Sweet with Heat: Bayside Summers #2

Sweet Passions at Bayside

Rate this book
Fall in love in Sweet with Heat: Bayside Summers, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod.

When Emery Andrews’s best friend, Desiree, moves away, falls in love, and opens an inn all in one summer, she feels her absence like a missing limb. Until she visits over the holidays and meets sinfully hot Dean Masters, who’s as easy on the eyes as he is to talk to. After returning home, what starts as a flurry of late-night flirtations quickly turns into a deep connection and unexpected friendship. Now, months later, Desiree offers Emery a job teaching yoga at the inn. Adventurous Emery jumps at the chance and heads for Wellfleet, Massachusetts, to reunite with her BFF and her new close friend, Dean.

After months of sharing their lives, and their secrets, over video chats and phone calls, Dean’s ready to move things to the next level. The fact that Emery seems oblivious to the sparks between them and has recently put her foot down about dating friends just means he’ll have to bide his time.

When Emery finds a man in her kitchen the first morning she’s there, Dean doesn’t hesitate to move her into his guest room. Maybe now Emery will see what’s right before her eyes–although that guy she’s got a date with might be a problem.

Sweet Passions at Bayside by Addison Cole is a lovely, fun, romantic read and I loved it.

From the first few pages I was hooked, I enjoyed the storyline, it was well written, the plot held my interest and watching Emery and Dean fall in love filled me with joy.

Dean and Emery are wonderful, relatable characters that I easy connected with. I loved their friendship, their honesty and just how sweet and loving they were together.

description

Another plus was getting to revisit with the previous characters we've grown to love from the previous Bayside books.

Sweet Passions at Bayside is a lovely addition to the Sweet with Heat: Bayside Summers series and I highly recommend it.

We met Emery in Sweet Love at Bayside and seeing Desiree fall in love and decide to stay, Emery has decided to take the plunge also and up sticks and move to Bayside to be beside her and work in the resort doing yoga classes. Emery and Dean became close after Desiree’s wedding and both of them have been talking for months late into the night getting closer and closer with each call. Emery sees Dean as her BFF as well and is so comfortable around him that it makes the chemistry even stronger.

Dean would love nothing more than to show her what a relationship with him could be like, but she is reluctant as she always ruins her previous ones and doesn’t want to cross that line with Dean for fear of losing their amazing friendship at the same time.

Will she give Dean a chance and let him show her how good they can be together? Or will she ruin it before things get off the ground?

Desiree has found a stable life in Wellfleet, and she asks her best friend Emery to come and work with her at the inn. Emery is excited to start a new phase of her life, both with Desiree and her amazing new friend Dean.

Both Dean and Emery are hot for each other, but Emery has rules about dating friends after some past problems, and Dean is technically her boss. Will they come together to explore their love or is their relationship doomed?

I loved the continuation of the series in this book. The characters are fleshed out nicely, and I loved meeting their friends throughout town and at the care home.

I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Addison Cole had me swooning again, this time with Dean Masters from the Bayside, because why not? A gorgeous man cooking up a storm in the kitchen sure does sound sexy to me. Emery Andrews may have just found her newest friend, and boy, was she clueless about this guy's attraction to her!

What really made me love this newest story from the Bayside Summers is, Emery and Dean started out as friends and cultivated deep enough to form a one-of-a-kind relationship. As a yoga instructor, Emery is passionate about her self and doesn't mind speaking what's on her heart and mind. Being with Dean who's a major contrast to her character, brings out the best in her. And vice versa. They have this dynamic relationship with impassioned feelings rolling off their chests. One can't help but feel good and get ecstatic as their chemistry hits off the charts.

As always, whenever I feel somewhat lonely and stressed, I can always count on Addison Cole aka Melissa Foster to bring a smile to my face and shivers to my spine. My sons tell me I look like the hearts-eye emoji  whenever I read romances, and I sure love that look on my face. Can't wait to read the next book! For sure, it's gonna be another sweet and steamy one. Care for an ice cream, anyone?

