Grumpy Silver Fox meets Sweet Curvy Girl, Age Gap Romance
Clover It’s a small tavern, they only sell IPA, and there’s a view of the mountains that I can’t get enough of. It was supposed to be the perfect spot to unwind. And I think it would’ve been, if the big, bearded man on the opposite side of the bar would stop staring at me. God, he’s twice my age. Still, he looks pretty sexy holding that guitar, strumming along with the band on stage. I should say hi after this set. No, I should avoid eye contact at all cost. Actually, maybe I’ll give him one flirty grin and see what happens. I’m on vacation after all.
Atlas She’s too young for me to be ogling over. I know that right away, but I can’t help myself. She’s got a dramatic look about her that says she has a story to tell, and I want to know every syllable of it. That said, I’m sure she won’t even give me the time of day. My buddies tell me all the time I’m about as gruff as they come. I blame that on the work I do. My day-to-day life results in a less than eloquent conversations. Still, there’s something drawing me toward her and smooth talking or not, I can’t let this one get away.
What happens at the yearly writer's retreat stays at the retreat...except the bonds these authors forge and the stories they tell. But someone forgot to mention that to the men they find themselves falling for in stunning Lake Tahoe. From the small-town sheriff to the hot, bossy cowboy to the grumpy, reclusive mountain man, these romance authors have stumbled upon real life trope-tastic heroes that sweep them off their feet. Sometimes literally.
Get ready to laugh, cry, and swoon this Valentine's Day when these six authors bring you on a Galentine's Getaway you won't forget. Galentine’s Getaway is a collection of steamy short romances brought to by six of your favorite instalove authors!
Perfectly OK, but the age-gap was a little too large for me (25 vs. 48). It's a least liked trope for me as I'm highly skeptical that he can "keep up" with her desires. I also didn't vibe with the writing style.
“I’m a chameleon. An insecure girl pretending to be confident, pretending to believe in myself, pretending to be whatever anyone needs because I’m so afraid of rejection. It’s sick, really.”
Clover is one of the author friends that went to the Big Bear Lodge for the author retreat.
I’m going to be quick with this review… First I’m really annoyed about this series. The books are cute and funny and the stories a about how all these authors found their soulmate during the retreat are good. As single books most of them are fine… as a whole I don’t like it! The scenes they’ve in common throughout all books differ too much from book to book and it annoys me so much! It’s like a police interrogation where everyone tells a different version of the story… In this one the girls dinner is so different from the others… and also, the retreat was supposed to be the girls spending time with each other and some authors refer that their characters did… but if you look at all the books timelines that would be impossible!
“I write all these love stories and I’ve never actually been in love. And making up love and romance on a deadline is pretty impossible. I mean, at some point, you just can’t fake it anymore.”
As a standalone story I liked Clover and Atlas story. It was sweet, funny, awkward at a times and I loved how Atlas took charge and defended his woman. As a part of the series… no.
I honestly don't think novellas are ever amazing. I only ever read them(usually bc there's an author in the mix that I have read before, and if it's all connected I'll give it a go) as samples for new authors.
This one's gonna be a no for me. The characters felt like too many different things shoved into one person. Like it was half written before anyone decided what direction it was going to go.
Also. I haaaaaaaaaaaate when the "conflict" is family drama that magically goes away bc the problem family member PRETTY RANDOMLY changes their mind, and decide to be unproblematic.
Maybe we should have gone with one of the other potential plots that were set up and abandoned?
Atlas meets Clover at the restaurant bar, he's at the bar, then goes to perform. He was in a band but when his parents passed away suddenly he came home to take care of the ranch. Atlas's brother, Denny is trying to sell the ranch, he says it's what their parents wanted him to do, but Atlas doesn't want him to sell it, he's has a lot of memories, and enjoys working on the ranch. Clover is working on her latest book but is stuck and can't get the words to come. She gets a call from her publisher who tells her she only has a week. Atlas is on stage and sees something is wrong, so he sits with her asking her what's going on. He tells her what's going on with him and his brother, then she tells him about her book. He invites her to come to the ranch and get back to nature, she takes his card. The next day she spends it locked in her room, but nothing comes to her, then she goes to her Galentine's dinner with her author friends. Soon Clover spots Atlas on stage, she notices him staring at her. She leaves her friends to go and talk to Atlas she tells him if his offer still stands she'll stop by tomorrow. He tells her to just wear something she can get dirty, then she heads back to her friends to finish off the night. The next day Atlas's brother, Denny has a realtor coming with a couple that is interested in the ranch. When Clover arrives he takes her out on a horse to look at the mountains., she asks him about his family, and she tells him about hers. She helps him feed the chickens but then gets attacked by them, when she fumbles she twists her ankle. Atlas carries her to the house to put some ice on her ankle. He sits her on the counter, taking off her boots and socks to put ice on her ankle. She reaches up to put her hands on his shoulder, then down to his bicep. His hands go to the back of her hair and they begin to kiss. She spreads her legs and he steps between them. She pulls off his shirt, she reaches between his legs and she begins to stroke him. He unbuckles her jeans, then tells her they should wait until tonight, he wants this to be special. She unbuckles herself and slides his hand in. A man's voice interrupts them, it's his brother, they both freeze. Denny asks Atlas if this is a joke, he also has the realtor and the couple with him. Atlas tells him he should have knocked. His brother tells him he didn't think his brother would be entertaining a cheerleader from high school. Atlas tells him he doesn't owe him an explanation, and she's twenty five. He pulls her into his arms and tells her she is never leaving his sight again. She tells him she can't fall for him, he tells her he's not willing to stop what is happening between them. She tells him she is scared, he's the first man she ever done anything with, she tells him she's a virgin. He asks her to promise him this isn't a one night thing, he wants to cherish her. She tells him she's never wanted anything more. They sidestep back into her room, he asks her if she is sure this is what she wants. She tells him she's sure, then she unbuckles his jeans. Her dress falls to the floor, she's nervous, but he tells her she's gorgeous. She reaches for him, she tells him she wants to touch him, but isn't sure what to do. So he takes her hand and shows her, he reaches down slipping his fingers between her folds. She tells him she needs him now, he tells her to ride him so she's in control. She lowers down onto him, she feels a harsh pinch, he tells her they can stop. She tells him it feels good, she slowly grinds up and down on him. She clamps down on top of him, pleasure screaming from inside her. His orgasm roars through him, their bodies exhausted, they collapse. She tells him he needs to get back downstairs, he tells her he's not leaving her bed tonight. One year later, Galentine's Day is on pause for Clover, she's pregnant. Atlas and Denny are getting along both are working on the ranch together. Clover now finishes her manuscripts ahead of time. That's what real love does, it fills you up and gives you hope.

