pain. Well after his rebirth, he truly felt that he was missing on his life a lot. He and Svannah would start sharing their emotional baggage and became so close to each other.
Soon a new love story begins between Svannah and Cole and the kids were all so happy about it as well since they need a fatherly figure in life. They both were so emotionally damaged that it made them so carefull at each step they take in their life specially when it came to love and giving it a second chance. Meanwhile Caleb was trying so hard to find Svannah and get the answers he needed to move on in his life. At every stage he failed to find her but wasn’t giving up. Fate destined them to be together and they eventually met. This book has a very different pace than the first one. In every chapter you see a new thing coming up and story takes a new turn of events. After you finish the second part you start to wonder how Caleb is going to fit back into the life of Svannah with all the things going on with her. Well the good part is your questions are answered in the thrid part. Well if you feel ached for Svannah in the first part, you will be shattered into pieces for her in the second part and you would wonder that how much this woman is going to suffer more before she finds happiness in her life.

I adored the first book in this series and I distanced myself from the completion of the second so my review could make a little more sense this time. This book was a bit more "complicated" for me, but I ultimately did enjoy reading this.
The ending of the first book made me think that this story was going to go in a very different direction. I expected the dual point of view to be from Savannah's (previously named Nyah) and Caleb's as the first was. I expected the two of them to reunite and have some sort of feud with a new man, Cole, caught in the middle. Saying this isn't how the book went might be a bit of a spoiler, but I think it's best if someone goes into the book with an accurate view of the plot, so they don't expect something inaccurate from the book and their perception is skewed.
Even though I was blindsided by this plot, it was a pleasant surprise! It honestly felt very wholesome and I appreciate that. All of the characters were very likable and I wanted the best for each of them, even if I feel like they needed a bit more development.
This book spans more time than the first did, which could often leave me a little confused. There were a lot of time jumps, which I understand, but made a lot of things seemed rather half-baked.
I enjoyed Cole a lot more as a love interest than I did Caleb. Cole to me just seems like a better man, even if he has many demons. Even through the time skips, they have a sweet slow-burn romance. Said romance could have used a little more show not tell, but I still thought they were very cute together and worked out lovely.
I'm also a fan of how great of a person Savannah is. There were times when if I were in her shoes, I would have snapped or given up, but she didn't. I hope to see a little bit more of an imperfect side to her.
Although it may seem like I had a lot of criticisms of this book, I really, truly did enjoy it. I read this in less than a day because I was so invested in it's characters and plot. This was yet another excellently written emotional rollercoaster that I will be coming back to reread.

Broken Souls is another amazing book in The Broken Trilogy. In the first book, I definitely fell in love with Savannah/Nyah and was curious to see what the outcome of the move would be. I absolutely hated the fact that Caleb’s mom managed to lie to both of them and push the two of them apart and was hoping that it would be fixed soon. However, that proved to not be the case with reading the second book.
I will admit, I am not a huge fan of books introducing a new love interest. I am just the type of person that when I get invested in a ship, I just cannot think of either of them being with other people and I normally don’t prefer to read books that do this. However, after reading the second book I can say that I understand why it happened and do feel like being in that new relationship was important for Savannah.
The book was incredibly emotional and it was devastating with what Savannah has to go through. I feel like she has already been through so much and I can’t even imagine going through something else after everything she experienced.
I am excited about the third book though. I really want to know what happens with Caleb and am hoping that the third book will bring him back and more involved. I hated not really knowing what was going on with him. The book itself was incredibly well written and the story continued to be amazing. Good work Samantha!

Crying in a train while travelling isn't exactly my finest moment, but i CANNOT NOT CRY. I'm not okay after reading this, i don't think I'll ever be.
Sav has a new beginning but still fate brings the same thing back to her, it's wrong and I'm super angry. Yes, i liked Caleb more but that doesn't mean i didn't like Cole.
The writing is perfect, the emotions can be felt, there's a story and there's growth in the character's lives. The pain is ever present but living with it is a part of Sav's life now...
I don't have words for a proper review since am emotionally destroyed right now, but I can say that this trilogy is becoming one of my favourites.

I just completed reading this book, and an sure that this will stay in my heart forever.
In life, we met a lot of people. Fall in love a lot of time. But some stays and some doesn't. But the time spent with them are really important and teaches us something. The same happens with Cole and Savannah here. They may not had there happy ending, but the love they deserved, got from each other. But somehow I'm really feeling bad for Savannah. She doesn't deserve to stay sad throughout her life, and it seems like life is not giving her this much of happiness for a longer period of time.
I am literally crying like a little girl after the story completed. The title made the justice.
Now I'm way too eager to learn what happens in the last part of this series.

Another brilliant installment in the broken trilogy...this one really tugs at the heart strings! It was well written, although a little slow in places. S.A is a new author to me and surprisingly it has been a nice change of pace. I am usually all about the steam and dark intense romance and this trilogy is proving more of a slow burn, but i cant help but fall in love with these characters. What S.A does so well is setting the scenes, building tension, and adding so much depth to the characters and the plot! I really am hooked and cant wait for the final book!

This was a good one! Broken Souls is book two in The Broken Trilogy. I enjoyed this book just as much as the first one. In this book you follow Savannah Flores, who used to be Nyah Rodriquez, as she starts life over again in a small island village. This story didn’t go in the direction I expected it to following book one. At times it almost felt like I was following a completely different story and it felt a little disjointed from Broken Promises. With that being said, I still really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to finish the trilogy. I hope some of the topics left open get answers in the final book.

Oh my heart! A romance novel that has so much depth and covers so many real life issues. It’s a beautifully written story of love, healing, and unexpected moments. I felt so many emotions while reading it and be sure to have Kleenex handy. Follow along with Savannah aka Nyah as she navigates life and love. Her strength and perseverance are so admirable. I wish I could tell you more but I don’t want to spoil anything. You will definitely want to read Book 1 called Broken Promises before reading this one.