Dean Masters is a sexy, creative guy that co-owns Bayside Resorts with Rick and his brother Drake. Emery is Desiree’s best friend that has decided to move to the area to offer yoga at Desiree’s bed and breakfast, as well as, at Bayside Resorts. When they met almost a year earlier while Emery was visiting Desiree, Dean and Emery were immediately drawn to each other, quickly became friends, and have stayed in touch daily with phone calls and texts. But now that Emery has moved to the area, Dean is ready to move forward from being friends to much more.

There is not enough praise and words of love, admiration, lust, etc. for how I feel about the yummy Dean Masters! This man is completely addictive and instantly became my newest book boyfriend from the first few pages of the novel. On the other hand, I struggled with Emery from time to time. She was so convinced that she is terrible at relationships and could never make a relationship work with anyone that it became frustrating from time to time. However, her outgoing, caring, bubbly demeanor that was usually present, helped me grow to love her as the novel progressed.

Once again, Addison Cole has not just presented readers with a sweet and sexy love story, but a novel that touches on taking chances, overcoming family conflict, and the power of optimism, love, and patience. I love friends to lovers stories, but this one is definitely special in how it focuses on Dean’s issues with his family, Emery’s growing friendships with the residents in the area, and the happiness that comes with being with friends and loved ones.

When I became completely addicted to Addison’s Seaside Summers series, I never imagined that I could fall in love with any other book characters in the same way, because they were all so amazing. But the Bayside series is quickly changing my mind! I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens in the next novel, where Drake gets his story!

In an Oyster Shell - Who doesn't love friends becoming something more story? This one does not disappoint in the least.

The Pearls - Emery is a free spirit and best friends with Desiree. The difference between them is night and day. For Emery to get her own story is something very special. She stole the show for me, I was captivated by the whimsical ways that somehow grounded her in her realistic character flaws. I enjoyed her very much.

As I read the story I couldn't help but wonder who would be next. I have a couple of votes of who I hope it is. I love that the series has moved to a new small Cape Town with new characters but embraces the characters in previous books. It's like the best story that's never going to end. I am impressed the author has kept it going as long as she has and it doesn't get repetitive or boring.

Dean was a strong hero that was the perfect match for Emery. He was strong and patient. Everything I want in a man ( and have in my beloved husband). I appreciate a strong hero. I'm glad Cole doesn't right pansy heroes. It's part of what makes these books so good.

And the beach keeps getting hotter! With all the wonderful characters we've come to know and expect from Addison Cole. This is a love story, not only about following ones heart and being open to the right person at the proper time in life, but also about discovering the true meaning of home.
Emery Andrews is as REAL as any person you have ever met. She speaks her mind and follows her passions, somewhat impulsively. She believes in her calling as a Yoga instructor. She is also the most devoted and loyal friend one could ask for.
Dean knew the moment he met her that his Emery was special. One of a kind. He also knows she is gun shy in the romance department. He has his work cut out for him to prove he is her perfect match.
Fortunately Dean is not afraid of exhausting, difficult work. This story includes more about his own family and how their relationships need attention and work.
With an energetic pace and a contagious feeling of romantic love and passion, this was another great visit to Wellfleet.

My thoughts on SWEET PASSIONS AT BAYSIDE by Addison Cole.  Book 2 in her amazing "Sweet Love Romance" series, but can be read as a stand alone.

What a wonderful new series, powerful  compelling and sweet romance with no harsh language or explicit love scenes.  What a delightful new series. Set against a beach backdrop, Bayside in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. While the characters are flawed are they easy to relate to and likable. The storyline is sweet, a bit predictable but totally entertaining and entertaining.  I absolutely adore the characters and the plot was simple fantastic.  Another great Beach romance where the reader can feel the breeze on their face and the heat of a blossoming romance in their heart. Another great read by the talented Addison Cole.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however,  these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review."

Sweet Passions at Bayside is full of chemistry and romance. The characters are very well thought out.

Emery Andrews is very quirky, independent, and cautious. She's very personable, a whirlwind, and fun-loving. Emery often acts before thinking. That has caused issues in past relationships. She's been accused of flirting when she never meant to. Emery has never had a relationship last. When her close friend, Dean, tells her his true feelings, it throws Emery for a loop. Emery is afraid her habits and personality will cause her relationships to fail like they have in the past. Her friendship with Dean means far too much to her to risk. Her personality makes her very likable and one of my favorite characters for the Bayside series.