Her gaze catches mine again and for a second, I’d wager to say we were both feeling the same thing: a warmth that’s indescribable, a fluttering in our stomachs, a tingling pleasure that’s nearly aching. - Atlas Meyer
First of all the description does not match what actually goes down. Not a bad thing but was a bit misleading. This is book 2 of 6 in a Galenatine's Getaway about 6 romance authors who find love during a writing retreat in Lake Tahoe.
With that said, this is a pretty short story, and I was annoyed that the dinner scene was 99% the same as the previous story. I get that it's giving us each woman's perspective but as a loyal series reader, this annoyed me and would only benefit savages who just jump into a series randomly reading things out of order or gasp... as a standalone.
So, our girl Clover has hit writer's block and his weighed down with deadlines. Sexy silver fox Atlas offers to help with research and relaxation to clear said block, despite being in the middle of his own personal crisis.
I love how these two come together and help each other find happiness and clarity so they can focus on their passions. What I didn't like was the unnecessary slut shaming. I was furious and felt like it had no place and added no value to the story.
This is a quick, instalove, spicy love story. The age gap presents a small hurdle, but I am happy that it wasn't a main focus or barrier for these two. I appreciated Atlas's background story. I felt like he had a lot of depth.
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
3.5/5 stars
Clover is at a writer’s retreat with her writer friends, she writes romance but feels like a fraud, she’s a virgin and never been in love. Feeling down because her publisher wants a new book by the end of the week she tries to enjoy a drink at the bar. Atlas is an older guy who sings at the bar, he also has a ranch that he owns with his brother. To help with her writers block he asks her to come out to the ranch. Not able to write anything that day she decides to go see him. They are attracted to one another but he’s 23 years older than her, he feels he’s to old for her. They give in to their attraction and are making out in the kitchen when they are interrupted by his brother. He says so,e mean things about their age gap and she flees. Atlas doesn’t have her number or her room number at the lodge so he literally goes door to door looking for her. When he finds her they have their first time together. Epilogue one year later a baby girl and another baby on the way. The brothers make up and he apologizes to Clover for being mean to her.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book in the Galentines Getaway series is about Clover and Atlas. It is a short and steamy romance. They are two very different people that you wouldn't think were meant to be together. The sparks between them cannot be denied for long though. Clover is having issues with her writing and hoped this vacation would help. They both are under a lot of pressure. Atlas has his life turned upside down by his brother. He wonders how much he will have to give up in his life. These two come together when they need each other the most. Not everything goes smoothly, but in the end they have a future that looks bright. I really liked this book and thought the characters were perfect for each other. It has just the right amount of sweetness, drama and steam. I have not read the whole series yet and look forward to checking them all out. Their story made me go and look up some of the other books that I missed by Khloe.

