Cowboy Ethan Wilder tends to keep leftovers in the fridge longer than he keeps the women he dates around. But Poppy Van Clief, the misplaced city girl who crashed into Bitter End, seems as immune to his charms as she is wary of his family name, which might be exactly why he's not going to rest until he gets her.
Welcome to Bitter End, TN, a small town that is about to feel the heat. So are the men of the town’s founding family, the Wilder brothers. Because three broken-hearted women on the adventure of a lifetime stranded in the middle of nowhere can ignite plenty of passion… and maybe even spur these consummate bachelors into love.

It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.
What a perfect story to read on a rainy day! I loved the chemistry between these characters. Poppy and Ethan overcame their initial opinions of each other to come up with a plan to enhance the family business. I loved how the author developed this relationship through the story. It’s a fantastic read and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
Cat Johnson once again created the best connections with the characters of Poppy and Ethan. You could feel the love in all of the people in Bitter End. Loved this story and everyone in Bitter End.
Ethan usually has an easy time getting someone to go out with him but has to work harder than ever to get Poppy to go out with him. Poppy come from a wealthy New York family and is never sure is people are friends with her because there actually like her or because of her money. Then because of what happened with Emmet, she doesn't trust her judgement in men. Will Ethan be able to convince her he is sincere and not just after her for sex? Will she give in to him? When there is a misunderstanding, Ethan gets mad and refuses to talk to her so she goes back home but will she stay in New York?
I have really enjoyed the first two and can't wait to read the next one. I'm not sure why. The story is good but I've read better. She is really knows small towns and close families. There are very few extra characters but they stay to the outer edge. I do recommend you read them in order. The stories will stand on their own but you miss out on details. Trying to summarize the story is very hard for me. I find myself retelling the story or retelling the book preview. Both have been quite well.
I liked this book, and hope there is more to this series than just these three, like. maybe William, the dad or Payne I read them out of order but they still worked for me. Liked the paired characters they are natural, with spice, sassiness and likability. Though at first Ethan' s character was abit shallow.
Poppy and Ethan total opposites, society born and bred, cowboy though and through, both come from money buttttttttt don't flaunt it, jeans vs high fashion, tight nit family and over bearing not close family, to once in a lifetime love, they just click after getting past "the snake" Emmitt issues, awesome continuation in this series, thank you, Dana Zamora
Another wonderful book. Poppy was a super cute character. Ethan was a playboy cowboy with a man about town reputation of loving every woman in site. Together they were exciting and endearing.
A good read to fit in with the series, it was entertaining. Poppy and Ethan, an unlikely pair who make it work. It read slower than I like. Suggest to read in order though each can be a stand alone.
It's an easy read, Some family drama, safe and quite romantic, They seem a little juvenile but it was nice to read. I think this is my first for this author and I'm gonna read the next,
I love the background story of this series. 3 women cat-fished by the same man team up to find him and exact their revenge. Book 2 is Poppy's story. It can be read as a stand alone but you will want to read Book 1 if you haven't already. Poppy comes to Bitter End and decides to stay when her friend falls in love and Poppy is offered a job.It is there that she finds herself attracted to Ethan Wilder, a known ladies man who Poppy tries to avoid. Cat takes is on a journey of self discovery. corporate espionage and true love. A great read.