Dean Masters is patient, caring, and determined. Dean has been falling more in love with Emery after every nightly phone call since they met. He knows how skittish Emery can be with relationships. Dean tries to keep his feelings to himself, but seeing her with other people is too much. Telling Emery his feelings is a huge risk to their friendship. Emery is worth the risk, but going at her pace could be challenging.

The main characters have amazing chemistry. As long as Emery doesn't stand in her own way due to fear, the chance Emery and Dean are taking could be greatly worth the risk.

The Bayside series are fun to read. I can't wait for Vi, Emery's friend, to get her own story.

I received this story as an Advance Reader's Copy. I volunteered to leave my review. All opinions are my own.

Emery and Dean have been building a firm friendship over the past few months. Emery decides to leave her home and move to Bayside to be closer to her best friend Desiree.
I like the introduction of the new characters whilst still maintaining the same feel as the Seaside books. I enjoyed the down to earth nature of the narrative including the need to pee in the opening chapter!
Both Dean and Emery want more from the relationship but don’t know how to approach the issue. The other problem is that Emery is technically an employee and doesn’t want to ruin her career if the relationship fails.
My one complaint is that it did feel a bit repetitive as the characters continually debated their feelings and questioned their decisions. But then I’m guilty of doing that in real life too so perhaps I’m being a little unfair!

This has got to be the best story of friends who become more. Emery and Dean are absolutely perfect together, and I loved both of them from the start. They are so comfortable with each other that it makes the chemistry between them super strong! Emery is scared to let Dean become more than her friend since she has (in her mind) ruined all her previous relationships. She does not want to lose him as her friend. I absolutely loved that Dean decides he’s going to be something more anyway! I love how perfect for each other these two are and that Emery decides to give their love a chance. How does this story end… you’ll have to read it to find out. What I can say is that you will not be dissapointed.

Ahhh Emery and Dean!
What a perfect couple! This is the second book of the Bayside series and you will love the story of these two souls who are perfect for each other.
They are pure combustion and I have to say that I started yoga purely because of Emery. Her passion for life and for what she does is wonderful. Dean is the good match that will put her on her toes and has an understanding of her doubts and fears.
This is the book you will read over and over, because they are addictive.

A friendship and love should go hand-in-hand. True love built on a foundation of friendship is strong and stable. It’s easy to get wrapped up in a friendship and as a woman, I can understand how Emery could miss the cues that Dean wants more.

Emery swears off dating “friends” but there is an incredibly deep connection with Dean and his determination to get her to break that wall down is incredibly passionate and honorable. His dedication to being true to his career choice (he’s a landscaper who is not only good with his hands but gives his time to the elderly….I mean, who wouldn’t find that sexy and attractive!!). Emery is more free-spirited because of her parent’s broken relationship. Together, they offer a balance of all that is good in life.

Addison gives love hope again with Dean and Emery. They prove that friendship can be a firm foundation for a true, deep, and passionate love. Another grand slam for the series!

In Sweet Passions at Bayside, one of Rick's partners, Dean, meets up with Desiree's best friend from Virginia. Emery comes to the Cape to escape life. She is going to be teaching yoga at Desiree's bed and breakfast and at the resort. Dean had met Emery when she came for Desiree's engagement to Rick. He has been able to think of nothing but her since then. She is the same way but has made a promise to herself she will not date friends again.

This second book pulls you into a circle of friends that I am waiting to see what happens next, now these two are finished. The community at Bayside is beautiful and I have a new group of book friends to join every time a new book publishes.

You should join the Bayside friends and pick up a copy of this book. I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

She gave her heart to a stranger and ended up finding her soulmate. In a short span of time Emery has had some major upheaval in her life. Her dearest friend has moved away. Her heart has seen some bruising and her mind is telling her she needs a change. Dean is the gift, she never saw coming. What started as friendship has become the music that sets flame to her heart. Can the little girl lost get her chance at a happy ending? Addison Cole has penned a beautiful sonata that speaks to the heart. Dean and Emery are the best kind of treat. One that is meant to be savored. Five stars is just not enough.