Clover is on a writer’s retreat outing with her friends. Her publisher wants her next book by the end of the week, but she has writer’s block and is stressed. Hopefully this trip will relax her and start her creative thoughts generating again.
Then in a bar, she sees an older man staring at her. Despite their age difference, each of them seems to feel some sort of connection with each other. When he invites her to come to his ranch, it could be what she has been looking for and may help her start writing again. And being with Atlas Meyers is definitely having the desired effect. Can he convince her they are good for each other? Could they actually fall in love?
The characters are enjoyable, especially as we see the chemistry sizzling between them and the way each of them respond. They will have some difficult situations to get through, but are they willing to stick together and try to have the relationship they both seem ready for?

Khloe Summers' contribution to the multi-author Galentine's Getaway series is the delicious, sweet, steamy and short age-gap romance. With a bad case of writer's block, romance author Clover heads to the mountains outside Lake Tahoe to join with her friends and fellow writers for a retreat over Valentine's Day. Fighting over his family ranch with his estranged younger brother, ex-rock star Atlas escapes into a set at the resort bar where he meets Clover. A twenty plus year age-gap has the two initially just commiserating before Atlas offers to host Clover for a day out on the ranch to see if it can inspire her writing. But before long, neither can deny the intense chemistry between them. This is a high-heat, low drama, sexy, swoon-worthy age gap romance that can't be missed this Valentine's Day!

She may write romance but what happens when she gets to star in her very own love story
Romancing the Silver Fox by Khloe Summers is part of the multi-author Galantines Getaway series. The series is about a group of young romance authors who meet at a resort in Lake Tahoe for a weekend and end up each finding their very own HEA. This story is about Clover, a sweet young woman who is currently suffering from a bad case of writer's block, and Atlas, a retired rockstar who lives on a ranch in the area and plays a few nights a week at the resort. This opposites attract story is a delicious sweet story with a nice kick of spicy naughtiness. I really loved the characters and their journey to a perfectly played HEA.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
HEA Standalone, interconnected characters with books by this author and books by other authors in this series *over 18 readers only * BBW, insta-love age-gap (48-25)
Clover, a romance author, is at a yearly writer's retreat in Lake Tahoe. Atlas is a rancher by day, band member at night. His brother is selling the ranch out from under him, though. Still, he invites her out to the ranch to see it and maybe get some inspiration. Then she gets hurt, and while he's tending to her, they get a tiny bit physical. His jerk of a brother interrupts and calls her a prostitute. She leaves, hurt and embarrassed. Now he has to find her and make things right.
I was surprised that the book didn't have a copyright page nor a table of contents. It was the cover page, then straight to chapter 1. There are also 3 chapters at the end of the book that preview another book.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Clover & Atlas. Clover and her girlfriends are on a get away retreat the only problem her publisher can still reach her here. All she wanted was a little time to get over her writers block. While in the resort bar she hears Atlas singing and can't help but want to know more about him. Atlas is working this gig to help raise the funds to buy his brother off before he sells the family farm. Atlas has given up a lot to keep this ranch but now looking at this woman he wonders about his sacrifices. Can these two find a HEA or will the age and the distance make that impossible?
Amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Romancing the Silver Fox is a great addition to a series that is fun and a delight to read. While in Tahoe, Clover is meeting with her friend while working on her book. Atlas use to be in a well-known band, but tragedy hit close to home, he gave up the fame to help at the ranch. Clover sees Atlas while he is playing a set at the lodge and feels a connection.
This is a fast and intense story with a bit of family drama and jealously that breaks your heart. Clover is a wonderful character that is loving and supportive. Atlas is caring and protective that warms your heart.
Great story from start to finish.

Older man/Younger woman - Love it! This is about Clover and Atlas. This is a short story and very cute. Clover is on her way to a retreat to try to finish off a book and have some girl time with her friends. Atlas is trying to avoid his brother who is back in the ranch trying to sell it because it was left under his name but now decides to come back home after ten years. These two end up helping each other in more ways than expected, but I will not give out the juicy details. This is worth the read. I just hope there was a follow-up story on Denny.