Sweet Passions at Bayside portrays the tale of two individuals who grow as friends before giving into the inevitable. Emery met Dean over Christmas through Emery's friend Desiree and although Dean seemed to know right away that Emery was what he was looking for, Emery looks at her previous dating history and fights the chemistry. Before the story even begins to unfold, the two of them create a bond through Facetime and Skype, talking to each other even though they are miles away from each other.

The journey that Emery and Dean go through as Dean proves that he is what she is looking for is one that shows great friendship with a few bumps and lots of laughs. Dean breaks down Emery's walls and she is there for him when he needs her most.

Dean and Emery's story is another favorite of mine, I can't wait for the next book in the Sweet with Heat: Bayside Summers series!

After getting to know Desiree’s best friend Emery a bit in the first novel I was excited to find out that the second novel was all about Em. I enjoyed watching her friendship with Dean grow from a flirtatious meeting to the strongest bond to a possible relationship.

For some it seems as though they’ll never have a true lasting relationship but oftentimes it’s because the right relationship hadn’t yet begun. Sometimes relationships don’t work due to self-sabotage because whether consciously or subconsciously you don’t want it to work out. Once the right relationship comes along it’s easy to see why the other attempts didn’t work out and I like to think it’s destiny’s way of showing you that what you have was meant to be. Sweet Passions at Bayside is a sweet story about the idea that an amazing friendship can often turn into the sweetest love.

I loved reading Bayside Passions, the second book in the Sweet with Heat: Bayside Summers Series. I look forward to learning more about this world and its characters and this book did not disappoint, allowing me to catch up with some of my favorites such as Violet and Desiree.

Emery Andrews is beautiful, free-spirited and unique in her character. When her best friend Desiree moved to Bayside Summers, she is left feeling lost and looking to find her own way. After a disaster regarding her boss, and her blossoming friendship with Dean Masters and Desiree's relocation, Emery decides to uproot her life and come to Bayside.

In moving a new life is created for her, a life in which she can teach Yoga to locals and elderly patients. It is in her role that she meets 'Rose' a fun-loving old lady who has been wheelchair bound. Through her practices and yoga, she aims to heal Rose and make her ailments more bearable, learning about the ladies family and past.

Little does Emery know that she has already become acquainted with Rose's grandson Dean Masters, an ex-trauma care nurse who is renovating the gardens of this resort and property. From the moment Dean meets Emery, he is captivated, always wanting more from her than the close friendship they share, but not wanting to push her away. He encourages her to move to Bayside, using the move as an opportunity to get to know her better.

After an unfortunate moment regarding a naked man in Violet's kitchen, Emery is forced to move in with Dean, something that opens her eyes to how thoughtful he is, and how her feelings are more than just platonic. Through Deans persistence and Emerys determination to overcome her relationship fears, they strike up a deliciously sweet romance.

Dean is not without his own struggles, dealing with an overbearing and judgemental father. Emery gifts him with the courage to speak his mind and to persevere despite others giving up. He is a calming force to Emery and is always sensitive and aware of her needs.

I would recommend this book to all romance lovers, and anyone who likes reading books as part of a series or as a standalone novel. This book has made me look forward to finding out more about Violet, who won't fail in making you laugh.

Emery Andrew's misses her best friend Desiree greatly, so when the chance to move closer arises Emery doesn't hesitate. There is another great friendship she is eager to reconnect with, Dean Masters . Meeting months back over the holidays it had been a instant connection, and one that she treasured dearly. Even after the holidays though Dean and Emery kept in touch, growing closer over chats, phone calls , many laughs becoming each other's best friends. A true friendship that even long distance couldn't break, so the move was an easy one to make for Emery. The only problem was, Dean wanted more than a friendship, and Emery had a big rule about dating friends. Emery suddenly finds herself questioning her own rule as she not just enjoys Dean as a friend but feels herself being drawn to him beyond that.  She doesn't want to ruin their amazing friendship, but she also can't ignore the chemistry that is igniting between them.