This is part of the Galentine’s Getaway series. Clover is under a crazy deadline and she should be writing but she is stuck. Atlas used to be part of a band that Clover’s mother loves. She can’t believe she is meeting him. Atlas is taken by Clover right away but he is way to old for her. Plus, what does he have to offer her anyway. He still invites her out to his ranch for some time away. Atlas has his own issues that he is dealing with as well. His brother wants to sell the ranch from underneath him. He needs to find a way to get him to change his mind or come up with the money to buy him out. Clover at Atlas has in instant connection. They may have an age gap and come from different back grounds but they are great together. This book is fast paced once they meet. I love that all the books in this series interconnect. Great job Khloe.
Atlas and Clover meet at the Lodge she is staying at during her vacation with her friends.
He sees she worried and approaches her while she's sitting in the Lodge's bar. They decide to share their maladies. Thus begins their journey to love!
She's a writer dealing with a hard deadline as she's suffering from writer's block. He issues her an invite to come out to the ranch to seek inspiration. He's dealing with his brother, who is trying to sell the family ranch.
Will Atlas and Clover get through their tribulations to see their HEA?
Clover is on a planned trip with her friends, it is supposed to be relaxing and hanging out. She gets a call from her publisher about her next book, which is is far from finishing, telling her she better have it done by Friday. She meets an older man at the bar, Atlas, the connection between the two is there. He invites her to his ranch for inspiration on her book.
Is the age gap too much or does love conquer all?

Enjoyed this book a lot, Clover was an aspiring author trying to meet deadlines but she's lost the lines. Her girl group get together brings her in contact with Atlas a local rancher, guitarist and song writer who is a couple decades older than her. The things these two go through is something but it helps her writing. Atlas's brother comes off as a jerk but when they finally open up to each other, you'll change your mind. I hope there's a book about him. I really enjoyed this book and hope you will too. Written by Cindy :)
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review..I enjoyed this quick story about Atlas and Clover. He's an older man who runs the family ranch after his parent's death. She's a young romance author in town for a writers retreat. They meet at the bar in the lodge when he's performing. He invites her to the ranch to get some inspiration for her book. But what they discover is life altering. Great HEA in the works

While on a writer's retreat with fellow authors/friends Clover gets hit with writer's block and she's on a deadline so she heads to a local bar where she meets Atlas. From the moment Atlas sees Clover he feels something he's never felt before and he's not going to let her get away. This is an older man/younger woman, steamy, short story with characters that are so great for each other. The writing is good and by the end, I was cheering for Clover and Atlas to get their happily ever after. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Atlas is 48 and is trying to run his family's ranch. He gave up his dreams of touring with his rock band to come work on the family ranch after his parents died. Clover is a 25 year old virgin romance author. When these two meet, the fireworks begin. Atlas invites Clover to join him on the ranch for inspiration. There is some family drama with Atlas's brother, but all things work our in the end! I can't wait for Dennys story!!

Clover is in town on a writer's retreat when she connects with Atlas who is years older than herself. He is having all kind of issues with his brother who is trying to sell the farm out from under him. He causes problems for him and Clover when he calls her out of her name. Will this be the end of a beautiful relationship that was brewing between the two? This story drew me in and had me all caught up in Atlas and Clover's drama!

The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Atlas and Clover and does not let go. They each have things they are trying to deal with but when they see each other, they have a connection. However, there is over twenty years difference between them. Will the age difference be a deal breaker?

Clover is meeting other author friends at a writers retreat in Lake Tahoe. She's at the bar when she meets Atlas who's older but keeps staring at her. There is a connection between them when they meet and after explaining about her writers block Atlas invites her to his ranch. This was a short, sweet, steamy story with great characters. There are some embarrassing moments but they work through them. Great HEA.

This age gap romance with a grumpy silver fox and a curvy romance writer hit all the marks. Clover is on a retreat with her friends when she meets Atlas in the hotel bar. He suggests she spend the day with him to get a feel for the mountains and the ranch life. Inspiration hits and the words to Clover’s next book start flowing and she finds the man of her dreams. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A bit of insta love fluff. During a girls getaway, romance writer falls for much older musician turned rancher. Part of a Galentines Weekend series with 5 authors contributing to interconnected stories of 5 romance author friends who find love on a retreat during Valentine's Day weekend. Not a lot of substance but just a quick insta love read. This one is not my favorite. There was conflict with the hero and his brother and it just didn't work in my opinion.