Unlike Emery, Dean has no problem throwing the  rule book out the window. Not about to take no for an answer he steps up to the challenge to prove to Emery some rules are made to be broken and in very fun ways. He knows he comes with faults, but he's willing to be patient to not only earn her full trust, but to earn her heart, show her how great things can be. Good things come to those who wait, and Dean hopes Emery sees that in him before he looses her and their amazing friendship all together.

Will they find their happy ever after? Or will a  true friendship break apart ? You will have to pick up a copy and find out yourself!

This was a great book, I loved the growth of both Dean and Emery's relationship as well as personal growth themselves as characters . The book was fun , witty and heartwarming with a steamy romance heating the pages up. This is the follow up of Sweet Love at Bayside, where we run into previous characters, which is great. There's always a great feeling when you read about a couple you got hooked on in a previous book and see how they are doing. Addison Cole did a wonderful job and I am looking forward to reading more!

I highly recommend reading both back to back, you will enjoy if you like sweet , heartwarming and funny books!

A passionate yet sweet story about two friends, Emery Andrews and Dean Masters, that find love and support from each other while navigating the change from long distance BFF’s to close contact happily ever after lovers.
These two friends are side characters from Sweet Love at Bayside the first in this new series, Sweet with Heat:Bayside Summers. They are the best friends of Desiree Cleary and Rick Savage and met when Emery came to Wellfleet when Rick proposed to Desiree. They instantly connected and have built a long distance bff relationship over late night talks, via skype and FaceTime, giving each other the support that was lacking as Desiree and Rick built their own HEA. They know nearly everything about each other and now that Emery has moved to the Cape, Dean really wants to take their relationship to the next level beyond friends. Deep down Emery wants that too but has emotional baggage and tries to convince herself that it would never work. Dean has his own emotional baggage and is convinced that together the two of them can fix each other and live happily ever after. These two characters have enough chemistry and heat between them to melt the sun! I loved seeing how this all played out!

One of the best things about Addison Cole’s writing is that she writes from the heart, and always writes true to life. The reader can see the scenes as they unfold and feel all of the passion and emotion of the characters. In Ms, Cole’s Sweet with Heat series its her colorful community and family centered characters bond in a way that makes the reader wish that they had that same kind of bond with friends and family.( if they do have that bond, her writings make them feel they are glad that they do.)

Emery’s best friend moves away and she makes the hard decision to start her yoga business over and join her. She starts on her way and has to detour to Dean’s house, which is wonderful since they’ve been talking to each other nightly since they met at Christmas time. Instant sparks, heat, and attraction. There is no doubt that there is something between them but Emery has rules against dating friends. I LOVE that Dean decides rules shmules… he doesn’t follow her rules and pushes her to go against her own rules and date him. The three outings (they were not dates) were so original, so loving, so fun, and so amazing that I was jealous that no one ever made that effort for me. These outings also gave her a glimpse into his life, his family, and his career while allowing her to open up letting him in little by little.

Oh my… these characters are so wonderful. They are not perfect, they are real, they have feelings, and they are friends of mine. With each Love in Bloom book that I pick up I am excited to see what happens, to see what characters are introduced, and to see what characters come back into the series so that I can catch up with their lives. Their relationships with each other are so real and full of feeling that I can feel the love between them. They are more like families then friends and there is never a doubt that they have each other’s backs.

Addison Cole writes this series so that the characters and settings are familiar but each book is its own story. There is an ending to each book and each book starts with a new couple to explore. The series can be read in any order and are wonderful no matter where you start your reading. I can guarantee that once you start reading you will not be able to stop.

Emery misses her best friend Desiree now that she moved away and while on a visit to see Desiree she meets Dean. They both hit is off as friends and have been talking for a while. Now Emery is looking for a new start and decided to move closer to Desiree working as a yoga instructor. Since distance is no longer a problem things start to heat up for the two best friends. Emery wants a sort of space between her and Dean because she's a flirty sort and doesn't want to ruin their friendship, plus she is going to be working for him soon so that can pose as another problem. Meanwhile Dean wants to show Emery how well they would be together. He got his own issues to work out but he will do what he can to have Emery.

If your looking for a summer read (or anytime read) that's fun, sweet and sexy book then look no further! I'm a sucker for friends to something more type of relationship and this book was perfect for me. I loved seeing the moments when they are hitting that boundary going past friendship and although this book gets pretty dirty its now where there's graphic details of what is going on which I appreciate. It was tough seeing Emery deny the obvious connection between the two even if it was understandable why she felt that way. I loved seeing their relationship and how much they bettered eachothers lives by being there. Dean was there to prove to Emery that he can handle her flirty ways and wasn't looking for her to chance and Emery was such a rock for Dean when he needed it. This was such an enjoyable book and I loved it. I look forward to reading what is in store for the next characters!

Sweet Passions at Bayside, Book 2 of the Bayside Summers Series by Addison Cole, is a friends to lovers story that I really enjoyed.
On Christmas Eve, Emery and Dean met at the engagement party for their friends Rick and Desiree. At the party, the two hit it off and exchanged numbers. After the Christmas holiday, when she left to return home to Oak Falls, Virginia the two were fast friends. Over the winter months, Dean and Emery spoke or Face Timed most every night and their long-distance friendship blossomed. When Emery found herself without a job, she decided it was time for a change and moved up to Cape Cod.
Once at the Cape, Emery and Dean found that their friendship was still there, but decidedly with a bit a heat between them. After a comical and embarrassing episode for Emery, she finds herself as Dean's roommate. From there, Dean's kittens, Cash and Tango, take over in making sure that Emery and Dean remain roommates by stealing and hiding personal belongings. These were laugh out loud moments!
As the summer warms up so do the feelings between Dean and Emery, but, each one is unsure if the other feels the same. Our hero and heroine go through some turmoil before their true feelings are bared.
Sweet Passions is very romantic, funny, emotion filled tale; with very lovable characters - human and four legged. A truly memorable book by Addison Cole! All and all a great end of summer read! Oh, before I forget, Dean is someone you would definitely want as your book boyfriend. Think of a Nordic god and you have Dean! Highly recommend this book!

This is the story of Dean and Emery, both best friends with the characters that I fell in love with in the first book (Rick and Desiree).
Dean is one of the partners at the resort, with Rick and for the most part he looks after the landscaping and horticulture side of the business, a far cry from his previous role as a Trauma Nurse but one that he thoroughly enjoys.
A surprise party brought the two of them together but it was what they had between them that kept them in touch, Emery was only visiting Wellfleet when they first encountered each other but neither he or she simply could step away from their instant feelings and even when she headed home, they still spoke on the phone every day.
Things were playing on her mind and Dean was quick to pick up on the fact that not everything was right with Emery, so he offered her the chance to teach at the resort and since Desiree had offered her a similar opportunity there wasn’t much keeping her from relocating…but was it all business that was on the cards or would this self-confessed singleton, find time to open her heart to the opportunity of a relationship with Dean because he was definitely up for something more! Just you wait to you read what this guy has up his sleeve, he is fabulous!!!
With yet another stellar cast of characters, and an opportunity to catch up with previous pairs, this was everything I wanted from the second book in the series.
Highly recommended

A friends-to-lover romance with passion and humor!

Sweet Passions at Bayside is another fantastic read in the Sweet with Heat series. This book drew me in from the very first page. It is a story full of romance, humor, and some steamy heat. A well-written story with a plot moves at a good pace with a fresh, new story line that is easy to read. It is captivating and kept my attention to the very end. This is a story that will make you smile and laugh while wanting to knock some sense into the characters.

The characters are well developed and easy to like. This author knows how to create a story with enough romance and action to keep the reader entertained and interested. The characters in this series have become like my own friends and family. I can’t wait to read more in this series to see what happens with the rest of the characters. Melissa does a great job of intertwining the characters from each book into the rest of them.

Sweet Passions at Bayside is another book from a very gifted author that I had the pleasure to read. Addison Cole is a very talented author that tells remarkable stories that captivate you and will have you not wanting to put the book down. I have not been disappointed yet! Definitely, an author that you will want to keep on your go-to list. If you enjoy reading a romance that is entertaining and full of humor, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book. A truly entertaining read.

Emery Andrews and Deans Masters story is a lovely and sweet friends to romance story. Emery has packed up and left Oak Falls Virginia and is beginning a new life in Well Fleet Massachusetts. After her best friend Desiree, fell in love and settles in the Summer House Inn she runs with her sister, Emery decided it was too far to be away from her BFF and her life was not exciting enough for her so on an impulse she decided to move to cape, especially after a disastrous decision to date her boss, a change of Scenery was called for.
For Dean Masters,Emery's decision to come to the cape was his opportunity to prove to her that they could be great friends but even better lovers. He fell for Emery the first moment he met her when she came to visit Desiree, and through long distance text messages and late night calls the pair have grown closer and closer. However Emery has learnt her lesson about dating friends and is not willing to put their relationship at risk, therefore Dean has his work cut out convincing Emery they are made for each other. This couples relation is a very sweet one and you can understand the feelings from both sides, Emery's reservations on not wanting to ruin an already perfect relationship and Deans need to develop it and the feeling they they are on the cusp of something special.

This story is about Desiree's (Sweet Love at Bayside) best friend, Emery. See, Emery misses Desiree so much, that after spending Christmas with her, decides months later, when offered a yoga teacher position, to make a new start. She's also been talking to Dean Masters throughout those months, getting closer to him as well. But when she gets there, Dean wants to move things to the next level, while Emery kinds of seems oblivious to it all, but it doesn't take too long for the sparks to ignite, when Emery ends ups staying in his guest room, although she doesn't want to ruin their friendship. I really want to have some Bayside Summers myself, as the gang seems to be such fun people, that I wish that I could literally hang out with them. This is another super sweet with a side of angst story that I couldn't get enough of by the brilliant Melissa Foster writing as the cleaner Addison Cole. Plus this cast of secondaries are people that I have already fallen in love with, so they only add more to the mix, not to mention crazy humor that has me laughing. Sweet Passions at Bayside was a slow burn book, as the friends turned into lovers, so the push & pull was almost too frustrating at times, and yet, it's what kept me reading without a break! I LOVE this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Have you ever met someone & just clicked? You felt like you had known the other person your entire life? Everything was so easy that you just knew something was going to go wrong? This is the feeling that Sweet Passions at Bayside brought to my mind. Emery & Dean met & just fell into friendship & a relationship. That's sounds so easy & it really wasn't but you get the idea. They met at a wedding & clicked. Then they carried on a long distance friendship for months. Late night phone calls & texting sessions enabled them to get to know each other without anything else getting in the way. Now that Emery has moved to the Cape, can they move beyond friendship or will something happen to derail the relationship?

This was truly a "happy" book. Emery's character is open, friendly & bubbly - exactly the way you'd expect a yoga instructor to be. Dean is built. Strange thing for me to fixate on but what can I say. He's also patient, sensitive & sexy. What I really loved was the way the author showed that they truly were better people together. He helped her to calm down & be a little less chaotic. He also pushed her to the career he knew she loved but was afraid to pursue. She helped him to smile! She also helped him to be less serious & introspective. This was another great story to add to the Bayside group but can easily be a stand alone.

Book two of the Sweet Heat series, Emery Andrews the bff of Desiree (from book one) packs up and moves lock, stock and barrel to Wellfleet to start over. Her vocation is yoga; her passion is yoga back care specialist. For the past six months she has carried on an online/video chat friendship with Dean Masters, Rick’s (from book one) business partner in a resort on the Cape. Emery is a “tell it like it is, no filter type of girl that has sworn off dating/relationships for the foreseeable future due to bad experiences. Only problem is Dean has sort of fallen for Emery during their video chats and now wants to date her. Romance blossoms while they go on three example outings (not dates). As they get closer in their friendship Dean continues to surprise Emery with all the things they had talked about during their video chats. Emery has a few surprises for Dean too. Add in two kittens, items that go missing at Dean’s house, three sassy senior citizens and gardens and you have a sweet romance, with a little heat.

Book two of the sweet heat series is just as much fun as book one. Some of the same characters plus Addison introduces us to some new ones. The nice thing about Addison’s series is you don’t have to read them in order. These are great romances for reading on a summer afternoon at the beach or by the pool or on a rainy afternoon.
